Chargers Week 1 recap

The Chargers welcomed their division rival Chiefs to the Stubhub Center for opening weekend in The Grid. After a rough offseason the coaching staff was looking forward to seeing some fire from the 53 men who made the team and get us off to a 1-0 start. The defense came out on fire especially OLB/De Ingram who put pressure on any Chief that touched the ball! The offense continued to struggle with Phillip Rivers at QB turning the ball over 3 times on bad throws. Even with a rocky start on offense in week 1 the game was still within reach on the last possession only down 7 with just over a minute left. Rivers drove the team down inside the 10 and on 3 straight throws couldn’t find anybody open. With 4th down and no time outs the chargers came out in empty looking for a backside slant that was eventually picked off in the end zone ending the Chargers chance of tying up the game. HC Anthony Lynn after the game had this to say...”We have to get better in key areas of this game, offensive line must allow Phillip time to find those receivers and we need guys fighting to get open. We saw some very good positives but way too many mistakes to beat a good KC team.” Next up for the Chargers a very good Buffalo Bills team and the dangerous Captain Planet.
