The 2015 GFL Season is here, and the New York Giants look to improve on last years abysmal 6-10 record.
This team is the definition of a head scratcher, they found a gem in Odell Beckham Jr. Eli Manning had a good year statistically, but the offense couldn't find it's identity, ranking 26th in points, 21st in total yards, 20th in passing and 14th in rushing. With a healthy OBJ, Victor Cruz, 1st round pick Ereck Flowers and FA acquisition Shane Vereen there should be a new dimension to this Offense. Defense wasn't much different, ranking 19th in total yards allowed, and 28th in rushing yards allowed. The only "plus side" was that they ranked 13th in points allowed, and 15th in passing yards allowed. But if mediocre is a plus side, this team needs to reevaluate their priorities.
Drafting Landon Collins in the 2nd round, the return of Prince Amukumara, and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie packing on 10 pounds of muscle should help their secondary. This is a make or break season for Head Coach Tom Coughlin, who is already on his last leg at 69 years old. It's very likely that even if the Giants survive with at least an 8-8 record, Coughlin will be gone. It's time for this team to look to the future, and build around their young potential stars like OBJ, Andre Williams, Damontre Moore, Jonathan Hankins, Devon Kennard, and Amukumara.
If they can capture these players ability in a bottle, it's not impossible for them to win 10, or even 11 games this year. This team has all the tools to make their own fate, let's see where they go with it.
