2) Rams 35 - 8 (season 1 NFC champ)
3) Bills/Beats 33 - 10
4) Bucs 30 - 13
5) Jags 28 - 15 ( season 2 SB champ)
AP: The Rams came into Tampa Bay and left with a 28-20 victory. The Rams D made shutting down Doug Heffernan their top priority and that was a feat they accomplished. They pounded, pummled, and drove Heffernan into the ground time and time again. 5 times they stopped Doug for a loss, 4 of them by Alec Ogletree. The Rams also locked down Heffernan in the passing game, for the first time all season Heffernan was held without a catch.
Doug was seen crying to his wife Carrie on the sideline after the game.
Week 4 is upon us and only 3 unbeatens remain. The Rams, Eagles and Jets. Who is the best of this bunch? To further break this down we must first sort out the contenders and the pretenders.
Contenders
Eagles - Philly improved to 3-0 after a week 3 win over the Seattle Seahawks. This former NFC Champion finally has the right pieces in place to make a run and return to the playoffs. Zalot struggled in seasons 1 and 2 but we are going to give him a pass since he has been swamped at school with studying, drinking, and women. The NFC East isn't anything to brag about but Zalot is the class of the division. Prediction 13-3 with a NFC title game appearence.
Rams - What really needs to be said here? Velez, Julio, Ray Lewis... The Rams will cruise to their 3rd NFC West championship in a row and advance to the NFC Title game where the Eagles will be waiting. Who will win the battle of former NFC Champs? It is too soon to tell.
Pretenders
Jets - New York has already played their week 4 game and won vs Houston, which everyone is doing these days. The Jets currently sit at 4-0 but haven't really been tested as they have had an easy schedule to start the season. Their SOS sits at .405 which is 2nd lowest thru 4 games since the NFL expanded to 32 teams in 1995. the Jets may very well make the playoffs, as a wildcard, but will fall short in the opening round.
For the 2nd consecutive year the Rams are NFC West champs. St. Louis has been too much man for any NFC West team over this 2 year steamroll. The Rams are 10-2 in divisional play, one of those L's was a simulated game. Will anyone step up in year 3 and challange STL? Rams owner Churphy James thinks if anyone is up to the challange it will be Seattle, they have played the Rams the toughest out of anyone.
Rams season leaders as of Week 16
Velez - 3,737 passing yards, 40 passing tds, 809 rushing yards, 5 rushing tds
Daryl Richardson - 1303 rushing yards, 27 catches for 328 yards
Julio Jones - 65 catches for 1287 yards, 15 tds
Alec Ogletree - 80 tackles, 13 for loss, 6 sacks, 2 ints, 6 forced fumbles, 1 td
One time NFL QB Hope Bromley was indicted late Thursday evening on charges stemming from the prositution warehouse that was shut down last month in Tampa Bay. Hope and her Lawyer, Attikus Finch, are claiming that she is the fall guy for the entire ordeal and that she has nothing to do with any mischevious act of any sorts.
" I did nothing wrong. I'm not going to name names but I will give information leading the the arrest of the real culprit. He goes by Slot Daddy. That's the only name I got. Slot Daddy.." - Hope
Outside the Lines did some investigating into this mysterious " Slot Daddy" and what they came up with just might blow your mind. After talking to a few low level pimps they finally got an email address for this mystery man. 6'5SlotMan@Slot.6'5slot.com was the address and OTL tried to set up a meeting Chris Hanson style but they never got a response for Slot Daddy.
Will the indentity of Slot Daddy ever be discovered? Is he the leader of the kingpin operation in Tampa or is what Hope Bromely is saying just a flat out lie. Outside the Lines is asking for help on this situation. Please contact us or try to contact Slot Daddy on your own. Reminder his e-mail address is 6'5SlotMan@Slot.6'5.com.
Douglas Velez was at it again in the rams week 3 matchup vs Dallas. The Cowboys defeated St. Louis last season and Velez wanted to make sure his teammates from last season got a little bit of revenge. Velez passed for 376 yards and 4 Td's and added 78 yards and a TD on the ground on 4 carries. Thru 3 games Douglass Velez is the clear leader in the MVP race, he has passed for 988 yards and 13 tds with only 3 ints while adding 202 yards and 3 TD's on the ground.
Julio Jones has another superstar performace as well as he went over 100 yards for the 3rd straight game.. Antonio Brown and Jared Cook also went over the century mark for the game.
So far this season the Rams offense has been unstoppable. Is any defense up to the challenge? If so they have yet to be found.
The Rams sit at 3-0 and are in 1st place in the NFC West.
Following a humilating SuperBowl lose the St. Louis Rams decided to blow it all up. They added Julio Jones and drafted Douglas Velez. Many people don't know Velez is Steve Young's long lost son from a hooker he encountered in March of 1993.
It didn't take long for Velez and Julio to make their presence known. On the 2nd play of the Rams opening drive Velez hit Julio for a 68 yard TD. The Rams offense was unstoppable in their opening day win vs Washington. Velez passed for 328 yards and 6 TDs whiling adding 93 yards and a rushing TD on the ground. Julio had 5 catches for 148 yards and 2 Td's. Antonio Brown also hauled in 2 TD's. The Rams won 52-31.
Bradford threw for 393 yards and 5 TD's while Tavon hauled in 4 catches for 153 yards and 3 Td's as the Rams held off the NY Giants 51-32. The Giants jumped out to early leads of 14-3 and 21-10 but from that point it was all St. Louis. Bradford picked apart the tough Giants D and had his way with them like they were a 4 dollar hooker. DMC also had a nice game, he rushed for 130 yards and 1 TD. The Rams defense picked off Eli Manning 3 times as they stood by their usualy bend but don't break methodology.
The Rams will face the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship Game next Sunday in St. Louis.
Bradford threw for 399 yards and 4 Td's as the Rams held off the Seattle Seahawks to clinch homefield throughout the NFC playoffs. Fans in St. Louis are happy about this because they will get to see at least one more home game in their stadium for this is the last year the Rams will play in the Edward Jones Dome. Owner Churphy James finalized a new stadium deal his 1st day as owner and that stadium is set to open for the 2014 season. The Rams will have a week off to recover from injuries and will watch closely to see who their next oppenent will be.
Tavon Austin retured 2 kicks for TD's and Janoris Jenkins intercepted a Josh Freeman pass with 4 min remaining to seal a W for the Rams. The Rams improve to 12-3 and clinch a 1st round bye. With a win in week 17 the Rams will clinch the #1 seed in the NFC.
" Twice tampa kicked the ball real high to me in middle of the field and I don't know why. He should have learned after the 1st one. I just ran straught ahead and both times my blockers opened a gapping hole. I would have walked and still scored" - Tavon Austin
Sam Bradford also had another brilliant performance. Bradford passed for 245 yards and 3 Tds with 0 interceptions. On the season Sam has passed for 3,570 yards with 35 td's to only 12 interceptions. His QB rating is a whopping 107.4. He should be in every MVP conversation from here on out.
The Rams travel to Seattle for week 17.
ESPN, FOX, CBS, and every other news outlet gave the Rams no chance this season against "powerhouse" San Francisco but the people of STL knew that to be a load of BS. The Rams dominated from start the finish on Sunday sweeping the season series. The Rams defense was all over the place. Colin Kaepernick looked like a little boy locked in the shower with Jerry Sandusky as points during the game. In other words he was scared shitless. Kaepernick completed 8 of 26 passes for 129 yards and 0 Td's. He had a QB rating of 48.3
Bradford had another solid game throwing for 214 yards with 1 TD and 0 ints. He also added another TD on the ground. Rookie LB Alex Ogleetree added to his solid rookie campaign. He had 7 tackles, 2 for a loss, and 1 sack.
The Rams improve to 9-3 and clinch the NFC West with 1 more win or 1 SF loss. The Rams travel to Arizona next week to face their old nemises Ninja.
The rumors started swirling early Sunday morning and as soon as the photos were leaked the rumors became reality. Sam Bradford, pictured left, is in hot water. The deloping story first posted on ESPN.COM shows Sam Bradford had a late night out Saturday, the night before one of the biggest games of the year. Players in STL are not happy, the fans aren't happy and the owner isn't happy.
WR Tavon Austin had this to say. " I think it's BS man. I am out here every day giving 124%. I get to the field at 4 am every morning and I don't leave till midnight. He is suppose to be our leader. I want him traded."
While RB DMC had a different reaction, " I was actually with Sam. We got fucked up! Bitches and hoes and cocaine and apple-tinis. It was a glorious night. Sam got his nut 4 times! I don't give a rats ass what people think. We got millions and you don't so STFU"
While this may have affected Bradford's play I don't think it would have affected the final outcome. The Bears manhandled the Rams from start to finish. Congrats to them on a well planned attack.
The Rams fall to 8-3 and sit atop the NFC West
Sam Bradford and his deadly pals finally got on the same page this week vs the 4-0 Jaguars. Bradford threw for 401 yards and 5 TD's to lead the Rams to victory. Randy Moss had 103 yards and 1 TD while Jared Cook had 123 yards and 2 Td's. Rooke WR Tavon Austin also got in on the passing party as he hauled in 4 catches for 58 yards and 2 TD's.
The Rams were without star running back DMC but it was hard to notice that on the field. Richardson had a fantastic game as he ran for 80 yards and a TD and also had 68 yards recieving on 2 catches.
The Rams D forced 4 turnovers and made life pretty chaotic for bum RB Denard Robinson. DaTard was layed out almost every time he touched the ball and lost 2 fumbles. Rams rookie LB Alex Ogleetree had this to say....
" Denard was trash, all hype no bite. We hit him and hit him hard. He lost 2 fumbles and no joke I saw him shead a tear would Finny layed him out on that last one. He won't be in this league much longer. He is Arena material. Maybe him and Tebow will catch on there together. Also how was the Jaguars 4-0? Total fluke. They will def be featured on monday nights C'Mon Man..." - Alex Ogletree
The Rams improve to 4-1 and sit atop the NFC West
Sam Bradford threw for 333 yards and 2 Td's as the Rams defeated the SF 49ers 14-10. After power outages hit the west coast commissioner Roger Goodwell ruled that the game must be replayed, erasing a Rams 28-21 lead late in the 4th quarter. That didn't stop the Rams from comming out and getting what they deserved though. The Rams defense ruled the day as they held the 49ers to just 10 points and 0 points in the 2nd half.
It wasn't all sun shine and rainbows though, late in the 2nd quarter DMC caught a pass and took it 40 yards only to be tackled from behind and get a herniated disk. DMC will be out for 3 weeks.
" What do you think happens when I have to play 2 games in 1 week? My body can't handle that, we were lucky that nobody else got hurt on this field. The NFL acts like they care about players safety and then pull this stunt? Please..." - DMC
The Rams improve to 3-1 on the season and sit atop the NFC West.
The Rams lock up their man. DMC will be in STL for at least another 4 years, unless he is traded....
