Flailing Cardinals

The Cardinals are having a rough go to start the season, dropping 3 of their 4 games so far, and ranking near the bottom of the league in offense and defense.  The owner has made it clear that the offensive line needs to have some big men brought in to help move the pile, and some of the older guys are free to look for a contending team to chase that elusive championship ring. Some of the guys that are taking his advise are Adrian Peterson, Carson Palmer, Larry Fitzgerald, Karlos Dansby, Tramon Williams, Antione Bethea, and Tyvon Branch. In return, the team is hoping to get some offense line help, and i willing to move picks as well to do so.

Diablos back on track

The Diablos are back on track to compete for a playoff position just weeks after aquiring Big Ben. At first it looked like he was out of his mind, having no clue who to throw to, but the past 3 games have been much different. From a 6 interception, 3 TD game against the Steelers, Big Ben has thrown for 5 TDs without any interceptions in the past 3 games, while completing 73% of his passes, and winning 2 of the 3 games. He played well enough to win all 3, but the defense couldnt hold up against the rival Raiders. It will still be a tough road to the playoffs with the Broncos showing no signs of slowing down, but a wildcard spot is very possible.

Roethlisberger Concussed

Big Ben seems to be more confused than ever, or must have had a pre-existing concussion when he was acquired by the Diablos. Either way, he doesnt know what team he is on, or who to throw to anymore. It may be that he started out in KC last year after a long time in Pittsburgh, and was traded not once but twice this season, first to the Huskies, then back to the AFC West to the Diablos. Or it could be that he thought he was still on the Steelers and was throwing to the right jerseys. None the less, Big Ben threw 6 interceptions in his debut on the Diablos, leading to the loss. The Steelers are tremendous against the run, and have a very fast team all around, which is why Big Ben continued to throw the ball. Shady Mccoy almost had 100 yds on the ground, but most of that came from 2 big runs. The rest was either a few yards, or a loss of yards. The Diablos defense played pretty well given that they were defending a short field many times, but came up with 3 picks of their own. Special teams had a fake punt that turned the game around early. After going down 21-0 in the 1st quarter, a decent offensive drive stalled out, but on a 4th down and several yards to go, the unexpected fake worked perfectly to lead to the first points of the day. In the end, the offense failed on too many occasions, and Big Ben will be evaluated for the concussion of a lifetime.

Draft

The Diablos first draft seemed to be a lackluster one compaired to much of the league, but did deliver some promising young talnts. Most notible are HB Charone Swanson and MLB Reggie Cadogan. Charone is a straight line power back with above average speed for his style of runner. While he won't be trying to get around people or make them miss, but he will run right through you or stiff arm your ass to the ground. He had a tremendous first game, albeit preseason, but ran for 181 yards and 2 TDs, breaking an 86 yard TD on his first carry. Cadogan also looked to be a useful rookie starter, playing alongside Bobby Wagner, where I suppose anyone can look pretty good. He had a sack and 6 tackles. Hopefully they can both develop to fill in for the aging players in their positions. Both asked after the team meetings if there was any chance the Diablos were bringing in a new QB, to which the coach said "I f*&@ing hope so".

New Year, New Identity

The Chargers are officially dead, killed off by the Diablos. Although the roster may look mostly the same, the team is expected to be fearless, gutting their opponents in the middle of the field, and tormenting the rest of the league. For 60 minutes every week, whoever is unfortunate enough to face the Diablos will feel like they are in Hell, receiving the beat down of their life, just waiting to be slaughtered.

On the Move

Due to the ineptitude of the NFL management, and previous ownership, the Chargers were moved from San Diego to LA. This move on its own would make sense, but to move the Rams as well the same time has made the Chargers feel unwanted. Once the league year began, the Chargers front office filed relocation paperwork, unsure of where they would end up. Well a decision was made final yesterday, and the Chargers will be moving to Mexico City, taking on a new name, logo, and colors. To ensure the Mexican population understands they are now a part of the 2nd greatest league in the world (behind the NHL), the Chargers will become the Diablos, taking on the Black and Red with pride.

0-3 Does Not Mean Its Over

Although it looks like all doom and gloom for the LA Chargers, history shows that the playoffs are not out of reach after a rough 0-3 start to the season. The Chargers started the season with a close loss to division rival Broncos, followed by a 3 point loss the the Dolphins, and another 3 point game to the hated rival Chiefs. Despite having a top 10 defense in Scoring, Total YPG, and Passing YPG allowed, the Rushing YPG is near the bottom. The offense has struggled with turning the ball over, seeming having a turnover early in each game to make them chace the score. But this Franchise has been through similar times. In 1992, they started 0-4, being outscored 95-29, but finished the season 11-5, winning the first round of the playoffs with a shutout of the Chiefs, before finally losing to the Dolphins in the second round.

The Chargers front office is hard at work to improve the offensive capabilities of the team, and may look for a peice or two on the defensive side of the ball. Recently, Marshal Yanda was brought in to help stabilize the offensive line. There is word that a pass catcher may be in the works as well to help the struggling Tannehill.

Ready for Season

The Chargers are ready for the season, after much anticipation and a very lengthy draft. With the NFL deciding to have a league wide re-draft, the Chargers loaded up on defense. They are poised to stop opposing offenses, and hope to create turnovers and score from the defensive side of the ball, as they anticipate offensive struggles. The offense is lead by Adrian Peterson and Ryan Tannehill. The duo hope to keep them in games, not giving the ball back often, and just managing the game. The defense is led by some of the best there is in the NFL, such as Bobby Wagner, Darius Slay, Michael Bennett, Kam Chancellor, and Jamie Collins. The management is looking to bolster both sides of the ball even more, by moving future draft picks to acquire talent. Only time will tell how far this team can go, as they are in a competitive division, and has the toughest division in the league withing their conference. This is the first and last season they will play in LA, and the last season under the Chargers name and logo. Stay tuned to find out where they are moving to and what team they will become. Hopefully the last season is a memorable one.
