2021 Minnesota Vikings Mid-Season Report

As the (7-2) Vikings sit in 2nd place in thier division, there's alot of believe that this can even be a better team going foward. Some will say don't get too excited about the Vikings because their wins are based off their opponents sub-par records. Still the Vikings as a whole rank in the top 15 in offense & top 10 in defense. Individuals like 2nd year QB Blake Hyde contiues to show growth as a leader and competitor with his pro-bowl looking performance so far. 6 year pro-bowler Stefon Diggs was on pace for a career year before the league suspended him for 6 games due PED's. This could'nt come at the worst time as the team is making a push the playoffs. Diggs commented after the suspension "I'm truely sorry for dissappointing the Vikings organization, my teamates and our fans. I 100% own up to this mistake & vow to not make this same mistake again! I can't wait to join my teamates to hopefully push for a playoff spot." Diggs is expected back to join the team on Week 16 against the Eagles. "Next man up! That's all it comes down too. We have a lot of talented wide recievers along with tight ends, that as a group should hold down the fort till Digg's returns.", OC stated. The addition of Rb Marlon Mack has paid dividends for the running game as he's averaging 4.8 ypc on 121 touches & 7 TD's to go along with 176 yards & 3 TD's in the passing game. This is a huge boost for a running game that's led by a very young offensive line with little expections in the running game. As for the defensive, there's not one star or a couple that stand out because everyone is contributing as a whole. Mike Zimmer stated, "Our guys this year is by far the most cohesive group I've been around with since I've been here. I think a lot of that has to do with the continutity of keeping the same faces around. They've really come together as a unit and have become one!" With 7 games left on the schedule and 2 left against the division leading Chicago Bears, we will soon find out if this team will stay the course and deliver.

Houston Texans 2023 Regular Season Review

Well the Texans finished the season (11-5) and 2nd in the division along with a playoff berth. It’s been an and up down season as the team as shown flashes of being flawless but turnovers continues to be the teams achilles heal. We were (2-4) in the division and and (7-5) in conference. Deshaun Watson finished a respectable 2nd in the league of passing  yards with (4,111) to go along with 25 Touchdowns but 28 interceptions. The team didn’t do a great job of protecting Watson as he was sacked a career high 59 times but having young wideouts and running backs played a role as well. One thing Watson was great at was spreading the ball around as 3 WRs and TE each had more than 50 catches and 800 yards each. WR Antione Hoskins led the way with 61 catches and (1,117) receiving yards. Mays finished the season as the lead rusher with (646) with (4.5) avg. and 9 Touchdowns but RB Burnett & RB Fanene stepped nicely when needing combining for (682) yards and 11 touchdowns. The fans continue ask why DeAndre Hopkins hasn’t returned to action even after being cleared by the team doctors and signing a new multi year contract and it’s anyone’s guess if he will suit for the playoffs as his camp says he’s not ready even though he’s been cleared to play. It’s similar to the Kawhi Leonard saga that he NBA Spurs are going through but the team and players have done a great job of not letting it distract them. The Texans will get a rematch with the New England Patriots playoff wildcard weekend. Texans fell short in a overtime thriller where the Patriots didn’t leave any time on the clock after winning the coin toss and kicking a field goal with less then 30 seconds left. Can the Texans learn from that game and go into Foxboro leaving with a win? Will the Texans settle for a great regular season even though there was no expectations of making the playoffs in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL? Stay tuned this weekend as the nation will see. #Houstonpride

Houston Texans Mid-Season Report

After a rough start losing DeAndre Hopkins in the pre-season for 9 weeks things didn’t get any better with a season opener lost to the Titans. Even though we turned things around in Week 2 pulling out a win against the Falcons, we lost promising starting rookie RB Sheldon Mays for 4 weeks and starting MLB Josh Vickers for 5 weeks. Hopes to salvage the season with a rough start of injurties, began to ponder on everyone’a mind. Deshaun Watson wasn’t going to let that be an excuse for the team. Since then the Texans have won 5 games in row against some stiff competition. Not only has Watson put the team on his back but he leads the league in passing yards (1,714) going to a much needed bye week. RB Nick Burnett has step up with the absence of Sheldon Mays staying in the top 7 of all RBs in rushing yards with (412) and 5.2 RPC. WR Hoskins, WR Smith-Schuster along with TE Shaheen have all stepped up with the absence of Hopkins with average of 20 catches and 400 yards each. The bye week couldn’t have come at better time with the 5 game win streak and the return of thier star weapons WR Hopkins and RB Mays. The Texans will need all hands on deck finishing the reminder of the season with 6 of the games on the road and 5 divisional games that should determine the winner of the AFC South. The offense has really been the strength of the team as the defense ranks at the bottom half of the league in all catagories. A serious make over of defense is needed after the bye to bring more pressure to the QB and creating more turnovers. The Texans can’t continue to win these close games and be great on one side of the ball. These next 3 games should show how thier going to finish the season.
