Well, it took us 5 weeks but we finally put a notch in the win column. It was a tough game throughout but the men held steadfast and pulled through with a 24-22 win over our division rival Seahawks. For the entire first half it was a thoroughly dominant effort. In the second half things seem to be unwinding a bit. We need these guys to stay focused from kickoff to the final whistle. Far too many mistakes in the second half nearly cost us the game. Wide reciever Hunter DeVries has surprised all of us. As of this writing he leads the league in yards for a WR. I wouldn't expect he'll stay there but he has certainly been a force to this point. Our run game has been all but nonexistent. The offensive line has to do a better job of opening up holes for Virgil and Straughter. Virgil and Straughter also need to be a little more patient and allow time for those holes to develop. All criticism aside I really like what I am seeing from our team right now. While still somewhat inconsistent the defense continues to show alot of promise and a very bright future for the 49ers faithful. Until next time..........#trusttheprocess
After an 0-16 season many questions have to be answered. Most importantly "what are our biggest strengths and what are out biggest weaknesses?" With that in mind we set out this week to make those determinations. While we ranked at the very bottom of the league defensively our defense was on the field far too much of the time because our offense turned the ball over so much. We ranked either first or last in nearly every negative category this past season and it will not happen again. We've been able to answer many of these questions over the course of the last week and I won't be going into alot of detail but we have outlined a plan of action for next season as well as what we need to add via draft or free agency to make this plan a reality. First and foremost I'd like to let the fans know that we will not be moving the first overall pick after all. We want to be absolute certain that we get the player we target in the draft. The best way to do that is remove all doubt by keeping the first pick. We love Jawara Woodard in San Francisco and he will be given ample opportunity to prove he is a #1 quarterback in this league but with next season being a contract year for him we cannot and will not rest on our laurels at the QB position. There are some very talented QB's coming out of college this year. One of them will be coming to San Francisco to compete with Jawara for that coveted position. At last count we had 10 picks in the upcoming draft with 5 of them being in the first 64 and we continue to gauge the interest from other teams in regard to acquiring additional picks. While slim on answers I hope this clears up any doubts fans may have had regarding the future of your 49ers at the quarterback position. There are many holes to fill on our roster but first and foremost is winning the turnover battle and that starts with the guy throwing the ball. Tune in next week when I will provide news on all the picks we made in the draft as well as free agency additions to your 49ers. Until then................#trusttheprocess
Good morning all and welcome back. It's been a rough season, there's really no other way to put it. Even when we played well it wasn't enough to win. We enter week 15 still winless on the season with very tough opponents left on the schedule. Our remaining opponents are the Cardinals, Bengals and Panthers. All of those teams are battling for playoff seeding so our goal moving forward is to play the spoiler and get this team a win before seasons end. As I mentioned last week we started some rookie players to see what we have in these guys. OLB Marcus Langley has been a pleasant surprise. He's holding down his side of the field nicely. SS Finau Snead is out with a season ending injury so we'll rely on yet another rookie to step up and show what he's made of. Rookie QB Cody Kincade will be starting his first game as a 49er next week vs a tough Cardinals team. At this point, we may as well see what we have in this young man. See if he is worth retaining for another year. While this has been a very difficult season for our entire staff we continue to look for the silver lining in the cloud that has followed us this year. Our scouts have been out in full force and I've received some outstanding reports on the rookie class looking to take the next step next season. I'm not going to share too much at this point because we still have 3 games in front of us and I want this team focusing on the task at hand. We must find a way to get these guys a win before the seasons end. Playing spoiler to one of the potential playoff teams we're faced with would go a long way in restoring this teams confidence before winding down the season. Until next week. #trusttheprocess
Good morning all and welcome to my team blog. As any of you that follow me know it's been a disappointing season to this point in San Fran. Article is a couple days later than usual because to be honest I was hoping to avoid writing this type of article at all. We played our week 11 game last night against the division rival Rams. While the team played a much more competitive game we were still unable to get it done throwing an interception in the redzone with inside a minute left in the game. Had we been able to cash in with the TD we would have forced OT. Now to the reason I didn't really want to write this article. As of last nights game we have been mathematically eliminated from any chance at making an appearance in the postseason. That said, it's time to look ahead. While we will continue to look for any and every way to win a game, it will be with some different personnel on the field. We've already identified a bare minimum of five veteran players that will not be 49ers next season. Time to see what we have in some of these younger guys that haven't been given opportunity to play up to this point in the season. The hope here is that we can identify potential starters for next season as well as possibly put together the right group on the field to string together a few wins before we actually reach the post season. It doesn't get any easier going forward. Our remaining opponents for the season average out to well over .500 winning records. Coach Pita while extremely disappointed in the teams performance thus far continues to be very optimistic about what we're building here. I've personally not put any undue pressure on him. I knew going in what he had planned and he gave me a timeframe that he expected was realistic. While neither of us expected to be winless entering week 12 we are both confident that what we're doing in San Francisco is best for this franchise moving forward. Until next time................#trusttheprocess
As those of you that follow this blog know we've gotten off to a rough start. Our defense has given up 35 points per game on average and that simply cannot happen if we expect to compete. We are not the "Air McNair" show nor the "Greatest show on Turf". This team is simply not built that way. Our draft philosophy leans more toward the "grind" of the game. Ground and pound in hopes of opening up the play action looks that are so often successful in this type of game planning. What has happened to this point is we've fallen behind and put our team in poor situations where we've had no choice but to air it out in an attempt to get back in the game. After our week 6 loss I was approached my a media member asking "Are you looking ahead to the draft?" This line of questioning took me by complete surprise. If anyone else is wondering, the answer is "absolutely not!" What we're trying to do is win a game. That's as far forward as anyone in this organization needs to be looking. If I even hear that kind of talk in or around our locker room somebody will be meeting with me in my office. Our coach and training staff were hired on a 3 year commitment. Nearing the midway point of the second season we are not getting the results we had hoped for but I stand by my staff 110%. I firmly believe that what we are building here will not only work but more importantly be successful for years to come. A culture of success takes time as well as the right personnel that will buy into what it is we're doing in San Francisco.
The young guys are discouraged right now and that's to be expected. However, the leaders in our locker room have shown zero signs of backing down. Hopefully, their example in the locker room, the classroom, and on the field is rubbing off on the youth of our team. I have to believe that it is. In our weekly meeting yesterday Coach Pita expressed a confidence I've not seen from him in some time. When I quizzed him about it he said "Woodard is on fire". Must've been a great week of practice. I certainly hope it translates on the field. Our next three games are two division games and one against last years AFC conference champion. Until next week..........................#trusttheprocess
Where to begin this week? Saying it has been a tough start to the new season would be an understatement. Our defense is currently sitting dead last in total defense and yards given up. That particular stat can't be entirely put upon them though. Our offense leads the leagues in turnovers thereby keeping our defense on the field much longer in each game than they should be. While we feel we drafted what we believe will be solid offensive linemen they have yet to find the cohesion necessary to open up holes for our running back or protect the QB long enough for him to make his reads. That said, Jawara must quit forcing the pass. If it's not there he has to learn to either take the hit or throw the ball away. While the above may sound discouraging for our fans I personally still have faith these men will come together and win us some ball games. Coach Pita in his initial analysis said "This team will not be turned around overnight, it takes time to build a winning culture". We will continue to grind knowing that on the other side of every hardship is a lesson to be learned. I can't write this in good conscience without mentioning a couple of the bright spots thus far this season. Jameson Finley at wide reciever has been at the top of his game when Jawara is able to get him the ball. Second year wide reciever Hunter DeVries has surprised even his own coaches with his athleticism and some of the incredible catches he's come down with. There is still much to be excited about in the 49er nation going forward. Until next time. #trusttheprocess

As promised, todays edition will focus on free agents picked up as well as draft results. We were pretty quiet in free agency. Coach Pita's philosophy of team building rarely involves bringing in high priced free agents unless he his absolutely certain of that individuals desire to buy into the culture he's trying to build. We did however add some depth on the offensive line adding LT Cameron Fleming and RG Justin Britt. They are both competing for starting positions in training camp and preseason. We also added 2nd year WR Gilbert Mobley, he is a nice addition to our young WR corp. He's shown great potential thus far in preseason but has an uphill battle against some very talented recievers.
I am very excited to share the draft results with all of you. First off, we did end up moving down in the draft. In doing so we were able to acquire additional picks in this draft as well as two additional first rounders and a second round pick in next years draft. Even moving down Coach Pita had a fantastic draft. Of twelve players drafted at least three possibly four will be starting day one. We expect most all the remaining players to have an immediate impact on special teams and some will, of course, be used in situational scenarios. With 12 picks at an average age of 22.33 years old and an overall average grade of 72.16 there is alot of optimism in San Francisco about the future of this franchise.
The team has gone 2-1 thus far in preseason play. We've seen alot of good things as well as alot of things we need to work on. Next week, the impact players as they present themselves in the opening week of MBL season 22. Back to the grind, thanks for reading.

Hello everyone and welcome to the first offseason edition of Deca's Corner. First and foremost congratulations to the Detroit Lions organization on a great season and SuperBowl win. This week we talk what went well and what didn't in this past season. As you all know by now we didn't have the season we'd hoped for going in. Alot of good learning experience and a few bright spots have us fired up for season 22 though. From a statistical standpoint we ranked 30th overall on defense and 19th overall on offense. Our biggest failure has been in the turnover category. We will look to coach Pita to come up with a game plan that allows Woodard to be a success on the field and rely on Woodard to execute that game plan. The big play is not always the best play. We also must improve on our run game. We ranked dead last in the rushing category this past season and that has to change. A run game is a must if we are to keep the opposing defenses honest. We will look to FA and the draft to improve on our offensive line. They have to be able to open holes for Carlos as well as give Jawara adequate time to make successful reads on the field. Free agency has not officially opened yet but word is out that there will be some extremely talented players hitting the market. While management has always leaned toward building through the draft we have a couple of obvious holes to fill that may well be filled by free agents this year allowing us to draft not just for the future but also for depth. There was alot of media calling for coach Pitas head after our poor showing his first season. I'll address that here and now. Coach Pita is our coach and I, as owner have full confidence in what he is doing with our team here in San Francisco. Next week free agency and the draft both will have come and gone. Will share with all of you then the moves we made. #trusttheprocess

Last night we played our week 16 game emerging with a win over the Raiders in OT bringing our overall record to 5-10. While the record is somewhat disappointing the team seems to really be coming together and rallying around rookie head coach Tomas Pita. Defense is still struggling to stop the underneath pass but we are improving all the time. In last nights game we gave up 231 yards through the air and 95 yards on the ground. 69 of those yards came on one carry we allowed to break outside contain. On the defensive side of the ball we have at least 3 and possibly 5 that will make the probowl coming off this season. 2 of those players being safeties. While proud they'll be repping us I look forward to our front 7 being stout enough that the safeties aren't having to make near the tackles they are currently. The D line is set for one more year but will continue the search for that ever elusive dominant nose tackle that are so difficult to find in this day and age. The linebacker corp is definitely in need of some work. ROLB is set with Aaron Lynch, An aging Navarro Bowman still tackling like a youngster but struggles in coverage which is a must in the middle of a 3/4 defense. Rookie Jamal Blades will be a force for years to come in the middle but he too must improve his coverage skills. We signed a couple of FA to help fill the gap at LOLB last offseason, neither of them has shown they have the skillset required to hold that side down. As far as our secondary goes we are set at the safety positions for the next few years, our corners however have been too inconsistent. We will look to FA and the draft in hopes of finding what is necessary to get this defense back to the dominant force that the fans of the 49ers have become used to. I hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as I enjoy writing it. Next weeks edition will focus on the draft and who we were able to add in FA to help solidify what I expect to be a dominant defense in the next 2 seasons.

This is the first of what will be a weekly update on the MBL 49ers going forward. To give you a little background we will advance to week 13 this evening and our team is at 2-9 cleaning the cellar floor of the NFC. While you might think that's rough I have alot of faith in what we're building in San Francisco. Our second year QB Jawara Woodard is in somewhat of a slump as he continues to adjust to the speed at the NFL level. I have every confidence that he is the QB of our future. Our WR corp while young show signs of being great. We are weak at HB. Carlos Hyde has rushed for a paltry 2.7 ypc this season and will not be our starter going forward. Carlos is an incredible talent and will be used "as needed" going forward. I know we can rely on him to pound through just about any front for 2-3 yards minimum when we are in those situations. The offensive line has failed us this season on multiple occasions. We will look to free agency and the draft to bolster our line. The run and pass game both are suffering due to our failures there. While tight end play has been fair I've seen nothing from these men that would qualify as "great". Another position we will look to prop up either through free agency or the draft. We are currently ranked 20th in total offense and 27th in total defense and 31st in total turnovers. This last stat is the one most disheartening to me. We will strive to limit the turnovers going forward and assume this will help us in the other categories as well. Next week we talk defense and the games played between this article and that one. #trusttheprocess
General Rule:
1. Schedule: Advances will happen every 48 hours, unless all games finish early. In such a case of games finishing early, advance will happen and the next advance will be 48 hours after that. If you need a few more hours to get your game in, contact an admin. Admins will inquire about the status of yet-to-be-played games to determine if we are able to advance early. This is to ensure that the entire league is not waiting on a few games that may not be played.
2. Communication: You are expected to join our groupme app. There will be a general chat where you can communicate with everyone and there will be an announcement chat. In the announcement chat only admins are allowed to post there, we will post important info regarding the league.
3. Game Scheduling: You are responsible for scheduling your games. We suggest you try to schedule your games before the advance happens. If both players cannot make their schedule work, then the game will be a sim If your opponent contacts you via DM to schedule your game and you don’t respond within 24 hours you will be AP’d so your opponent may play the game. 24 hours is plenty of time for you to check your groupme communications. If both players schedule a time and one player doesn’t make it, that player will be set to auto. Proof of communication will be needed before an admin will set another player to auto. Players who are not reasonably available will be put on auto. It is up to a majority decision of the admins to determine if a player is reasonably available or not.
4. Forum Etiquette/Trash Talk: You're all adults, so you should already know what is and isn't acceptable to post on the forums. But just in case, there should be no posts made that directly accuse or insult another player. If you have a problem with someone, bring it to the admins and we will deal with it. Trash talk on the forums is allowed between teams, but it should be done in good taste and on friendly terms. You can talk trash about a team without making it personal or against the other owner. No one here should be your enemy. Keep it civil or don't speak at all. Abusing the forums can get you removed from the league.
5. General gameplay: THIS IS A SIM LEAGUE FOLLOW THE RULES AND YOU WILL BE FINE. EVERY GAME MUST BE TWITCHED, NO IF ANDS OR BUTTS.
6. Dropped/Quit Games: When a game gets disconnected both players must try and repeat the same game as before, unless both players agree to just restart. If for some reason both players cannot replay the game before advance, the admins will discuss and take a vote to see is the game will be a sim or if one player will go on auto. Quitting is not allowed under any circumstances. Anyone quitting a game will be punished. We do not recommend quitting, as we do not respect a quit. Finish your game, win or lose.
7. Gameplay Issues: If you have any issues during the game, pause it and contact an admin. If your opponent pauses the game, please allow a reasonable amount of time to pass before resuming the game. Contact your opponent or an admin and we will do our best to resolve the issue.
6. League Removal: We strive for a cohesive sim league. If you do not follow the rules, are abusive in chat, or are unwilling to adapt to our expectations you will be warned. After the warning you will be removed. The admins take a vote before every removal. We are firm but fair.
Offensive Rules
1. Play-Calling: Mix up play calling. No specific play should be called more than twice per game. Try not to run the same play more than once per drive. Of course you can use variations of plays by using hot routes but calling mesh in 4 different formations over and over is NOT mixing it up. You must also run at least 10 rushing (QB runs do not count) and 10 passing plays each game, regardless of whether you are winning or not.
2. Goal Line: Goal line formation is banned outside of the opponent's 10.
3. Rocket Catching: Rocket catching is banned. Spec catches are fine but rocket catches (Where the WR faces the QB and jumps straight up) are not allowed.
4. Motioning Players: Manual motion-based passing is banned. You may NOT manually motion your WR and snap the ball before he is set. If it is a designed play, then it is allowed.
5. Audibles: Unrealistic audible formation adjustments are banned. You may not call something like a 1 WR set and then audible to 4 WR snugs once you come to the line or vice versa. Keep it realistic.
6. FB Dives: You can NEVER have a Hb at the Fb position..
7. Subs: Banned positional subs on O: No D player can be subbed in on O. This means no DRC at WR, etc. WRs may not play at TE or HB (Unless in the Wildcat). HBs may line up at WR if the package has it. This should be used in moderation. If your opponent complains, I'll have to have a talk with you. You are responsible for having enough backup players to prevent accidental substitutions during games. If a WR enters the game as a TE because you don't have a 2nd or 3rd-string, it's still your fault. Any exceptions to this rule must be submitted to and approved by the trade council, then publicly announced on the forums.
8. Autorolling: No autorolling with your QB. You may avoid a blitz but you should stay in the pocket at least 2 seconds unless the play is designed for it.
9. QB Scrambles: You must be in the pocket for two full seconds before scrambling with your QB. You may roll out as described above in Rule #8. Under no circumstances can your QB cross the line of scrimmage in under two seconds unless it is an intended QB rushing play. Excessive qb scrambling is frowned upon as well. QB designed runs are not qb scrambles.
10. 4th Down Rules: No going for it on 4th down on your side of the 50 unless you are down by at least 21 points at any point of the game, You may go for it if its 4th and inches within your opponents 10yrd line or if you are down by 4 or more at any point of the game inside your opponents 50, You may not go for it on fourth down at all if you have a lead of 9 points or more. You may go for it on 4th and 2 or shorter if its to close out the game on your opponents side of the field. You may go for it if you're down any score in the 4th
11. Running Up The Score: If you begin the 4th quarter with a 21-point lead or greater, or if you reach a 21-point lead while in the 4th quarter, you must make every attempt to run the clock. You SHOULD NOT be trying to put up more points. You SHOULD NOT be passing on 1st or 2nd down. You should be trying to maintain possession and run the ball. If you go up by 28 points at any time during the game, you should attempt to run some clock. We have a limit of winning by 35, any more than that and it will be considered stat padding. If you're up by 35 you are expected to chew clock, run, run, run, punt, even if you are in field goal range. Adversely, if you are down by 35 in the fourth you should also be chewing clock. If you keep trying to play hard, your opponent will not be disciplined as harshly for stat padding.
12. Kicking: No line-drive punts. No surprise onside kicks. No fake FGs or fake punts. Punts on your side of the field may not be kicked out of bounds. The first bounce must be inbounds. If punting on your opponents side you may punt wherever you want.
13. Running the Clock: Chew clock will only be used in 3 circumstances.
1- End of the first half after the 2 minute warning.
2- End of the Fourth after the 2 minute warning.
3- One team has at least a 2 score lead in the fourth quarter.
Running the clock down excessively, especially in the first half, will result in some sort of discipline. We are aware that there is a 40 sec game clock and the real nfl runs it down, however we are not playing 15 min quarters. We are playing 8 min quarters and must compensate accordingly.
14. Hurry-Up Offense: The hurry-up offense is not meant to be used every single play. You may run hurry up in the last two minutes of the 2nd quarter and the last 2 mins of the 4th quarter. You may also Run hurry up if you're down at any point in the 4th quarter.
Defensive Rules:
1. Motioning Players: Only 1 player may be moved presnap (and you must user this player to start the play). The ONLY exception to this rule is when coverage is not aligned. You may NOT bring safeties down into the box that you don't user. You may not attempt to overload 1 side in an attempt to get a nano.
2. Play-Calling: Mix it up. Don’t run a cover 4 in different formations and expect that to be ok. Run man, zones and blitzes. This is a sim league. No team only runs a zone all game.
5. Positional Play: No manually pulling D-Linemen into coverage unless it is a zone blitz. You cannot drop a defensive lineman into coverage BEFORE the snap. You can user him to cover if you’ve given him a zone assignment (i.e. yellow zone in a zone blitz or a flats zone to guards the flats). Please be sim, do not sprint him back and use him as a third safety in a two man under.
6. Audibles: You may not “audible down.” For instance, you cannot call quarters and then audible to a 4-3 formation so you have a safety paying defensive end.
7. Positional Subs: You Must PM Cyyp or DecaDog if you wish to change a players position and get approval.
8. Dropping Players into Coverage: You must rush a minimum of 3 defenders every play. .
CPU/Auto Game Rules
1. All the in-game rules that apply to User vs User games apply to CPU games unless otherwise stated here.
2. Running up the Score: You should not win by more than 35 points. Also, we should not see an over-inflated final score. If we see the computer scoring all their points in the fourth quarter, we will know you are trying to stat pad. Play legit, don’t try to work the system.
3. Running up Stats: We do not stat pad in our league. We ask that you play with this in mind. There are stat caps for individual players that are guidelines. If we see a pattern of getting close to the caps each cpu game, the admins will discuss and decided if stat padding is happening.
Stat Caps:
QB should not have over 400 passing yards and 4 TDs
Teams Passing not exceed 400 passing yards
WR/TE:
No WR should exceed 175 yards and 2 TDs
WR 1 yardage < WR2 +WR3 + 100 (yearly & game total) - excludes TE
No WR should have more than 7 receptions in a game
HB:
No HB should have over 175 yards per game & 2 Tds
HB should have less receptions than your WR3
MUST HAVE AT LEAST 12 RUSHING ATTEMPTS PER GAME
Defense:
4 sacks
3 int
4. You are allowed 2 tries against the computer. After your second try we will sim the game. There are no exceptions.

6. Any trades made without league authorization will be forcibly reversed at the expense of the teams that made them.
7. Absolutely NO CPU TRADES
8. The league has a Week 9 trade deadline. You may not propose any new trades until after we advance to the offseason after Week 9.
9. Once you have proposed a trade and it has been accepted, you must honor that trade. The only exception to this rule is if both owners agree to cancel the trade before it has transpired.
12. You may not exceed $12M in cap penalty during a season. This means that if you're already at $8 million in cap penalties you can't trade a player that will give you $4.5 million more. This is a hard number you're not allowed to go past..
