The Saints hosted the Houston Texans inside the jam packed Mercedes-Benz superdome. The new head coach preached discipline, focus, teamwork and effort all offseason. The Texans had two big plays on offense early in the game but after that the head coach went to his team got them fired up and never looked back.
The offense struggled at times due to the Texans blitzing overloading one side of the line making it impossible to protect the young qb but with the right calls they made the plays when needed and the defense took care of the rest. 4 sacks which 3 came from defensive captain cam jordon and 3 picks da #boonkgang was in full effect. Saints won 26-14 which 19 were unanswered.
First offensive play from scrimmage the saints all pro running back Alvin kamara took the ball 75 yards for his first touchdown of the season. The coach considered him the player of the game finishing with 150 yards 3 touchdowns on 13 carries with another 25 yards receiving. Michael Thomas scored the second touchdown of the game on a rpo pass to get the saints back in the game and take the momentum for good.
This may have been the most crucial moment of the game 3 and 2. The head coach stated he knew had the perfect call because the Texans been calling 3-4 pinch buck 0 all second half and knew it was coming. I called the read option and knew my qb would be them pay with their over aggressiveness.
Marshon lattimore proves why he’s one of the best corners in the game. He held all pro deandre Hopkins to ZERO RECEPTIONS!!! Lattimore had caught more passes than Hopkins. Here’s his a highlight of how he had things on lock ????
