Jimmy Johnson Jr. headed to the Big Apple

The Chiefs organization thanked Coach Jimmy Johnson Jr.  today for his commitment to the Kansas City Chiefs over the past five seasons.  As anyone close to our team knows, Jimmy gave his staff and players literally everything he had.  This season the team was 1-7 and the players still competed for Jimmy to finish an extraordinary 8-8 and second best in the AFC West. Fans alike know, and have great respect for him.

Jimmy also represented the Chiefs very well in the WFL community and has been in nothing less than a first-class  head coach. Taking over the team 4 years ago, he inherited a 1-3 team that ended up 10-6 and a playoff appearance. That counts for a lot....Currently the coach is 37-27, 2 playoff appearances, and coming off one of the best turnaround seasons we have seen in a while. However,  it is unfortunately evident that the Chiefs must make a change. The Chiefs and Jimmy thought it would be best to do it immediately after today’s result of the Superbowl so that they could give Jimmy time to accept a contract offer  from the NewYork Football Giants and get settled in NYC.

Coach Jimmy Johnson Jr. leaves an extremely talented team and a very loyal and patient fan base, for New York where he will have to show and prove. The Giants are no slouch either, but he will immediately have to address the Quarterback and Halfback situation as well as fill in the gaps. Can he have the magic with Odell Beckam Jr. that he had with Tyreek Hill, and can he get the defense back to championship caliber. Only time will tell as the offseason officially begins in less than 24 hours.

THE HUMAN CHEETAH

Speed always has defined Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill. It's what immediately excited his coaches, instantly frightened opposing defenders and eventually transformed him into an Elite WR in the WFL. Tyreek has proved himself to be an unquestioned star. His continued success in 2017 and into 2018 will depend on how quickly he can add to an already impressive skill set.

If there is one thing that stands out as the Chiefs move deeper into playoff contention, it's that Hill's performance is going to play a huge role in whatever this team does. There is no more Jereny Maclin who was too expensive to keep. Sure, there is still Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce, but he can't carry the passing game by himself. This team ultimately needs Hill to be an even better version of the player he has been this entire season if the Chiefs expect to go deep into the Post Season.

We all know the man whose nickname's "Cheetah" is arguably the fastest player in the league. What isn't so clear is how he'll perform when defenses have another full offseason to prepare for him.

"He's a weapon in so many areas and every defensive coordinator that's out there is concerned about him because of his speed," Chiefs offensive coordinator said. "We just need to make sure that, as we go forward here, we put him in the right spots, we don't overuse him and mentally you want to stick to that less-is-more mentality, so that he can play fast and make quick scores for us as he has done all season."

The Human Cheetah can impact the game through so many methods that it's ridiculous for the Chiefs not to use him as much as possible.

Chiefs emerging

Chiefs rookie quarterback Patrick Mahomes continues to impress in the regular season as he has carried the team to a 5-3 start.

Mahomes currently boasts a 103 qb rating. He is 54 for 87 with 740 yards passing of which he has put up 6 passing TDS and just 2 interceptions. While not the most impressive rookie QB of the bunch, he is carrying this team to victories and keeping them in the game. Some can argue that the 3 headed monster Jeremy Hill, Spencer Ware and Kareem Hunt in the backfield are currently holding the Chiefs up and making it easier for Mahomes II to make the right reads less frequuently. Only time will well whether this fully loaded Chiefs team will emerge from the pack and be a contender this year. They are currently being overshadowed by the 7-1 Oakland Raiders.

The Tyler native was promoted to the No. 1 quarterback spot after another injury plagued QB Scotty Sloan in week 1. Alex Smith was not available for comment, but many have heard that he strongly supports Mahomes II.

No Love for KC

The Kansas City Chiefs are the most underrated team in the WFL.

There, I said it. They’re more overlooked despite beating the Raiders, the Texans, and 49ers – heck, even the Falcons get more attention than them. Yet, all the Chiefs have done  is find ways to  win football games, with a battered team.

They’re 8-3 since Troy Taylor took over early in the season. As it stands right now, the Chiefs are the biggest threat in the AFC. They are quickly approaching a wild card spot and excelling on the stats board as the 5th scoring team, and 1st in Passing Yards and Total Yards a game. The are currently the 8th best team in the AFC, but some argue that the 4-9 Jets shouldn’t be in the discussion at all. The Steelers, under new management have started to miraculously win games, and the Texans and Titans are both holding on for dear life.

What makes the Chiefs so dangerous is the fact that they can get it done in so many different ways. Alex Smith went down for a game and a half, giving way to Scotty Sloan  as the quarterback. He came in and executed Troy Taylors  game plan to near-perfection completing  77/135 passes for 1575 yards and 12 TDs. Unfortunately, late hits leading to multiple week injuries has plagued the young QB who seemed to be on his way to outperform the likes of several other QBs both Vet and Rookies who we will not mention in this article.

It wasn’t just Smith and Sloan who have gotten the Chiefs to where they are. Hill, Kelce, Conley, Maclin, Rogers, and recently acquired Tevin Campbell (600 yards and 10 TDs in just 4 weeks) have all played remarkable games. Unfortunately, Superstar Tyreek Hill has been placed on the IR list for the season, but the Chiefs haven’t missed a beat. Since the Chiefs began this hot streak in Week 10 they have been solidifying them as the #1 underdog threat to the AFC.

Granted, a large portion of their wins are not against the best teams in the league, but they’re fairly talented in their own rights. They’ve beaten the teams they should’ve – usually in dominant fashion – and boastfully can say that they beat 3 teams with playoff aspirations (Texans, 49ers and Raiders).

But What makes the Chiefs so dangerous is their defense. Play makers, Justin Houston, Dontari POE an elite pass rusher, Dee Ford,  Eric Berry, Marcus Peters have all stepped it up on defense this season. It’s players like those that keep the Chiefs in games.

The Chiefs don’t do one thing better than every other team in the NFL, but they do a whole bunch of things extremely well. They protect the football, move the chains in a variety of ways, and run the ball with great efficiency. Oh, not to mention, they have one of the best defenses in football …

The AFC better watch out for the Chiefs, as should every other team in the NFL. They’re scorching hot and playing as well as anyone. It’s time for everyone to stop overlooking them.

Chiefs All #CHARGEDUP

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the LA Chargers 38-24 in week 10. Alex Smith had a 133.4 QB rating putting up 425 yards and 4 touchdowns on 15/21 completions. Not only was Alex phenomenal after the loss of young WR Tyreek Hill, but the Defense also came up big for the Chiefs who trailed 17-3 at halftime. Coach Troy Taylor was asked about what he said to the team in the locker room at half, he replied "You gotta have guts to play this game. I questioned each and every man on the field to show me his passion for the game in the second half." The win over the Chargers now puts the Chiefs back into the playoff conversation as the team will be 5-5 entering week 11. Its quite possible the team could win all the rest of their games the rest of the season being the opponents they are facing are a combined 16-24.

Scotty Sloan Speaks on NFL Refs

Scotty Sloan comments on NFL Refs. The rookie sensation went down with a perfect passer rating and huge momentum for the second time this season due to a late hit on what otherwise would be a huge yardage passing play. Coincidence? or bad Officiating? The Chiefs ended up defeating the undefeated Raiders 20-17 late in the 4th quarter on a game winning FG. The entire country watched the team muster up all of their strength, led by Alex Smith who too felt the pain of seeing team mate Scotty go down yet again from a late hit in the backfield. The Commissioner has yet to respond.

Sloan out....Alex in?

And so the story goes....Troy Taylor kept rookie sensation Scotty Sloan in the game trailing a superior Raiders team 34-0 in the 3rd quarter of last weeks game. To much dismay, Scotty is said to be out 3-6 weeks. The Chiefs now head out to play the Texans and the question on everbody's mind is "Does Alex Smith have the Guts". The claim that he does not, was brought up by long time NFL player and ESPN reporter Keyshawn Johnson, who among other things blasted Coach Troy Taylors actions to keep Scotty in during the blow out as risky, unprofessional, and recklass endangerment. He also said that the decision to run Scotty to the ground was just as bad as the Redskins decision to keep RG3 in several games in his 1st year that "broke" the young quarterback. On the other side, Alex Smith, has taken a new tone with media. He says, he is ready to get back with his unit, and says he is in the best shape of his life.

Alex Smith demands Trade

In a new interview with Veteran QB Alex Smith, that has yet to be released, rumors leaked out that the 34 year old QB feels he is in his prime and ready to play football. Since doing the interview with The Insider, Smith has been on Twitter expressing his disappointment in Chiefs management and new Head Coach Troy Taylor who he says has not spoken a word to him since joining the team Week 2. Alex Smith is currently seeking to be traded and Coach Taylor had this to say "This is Scotty Sloan's team".

Unproven Troy Taylor

Its a warm afternoon at Arrow Head stadium in week 1. Veteran QB  Alex Smith goes 21 for 27 and 230 yards. despite his decent pass completion percentage he had 0 touchdown passes. The Chiefs drop the game 31-7 and management points the blame at coaching and staff. By week 2, the Chiefs have dropped long time winning coach, and hired unproven coach Troy Taylor. Rumor has it that the GM was sucker punched multiple times by several members of the coaching staff after entering a coaches meeting and blasting them for the terrible loss to Pittsburgh. The event was not caught on camera but management decided to part ways with several staff members. The end result, Alex Smith is benched and rookie QB Scotty Sloan (drafted 32 overall) gets called up in week 2. When asked about the decison, Coach Troy Taylor said that he didnt like the inner politics, and wanted to give the Chiefs a breath of fresh air. On the flip side, Scotty and Taylor both have a history. Scotty played QB for Troy Taylor as a youngster in their local Pop Warner league back in Alabama. It was only right that Troy tap the shoulder of his young pupil. In his debut start, Scotty threw for over 300 yards and 4 TDs. The Chiefs quickly came back from a 16-0 defecit to win the game 34-32. Will the storied and successful franchise of last year, remain a powerhouse in the playoffs? Will Scotty Sloan continue on his path to greatness? Lastly, where does Alex Smith go from here? The veteran qb was not available for comment. Written by Noodle Arm...

OFFSEASON RULES PLEASE READ ENTIRELY

Good afternoon, Coaches,

The season has progressed very smoothly. We appreciate all of your hard work and efforts to keep this league highly active and competitive. Please, be aware that the Playoffs and Offseason are upon us. We hope to be In Season 2 of Franchise in the next week.

With that said, here are a few rules you MUST know before diving into Offseason.

I. Free Agency Trades: Any player signed in Free Agency must be on the team for a full 16 games before being traded.

J. Free Agency:
1. There are no restrictions on how many FA's you sign.
2. This is something that shouldn't have to be said. Don't sign a player to a max deal with no bonus so that he will sign with you just to cut him a year or two after.

3. For every $10 million in salary, there should be at least a $2 million in bonus (20% of base salary) to go with it.
-For example: If you offer a player $50 million over 5 years in base salary, the final contract should be worth $60 million.
-Another example: If you offer a player $5 million over 1 year in base salary, the final contract should be worth $6 million. Failure to follow these easy to use budget management examples will result in, suspensions of players or players having to be released--with cap penalty at the expense of the owner.

4. Cutting and Resigning CANNOThappen ever:

If you release a player and sign him back, we will assume you are cheating the system and that player will be removed from your team. Any player dropped by accident must remain in FA for 2 advances. Dont make this mistake....

5. Any Player that was signed or traded for during the season MUST be on your team a FULL 16 games. If a Player was signed or traded for in Week 7 of 2016, He is ineligible to be traded until Week 7 of 2017. UNLESS the panel deems it fit for the player to be traded earlier. This is no guarantee...

New Panel Members

Due to the level of work it requires to make sure trades go through smoothly, we have decided to elect new panel members to help facilitate the process.

For all NFC teams approvals you should go to: Chiefs(priestmvp) and Bengals(nahplaya)

For All AFC teams Approvals you should go to: Vikings (Mr_HitthatKush) and Lions (Darien Coles)

Our new Support Commish, will be "Buccs-Zach" He will have Daddy League powers and console powers but is not to advance any week without permission from MaddenAddicts, Mix, or Cory. He can Auto people, sync daddy leagues, make sure rosters are straight, keep up with trade regulations, Fa signings etc.

For all trades that involve an AFC and NFC team, ONE approval from an AFC panel member and ONE approval from an NFC panel member must be recieved before trades can be made.

Please note that Commissioners MaddenAddicts, Cory, and Mix have the right to reject or reverse any trade we deem to be unfair.

You should also note that from this point forward, trades can only be "transacted" via console or Daddyleagues when advance happens.

Example: You have a trade approved in the beginning, middle, or end  of week 5--- You're trade cannot be transacted or processed until the beginning of the next advance(Week 6).

This is being done so that Commisioners have adequate time to make sure all trades are fair.
