Browns Secure Playoff Birth

With a decisive win over the Chicago Bears, the Cleveland Browns have ended a 15 year playoff drought,  while playing in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL. The last three seasons have seen the Browns finish 1-15, 5-9 and 3-12, however, with a strong draft in 2017 Cleveland began to lay the foundation of what they expect to be a perenial playoff team. Rookie Quarterback Deshone Kizer has lead the team to a 10-5 record, just good enough to seal a wild card spot.

In his speech to the team after the win, coach Hawthorne was surprised when the majority of the veterans on the team questioned his math after announcing the Browns playoff berth. Long time LT Joe Thomas was heard saying "wait....is this a joke?" When asked later about his comment, Thomas replied "look I stopped keeping track of wins and losses back in 2011, i thought we were about 3-11 to be honest" When oft suspended receiver Josh Gordon was asked what team he would prefer to face in the playoffs he stated "man, i really want to play the Chiefs....I hear thier medical tent is stocked with.....um weed....so yea, definitley KC.

Even if the Browns don't make it past the Wild Card round, just making the playoffs is a boost of adrenaline for a fan base that has suffered for nearly 20 years in the basement of the NFL. They also hold either the 1st or 2nd overal pick in the upcoming draft which could further strengthen this young talented team. Then again, they ARE the Browns, so who knows, they could go 1-15 for the next 5 years.
