The Kansas City Quitters???

The Kansas City Quitters is what the media is calling this season's Kansas City Chiefs. After hanging head coach for the 5th time in two years, the Chiefs are still trying to find an identity. The offense under rookie QB Jacob Eason has not been bad, but the defense can't stop opposing offenses despite having premiere pass rushers and speedy secondary. Owner Jimmy Morton feels the team is a couple of steps away from competing but knows the team still needs work and plans on using free agency and the draft to make the Chiefs more competitive. Jimmy Morton has decided to stick with coach John Fox and plans on getting the proper pieces for Foxes 3-4 defense. Owner Jimmy Morton has not quit and a new fire has been lit after a players meeting was called, and owner Jimmy Morton was asked to come and made to feel like a part od the players. He has a renewed spirit and is going to do all that is possible to get the Chiefs back on track.

Lions going into BYE week

The lions are sitting at 2-2 going into the bye and some people around the lg are suprised considering they have been playing close games even in losses. Jimmy Morton of the Lions addressed a few things with media.

On Calvin Johnson

First thing first Yes we are shopping Calvin Johnson but before you point fingers at the Lions Calvin asked for a chance to play somewhere else because if he stays here till the end of his contract he will never play anywhere else I told him his best chance is here but he brought up some good points I'm not going to discuss with the media. We are in a retooling phase here in Defroit and its all business

On rookie running back

hes a rookie it's that simple the kid has made some amazing progress and this last game had a decent outing give the kid some time before you try and scalp him we knew that out coaches would have to coach him up in the running game but what this kid can do coming out the backfield for a pass is amazing. He will finish strong I can promise you that

on whitehead:

we as an organization have decided we want to keep whitehead as a lion so are in ongoing negotiations but he is 200% professional and plays his ass off every snap.

On secondary

look Spriggs can play! Stats speak for themselves kid has 2 interceptions and zero passes allowed him and Slay are doing a fine job we do allow more yards than I like but a change is coming soon here in Detroit Rock City

Chat with Lions head coach Jimmy Morton about position changes

Lions have asked player to change positions so that it will have a better 3-4 defense and Ansah first practice as an OLB he moved awesome and was quoted as saying that was the most natural he has felt his whole football career:

owner Jimmy Morton statements:

ON MOVING TO A 3-4

Look in Detroit we have superior athletes I'm just gonna be blunt the previous owner must of been a dumbass to allow this team to be as bad off as they were when I took them over. They were running a 4-3 defense here and personally I think under utilizing the talent we have here in Detroit I want big nasty guys in the trenches that allows my OLB to do their jobs and pressure the QB. Zeke is a beast as an OLB and he came to me and said he felt even more natural being able to stand up! I mean can you believe a kid that is a monster as he is saying something feels even more natural? Whitehead who we tagged because we did not want his talent out of Detroit and will give us some extra time to try and figure a deal shows what a player he is by being here every practice. He will be out other OLB and moving Levy to ILB along with Tulloch I feel we honestly have one of the best LB core in the GFL and I don't wanna forget the kid Spruill who took a pay cut to stay here in Detroit. Ngata is my man on the dline he will move switch from end and tackle depending on the situation. I need someone to step up on the dline and I feel we got our guy in free agency Reyes is a nasty dude who has experience in the 3-4 defense and bully Winn is a big strong guy who was lost in the depth chart of a 4-3 defense.

ON SECONDARY:

Its no secret that is a weak spot, our secondary is something I am trying to address thru free agency and also the draft but some of you media guys like to forget I have one of the best young CB in the GFL in Darius Slay and believe me when I took this job the phones calls flew in asking if he was for trade and honestly I thought about it for a split second and then I met the kid and watched his film one word came to mind BEAST! Also I have some pretty damn good safeties in Glover Quinn and Dig but  I do need some depth and working on it thru draft

ON TRADING overall number 1 pick to Bills:

Look it sucks having first pick because that means your team was not competitive so I wanted that stigma off my back anyways because that was not MY Detroit Lions pick. As I stated early I met with Caldwell when I bought the team and told him finish the season with no major changes because we really didn't have the pieces in place to do what I wanted. He seen his way was not going to work and asked me to give him a chance to stay on as the Lions head coach and I told him point blank that results is what I expect nothing less and nothing more.  Now back to the pick Jim from the Bills is actually who I found out the Lions were for sale so we have a working relationship as it is and he asked me if I was going to keep Stafford I told him absolutely and he told me he was interested in the kid from TN Sean Griifin and there has been rumors swirling and I had been contacted by a few other owners and I was up front with Jim and told him I was going to take the best deal possible but knew I would be trading out of the first slot he told me his first second and third this draft I knew it was the deal for me because I am building a team that will not only compete this year but years to come.

ON TAKING MEGATRON OFF BLOCK:

If you can't tell I like nicknames so how the hell could I let a guy go with such a cool nickname as Megatron? In all seriousness though players like him come once ever so often and yea he is getting older but I need him to be a leader on this team and he still has a few more years in the tank yes financials have some to do with it but I want Calvin to be a part of the revival and be part do Deteoit Rock City!

Owner Jimmy Morton said he will speak one more time before draft after free agency is officially close

The new kids on the block and not the boy band

The Detroit Lions have had some good times and recently some very bad times. In the GFL competition is very thick but an entrepreneur has stepped up and bought the struggling franchise late last season think he has what it takes to not only make the team more competitive but can help them reach the playoffs in an already talent ridden NFC north which is home to last years super bowl champion Vikings. There are a lot of doubters and rightfully so being that current owner Jimmy Morton came in last season and did not make much difference. When asked why there was no real difference and about the rumors the Lions were "tanking" for the top draft spot owner Jimmy Morton had this to say:

I didn't want to lose but this is my team now, to truly get someone to buy into your system you have to let them know without a doubt that thier system is not going to work so I let the coaching staff continue their own methods for the remainder of the season. I spoke with Jim and we are on the same page this next season we will be competitive or he will be finding another job. I do not and will not sugar coat anything.

On upcoming draft:

who am I gonna take with the number 1 pick? Good question if you figure it out you tell me. Truth is there are a lot of holes on this team that I feel I along with my staff can fill them the draft so I am in talks with teams to move back in the draft because I need more depth. Now I am going to take nothing less than what I deem worthy but who knows if Lions will be taking the number one pick or not won't know until Sunday morning when the clock starts ticking.
