Madness 20: NFC North Presents

  1. Bears - Ryan (Former Bears)

Actual quality writeup:

Oh shit, he’s the Bears again.  We’re all fucked.

I know that’s what you’re thinking right now so I will end it here.

Gay writeup:

Ryan was once a Madden juggernaut in M16 - M18, winning many Superbowls. At one point, he was winning them every single year in M17. He dropped off big time in M19. No one is quite sure how but it has been pretty evident from the start that his desire and passion has been depleted (he smoked too much weed and finally lost his virginity). He was still the division leader most seasons, look for that to continue into M20 where he takes over a defense that is stacked on the front 7. If Ryan can get the hang of the offense early on, expect him to be right back on top competing for Superbowl rings.

  1. Packers - Dr McSuck (Formers Eagles)

Dr McSuck pretty much sat out the whole year this year.  Long time user given the benefit of the doubt here in 20.

  1. Vikings - Faded ( I think)

Not enough known about Faded for a writeup.

  1. Lions - Mr 300

Not enough known about Mr 300 for a writeup.

Madness 20: NFC South Presents...

NFC South

  1. Saints - Craig (Former Titans)

Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, and Michael Thomas? That’s an incredible trip to have on day 1 with 3 Superstar X Factor abilities that will be unleashed by the playoffs. Craig proved himself as one of the top users in the league in one of the final M19 seasons by defeating a stacked AFC. I remember playing him once on 5 FPS and having to leave the game, you know what he said to me? “Don’t waste my time”. Craig won’t waste any time taking this Saints team to incredible heights.

  1. Falcons - Jovan (Former Texans/Steelers)

Jovan is a bitch jovan is a bitch jovan is a whole bitch nothing but a bitch fuck jovan fuck the falcons fuck you boy

Calvin Ridley is all you need to make “Hoevan” happy. Jovan is very familiar with Ridley as he traded for him when he was running the Steelers. Ridley was a top receiver, breaking rules multiple times. Jovan isn’t afraid to throw it and will take deep shot after deep shot on you to rack in those yards. Expect the same in M20 with the trio of Matt Ryan, Calvin Ridley and Julio Jones. He is also a former Superbowl champion as the Steelers. He took some time off from the league and later returned as the Texans but didn’t have the same success since returning. If he can control his odd temper and avoid breaking any rules, he can very easily push for a deep playoff run and cap it off with a Superbowl win fairly early.

  1. Buccaneers - JC (former Beats)

Andrew writeup:  Let me just start this off by saying I don’t think Jon can survive another mediocre showing in M20. Legitimately I think he’d end it all. But JC is ready to tear down this squad and build up a powerhouse from the ashes. He’s a more than capable user that stacks up with some of the best in the league, so if he can stay patient and focused on building the best squad he can, there’s no doubt we will see him in a super bowl in M20. The Bucs have some decent talent but I doubt we will see any of the current roster featured in his playoff runs. I’m excited to see that happens with the most loyal and lovable chatter in the game.

Ryan writeup:  JC is the anchor of the league.  I don’t really want this writeup to be about what’s going to happen in game for him next year with this team or spend too much time dwelling on the M19 Beats.  While it might look like I’m the dictator shot caller who makes the decisions in the league, we are only still here 5 maddens later because of his work with the league.  JC is a major personality of what defines our little madden community. Respectful and kind to everybody in the group, funny, a good friend and a great commish.

  1. Panthers - ThaKillGod (former Chargers)

Honestly not sure if I’ve ever seen this man play in my life, but he joins an absolutely stacked division in M20. The Panthers aren’t a bad team by any means and have plenty of young talent that can be developed including two QBs in Kyle Allen and Will Grier that can be used as trade pieces to fuel the weak spots on the roster. In the end, anything is possible when you have Super Cam at the helm and I look forward to seeing how this division shapes up.

Madness 20: AFC South Presents...

  1. Texans- Cryptic (Former Packers)
From being in a division with the lowly Vikings and an almost non-existent Lions team to joining perennial playoff contenders in the AFC South, Cryptic has a huge adjustment to make. The former Cheese Packer has contended for division titles himself however, and will look forward to taking the field with Deshaun Watson and Nuk. What remains to be seen is whether the RB jump glitch will work in Madden 20.

  2. Colts - Nick (Former Steelers)

Nick is fairly new. Playing only 3 seasons on Madness, he has made the playoffs his first two seasons so far and winning in the first round both times. While being a very good player, he was stuck in an AFC conference where it was very difficult to make it past the second round of the playoffs. He doesn’t consider himself to be very good but he can easily be a 2nd tier player. Giving him Andrew Luck and TY Hilton right off the bat, expect him to make an early push for a deep playoff run at the start of Madden 20. Keep an eye on the potential Colts/Texans rivalry.

  1. Titans - Loe Davit (Former Black Knights)

Loe is a newer user, joining in the final 2 seasons. Another unknown who we hope to learn a lot about when Madden 20 comes rolling through. He is in a tough division with both Colts and Texans being excellent players in their own right. Let's see if Loe can finally help the Titans get over that hump with Mariota still at the helm.

  1. Jaguars - Wesley (Former Raiders)

Wesley is formidable on the field but tailed off at the end as he lost interest (very understandably) in the game. Giving him the extremely talented Jags defense will give him a good chance at contending early. The QB that succeeds Foles will make or break the franchise and the development of the young WR talent will be something to keep an eye on.

Madness 20: AFC East Presents...

AFC East

  1. Patriots - Matt (Former Pats)

Matt is now a two-time Patriots user.  He and Kevin were the only two that joined at the beginning of 2019 to join us for 2020, so that makes me pretty happy. Seeing some success as a division winner, he hasn’t done much in the playoffs with this team yet. He is a very talented user on both sides of the ball but things will get a lot tougher with a new division.

  1. Jets - Anthony (Former Bengals)

A quiet killer in Madness during M19, the former Bengals star moves onto an intriguing project. With newly acquired superstar Le’Veon Bell and a promising young QB in Sam Darnold, look for Gang Green to contend for awards in season one. With a good user at the helm, the Patriots could be dethroned after years of dominance.

  1. Dolphins - Kohl Hicks

As a newcomer to the Madness League in M20, Hicks will be put to the test immediately in a pretty challenging division. With one of the weakest rosters in the game, the Fins are in a clear position to rebuild and retool slowly, but there are a few excellent pieces already in place. I’m interested to see how Kohl can match up against some of the best users in the league.

  1. Bills - JRoss

Cue the tears. Jross is as dominant on the field as he is insufferable in the chat. That’s saying a lot! The former Texans star won two Super Bowls in Madden 19 and something tells me more were coming if he didn’t “go on vacation” (he retired). The bills made plenty of solid moves this offseason and despite not having a Superstar X-Factor yet, something tells me Jross could create a few of his own if he’d stop complaining and just play the video game. Looking forward to this redemption arc or another tale of a burnout who couldn’t see past his own ego.

Madness 20: NFC East Presents

Cowboys - Ktex (Former Chiefs)

  • Ktex and the Chiefs have led a prolific offense here in 19 behind Mahomes and 99 speed Tyreek Hill.  The Cowboys offense is loaded and I expect them to come out of the gate strong.  He progresses through his reads during pass plays and rarely makes mistakes throwing it.  One of my favorite people to play, playing with Ktex is a chess match down to the final seconds of the game.
  • KTex dominated the AFC West this year, but outside of his team the division was the second weakest division and he wasn’t able to take advantage of the free playoff spot.  The NFC East has the best rivalry in football and in madden this year Ktex has the perfect opportunity right out the gate to show the rest of the division who the division runs through.

Giants - Arthur (Former Panthers)

  • Don’t really know where to start with Arthur.  Okay, that’s a lie here we go.

  • Arthur and I met in 2016 where we both joined a new league and admittedly I was a huge dick to him over the internet immediately after one of the first weeks after we didn’t play.  Almost 3 years later he joined Madness.  I’m not sure how long it took for him to remember me or to click on my DMs and realize.  But he’s actually been a cool ass guy since joining the league and I love u
  • I’m not going to speak on him as a player because he hasn’t been in the league long enough for me to assess.  But the Giants are in the middle of a rebuild and Eli is looking for 3li before he retires behind rookie QB Daniel Jones at the helm and Barkley running through teams.  This team on paper has some moves they need to make before being able to compete but the core pieces of this rebuild are all there already.

Eagles - Duncan (Former Seahawks)

  • Duncan has been one of the worst madden players I’ve ever seen in madden since joining the league.  Starting back in madden 17, Duncan didn’t receive his first (half) win of the madden cycle until his 4th season where he played the computer and tied in overtime.  Finally a little later in his 4th season we gave him a force win for morale, one member was so excited for Duncan when he found out he won a game he sent Duncan a package with his favorite brand of baby food for Duncan to enjoy.  Since 17 Duncan has gotten better at the game but is still a terrible madden player and playing with this Eagles team we will see further regression.  I predict Duncan to go 0-16 in the first season.

Redskins - Tommy (Former Bucs)

  • Tommy joined the league with Arthur and they’ll enter the next madden together as division rivals.  Outside of his yellow clay profile picture though we don’t know much about Tommy.  He finished 5-11 in a tough year for the division.  Living in the DC area I’ve watched the Redskins rebuild the last two years and it’s crazy to say that the Redskins aren’t looking like its ran by a dumpster fire anymore.  A team with a great mix of talented young prospects and with talent on both lines, the Redskins were lowkey a great pick for a team.

Madness 20: AFC North Presents...

AFC North

  1. Steelers - Lakeem (Former Bills)

Lakeem hasn’t seen much success with the Bills outside of one decent season. He did join Madness late and took over the team with two starting caliber young QBs and lots of overpaid veterans so he had some decisions to make to try to turn the team around. Some say the reason for his lack of success is due to Lakeem being friends with Duncan “La’Baebedik” but we will see when he takes over a pretty stacked Steelers team.

  1. Ravens - Javious (Former Dolphins)

From the Fins to Baltimore, Javious certainly gets a day one upgrade in team quality. Since joining midway through M19, he boasts a 27-10 record which is incredible with the state of that Dolphins roster.  He enters a far tougher division this year, but with the Ravens promising young talent we could see an exciting rivalry develop between him and Kevin(who the fuck gave him the Browns). Lamar Jackson should be a perennial MVP candidate under Colson’s leadership.

  1. Bengals - Jake R (Former N/A)

Jake is a newcomer in Madness. He hasn’t played in games but he is part of the sister league, NBL. He is a bit of an unknown so only time will tell how successful he can be.

  1. Browns - H I  K E V I N (Former Colts)

Kevin is a two time Superbowl Champion. Coming from one of the hardest divisions we ever had, he is easily a top 2 player in the league. With his former division rival moving onto a new division as well, it will be interesting to see if he will have any competition in the AFC North. The Browns have a stacked roster at nearly every position so don’t be surprised to see him in the Superbowl during the first season… and a familiar face could potentially see him in the AFC Championship Game very often.

Madness 20: NFC West Presents...

The NFC West has always been my favorite division in Madness.  Since we began back in 2016 the NFC West has always found a way to sneak into the playoffs with 8 or 9 wins regularly.  Brent and Nick have historically tanked the value of this division, almost making it a premium division to be in.  Despite typically being an easy division, an NFC West team hasn’t seen playoff success since madden 17.

  1. Seahawks - Andrew P. (Former Vikings)

Andrew joined the league towards the beginning of this madden.  Madness is his first ever online CFM and boy has he shown it. From the time he’s joined the league he’s thrown almost 130 interceptions averaging 2 a game.  He’s started to figure it out some here recently after his 2-14 season where he garnered the #1 pick. And to a degree, what Andrew has done with the Vikings in madden 19 has impressed me.  I can say it’s definitely impressive how he took a mediocre Vikings team and kept them in shadows of the Bears ;).

Andrew takes on the Seahawks in 2020.  The NFC West looks like it’ll still be all of our favorite division with the characters in it.  Russell Wilson recently became the highest paid player of all time, and they just drafted DJ Metcalf.  If done right the Seahawks have the young pieces with plenty of potential to dominate the NFC West for the entire game cycle.  It’s up to Andrew to see if history repeats itself and the Seahawks find themselves in the shadows behind another divisional rival.

  1. 49ers - Will (Former Cowboys)

A two-time NFC East champion in a tough division in M19, Will finds himself in a far more comfortable environment this time. The NFC West boasts some rather unremarkable users, so we can expect a strong performance right out the gate.

Will was unlucky with his list and the 49ers weren’t one of his top teams, but even though the 49ers selected second overall in 2019 do not be fooled; this roster is ready to compete on day one.  An exciting offense with the backfield consisting of Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon will be an interesting storyline to follow. San Francisco hasn’t found much success in awhile but the defense and offense have a lot of potential healthy this year around.

  1. Cardinals - Josh D. (Former Broncos)

I’m sitting at home on a Tuesday night sitting on my couch as I watch some tv and snack on something.  I get a GroupMe notification and load up the app, swiftly with my finger opening the group chat. I read “madden hates me,” and I chuckle to myself.  I expect to do that a lot this year.

Our favorite mustache finally gets his turn with the Cardinals.  Pairing up with the #1 pick, David Johnson, Patrick Peterson, and... well not too much else.  Nonetheless, despite a lackluster year with the Broncos in a weak division I’m not too soon to forget his  playoff appearances and division titles he would take in prior maddens. Madden changes year to year and this is a new game.  The Arizona Cardinals will be interesting to watch for this year.

  1. Rams - BB (Former Rams)

BB takes on the Rams for the 5th consecutive year.  Back in madden 16 taking the Rams was a joke, a team meme’d to death by Jeff Fischer and his 7-9 woes.  Today the Rams are at the top of the NFC behind Sean McVay and the rams front office are the powerhouse of the conference.  The Rams are fun! And they’re in LA! What’s not to like about this team when you have Aaron Donald roaming free on quarterbacks in the pocket and Todd Gurley in the backfield dancing around defenders?  Well, BB has been anything but a powerhouse with this team. With three 8-8 seasons under his belt and Jeff Fischer supposedly coaching the team again he’s battles every year with the rest of the NFC West to squeeze out that automatic wildcard loss division title and hasn’t yet turned the team into the Rams LA believed they were.

Bad Boys

It’s week 12 and the Chicago Bears are looking like the best team we’ve seen since... ever.  The Bears are 10-0 scoring 47.4 points a game.  The Bears only need to score 22 points a game in their remaining 6 to break the 2013 Broncos record of 606 points in a season (37.9 ppg).  The lead every major offensive category besides passing yards which they are 2nd in.  The offense is deadly and explosive led by the three headed monster of Trubisky, Ricard, and Bryan.

Mitchell Trubisky might be having the greatest season we’ve ever seen from a quarterback.  Currently leading the league in yards with 3,141 and 3rd in touchdowns with 27.  The most impressive part is that Trubisky has an 80% completion rate, a passer rating of 147.2, and 20.9 yards per passing attempt!  20.9 YPPA is 7.6 higher than the next QB with over 100 attempts (Mariota).  Trubisky is also 30th in passing attempts with 150.  For reference the league leader has 341 and 6 QBs have thrown 300 times (more than double Trubisky).

Leo Ricard is the premier running back of the league.  Despite being taken out of the game early against the Broncos with only 5 rushing attempts he still leads the league in yards by a lot.  9.1 yards per carry is almost a first down every time he gets the ball.  He’s on pace to break the rushing yards and TD record and is the front runner for MVP.  He has a lot of help from his oline with 5 all-pro caliber players. C Cody Whitehair and LG Graham Sudfield are the highest rated players at their position in the league while the Bears RG and RT are rated as top 5.

The mini speedster WR Leonard Bryan is also having a breakout season.  At just 5’8” the 22 year old is having potentially the greatest season ever by a wide receiver.  Only 3 receivers in the league have over 1000 yards and Bryan has 1,513 already.  Already 3rd on the single season TD record he only needs 4 more in his final 6 to tie the record and is on pace to break the receiving yards record by 452 yards. Bears second year receiver Andre Skinner is also having a great season with nearly 900 yards and 6 TDs.  The Bears could easily have two all-pro receivers again behind Trubisky.

Packers beat down

The Packers had their hands full at Soldier Field this week.  Mitchell Trubisky proves again why he’s arguably the best quarterback in the league by posting a perfect passer rating to go along with 245 yards and 2 touchdowns on 10/11 passing.

The run game was rolling as Leo Ricard and Tarik Cohen combined for 262 yards on 26 carries on the day.  Highlighted by a smoothe 99 hard run by the sophomore running back Ricard.

After noise of a very successful offseason, Leonard Bryan had a big game receiving with 5 receptions and 170 yards.  After trading away star receiver Kevin White the Bears knew that someone would have to step up in his place and it looks like Bryan could be the man to do so.

The real story of tonight’s game was the Bears secondary.  Deshaun Watson threw for just 46 yards and only had one more completion (5) than he had interceptions (4).    Free agent pickup Craig Burton picked off quarterback twice, returning one for a TD.  Eddie Jackson and Taz “The King” Nkang also each had a interception returned for a touchdown.  Nkang moving from the nickel cornerback position into a CB1 is big for this team.

Interview with the Jets

Bears:

“Nearing the midway point of the season ur team is 5-1, how do u feel moving forward?”

Jets:

“Pretty confident. My team is playing better than expected but consistency is key. My last win over the Dolphins was ugly. Offense struggled to get anything going. That seems to be the biggest issue. If our offense can click and execute on a consistent basis, my team can compete with just about anyone.”

Bears:

“Last season Dobbs broke the leagues single season interception record with 43.  U brought him back as a starter this year.  How much do you credit him to your 5-1 record so far?  Also can you expand on any new game plans or notable players that may be helping him?”

Jets:

“When we traded for Dobbs last year, we knew it would be a rough year. He was a rookie, playing with a lot of young talent around him and an offensive line that wasn't very reliable. He has definitely been playing better but again needs to be consistent. The team as a whole has played well enough to earn these wins. They play hard together and every player contributes, that's all i can ask for.

Game plan has been the same, just remain balanced. Running the ball effectively is key to the development of Josh Dobbs as it will take a lot of pressure off him. Sammie Coates has been his go-to target and a truely dominant receiver as he won "Best WR" last season. We went into the season expecting Robby Anderson and off season acquisition Curtis Samuel to play a big role in the offense. Anderson has made some great plays. Samuel is slowly getting more involved. Defensively, we have guys back there that refuse to let us lose without a fight. Jamal Adams progression has turned him into a force at safety. Rookie pass rusher Whitehead has finally given us a dangerous rusher off the edge.  These few guys just help so much with turning the whole team into a possible contender.”

Bears:

“Who's ur biggest rival?”

Jets:

“Dolphins and Pats. Me and Dolphins have insane games every season. It's always a good matchup between us to. Our games usually come down to the wire.

Pats on the other hand, he's the reigning division leader, went to the Superbowl last season, we want that. We plan on dethroning the Pats. We're tired of being behind them every year and never putting up a fight against them. It's about time to change that.”

Bears:

“What are ur goals the rest of the season?”

Jets:

“Keep playing well and make the post season. Simple as that. Hopefully have some more guys step up in the next half of the season.”

Bears:

“What player has disappointed so far this season?  And what player has exceeded expectations and why?”

Jets:

“Id have to say, Muhammad Wilkerson. He hasnt been a force inside as of late. Only has 1.5 sacks on the season and 4 TFL. I expect better from him and he needs to step up.

This is a one, is have to say both my first and second round picks this year. Josh Whitehead and Center Henry Diamond. I expected Whitehead to improve our pass rush but i didnt expect him to be so dominant so soon into his career. Diamond has been a nice find for us, only allowing 1 sack so far this year, helping create holes for the running game and hes a big reason why Dobbs has played better and only been sacked 9 times.”

Team Tiers

CONTENDERS:  These are the teams I expect to be battling for the top seeds and expect to see at least in the divisional round this year.

Chiefs:

A deadly running team with a strong defense.  With more rushing attempts than passing, they play the long game and look to grind it out.  QB controversy between Smith and Mahomes right now and Tyreek Hill sitting out due to injury, if anyone's going to beat them they'd have to take advantage of this soon.  Currently sitting at 8-0 and the top of the AFC.

Point differential: 134
Record: 8-0

Bears:

The Bears are a top 5 team in every offensive and defensive category on daddyleagues.  It's hard to believe that with so many young studs leading the team that they have much more room for improvement.  Star safety Eddie Jackson returns from injury but CB1 Bryce Callahan is out the next few weeks with a dislocated elbow.  The secondary is going to have to step it up the rest of the season.

Point differential: 135
Record: 7-1

Falcons:

The Falcons might have the best defense so far into the season.  User MLB Deion Jones leads the team with 10 ints and the defense is only allowing 9 points a game.  Coleman and Freeman each have 500+ yards for a strong rushing attack despite trading C Alex Mack.  If he can beat the Bears week 11 he's almost guaranteed the top seed in the NFC barring a major catastrophe.

Point differential: 180
Record: 8-0
------
Wild cards:  These teams are on the verge of being contenders but haven't strung together enough consistent success to title them so.

Jets:

It's hard to tell if the Jets have actually turned it around or not.  The easy part of their schedule is over with their next 5 games against Vikings, Patriots, Texans, Dolphins, and the Bears.  At 6-2 he needs to at least win 10 games to make the playoffs.  Rookie Josh Whitehead is terrorizing the league and bolstering their pass rush and second year stud Jamal Adams is locking down the secondary.  If Dobbs can continue leading the team to victory and not force errors like last season they'll easily make the playoffs.

Point differential: 132
Record: 6-2

Jaguars and Steelers:

These two users are new to the league but haven't lost since joining the league.  Both teams have very strong rosters with good players all over the field.  A small sample size of only 4 games for the Steelers and 5 for the Jags but it's easy for me to see both these teams end up winning their division.

Jags PD: 96
Record: 6-1
Steelers PD: 16
Record: 4-4

Vikings:

After narrowly missing out on a wildcard spot last year, the Vikings are off to a strong start.  Dalvin Cook is just 148 yards and 1 touchdown away from matching his last season totals with only 8 games played.  First round pick RH Chase Nawrath gets a lot of credit for this for turning their below average line into an at least decent one. Just 21 years old and 316 pounds he's one of the more promising guards in the league.

Seahawks:

The Seahawks have the best offense in the league right now led by rookie HB Assad Rivers and veteran QB Russell Wilson.  But the legion of boom has disintegrated. 25th in points allowed a game and dead last in yards allowed a game, the Seahawks need to look to address these struggles if they want to repeat.

Lions:

The Lions beat the Bears by a decent margin.  Unfortunately they haven't been able to stay consistent throughout the season and play in a tough division.  The Dolphins, Vikings, Patriots, Seahawks, and Bears are 5 of his remaining games that will make or break this teams playoff chances.

PD: 53
Record: 4-3

Giants and Cowboys:

A lot of similarities between this divisional rivals.  Both have running backs that were at the top of the league last year but are slumping this season.  Both have good but not great defenses.  And both have good quarterbacks that have a lot of weapons to their disposal.  Neither have been as successful this season as they were last but both are likely to make the playoffs and could surprise.

Giants PD: 71
Record: 5-3
Cowboys PD: 108
Record: 4-3

----
Pretenders: Teams that records are misleading.

Patriots:

The Patriots traded Tom Brady in the offseason and I don't think that was a great idea.  Garoppolo hasn't necessarily had a terrible season but the offense isn't as explosive as it once was last year.  Jordan Howard is only averaging 76 yards a game after a 1,500 yard season last year.  McCourty has also shown regression after a 15 interception season last year with only 2 so far.  The defense is 23rd in sacks and 24th in yards allowed a game.

PD: 22
Record: 5-3

Browns:

Have the Browns really turned it around?  The team's offense has been able to rack up yards but struggling to force turnovers with only 10 takeaways.  They rank about average in every statistical category and lack a real identity.  If Kizer can continue playing well and the defense can start forcing turnovers then they have a real chance at making the playoffs.

PD: 10
Record: 5-3

Chargers:

The Chargers have been blessed with 2 force wins and a sim win.  With blowout losses to the Seahawks and Steelers and a narrow loss against the Browns they struggle against teams over .500.  Still having to play the Chiefs twice and the Dolphins I don't think their record is representative of the team:

PD: 0
Record: 5-3

Panthers

The new Panthers user gets an the advantage of taking over a team that was already 3-1.  With a loss against the old Bucs, a force win, and a sim win they are lucky to be 5-2 right now.

PD: 36
Record: 5-2

Rams:

The Rams get the benefit of playing the Cards and the 49ers four times a year.  All 4 losses coming from teams above .500, the Rams might luck into a wildcard spot because they still have 3 games left against the Cards and 9ers.  I see a classic Jeff Fisher 8-8 finish in their future.

PD: -3
Record: 5-4

----
What the hell happened?:  team said that should probably have a better record than they do now.

Titans:

The Titans are the only team in the league with a positive point differential and a record below .500.  This team has one of the toughest schedules in the league and has had some unlucky breaks with a 3 point loss to the Eagles and a 4 point loss to the Chargers.  They need to play nearly perfect to have a chance at a wildcard spot.

PD: 63
Record: 3-4

Dolphins:

The Dolphins play in a tough division (well besides the Bills) where we may possibly see 3 teams make the playoffs.  Ryan Tannehill just doesn't cut it at quarterback throwing 18 ints and only 9 touchdowns with a terrible 69.5 passer rating.  Rookie Ilyaas Morse is a DPOY candidate with 10 interceptions to his name but the rest of the defense is missing a consistent pass rusher to get pressure and force turnovers.

PD: -14
Record: 4-4

Buccaneers:

The Bucs were a playoff team just last year but have started off 3-4.  Not much to say here because new ownership takes over and could surprise some people.

PD: -24
Record: 3-4

Eagles:

We already know what happened.  The Eagles play in a division with two powerhouse teams the Giants and the Cowboys and haven't been able to beat either team.  They're 1-8 in division games since last season with the only win coming against the Redskins.

The Chicago Bears New Identity: Who Are They?

The Bears were hungry to get younger after an embarrassing playoff loss following an impressive first season.  By week one we had a league high 21 rookies making the final roster.  11 offensive, 9 defensive, and a kicker.  Fans were upset after a 14-2 season why the team would blow itself up and thought the team would be tanking a season with so many players that might not be ready to contribute but many of these rookies are proving to be future super stars in the league already.

Week one in the first quarter against the Dolphins, starting RB Tarik Cohen goes down with an upper arm fracture.  The 7th round pick Leo Ricard checks into the game and not soon after breaks off a 77 yard touchdown run and surprises everyone.  Ricard has a combination of speed, agility, and power that the Bears have been looking to replace since trading away Jordan Howard. With only 18 downs played in week 1, fans question Cohen's ability to being the starting running back with his small frame not being able to sustain a full regular season workload.  Behind the Bears strong offensive line they've rebuilt in the offseason, Leo Ricard is poised for a big time season barring injuries.

6'2" 6th round pick Andre Skinner leads the team in receptions and receiving yards for the team 4 games into the season.  Skinner starts in the slot but has had to fill in at the WR1 position as Kevin White has had to leave early due to injury in two games so far.  On the other side of the field, Speedy receiver Leonard Bryan is only 2 catches and 27 yards behind Skinner.  Defenses have to respect his speed and is able to go for a touchdown at any moment.  With Trubisky throwing to them, these two receivers have a promising future.

The defense for the Bears has been deadly under defensive coordinator John Fangio.  With 7 new starters the team has gelled as a unit to wreak havoc.  4th round pick LE Marc Hunt leads the team in sacks with 6.  His ability to stop the run has been lacking but will improve as the season goes on.  5th overall pick DT Bradley Stone has been disappointing only recording 1.5 sacks and 7 tackles so far in the season.  FS Kent Williams also hasn't yet been able to replace Adrian Amo's production on the field.

The player with the most chatter around the league right now though is CB Taz Nkang.  Selected at the end of the second round and many saw him as a reach, he was thought to be a project player.  But Taz "The King" Nkang has wracked up 9 interceptions easily leading the league.  He's on pace to shatter his teammate Donald Payne's season int record of 16.
