BringDeFo

In a bold move, the commish has reached out to NFL star DeForest Buckner to bring his talents to the Madden world. Buckner has not responded, but a source has confirmed the #BringDeFoToNexGen movement has officially begun. If Buckner is reading this, he has to know he has been called out to bring his stick skills to the table. Will he accept the challenge?

AFC West 1st Quarter Review

Denver Broncos : Baker Mayfield leads the league in passing yards and TDs along with his trio of wide outs in Braxton Berrios, Courtland Sutton, and DaeSean Hamilton being 3 of the leagues top 5 receivers. The Broncos finish this quarter with a 3-1 record. Their only loss was to Jacksonville, which was a heartbreaker in the final seconds over overtime. The Broncos missed 2 extra points and a field goal that game or they might be undefeated. "We had a great couple of games here lately. We just have to keep up the momentum and go out there every week. It's any given Sunday here and we want to make sure we play our best football" said Broncos Coach Sean Mcvay. The Broncos also have the #1 ranked defense with Bradley Roby having 4 intercepts, Sua Cravens as the leagues leading tackler, and Von Miller in third for sacks. This is a squad to watch our for. Oakland Raiders: They started out 2-0 and lost 2 straight, the second of which the Broncos pummeled them so bad the team didn't return from the locker room at half time. Their owner left the team and Coach Gruden retired. Will Chuckie find a new home or will he come back after rage quitting? Derek Carr has looked awful and their offense is no where to be found. Kahlil Mack is begging to be traded because he is tired of being the only one on the defense worth something. Kansas City Chiefs : The Chiefs started 2-0 and lost 2 straight as well. Jimmy Garrapollo appears to be moving the ball well as he comes in behind Division Rival Baker Mayfield. The Chiefs haven't had an easy stretch. They got a big win over the Jags but lost big to both the Texans and the Vikings. They have got to find a way to get back into a rhythm soon if they want to compete come January. Los Angeles Chargers: These guys are so quiet you don't even notice they in the legaue. The got a big win week 1 and have since gone 0-2. This seems to be the trend in the AFC West, with the exception of the Broncos, but the Chargers need to wake up. Their fans are revolting. They have been mediocre at best on both sides of the ball. This will be a division to watch as they play the NFC North amd AFC South, both of which having contenders in the playoffs.

Raiders Owner Retires Claims Too Weak

Another week down in the NFL, and another owner bites the dust. The Raiders owner embraced his inner Vonage Davis, stating "I am too weak to handle these Ls like a real man. This is a grown man's game and I certainly can't compete." It's a sad day to see someone catch a beatdown into retirement, but at least the trash got taken out.

Redskins Owner Sells Team Amidst Scandal

After the league front office re ceived messages of a doping scandal involving Pat Mahomes, the Commish cracked down hard on the Redskins organization. Mahomes was due for a big suspension but after meeting with the Commish himself, Mahomes became the whistle-blower in a case that forced The Redskins owner to sell his stake in the team. Hey Auntie was later arrested on charges of drug trafficking and forcing his players to use them as well. "We do not support, tolerate, or endorse this behavior in any way" said Commissioner Goodell. As this now becomes as federal case, the league has opened up a wider search area including all teams and a crack down on rule violations is imminent. "Player safety is our top priority. We want to give our fans the best experience possible, but this cannot be done when there is cheating involved."

Commish's Corner

Reports of league relocation have consumed the League's front office. The commish was asked by numerous teams about the possibility of relocating as they wanted to shake up things in the league. It is unclear at this time if such a move would be supported in the league, but anything is certainly possible. There have also been numerous reviews over the leagues 4th down rules. "We continously strive to maintain the integrity of the league and make sure we give our team and fans the best possible experience", the Commissioner stated, "we want to review all rules and ensure they will be beneficial to the league." Other topics were dusted off such as renaming the Lombardi trophy after another American Icon, Kelly Kapowski. "This is a debate that just won't go away, we will continue to look at and explore all possibilities." One thing was made abundantly clear this week as the commish stated "We made sure the Dolphins organization knew who daddy was." If you want your questions answered, comment below so we can get them answered.

Wildcard Weekend Power Rankings

1.       Packers (14-2)

In a battle for the King of the North, the Packers came out victorious to close out the season.  This was a game all about the offense with whopping 94 points scored in this game.  This made for some football excitement and fans had to be extremely happy with Jared Wheeler’s performance.  Who would have thought the post Aaron Rodgers era would look so bright.  Watch out for this team as the road to the Superbowl goes through Lambeau.

2.       Vikings (13-3)

A loss to the packers is nothing to be upset about especially with QB Cole O’Brien having the season he did.  Both Javonte Moss and Stefon Diggs will look to put up big numbers this post season, similarly to what they have done all year long.  The look to make quick work of the Eagles in route to a 3rd battle with the Packers.

3.       Falcons – (12-4)

After a huge win over the 49ers in week 17, the Falcons earn a 1st round bye.  This will give them some much needed rest as they look to make a deep run in the playoffs.  This team has a long history of not doing anything in the post season.  Will the Falcons #RiseUp or get #FalconPunched out of the playoffs?

4.       49ers – (12-4)

Not sure what was going on with the 49ers this week.  Maybe they were content making the playoffs and not wanting to risk anyone getting hurt….because they didn’t show up to this game.  Hopefully they can shake it off going into the playoffs.  This team cannot afford Max Wood to go limp now.  The get the Cowboys in the post season.  They will be looking for a repeat of their week 1 performance.

5.       Browns – (11-5)

A continued force loss streak keeps the Browns steadily falling.  They have a bye week and a chance to compete in the playoffs.  We will have to see how this team fairs.  Browns fans should be concerned.

6.       Cowboys – (11-5)

Cowboys laid down and took a sacrificial force to get the playoffs going.  Rumor has it someone in the Vikings organization has some level of control of the Cowboys and for fear of having to live on the streets, the Cowboys brass decided to take “the easier road” and go to the 49ers.  Maybe they should reconsider as Max Wood’s Samoan nature doesn’t take too kindly to that.

7.  Ravens – (15-5)

2 words..one player…Joey Bosa.  This guys has been a 1 man wrecking crew on defense.  Defensive player of the year honors better go to this guy.  Watch out AFC, the beast is hungry.

8.       Eagles – (12-4)

This team got destroyed by Seattle.  In a must win game, they didn’t even show up.  This opened the door for the Cowboys to snag the division.  They lucked out with the Cowboys giving the force to division rival Giants.  This team cannot afford to get blown out in the playoffs like they did by the Seahawks.

9.    Jaguars – (10-6)

The Jags handled business and wrapped up the division in convincing fashion against the (you guessed it…the Bungals).  They are hopeful this will give them momentum to make a post season run.

10.       Broncos – (10-6)

The Broncos barely pulled off a win against the Chiefs defending a 2 point conversion for the win.  This team needs to get it together after 3 straight losses and a game in which they barely won.  Lucky for them, they wrapped up the division 4 weeks ago or this team might not even be here.  They have to get it figured out because on paper and stat wise, this team is a powerhouse.  Maybe the problem is they are too good for their own good.  We will see what happens in the post season.

11.    Bengals – (10-6)

The Kitty Kats aka Bengals lost big in week 17.  They have to find a way to get it together if they want to see further than the Wildcard round.  They will play either the Jags (and look for redemption) or the Broncos (who they beat in week 1 after a wild comeback).  Lucky for them, they should perform well as they just got blown out.

.

12.    Jets– (8-7)

The Jets have secured the 4 seed and look to have home field advantage against the Ravens.  How much of an edge will this give them?  Will the jets be the Dark horse and serve crow to the Ravens or will they be 1 and done?

CJ Anderson Crushes Rushing Records for Yards and TDs

In what will go down as the greatest rushing season of all time, CJ "2K" Anderson broke the single season rushing record in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins as he rushed for another 200 yard game, putting up 212 yards. He wasted no time breaking the 2,000 yard mark on the season as he took a 75 yard rush to the house on the Broncos first possession. Ultimately the Broncos lost this game, as Jay Ajayi took a 55 yard touchdown to the house that sealed the fate of the game. Trevor Siemian continued to struggle and threw a costly interception that would have put the Broncos in position to win the game. Anderson continued to make opponents pay as he crusied to a whopping 2,885 yards and 31 rushing TDs on the season.  He tied the single game record for rushing TDs against the Chiefs in Week 17 putting up 5 on the ground. He also broke the single game record with 313 yards, although it was extremely short lived with Joe williams of the 49ers breaking that same mark later in the day with 328 yards. "I just trusted my guys to to what they have done all season long. The guys up front continued to block every game and do their job. I wouldn't be here without them." In a crazy season, we saw 3 running backs break the 2,000 yard mark on the season. While this is certainly an accomplishment, it is more so for both the 49ers and the Broncos as they have subpar lines compared to Dallas.  Will we see Anderson become CJ3K next season? That's all for this season Bronco fans! Good luck to the teams in the post season.

Cam Newton: 2016 MVP

At the conclussion of another season, Cam Newton won his first MVP award. Newton was very humble and honored to win the award. "I would just like to thank God, my family, teammates, and the fans. Without them this would not be possible. It truly is an honor." When asked how he felt after his subpar performance in the AFC Championship game Newton remained classy. " Jacksonville came to play, and they were the better team that day. I am the quarterback of this team and I should have done more to find a way to win. I apologize for letting our fans down. We will be back though. This team is built to compete and we have almost an entire team returning." This is definitely the case as the Broncos look to re-tool in Free Agency and the Draft. John Elway has done a masterful job in brining in a supporting cast for Newton. We asked Cam about his thoughts on Aqib Talib and Devin Funchess being traded away while we had a moment of his time."Those guys are tremendous players and teammates. Funch didn't get the best opportunity here as Chris (Conley) stepped up big time. I wish him the best in Cincy and getting Darby for the defense is a nice move. Aqib was a veteran guy here and well respected in this locker room. He will be missed but I am excited to have Zach (Martin) out there blocking for me. He is one of the best young linemen in the league. Getting Bryon Jones out of the deal was big too. It is nice having a GM who knows how to build this team to succeed." Once again it was a great awards show and congrats to Cam Newton, 2016 MVP.

Commish's Corner: The Road To The Kelley Kapowski Bowl

The playoffs are 2 weeks away and the road to the Kelly Kapowski Cup will be an interesting one to watch. With the change in the names of both the NFL's prized trophy and the biggest sport venue in American history being changed, the sports world has been rocked. We simply felt it was time to pay tribute to something much larger than football giants. Miss Kapowski was a great American icon who captured the hearts of so many American's in the 90s. She is also one of the sexiest woman of the 90s (she is still smokin' even now). Let's take a look now at at the how things are shaping up and who will meet in the Kelly Kapowski Bowl.

AFC East

At midseason the Dolphins appeared to have the division locked up but with a change in ownership with both the Pats and Jets, the division race has gotten tight. With the phins game still needing to be played, they hold on to a narrow 8-6 division lead while the Pats and Jets sit at 8-7. Eat your hearts out Pats fans while you cheer for the Colts to win. If Miami finds a way to win, the division still could come down to week 17 as the Pats and Dolphins face in week 17 as well as the Jets face the Bills. The Bills are looking to spoil more than their own pants and upset the Jets chances at making the playoffs. The Pats currently hold the tie breaker and that game could decide the division. This is going be a real slobber-knocker folks.

AFC West

San Diego has wrapped up the division and will look to fight for the 2 seed in the playoffs as they still have a tough road ahead and must win out to have a shot. Denver after a series of madden losses will certainly look to help spoil that chance. Word on the street is that the Broncos are looking for blood after their first loss and hope to injury as many chargers as possible preventing a run at the Kapowski Cup for the bolts. Trade rumors are also swirling that Marcus Mariota may be coming to the Broncos. The Raiders are still terrible and have a lot of work to do in order to have a chance at being competitive. The Chiefs, on their 20th owner, look for a glimmer of hope going into next season and need to land a jewel at QB and RB in the draft, but with money being tight, it is something to watch.

AFC North

This is quite possibly the hottest division in the league right now. The Steelers and the Browns will fight it out for the division lead with week 17 being crucial for both teams. The Bengals meanwhile lick their wounds after Denver handled them this week and fans certainly hope the same fate doesn’t wait for them in the playoffs. Will the Bengals be the Who Dey Nation or will they be the same old Bungles. After a change in ownership for the Ravens, they look to be a relevant team….next season as it is too little too late this year.

AFC South

Justin Bieber is more relevant than this entire division. 2 new owners, the Texans and Jags are ready for this season to be over with as they have been a hot mess all season long. Both owners look like they will bring competition but will it stand the test? The Colts never let go of this division and have been the front runner from the start. The need to have healthy players in order to go anywhere in the playoffs though. The Titans made a push but fell short and look to make a better effort next season.

NFC East

It appears that the Eagles have it on lock barring an epic collapse in these last 2 weeks. Dallas had a change in ownership late in the game after he couldn’t handle the pressure of not being allowed to sim win his way. This new guy asks some homo things like “how big is everyone” and might have connections to the gay lover boys of PureMadden, but seems like he will bring talent. Washington remains a struggling team and the Giants owner after a sudden departure with an emergency returns and both teams look to compete next season and rise above mediocrity.

NFC West

The 49ers won the division with the weakest schedule to the Kapowski Bowl ever and has locked up a playoff spot barring the unexpected. The rest of the division need some tweaks in the offseason in order to have a shot at ever winning the division. The Rams were in the running for the Vegeto but after their last win it looks like this won’t happen. If I could give a worst division in the league award, the NFC West would certainly be the front runner. This division was once fierce, but when Jim Harbaugh left in a bitter divorce with the Niners, the whole division went to shambles.

NFC North

It looks like some competition might have come to the NFC North and will be fun to watch next year as the Bears Curse will come into full effect and the rest of the division has the ability to mop the floor with that no talent Jay Cutler lead team. Good luck this year in your road the Kapowski Bowl. Go balls deep since we know that’s your only hope Willie BEEEEMAN!

NFC South

Falcons are packing up and moving. Bucs will probably win the Vegeto. The Saints are once again the Aints and the Panthers look to make a push in the NFC but the road will not be easy by any means.

So who will be holding the prized Kelley Kapowski Cup at seasons end? That remains to be seen.

Commish’s predictions:

Kelly Kapowski Bowl

Eagles vs Charges

Final Score  24-21 Eagles

The Vegeto Candidates

Bucs

Cards

Raiders

The Vegeto Winner

Bucs

As Always, Thanks for making this this best league out.

Commission @H2O out.

Playoff Race Is Heating Up

The road to Super Bowl 50 is heating up quickly. With the trade deadline past and all things moving, the road to the playoffs appears to have a heated battle in the AFC for playoff spots, while the lackluster NFC appears to have 1 stand out team from each of the four divisions and everyone else is a bunch of dog slops( no offense to the owners, it is just a result of lack of talent within the entire conference). This has been a year of simmed games for the Cowboys as they sit pretty at 6-2 with at least 4 sims. Meanwhile in the NFC west the Niners with one of the weakest strengths of schedule get to coast their way into an automatic playoff bid. In the AFC, the last undefeated team has fallen and the surprising 8-0 run by the Cheeseland Browns came to an end when I change of ownership happened and the Steelers swooped in to secure the division lead. Things in the AFC West have heated up for both the Chargers and Broncos as they currently are tied at 6-3 but Denver has taken the division lead with both teams still meeting twice this year. Denver is riding a 3 game win streak and square off with the red hot Bears, led by Willie BEEEEMAN and Jay Cutler (that's not a typo). The only thing Chicago has going for that offense is Kevin White, which is a good thing because the shocking trade of Alshon Jeffery after signing a 7 year $85 million plus contract, it is going to come back an bite the Bears. They will be a Super Bowl or bust team as they won't be able to afford power for the stadium, let alone to pay the employees to sell tickets. This could be interesting as the Bears might file Chapter 13 Bankruptcy at then end of the season. Meanwhile the chargers have lost 2 of their past 4 games giving the momentum to Denver. That will surely be an interesting matchup to keep an eye on and it could come down to Week 17 to decide who takes the division. This Eagles have been red hot this season with the only loss coming to the Cowboys (not the user because he is too busy letting the CPU handle his business). Chip Kelly said he is making it his number 1 priorty to not play another CPU team as they don't enjoy getting bent. The Patriots are another red hot team after a change in ownership bringing the Pats to a .500 record. The Bills also are a team to watch, if this was the 90s. Who are we kidding? The bills are still irrelvant and Cory's claims to the commish throne surely point to some sort of dementia, or he is just channeling his inner Al Davis (Raiders will always blow). The Rams are maintaining pace to secure the 1st overall pick again and are certainly hoping they can make a splash in the draft with it as they are in desparate need of a QB. As you can see by the current standings the AFC is far superior to the NFC went it comes to providing talented users who are all hoping to not be that 1 team who doesn't make the playoffs while sitting at 11-5 or 10-6 and the NFC users get to coast in by virtue of being the special needs divison. Thats all the time we got for now here in the Commish's corner. Looking forward to the second half of the season with the GOON SQUAD. @H20 out!
