Pick | Team | Remarks |
1 | Titans | Mariota can't stay healthy but the D can't stop anyone. I expect them to come back to the deep DT class later and the OL class isn't great. Barnett is a clone of the “milibomber”, founder of Bombsquad, and Titans can start a mini rebuild. |
2 | Steelers | Big Ben rang his last bell, the Steelers are looking for a new face of the franchise. Irons is the opposite of Barnett, a great accurate rhythm passer with questionable arm strength but super toughness. |
3 | Giants | The Giants could go WR here but it's a crowded group then, instead they take the physical freak Blair who scored an 8 on the combine and they instantly lock down the Cowboys, Redskins and Eagles deep ball. |
4 | Jets | The Jets traded Anderson but have the freak WR Fisher but they pair his verticality with Young's speed and suddenly the Jets passing game is deadly!!! This pick could be CB Blair if the Giants go WR. |
6 | Bills | The Bills love speed at their LB spot and they let Milano walk. Boy does Sowell have speed!!!! This pick could be OL but they feel like a reach with so many good defensive players on the board. |
7 | Panthers | Panthers freak out as DT Roby drops into their laps due to the needs of other teams causing a mini free fall. With this pick the team finishes it's retool of the defensive line in the hopes they can stop the run in the AFC South. |
5 | Colts (from Jaguars) | Colts managed to fix their linebacker spot with free agency and will be looking for CB to pair with new FA Jenkins and last years draft pick CB Horne in the slot. In walks Acey Benson as the new no1 CB. |
9 | Saints | A new coach might want to bring in their own QB but most of them seem a reach at this spot. Instead they go with the high potential athlete Huggins and hope he can develop as quick as advertised. |
8 | Chiefs | This pick is a hard one... Any freak player showing amazing skill could be it with the Chiefs eyeing DL, Safety and LB. They need a TE but they all suck this draft. In walks Gray with that big hit swagger! |
11 | Cowboys | The Cowboys forfeited this pick in a trade for Coach Zill with the Jags. Hello Mr Super Irrelevant in one of the UDFA Tight Ends... Most likely this 4.90 40 dash beauty! |
10 | Raiders | The Raiders won the darling of free agency in CB Lattimore, they could add another... or find a QB or TE but they're all reaches here. Instead they pick the power OL Erickson with the view to him moving to RT to pave the way for Power HB Bennett. |
14 | Seahawks | The Seahawks are building a new more badass leagion of boom with the return of ET3. FS McKinney fits the new role as Bam Bam in this movie sequel, a hard hitting tall athlete who plays the box well. |
15 | Redskins | This pick could also be Heisman winner Kelce but I think need wins over talent here. So the Redskins go with super duper athletic Shivers who'll sweep deep locking down the NFC Easts deep attacks. |
17 | Colts | The Colts continue their rebuild and pick up a replacement OL for the traded Nelson. Reiff is a powerful attacking blocker and allows LG Peat to step back over to LT so the move creates 2 starters with 1 pick. |
12 | Lions | The Lions lost everyone to free agency and it'll be hard to build back up. They need every position on defense but Simon at least replaces the star they lost in Slay. This pick could also go OL but they're all reaches here. |
13 | Packers | The Packers sorted the safety position in Free Agency so this pick will come down to a shiny new LB to go through Packer-school like MLB Burks, or it's a big play WR to get Aaron Rodgers even more touchdowns with WR Mebane. |
16 | Bears | The Bears will strike gold if fast riser Carroll falls to them at 17. They need pass rush so that the offense doesn't have to put up a tonne of points per game and Carroll gives them their own version of Mack on the DL. |
18 | Ravens | The Ravens moved to a 43 but never got a full compliment of LB. This pick could also be CB in the wake of the trades but Smallwood feels like a fit at OLB and can cover the pass and run well. |
19 | Cardinals | The Cardinals team was sacked so much the coach left bruised to take on managing a superbowl winner. Now the new coach needs to continue the OL rebuild and Leach is a jack of all trades guard to give the offense options. |
20 | Bengals | The Bengals are on an interim coach as their D ages or falls apart. Pellerin gives the DL some teeth back to the big old cat. They might pick up one of the safeties or linebackers here too. |
21 | Browns | Finally!!! Not a LB to the Browns!! They love sacks, so lets give them a sack artist DT in Spencer. The AFC North will have fits as they see the amount of talent rushing at them on any play. |
22 | Packers (from Patriots) | The Packers have transitioned to a 43 but still need a 3down weakside LB, Rodenhauser has the talent to stay on the field every down and gives the Packers flexibility on personnel in each formation. |
23 | Titans (from Vikings) | Titans get a steal if Morgan drops out the Top10 all this way, but it's likely to happen as he hasn't shown signs he can stand up to the run like other Dts in this class. Expect him to move to 34DE and cause fits for the OL on 3rd downs. |
24 | Falcons | Falcons need a NT to go beside Jarret and Barnett is proven to be adequate against both the pass and run with the size and height to plug holes and block passing lanes for the QB. |
25 | Rams | The Rams were lucky to pull their season back from 0-5 and they rely too heavily on their stars to carry games. They need depth at WR should one of the starters go down and Logan comes in as a development project with physical talent. |
26 | Chargers | Jakie Hansen is the least athletically gifted of the first round LBs but outside of Gray he's the best run stopper and suited to move over to OLB in the Chargers system. It'll be easy locking the strong side down next to Bosa. |
27 | 49ers | The 49ers need to get to the QB. They've thinned their depth at RB and they have a need on the interior OL. In this scenario, the 9ers take a risk that Morris has all the potential that was promised and moves to DE in the 43. |
28 | Dolphins | The Dolphins will likely go best player available to try and sustain a roster that suffereed a bitter playoff defeat that got the coach sacked. Hurns fills the hole at FS but isn't a naturally cover guy, more of an enforcer over the middle. |
29 | Bills (from Texans) | The Bills need a compliment to CB White and Clayton Rodd drops due to questions regarding his athleticism, but like we saw with the Rams CB Snow last season, they can develop well in the slot. |
30 | Eagles | The Eagles luckily got the bye giving QB Wentz more time to heal but the problem comes with an ageing OL letting him get hit! LT Fitzsimmons is a bit of a reach but the OL are gone and he is a dire position of need. |
31 | Packers (from Broncos) | The Packers traded elusive pass catcher Tevin Coleman for this pick and need to find a replacement. The HB might all drop to the 2nd round but here the Packers find a solid short yardage back when Rodgers can't get it done in the air. |
30 | Buccaneers | The Bucs have a new coach but the same roster holes. They managed to retain their superbowl winning stars but need to sort out the safety position for when they come across a playoff team that isn't run first. |
S28 Draft Awards
Best Draft: Colts - 79Ovr Power beast RG Turenne, 77ovr Star user SS Beard, 82ovr Steal catching HB Russel, 74ovr Run Stuff MLB Wallace, 71ovr Star QB-friendly TE Denney all culminated in an awesome draft haul for the Colts. Made more impressive by the fact that the Coach was only signed on Draft Day.
Worst Draft: Rams - 75ovr RG Warren was a reach for need, as were 71ovr LT Sampson and RT Norman, 6'8 Quick dev beast TE George and 77ovr shifty HB Lowery were slight shining moments on a relatively average draft. The Rams might be set up for the future when their cap crash hits but with a dying need at C and MLB they didn't draft to win now.
Most likely to Bust: Jaguars - QB Corey Whitely, the 74ovr Speedster QB isn't a bad player, he's just sat behind a veteran in Bortles and No6 pick in Bootleg Bundren. I expect Bortles to be shipped off but he'll only see the field for the next 4 seasons if it's gone catastrophically wrong for the Jags.
Most likely to Boom: Dolphins - QB Frank Corliss, the appointment of a Superbowl winning coach meant a culture change for the Dolphins. Enter Corliss, he plays to the coach's strength with a great deep ball and underneath accuracy. Expect Corliss to be an early ROTY contender.
Steal of the Draft: Texans - HB Tahj Hardwick, as predicted the HBs dropped all draft in favour of needy OL, legendary QBs and elite pass rushers. A few were great steals but the No3 ranked player in the draft for talent dropped all the way to the second round and the Texans get a great weapon.
Reach of the Draft: Bengals - QB Clay Lang, it's not often I call a 3rd round pick a reach, but at 66ovr in a legendarily loaded QB class it doesn't look great. Not to mention the Bengals double dipped at QB in the 5th and came out with 71ovr Sheard who looks like Daltons replacement next season.
Solid Pick: Jaguars - QB "Bootleg" Bundren, it was meant to be the mega trade to Pick4 for the 80ovr Star escape artist QB, but the late arrival of the Colts coach changed drafting strategy completely, so the Jags waited to see if their saviour dropped to 6.... And he did!!! A solid pick because by a twist of fate it didn't cost the farm!
Daring Pick: Chiefs - DT Margito Stanley, there's always one who risks a bad story or reaches for the stars... 76ovr Run Stuff DT Stanley was it, a 5th round projection taken in the first and anchoring the Chiefs 34 for the rest of the year.

Commentary
Pick | Team | Remarks |
1 | Bears | The Trubisky Project is likely over in Chicago, does he stay on as backup or get traded? Do they give him one more chance and trade out of this pick for a king's ransom? Bramlet is by far the No1 player in this draft. |
2 | Raiders | The Raiders have a couple of holes but their coach has been salivating so much over this MLB for months that it's almost a done deal. The combine was the only missing piece of Madden's puzzle and he turned in a corker! |
3 | Seahawks | The Seahawks are the worst team next season, the have needs on OL, FS, CB, TE, HB, DE, LB, but I think they'll surprise everyone and build for the future with HB Hardwick as a Lightning-Lightning tandem with Perry. |
4 | Jags (Browns) | The Jaguars need a QB to compete, Bortles got it done at times but “Bootleg” Bundren really puts them over the edge as a super dynamic playmaker complimenting a heavy hitting run game. |
5 | Colts | The Colts have a few holes on D but their offense looks in good shape now. They really need CB but Gates is just too good a prospect to pass up with Hooker covering the other side of the field. Watch out AFC South passers. |
6 | Browns (Jaguars) | The Browns really need a RT but Turenne really fits their scheme and provides an absolutely thumping presence up the middle. AFC North just got a bit more Black n Blue. |
7 | Dolphins | The Dolphins are in full rebuild with a superbowl winning coach now at the helm. They need a QB and this legendary class has plenty, Corliss has the talent over Stuvaints and potential over Schilling. |
8 | Chargers | This pick could go RT but with Rivers goofy motion goofing more with age the Chargers look to his successor with Stuvaints. He needs a bit of work but has the potential to keep the Chargers electrified in years to come. |
9 | Bills | This pick could also go RT but I think the Bills go with workout warrior Spence. His presence makes the Bills a lockdown D against the pass, it's a shame they just can't stop the run. |
10 | Packers (Saints) | The Packers need to recapture their superbowl form with a high pressure D. Clay Matthews is gone but Peck's pro day just shot him into the first round. A super fast speed rusher to give the NFC North fits. |
11 | Packers | Back to back picks on D, Phillips compliments HaHa Dix to cover deep and buys new pick Peck time to get the sack. This pick could go OL but the prospect of a shitdown D is too juicy. |
12 | Panthers | The Panthers prefer a mauling OL but this slight drop by Saulsberry is the in the Panthers favour. They get a replacement for the disastrous Kalil contract and Cam Newton doesn't break his back every match. |
13 | Redskins | The Redskins would've likely gone QB but the 4 better than Bradford/Smith are off the board so they shore up the line the Briggs. He's a pure pass blocker to protect an old QB but don't expect him to bully the D-Line. |
14 | Giants | The Giants might look to LB with Bellanca but OL is a bigger need. LT Daniels brings some stability to the OL of a young future superstar QB. He's not a mauler for Barkley but he's got talent. |
15 | Titans | The Titans reach slightly here, they could go OL but getting a pass rusher is a big need. Ingram is predicted early 2nd so could sneak up draft boards having shown some great college tape combining quickness and finesse. |
16 | Jets | The Jets find a speed/size playmaker for the developing QB Darnold. Daniels isn't the most sound catching TE this draft but he's by far the best athlete which will create nice mismatches for the QB to use. |
17 | Chiefs | The Chiefs need some inside OL help but Reggie Beard had such a good combine that the Chiefs will be tempted here. The coach likes to gamble with aggressive safeties and Beard fits that mould, |
18 | 49ers | The 49ers are building a defensive monster, they've got a great DL and built an awesome LB core. Their safeties are fine and one CB has it locked down...but they've got a hole at the other side, DeLoach solves that. |
19 | Eagles | The Eagles lost HoF LT Peters this offseason and so look to Casey to fill those big boots. Casey doesn't shine much at anything but doesn't have any holes either. |
20 | Cardinals | The Cardinals got abused by Donald for a record breaking sack game! Ayers is a bit of a reach but the OL start to run out, projected early 2nd he'll be tasked with protecting another season against Donald. |
21 | Ravens | The Ravens signed Blount but he doesn't last a full game usually, Russel comes in as a great receiving HB for Jackson to check down to and spell big boy Blount when needed. |
22 | Lions | The Lions never quite replaced Ebron and so get the most sound catching TE in the draft with Cromartie. He doesn't wow all the time but he's got safe hands and decent speed. |
23 | Buccaneers | In this situation I'd expect Rogers to move over to guard for the Bucs and he brings some decent strength and nasty hand punch to an offense that's got very few holes. |
24 | Texans | The Texans got decent production out of HoF Gates but he's now hung up the cleats and Diaz is the pick to replace. He's got great hands but isn't the speed matchup nightmare like the other Tes this round. |
25 | Rams | The Rams reach slightly here with this early 2nd round pick but Sherrell is a good pass protector for a team that loves to pass deep. He's undersized for the G spot which limits his stock. |
26 | Bengals | The Bengals reach slightly here with this early 2nd round LB but Wallace has been creeping up draft boards after a great combine and the Bengals need an LB to stop the run in the AFC North. |
27 | Vikings | The Vikings have nothing behind Diggs and Thielen if one of them gets injured. The Vikings have needs on OL and could replace the slowing Sendejo but Flair brings speed in the slot and a good insurance policy to the Vikings O. |
28 | Broncos | The Broncos really needed a boost at TE but they're all gone. They settle for the future WR to replace DT and Sanders as they age. Rogers has decent athleticism and the best hands in the draft. |
29 | Falcons | The Falcons need some meat on the DL. They've got tonnes of speed but when Grady Jarret went down in the playoffs they were exposed slightly. Buenning might not be the sexy pick but he's got that hole plugged. |
30 | Patriots | The needs for the Patriots could have easily been QB, QB, QB. They have few holes but there's no concrete plan to replace the GOAT. Schilling is a limited system QB but he's deadly at short range. |
31 | Steelers | The Steelers have a few needs on D and very limited cap space but that didn't stop them getting to the Superbowl. Parks is a decent guard with limited potential but comes with good strength and ability to plug and play. |
32 | Cowboys | The Superbowl Winning Cowboys are used to picking at this spot... They reach slightly for power OT Wyatt who's an early 2nd to fit the system as they know you can never have too many 1st round O-linemen. |
By Mattanite
QB Riley Brockel was chosen by the Bears as the No3 pick behind the Zach “Milibomber” Mili and Frank “SpeedFreak” Jones. He had a solid career with the Bears but some leave of absence by the coach, he never tasted the playoffs and missed out on ROTY to Dolphons QB Paul Martinek. Post Julio Jones trade, Jones and Brockel are currently on pace for a 30td season each and about to taste the playoffs any day now.
DT Sanchez Middleton was a surprise 3rd round draft pick by Jaguars Coach Zill, after trading a DT, to draft a less good oft injured DT. Middleton floated about a few teams/practice squads but after slipping on a puddle in the locker room and tearing the ACL, MCL and PCL in both knees he now works the deli counter at the local market awaiting a HUGE payout from the Jags.
DE Demarcus Phinisee was chosen No5 overall by the Titans in an already stacked D-Line. The slow 40 time didn’t matter much in the Titans 3-4 Defense and he had a solid career so far as a rotational player. Considered a reach as he doesn’t put up the sacks but no-one can move him in the run game. Everyone is still talking about his potential…
WR Kawai Lynch was drafted by the Bucs at No13 overall and was a surprising quick learner and not the boom or bust pick that everyone suspected. He’s currently setting the anti-trend of a WR who doesn’t run his mouth and has no social media, which is currently causing flame wars on social media but Lynch goes about being all Zen.
CB Tuni McMahon was the 3rd Bears 1st round pick at No22 (from the Jags, who knows what they traded?) after taking RT Eduardo Compton at RT no14. He had a solid career but like all Bears during this time, got pretty down at the losses (where is coach??) but revitalized himself with a new part time business venture, Tuni’s Tuna is now a successful tinned seafood brand all across the North East.
LG Josh Klein was drafted by the Falcons at No20 overall and was elated to be joining such a stacked Superbowl bound team!!! Then Coach Santanite traded Julio for another Jones (Zay) and all the potential in the world (1st and 2nd round picks). Everyone got sad though and started to refuse to resign and thus the bidding frenzy began on all the Falcons on the Market. Klein is still playing for the Falcons and holds Matt Ryan’s crutches in the huddle.
FS Javian Meriweather was spoiled! The Superstar FS was drafted with the No12 pick by the Browns (from Texans) and joined an already loaded 19-0 team. He quickly got a reputation as a great safety, giving up no receptions… but that’s because the ball was in Garret’s hands for a Sack-Fumble-Recover-TD every play. All the Browns thought they were hot stuff, so all wanted paying. Coach Hiero retired and the Browns are now $0.01 under the cap and 1-15 on the season.
SS Bradley Ali was a surprise slip, all the way to No29 as the 49ers rubbed their hands greedily at everyone else’s incompetence (the Bills coach still regrets not landing 2 back to back Superstars in that draft as CB Drakeford was a lockdown DB with butter fingers). Ali thrived under Coach David but once he left town to coach in other leagues, Ali took his foot off the pedal and the 49ers descended into mediocrity. Ali is still amazing, just the rest of the team isn’t.
WR Ray Sears looked like an Al Davis Raider, all speed and problems! The Cowboys picked up the phenom head case at No28 and stuck him on punt return duties while ET beat the Cowboy way into him! “It’s run-run-run-run-run-PA deep for a TD got that!!!?!”. Sears earned Pro Bowl honours as a returner and 3 Superbowl rings later Sears is a mellowed out mature character who shares the occasional PA-Deep for TD with John Ross.
OLB Frank “SpeedFreak” Jones was an insane athlete drafted by the Ravens at No2 overall. The Ravens really needed a QB but without Coach MaxPower being in town yet, the CPU decided to reform the 2005 Ravens. Jones was a shining light for the Ravens in a brutal division with 3 constant playoff and Superbowl teams who just schemed around the SpeedFreak! Frank Jones currently has 40sacks and 5TDs on the season, more TDs than the starting running back.
It was all about MLB Sherard Carter vs MLB Kazeem Burrough in the lead up to the draft. Burrough turned out to have a cough syrup problem after heading to the Raiders at No6 and Carter became a Superstar Field General with the Colts at No7. After spending the first few years gloating at Burrough’s demise he was forced to create the Cough Syrup Rehabilitation centre to save his public image and endorsement contracts.
RT Rafael Hinton was drafted by the Vikings in the 2nd round as the slowest OL of the class. However, the Vikings OL situation was that bad he was easily named the day 1 starter as training camp opened up. Hinton is still regular used on compare cam as Rich Eisen runs his 40yard dash at about the same speed!
CB Curry Dyer was drafted by the Cardinals at No23 and entered an already loaded DB group. He learned from the best as Pat Peterson took him under his wing. It didn’t count for much though as the amazing Cardinals D would give up zero yards but the Dalton-Taylor hyrbid-QB monster would gain zero yards under Coach Yabbas.
TE Lewis Ball could not ball… drafted by someone in the draft??, he got paid for being the 3rd string TE but was never cut due to his great ability with motivational speeches and expert Hi5s. He currently tours his self help show “If I can get paid to sit, so can you” about minimum effort and maximum reward working.
The Cleveland Browns have rocketed from their normal high draft pick
status to unbeatable SML Superbowl favourites, writes the legendary
Scoop McLeak.
Speaking at the Hogwarts training centre today, Coach Hiero replied
to what he described as 'non-believing hacks' that the Browns have
swept all before them with good old fashioned football ethics based on
hard work, technical superiority and the freak Myles Garrett.
He hissed “we have won our last 4 games with a combined score of
156-29, and that includes an excellent Vikings team. We prepare the
right way and that is our secret to success. We developed our method
of preparation last season and are now reaping the rewards”.
Some observers are amazed at how most Browns games are over by
Half-time as Cleveland threaten to take the mighty Cowboys crown
as the team to beat in Europe's toughest league. However, some are
not so complementary regarding the all conquering Browns' tactics.
Undercover reporter Flipper Blowhole said “this team is way too good.
There's something going on that's very strange. The rest of the league
should ignore practicing and search for horcruxes instead”.
Coach Epone's plan to sneak unnoticed into the playoffs
has fell apart as the team are yet to lose after 7 games.
The previously unbeaten and surprise team of the
season so far, New England, were the latest to fall to
the talented Falcons.
Experienced Coach Epone explained, we have Dallas
and Minnesota to play as well as being in a real tough
division so we were hoping to stay off the radar and
do our business. We know we have a great roster
and the hardest part is keeping the players focused.
I'm not cruel, but I do encourage my players to 'execute,
or be executed'.
Nothing too extreme then Coach??
League headquarters Philadelphia:
Hot off the press today as news trickles out
from downtown Philly after today's committee
meeting about the current trade situation.
Scoop McLeak reports exclusively from the
darkened, high security backroom in
Hooters:- Today I have seen many serious
faces and much grinding of teeth, but once
Bishbosh left it all calmed down. It appears
that too many people are not doing things
the right way and the league are on the
verge of installing CCTV and hi-tech audio
in all team's war room facilities. The Bears

Trubisky-gate is the major shock so far this season, as
QB boy wonder and No2 overall draft pick Mitch 'Biscuit'
Trubisky has attempted to end it all after learning he
had been traded to the Jags for a low pick, ageing
Tackle and a bag of chips.
Illinois Samaritans have confirmed speaking to an
unnamed caller from Chicago who only identified himself
as No10 and, after heavy sobbing, mumbled saviour.
It is believed Coach Zill's unconventional methods
and love of RB Leonard Fournette have destroyed the
latest NFL prodigy. Let's be honest here, The jags
could have kept their picks and asked Broke Bortles
to hand off to teachers pet Fournette.
The latest SML phenomenon has arrived in New York and the rest of the league are frantically
trying to find ways to stop the behemoth Jet Tight End, Bucky Hodges. Known to teammates as
Q-Tip, Jet Coach Frazer has moulded the giant kangaroo/raptor cross into a serious force and
league secondaries are being made to look like, well, most of the league's secondaries.
Not to be confused with an ageing sci-fi character from the 70's, Duck Dodgers is a real life
cartoon character and leads the league in receptions. Let's hope the Jet's rebuilding is a success
as this guy needs a few pieces around him to make Gronk an after-thought at the annual Tight
End 'Remember When We Blocked' Convention.
Watch out for Gang Green next season. Free neck braces for all.
Scoop's Offensive End:-
Does Coach Evans have an
off button? Can Eternal speak?
Can Zill stop? Is Bishbosh
really senile? Who will Brza
shoot first – Static or himself?
Is Mattanite just pretending to
be rebuilding? Has Warrior
finally broken the NFC's will
to win rings – for Hiero?
Will Bartell explode when Tom
retires. Will Tom explode if
Bartell doesn't?
Can Para's Chiefs keep
winning? How is Tyreek Hill
82 CiT?
So many questions. But I must
end with the obvious one-
How the heck did the Pack
tie with the Falcons?
Quarterback:
Best Pick: Scotty Fleming, NYG
Value Pick: Zack Morgan, SF
The best QB in the draft, picked by the Giants at number 4! A freak of nature, his fast wheels (95 speed, 90 acceleration) and strong arm (93 throw power) make him the kind of dual threat quarterback every team dreams about. Even though there were some rumors about the Giants wanting to play him as a running back, this guy has pro bowler and future superstar written all over him. The pressure was on GM @zill to replace the recently traded Aaron Rodgers, and he couldn't have done a better job.
Are the 49ers finally ready to move on from Colin Kaepernick?! They certainly have picked their QB of the future with the 66th pick in the draft. Combining great throw power (93) with incredible accuracy (93), this guy is a prototypical pocket passer. He seems to be a fast learner too, and should soon be above the Andy Dalton line when it comes to evaluating the QBs of this league. Great pick by @Fernando24
Running Back:
Best Pick: Dosha Harrison, HOU
Best Value Pick: Quayshawn Hadley, HOU
So how often does this happen?! In a draft very thin in running backs, Texans GM @epone knew he had to hit on his picks to replace last season's work horse Doug Martin. And he did, both of his HBs will become future stars of the game, barring injuries. They are also incredible complimentary to each other. Whereas Dosha Harrison, picked at 56, is your traditional power back at 6ft and with 90 Trucking, Hadley, who went with the 115th pick, is a small, (5'9") great 3rd down back, very eluse, and with great hands to catch the ball out of the back field.
However, both of them need to be coached well and improve their technique quickly, or their low carrying attribute (77 each) will hurt the Texans dearly.
Full Back:
Yeah, right. As if anyone cares... You get those in Free Agency, not in the draft!
Tight End:
Best Pick: Cory Briscoe, TB
Best Value Pick: Dontavis Winston, CIN
What was up with the run on Tight Ends?! In an unexpected development, the TEs flew off the board this time. Everyone seems to be desperate to find the next Gronk. And GM @RobbieBrewis may have just done so! Wide Receiver-like attributes (88 spd/acc/ag) paired with a 6'6" frame, very good hands (79CTH, 81CIT, 85SPC) and good blocking (63pbk, 68rbk, 71ibk) spell "Matchup-Nightmare". It won't surprise me if we see TD spikes all season from this kid who, with his star development, should be part of the Tight End elite by the end of the season. Meanwhile Bengals GM @Warrior9674 picked a TE buddy for Tyler Eifert. Those 2 TE-sets should be seen often during the season in Cincinnati. Once Winston's route running (71) catches up with his good hands and athletics, he should be featured plenty in their offense while blocking (68rbk, 72ibk) the way for Jeremy Hill and Giovanni Bernard.
Wide Receiver:
Best (Value) Pick: Victor Crosby, Hou
Notable WRs: Dareon Riley, NE & Jack Riley, DAL
Arguably the best wide receiver in this draft went to Houston with 51th overall pick. Great hands (86 CTH, 87 SPC, 83 CIT) combined with good athletics (90 speed, 97 acceleration, 95 agility) and a star development trait to quickly improve his poor route running (71) should make this guy the perfect complimentary piece to star wideout Deandre Hopkins. He could even take over kick return (87) duties! When it comes to the other two best wide receiver prospects, only one thing comes to mind: Speed, speed, speed. Jack (95 spd, 93 acc) and Dareon Riley (97 spd, 94 acc) should get open plenty of times. However, they do rely on good play designs by @xxeternalxx and @Static Gator respectively, as their technique leaves something to be desired. But if they get an open catch, be ready for that TD celebration!
Center:
Best Pick: Scott Reves, PIT
Best Value Pick: Sean Knox, NYG
A center that could just as easily play Offensive Tackle?! You better believe it with these two kids! Scott Reves was a great pick by @Blitzburgh4891 and should give Le'Veon Bell plenty of room to run around in. With his 94 strength and 71 speed, nothing will hold him back, and he should've pushed his opponent up 5 yards before you can even say 'Steelers'. However, more than a round later, there would've been another gem at Center available. Sean Knox has the kind of potential you wish to find in a center and he could become the next Nick Mangold in New York, even if it is for the wrong team
Offensive Guard:
Best (Value) Pick: Leroy Gayton, BUF
Boy, do the Jets wish they would've looked at the Offensive Guard prospects to replace LT Ferguson... What a player this guy is! He is fast, (64 spd, 80 acc) strong (91) and has good blocking technique (85 IBK, 86 RBK). With a little coaching to bring his pass block (75) up, which shouldn't take long thanks to his star potential, Gayton could literally play any position on the offensive line. The question is: Will he line up at Guard, or be moved to Right Tackle halfway through the season? In any case, it was a great pick in the middle of the fourth round by @ellius. Shady McCoy is a very happy man right now.
Offensive Tackle:
Best Pick: Deron Owens, SF
Best Value Pick: Taylor Willis, DEN
Ok, so Owens may be a slow learner. But you just don't usually see his combination of movement (69spd, 84acc, 73ag) and strength (95). Pairing this with his good blocking (80pbk, 86rbk, 83ibk) should make the 49ers' new priced rookie's life much, much easier. It's impossible to run around him, much less pushing him out of the way. With the premier prospects at OT gone after the 33rd pick (Dallas and New England should be very happy with their picks as well) Broncos GM @Xipie found a nice prospect with the 55th pick. Arguably the best overall blocker (83pbk, 82rbk, 83ibk) with the strength (91) to boot, Taylor Willis should help both CJ Anderson and Ryan Jeter enormously. The only question mark is: Will his insane acceleration (87) make up for his clear lack of speed (49)?!
Defensive End:
Best Pick: 4-3 DE Sedrick Patrick, HOU
Best Value Pick: 3-4 DE Rashad Harper, PIT
Houston needed to add a pass rusher after the JJ Watt trade, and boy did they get one! Good athletic measurables (84spd, 87acc, 80ag) spell as much trouble as his good pass rushing technique. (80 FMV, 78 PMV) After a bit of coaching from coach @epone, he may even be able to drop into coverage. (71 ZCV) The change from a 3-4 to a 4-3 defense is in full effect here.
How you can pick a player like Harper at the end of the 3rd round (95th pick) is beyond me, but GM @Blitzburgh4891 certainly found good value for a kid with great upside. Very fast for a guy over 300lb (75 spd), this guy looks to me like a poor man's Sheldon Richardson, which is exactly what the Steelers needed after their tough SB loss. Great find, indeed.
However, any coach or GM picking in the first round should be ashamed of themselves; How can you let a monster like RE Chase Ferrell drop to pick 42?! New HC @dean should be ecstatic over this weapon picked by the former Falcons GM. After his first season, this player should be a premier puss rusher who can drop into coverage too! It makes me wonder, since the Eagles have been drooling over Bo Clay ever since he joined the Jets, why didnt GM @brza37 make a move up into the draft to get this kid?!
I'm sorry everybody, you missed out on arguably the best player of this draft class...
Defensive Tackle:
Best DT Pick: Randall Cunningham, SF
Best NT Pick: Daunte Griffin, GB
At first I couldn't really decide between Randall Cunningham and Eric Morales (NYG) but both GMs @Fernando24 and @zill should be very happy here. In the end, the bigger upside convinced me to write about the new 49ers addition. Great speed (74), acceleration (90) and agility (82) for a man over 300lb, Cunningham should prove to be a disruptive force on the interior in San Francisco new look 4-3 defense. His incredible strength (89) combined with good technique (84BSH, 82PMV, 88PUR) should really help their run defense.
The strongest defensive prospect in this draft, Griffin was a great pick by Cheesehead @bigjimmyaston to anchor their defense. A bit on the light side (310lb) he will have to make up for it with his great strength (94).
Having the best hands of all defensive tackles (83BSH, 85PMV, 82TCK) should really help as well.
Outside Linebacker:
Definitely the most curious draft position to write about, I'll have to give a bit of an intro before making my picks: The 4 best outside linebackers in this draft were picked within 7 picks:
Duncan Drake, CHI by GM @Stas at 21,
Bryan Warren, DEN by GM @Xipie at 23,
Cason Royster, HOU by GM @epone at 24,
Derek Blake, NYG by GM @zill at 27.
All GMs have made great choices here, in the end it was simply a matter of luck. However, I gotta give it to Houston, who picked the player that was number 3 on yours truly's draft board
An absolute athletic terror with great speed, acceleration and agility (87 each) Royster looks like your prototypical 4-3 linebacker, able to cover the field from side to side, defend the pass, (78 ZCV) and stop the run. (86 TCK) I personally would play him on the inside, but that is for the Texans to decide.
Inside Linebacker:
Without a doubt the weakest position in this draft. I would've loved to mention the good value the Eagles GM @brza37 picked up here with the 120th pick. He got the 4th best MLB this draft had to offer, but at 66 OVR, it's anything but a home run. Is Jeffery Gordon is going to get cut?
Cornerback:
Best Pick: Tyrone Norwood, SEA
Best Value Pick: Alante Fairley, STL
First of all: To call a first Rounder a good value pick may be a bit of a stretch, but in a draft with only 4 starting caliber cornerbacks, Fairley was the last one taken by GM @brunty but he must be very happy with the pick.
At 6'0, with great speed (91) and good acceleration (89), who can dominate almost any WR in press (88) coverage, this guy will be a great upgrade for the Rams secondary. He is a prototypical cornerback who has the potential to be an island come playoff time.
However, Fairley is nothing compared to Norwood, who already is one of the most versatile corners in the NFL just coming out of college and with tremendous potential to be the next Chris Harris Jr, and a great Sherman-replacement for Seattle. Number 2 on my own draft board , he can play press (87) due to his unbelievable strength (85), make up for it with his athetlicism (89spd, 90acc) and follow the opponent's best receiver all over the field in man coverage (88). Once his awareness (only 65, normal for rookies) catches up with his good understanding of zone coverages (87), he should be able to make plays all over the field for HC @Eaglewolfenstein.
Safety:
Best Pick: FS DeSean Fitzgerald, BUF
Best Value Pick: SS Treyvon Scott, DEN
By far the easiest choices, these two players stand above and beyond any other prospect of their respective position. How I could miss a stud like Treyvon Scott is beyond my understanding, but luckily for GM @Xipie, he didn't and added a fast (87spd, 86acc) and hard hitting (85HPW) safety to his secondary with the 87th pick of the draft. He already is a good run defender (82 PUR, 71 TCK) with great intelligence for a rookie (77 AWR, 79 PRC) who can hold his own in man coverage (76) against Running Backs and solid Tight Ends, but will need to improve his understanding of NFL-level zone coverages (77) to become a playmaker for this Broncos team. In any way, this kid has future pro-bowler written all over him.
So why isn't he considered the best safety in the draft? Because there is a player coming out of LSU who could easily be considered the next Earl Thomas! Elite athleticism and coverage skills (90spd, 87acc, 83ZCV) should allow the Bills' defensive coordinator @ellius to run Seahawks-like single deep zone coverage plays without surrendering the big plays. If a single player can add a whole new dimension to your defense, he truly is one of the best picks in the draft.
A sub standard rookie draft is now history and we'll find out below who has been a good Scout and who were the slackers.
If you feel the need to cry, please hit the share button.
1. DAL - CB - Ashton Gresham 81 OVR Fast
The Big D came up real small last season. They've got holes at just about every position on the roster. This was an easy pick for Dallas. They could have threw a dart at their draft board and found an improvement. Gresham is a huge upgrade and fills one of several needs. CLAP
2. CHI - QB - Lary Elmore 85 OVR Fast
Bears new HC working hard to rebuild. QB best place to start. It is debatable whether Elmore deserved to be the first QB off the board but in this star studded QB class you really can't go wrong. CLAP
3. JAX - LOLB - Shredrick House 82 OVR Star
House has a ton of potential and the skills to make an immediate impact for a toothless Jaguar's D. House will help put some bite back in Jacksonville. CLAP
4. ATL - CB - Sherman Ivory 79 OVR Star
What no QB?? Ivory has speed to burn and a ton of potential but why on earth no QB? Ryan is on the decline and there were still 3 franchise QBs left on the board. CRAP
5. STL - QB - Skylar Pruitt 81 OVR Star
Bradford never lived up to his draft position. This pick should fare better as the Sky is the limit with Pruitt. Good call - someone tell Atlanta. CLAP
6. BAL - TE - Issac Sapp 82 OVR Fast
Good player - wrong position. Ravens could have gone anywhere with this pick, except TE!! CRAP
7. TEN - LE - Khrystian Nix 84 OVR Star
The Titans sure do love Triple Whoppers. There isn't one defensive lineman on their roster under 300 pounds. The Titans have greater needs but Nix is a beast. Considering how they did in the rest of the draft I'll give this one a CLAP
8. OAK - LT - Vorheese Lucas 82 OVR Fast
Great pick, Vorheese is a true beast that should protect Carr's backside for the next 12 years. CLAP
9. ARI - ROLB - Reynaldo Clarke 83 OVR Fast
Oh dear! QB Ward still on the board and the Cards take a back-up LB. I guess they believe in low-profile free agent Brock? CRAP
10. MIA - QB - Chip Ward 83 OVR Star
Kind of interesting this, he's better than Tannehill (slightly) but Miami had greater needs. Ward is a star in the making but this team is too poor to spend another top 10 pick on a QB. CRAP
11. BUF - DT - Brian Hart 76 OVR Fast
Hart has potential but not as a NT. He's quick but not strong or heavy enough to anchor in the middle of their 3-4. A decent player, who doesn't fit the system and at a position thats already well-stocked at pick 11? Irrefutable proof you cannot always trust the cpu! CRAP
12. SD - LT - Fitz Blake 85 OVR Fast
This draft class was loaded with QB talent but had even more talent at LT. In my top 17 I had 5 - count em 5 - LTs. The Bolts have their franchise QB in Foles. Now they have their franchise anchor for the line. Irrefutable proof you can always trust the cpu! CLAP
13. SF - WR - JJ Montgomery 77 OVR Fast
Desperate for a wideout and got a top one. At The U, JJ only ran Flies and Screens so he definitely needs to work on his route running. But he's a quick learner and has all the other skills to succeed. Maybe San Fran can risk throwing the odd pass now and again. CLAP
14. GB - LE - Marlin Wade 73 OVR Star
Right position, wrong player. "Experts" say he's got a ton of potential but I just don't see it. Bench fodder. CRAP
15. WAS - LE - Donavon Powe 69 OVR Avg
MLB or DE, pretty obvious really - although not to the Skins. Powe was the lowest rated player taken in the first round and his ceiling doesn't look al that high either. Coach Brunty has been known to make a lot out of little (see Duke IsaNacho). Nevertheless, Donavon lacks the Power to be a true impact player worthy of a first round pick. CRAP
16. TB - LOLB - D'Andre Penn 74 OVR Avg
Ignore his low OVR, Penn is the best cover LB in this draft. Will form a great Nickel duo with Lavonte David. CLAP
17. CAR - FS - Cameron Mauro 79 OVR Star
Great pick this. Star safety fills a massive void for the Panthers. Watch out for Carolina this season. It will be tough to score on this unit. CLAP
18. NE - LT - Daniel Parham 86 OVR Fast
Brady needs a WR, NE have Nate Solder. Why a LT? Looks like Giselle is calling the shots here to keep her husband from getting hit. It may not be a need but at least Parham is good. Tom got the top rated prospect in this class to cover his ass. NE fans get ready for 9-man protection and jump balls to Gronk. CLAP
19. CLE - MLB - Ace Sanford 78 OVR Avg
The Browns must have been in dreamland when the Skins whiffed at 15 and left Sanford on the board. They get the top MLB in the draft at a position of need. Monster. CLAP
20. PHI (via HOU) - ROLB - Shakeel Phillips 69 OVR Star
Shakeel has not impressed the birds since his arrival. They moved up in the draft and thought they secured a sure fire star in the making. But somewhere between the combine, where he impressed, and draft day Shakeel must have discovered the joys of the all-you-can eat buffet.
Shakeel eating a cheesesteak on the field in his first Pre-Season action
He put on 35 pounds of pure gut and it shows on the field so far in training camp. He's got great intangibles and potential if he can just lay off the cheesesteaks and beer-batter dipped fried butter balls. That is a big IF though. So for now this pick looks like CRAP!
21. PIT - WR - Franklin Russell 79 OVR Star
Shocked the Steelers left Lauderdale on the board, but with Russell they have an immediate impact receiver with star potential. They picked up QB Orleans Quick in the second round so they may have a guy who can get Russell the ball as well. CLAP
22. DEN - QB - Layne Lauderdale 81 OVR Fast
The King is dead! Long live the King! Hail the new Peyton Manning! Layne broke Peyton's records at Tennessee and he aims to bring Denver something that Peyton couldn't deliver them - a Lombardi Trophy. Pick of the round at 22. CLAP
23. PHI - SS - Jazz Banks 80 OVR Fast
Seems hard to please the Birds HC these days, but Banks will sure put some much needed jazz into the Philly rear guard. CLAP
24. DET - LOLB - Santez Hatcher 77 OVR Star
Athletic, big-hitter with a high ceiling. Can't get better than that this late in the round. Hatcher will form a formidable partnership with Levy on the outside, nice choice. CLAP
25. KC - HB - Dionte Dawkins 83 OVR Star
Jamaal Charles was shipped off this offseason for a bevy of picks and a monster D-lineman. I'm not sold on Dawkins being able to fully replace Charles' production, but his star dev makes him worth a shot. CLAP
26. KC (via NYJ) - RE - Navassa Love 76 OVR Fast
I would have gone with a WR here to pair up with Cobb but Navassa is a massive man that you just don't say no to at 6'7" 301 pounds. Not many holes on KC's defense and Big Love is a short-term slight upgrade with the potential to be an impact player. CLAP
27. NO - CB - Trenten Oliver 79 OVR Fast
This was also a deep draft for CBs and Oliver may be the best of the lot. Saints fill a big void with a real playmaker. CLAP
28. NYG - WR - Trevante Rowland 79 OVR Star
The G-Men needed beef at DT, not another flyer - they already have Beckham and Cruz for that. Expect a ton of 3 WR sets from NY this season. Rowland is nice, but a luxury they can't seem to afford. CRAP
29. MIN - LOLB - Glenn Wooten 74 OVR Slow
Vikes go for speed over talent. Wooten may be fast but he's a slow learner. I don't think he'll be able to pick up the football skills necessary to truly utilize his speed. Should've gone CB here. To make matters worse Minnesota made the same mistake in Round 2 opting for raw speed over any resemblance of football skills. CRAP
30. IND - WR - Spenser Hanna 78 OVR Slow
At 6'6" 240, Spenser Hanna can jump out of the gym (96 JMP). Hanna will be a legit redzone threat for the Colts but that wasn't needed. He may be the most polished receiver in the class but just like his height, most think he's about reached his ceiling already. Just hope a monster DT isn't still on the board. CRAP
31. CIN - DT - Churphy Armstrong 81 OVR Star
SB finalists add a nose tackle to play alongside Geno. Take notice: you better run outside vs. the Bengals because the middle is locked down. "Geno and The Churph" sounds like a Buddy Cop flick but this duo ain't funny. They will haunt opposing RBs for years to come. CLAP
32. SEA - CB - Aukeem Easley 79 OVR Star
Just as the Cowboys could have thrown a dart at the wall and found an upgrade, the Hawks' star-studded roster couldn't have found an upgrade at any position with even the best player in this draft class. Nevertheless, the Champs found a gem of a NB to complement Sherman and Maxwell who also has the potential to eventually replace Sherman as the premier CB in the league. The rich get richer. May as well just keep the trophy Coach! Nice pick. CLAP
And now the winner of the 2016 SML Draft!
This was a tough decision as there were two teams that absolutely killed it this year. Tennessee drafted 2 of the top 4 prospects in this class and 3 of the top 19 overall. That is an amazing feat but they should have used some of that draft prowess to nab one of the 4 franchise QBs available this draft. St. Louis had similar success drafting as they pulled 2 of the top 10 prospects and 3 out of the top 20 overall. However, St. Louis not only got immediate impact players with loads of potential t LT (Jahred Hobbs fast DEV) and WR (Larone Marshall star DEV), they also got a franchise QB to boot in Skylar Pruitt. That is a remarkable job of working the board and for that they earned this year's award for Best Drafter: Scoop's 3 CLAPS Award!
Unfortunately, for the Rams my award means nothing. Heck, I don't even have a shiny trophy to give out for it. The Rams will have to prove their draft class can do it on the field now or find a way to make Commish EbeBRZA Scrooge open his wallet so we can have a fitting trophy made for this prestigious award. Luckily for St. Louis Coach Xipie, I was able to scrounge up enough cash by digging in the seat coushions at the league office and got the Rams this snazzy T-Shirt so they can always remember the day they won the Draft.

We'll be kicking off in just a few days now. The league has been created using the latest roster update and invites have been sent. Here's all the important information about the league in one place.
You can now join the league on PS4 with the invite.
When you join on PS4 it is important that you all CREATE A COACH. No existing coaches will be allowed because of the huge differences in coach levels that effect XP and progression. We want everyone to start off on as even a playing field as possible so creating a coach is the only way to ensure this.
If you didn't receive an invite check your PSN Messages for info on how to search for the league and the password for joining.
Games and roster moves won't be active until Saturday though.
Our league stats and roster management site is also now set up:
http://daddyleagues.com/SMLEurope
If you aren't already registered at Daddy Leagues, you need to do that too and request to join our league there because all roster transactions (releases, signings etc.) should be done only on that website. The website also lays out the stats in a much better format than the EA site and will be the center of other cool features like Player of the Week and Game of the Week.
Its free to register and use all the features so just click the button "Register" to do that. The button "Join Now" is only for commissioners to host a league and costs $33 for a year but I've already paid the fee. If you would like to contribute I won't turn down a donation but its not necessary.
The league twitch site is also set up and had its first test run on Sunday. You can find that here:
http://www.twitch.tv/simmaddenleagueeurope
We'll be using that to stream the Game of the Week (for even numbered weeks in game) every Monday generally around 8pm UK time (21:00 CET). Any other users that want to stream other games or have them archived can also do that there too. Just contact me for details.
On Saturday once the league is advanced to the Pre-Season you can practice, play your game and upgrade players or coaches on PS4. If you have a human opponent use the Game Scheduling thread. The same rules apply to Pre-Season games, especially regarding padding stats and running up the score. Starters should not be kept in the game more than 2 quarters. Any signs that that is not being followed will result in a suspension. Roster transactions (releases and signings) should only be done at daddyleagues.com/smleurope .
For the Pre-Season, a maximum of 2 free agents can be signed per team. This is to give everyone a chance at signing players and to keep one team from completely upgrading their roster with the sometimes highly overrated free agent pool. If more than 2 players are signed during the pre-season you will be forced to cut them and will have to deal with the cap penalty. Once the regular season starts you are all free to sign who you want.
The regular season will begin on Wednesday January 1st and will last until the morning of Sunday Jan. 5th.
I hope thats enough info to get everyone started. If you have any other questions feel free to post them here.
