Miami,Florida- The Dolphins struggle to find consistancy still continues as they kicked off the season against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Dolphins couldn't get anything going all game behind Rookie QB Dustin Forrest. His NFL debut did not start off well as he throw a pick six on his 1st pass, it was all down hill after that as he finished the game 13/20 for 130yds and 4 interceptions. The offense as a whole couldnt get into rhythm against this stingy Chiefs defense that kept applying pressure to the quarterback and clogging up the running lanes. The defense struggled as well but they had a bit more of a positive coming out of that game. They fielded a young set of Linebackers that consisted of 2 rookies and a 1 year pro who looked consitant and swormed to the ball immediately. We will have to see in what direction the team goes as the season goes along, if they either live up to the fans expectations or let the future dwindle away.
Miami, Florida - The Dolphins put on a great performance against the Jets but it wasn't enough. The Dolphins offense was running on all cylinders. The signing of McCown had no affect on Mallett as he had a great performance against the Jets defense. The Dolphins defense on the other hand couldn't hold its own against the high powered Jets Offense. The defense was only able to stop the Jets on one occasion. Coach Joey said if the defense doesn't step up in the remaining weeks there will be complete overhaul on the defensive side. Coach Joey did have a few positive things to say about the Jets offense and his own offense. " The Jets came into this game and executed their game plan exactly how they wanted to. The embarrassed our defense on every drive and we have to give them credit for that. The samething can be said about our offense, we ran and passed at our pase and we executed. I'm proud of Ryan Mallett for stepping up and leading his teammates till the last minute. Mallett will be our starting quarterback for the remainder of the season." The Dolphins are on the right track and look to be turning a new lead, let's see what they do this off season.
Miami, Florida - Miami Dolphin player show up to the facilities on Monday morning like they usually do, but on this day it was a little more different. As everyone was showing up they were introduced to a new teammate. Miami Dolphins had just sign journeyman former Bear,Buc,Lion,Raider, and Dolphin Josh McCown. This came as a surprise to the players since they were lead to believe that Ryan Mallett was their quarterback. Coach Joey introduced McCown to the team and let them know that he was signed to bring some experience to that position. Coach Joey however didnt rule out a quarterback change in the future. Mallett and McCown both met with Coach Joey at the same time in his office. It is believe that he laid out what was gonna happen and told Mallett that he will still be taken 1st team reps unless he doesnt execute or up to standard. Thing just got awhole lot more intersting down here in South Beach since Mallett hasn't lead the team to wins as they are 2-10. So look forward to maybe seeing a new starting QB down in Miami.
