Are the Purple People Eater's Back?

After a rough 0-3 start the Vikings have won 2 straight divisional games and the defense is looking stout.

The Vikings have outscored their opponents 59-6, have allowed 87 total yards, forced 5 INTs, 1 fumble, and had 11 sacks over those two games. Veteran Sam Bradford has gone 20/24 with over 300 yards passing, and 4 TDs. Rookie Dalvin Cook finally topped the 100 yard mark against the Bears this week.

All this without veteran defesnive end Everson Griffin who returns to the lineup in Week 6. If the Vikings can keep this train rolling against the Packers and move to 3-0 in the division it will be huge in the hunt to be NFC North champs.

Win-(less) No More

The Vikings entered today's game a bit down after 3 straight rough losses to start the season but finished with their first win knocking the Lions from the unbeaten ranks.

Coach Joeyvowels had this to say, "We don't feel like we played bad. The offense didn't make enough plays and the defense could only do so much when we're not putting up points."

This week Case Keenum received the starting nod but after 2 sub-par series veteran Sam Bradford was sent out to lead the offense. He finished 10/11 for 128 yards and 1 touchdown. The defense once again played stellar holding the Lions to -11 total yards of offense.

Even after this win Coach Joeyvowels and the offense still has a lot of work to do if they expect to compete in the NFC. The offense is still sluggish and the running game is not performing like it should after drafting Dalvin Cook, signing Latavius Murray via free agnecy, and the electric Jerick McKinnon all on the roster.

Next week the Vikings travel to Soldier Field to take on rookie Mitchell Trubisky in their second of three straight divisional games.

Who wants it more?

Vikings V Steelers

Both teams are coming off big Week 1 losses and neither can afford a second straight loss. Big Ben and young Teddy combined for 7 interceptions in Week 1. Sounds like the solution is don't turn the ball over. The Vikings definitely have the better defense in this matchup but the Steelers boast one of the best offenses. This game has the potentail to see both teams combine for 30 or both teams score over 30. Should be a fun one to watch.

NFC Rankings

  1. Cowboys- I haven't played Trinitybangz yet but he's dominating in the competitive ECG League. I think he prevails over Jammed Bread in the AFC East because the Cowboys have less holes than the Skins
  2. Saints- He thinks he's back.  I think he's washed up.  We'll see this season.  He has a much better team than Diddy.  Usually it’s a 50/50 game when they play.  Tie goes to the higher rated team.
  3. Rams- Tough week 1 loss by Twanski.  He has some time to figure out QB as the odds on favorite in the division.  The NFC is deep but Twanski has to feel confident if he gets matched-up with Keebler again.
  4. Vikings- I think Vikings are a top 3 or 4 team.  Joey made playoffs 3 out of 4 years with the Falcons and rarely loses games he should win.  I think the Packers could give him some trouble but year 1 I have to go with the better team.
  5. Bucs- Diddy ran the NFC in MCL the past 4 seasons.  Luckily, Watson is in the AFC.  Him and Keebler should compete for the division and run into each other in the playoffs, too.  The NFC is stacked.  It will be fun to see how it all plays out.
  6. Redskins- Another user with a bad week 1 loss.  Jammed had a solid run three seasons ago in MCL, but his Browns fell apart the past two seasons.  He and Nicholson looked good today vs Diddy in a money game.  He'll have to limit turnovers if he wants to make it as a wildcard.
  7. Packers (Brandon farmer)- I've seen this guy compete with the Browns.  Brandon sends heat and gets big plays.  He and Joey should have a good battle for the division.  Loser may end up out of the playoffs
  8. Giants (OffBubba)-  Bubba may be one of the most underrated players in the league.  He consistently made the playoffs with the Bucs and has some quality wins under his belt.  The Giants aren't great but are good enough that a solid user can make the playoffs if they overcome that mouth-breather Eli.  He could be a surprise division winner if a few bounces go his way.
  9. Cards-  I think Donny is just as good of a user as Twanski, but the Cards are a few notches below the Rams.  I'm not sure how Palmer and the Cardinals receiving core fit his pass first style.
  10. Panthers- Poetic Smoke has beaten some solid users his past few seasons in MCL.  The Panthers are nice offensively, but have holes in the secondary and dline.  Diddy and Keebler will be too much.
  11. Bears- Can always bank on two things in MCL- Sub is gonna get his bears and he's gonna compete.  He made the playoffs this past year but I think it will take a year for him to get the Bears good enough to compete.
  12. Seahawks- Seahawks are solid and I haven't played Deebo much, but I think Donny is the only one with a legitimate shot of challenging Twanski for the division.
  13. Lions- Lloyd is tough but is just a little too inconsistent.  He likes to air it out so this team may fit his scheme perfectly and surprise us all.
  14. Falcons- Preacher finally gets a good team, but he may be in the toughest division.  Tough break.  Solid week 1 upset already, though.
  15. 49ers- Chris Da Truth surprised us all by taking the 49ers too early in the draft.  I respect he stuck to his guns though.  The 49ers have some pieces.  They're probably a year or two away from really competing though.
  16. Eagles- I don’t remember the last time C3 finished a full season.

AFC Rankings

  1. Chargers- GOAT
  2. Browns- They're the favorite in the AFC North.  Almighty had a strong showing a few seasons back with the 49ers.  If he wasn’t so cheap, Diddy would have had a challenge for the division this past season.  The Browns may be tough to win with season 1 but he's the best user in the division
  3. Texans- Ghost beat Watson to represent the NFC in the superbowl in the 3rd season of MCL.  This is one of the only times I haven’t seen him without the lowly Lions.  I think this Texans team fits his ball control/defensive scheme better.
  4. Bills-#BillsMafia won a nailbiter week 1.  Teezy is always consistent and should represent the AFC East come playoff time
  5. Titans-  The AFC South is hands down the toughest division top to bottom.  QFIU won the competitive AFC North last season in MCL.  He's running hot (and stretch).  This is probably the toughest division in the AFC top to bottom.  Any of the 4 users could win the division
  6. Raiders- Jamar just can't shake me.  He built the Bill's into a playoff team.  The Raiders have more pieces and can compete right away.  He has a solid shot at the wildcard
  7. Colts-Not going to lie, I had zeroz23 at the bottom of the AFC last week just because I have never played him.  After an impressive win over Watson's big brother, I have to give him the nod over Willie at this point.  The season is long though.  I look forward to seeing how the South will play out
  8. Steelers- Polk had a rough week one outing.  If he plays to his strengths and keeps his cool, he has a shot at the division.  He also has a shot of being booted by week 5.
  9. Jaguars- We all saw what Watson did with Zeke. He'll do much of the same with Fournette.  Willie has some really solid wins and a good playoff run season 3 of MCL.  He's not a great regular season player and this division is too tough to lose games you should win.
  10. Ravens- EBDOG made a good run and upset me last season of Madden 17 with the Ravens.  He knows this team.  If he gets back into madden mode he's going to be a hell game for the rest of the AFC.
  11. Pats- This team isn't as stacked as everyone thinks. With the limits on trades it will be interesting to see if TJ can trade some of his pass catching surplus for linebacker and rb help.  Still, he has Brady, Gronk, speed at WR and a solid secondary on All-Madden to compete.
  12. Jets- Wassgood played spoiler to end season 4 of mcl. He's tough, but it's tougher to win year 1 with the Jets.  Here's some free advice, get Hackenburg to Superstar and the Jets can compete in 2019.
  13. Broncos- 30 has always been a thorn in my side so he had to pick the Broncos.  Without a QB it will be tough for him to compete for the division in 2018
  14. Chiefs- I'm not too familiar with this user.  I think we've never played against each other before.  Regardless, the Chiefs have a lot of pieces.
  15. Dolphins- Dolphins have some interesting pieces but this is another new guy that I've never played against.  Welcome to MCL
  16. Bengals-Flatliner gets his games in and competes.  The Bengals are solid but the AFC is just too deep
