Colts - Rebuilding or Ascending? Interview with the Owner.

Edwin Mitchell sat down with Colts owner Antonio Ortiz to ask about the state of the team, offseason, and what to expect this season. - Thank you, Mr. Ortiz for sitting down with the Indianapolis Star today. Now I'm going to ask you some questions I hope you're ready *Ready.* - First of all, why did you buy this team after the damage the previous owner did? - *When a NFL team is up on sale, and way below average asking price how can you turn that away? Plus I always wanted to turn a team around, I love the challenge. So what was one of this organizations darkest moment, was a the perfect storm for me. Though it really hindered us, we start this year with no more fallout of the previous regimens poor decisions.* -Well, taking about poor decisions, this past offseason did not go so well for you guys. You lose Stephen Hill in Free Agency, who was a top 10 receiver this last year. You trade a 4th rounder for Ben Roethlisberger, after Brian Hoyer was in a top 10 for passing yards. You trade away the 15th overall pick who turn out to be in what some experts say, the best player of the draft, and possibly having the worst draft in Colts history. - *Wow... alright then... well the offseason didn't really go according to plan. We had a couple big names lined up, and none of them signed. Then Stephen told us he was signing with Baltimore. That was a pretty big blow for us, because he was a really big part of the offense. So we got desperate, and traded for a promising Wide Receiver. About Brain Hoyer, yeah he was in the top 10 for passing yards, but people forget that he also broke the record for most interceptions. Why wouldn't I try to get a two time Super Bowl winning champion Ben Roethlisberger for 4th rounder!? Now my reasoning for trading back from the number 15th spot, wad because I did not expect the best player in the draft to drop down to 15. But it happened, yeah it hurts but we move on. Is it the worst class in our history? I think that's absurd, we have some great potential in these rookies.* -Last question, are the Colts in rebuilding mode or ascending(to the playoffs) mode? *We're in rebuilding mode, but we're definitely thinking about ascending also.* - Thank you again for your time Mr. Ortiz- *Oh! You're welcome. You know Edwin, you can at least take me to dinner next time before you FUCK ME!*
