Skins New and Improved ?

Hellllloooooooo WASHINGTON,

We are back discussing our new favorite football team out of Washington. We will look at the billionaire owner who purchased the team and look towards the future in Washington.

As a long time Rams fan(Formerly RamsFanatic69), I am interested to see how former owner of a highly successful Rams franchise in the dissolved Gridiron Football League will make his mark in PFL. From what we know in LA, the Skins will be a balanced team with a Strong Defense and a Strong OL/RB combo. Seeing as the former GM of the Skins gave Kirk cousins a ridiculous 4 year deal , the Skins are pretty much locked at QB. Though they have been seen heavily at collegiate games scouting QBs…

The Skins have the number 4 pick and with many holes to fill they may be looking to move back and pick up more assets.  Free agency will be a telling sign of how the Skins plan to build their team. There are a few promising positions that the Skins already have and will be looking to build around.

QB -  Kirk is a good game manager that can occasionally win ball games. We love to see him step up and become THE GUY.

RB – Samjae Perine really showed his value to the new Owner and GM the last few games of the season.

He looks to be the front runner to start next season.

WR- Josh Doctson did not have a great last few games to show his worth to new Management, but I’m      told he could still be THE MAN next year.

TE- Jordan Reed had a solid year making the Pro Bowl. He will be a main factor next year.

OL- There are a few solid pieces still on that OL but look for the Skins to make that a focal point. We know the Owner loves his OL.

DL – Johnathan Allen is an absolute monster. Look for the Skins to line him up all over the DL to create One on Ones.

LB – We really want to see Sua Cravens back at LB. We feel he is just too big at safety and can’t move with the athletics slots.

DB – Josh Norman is really the only DB worth mentioning here. Look for the GM/Owner to make heavy moves for this position group.

Well that’s it for now. We will talk either after free agency or after the draft to discuss the looming season. #HTTR

Reflect and Rejoice

The Rams are sitting pretty at 12-1 behind a dominant D and competent O. Wrapping the NFC West up this week, the Rams now set their eyes on the first round bye. Also, do the Rams start to sit players and get ready for the super bowl run? Looking back on recent history, it would be better if the Rams left all their players in until week 17. I would like to believe this team is mature enough to handle a one week bye and come on firing in the divisional round, but multiple bye weeks and having players sit just does not seem beneficial. Sure there is injury concern, but we don’t play the game not to get hurt. The Rams Oline really looks polished up front and the RBs are really taking advantage. One person we were glad to see get some late game carries last week was Lesean Mccoy. He has sort of been on the backburner with all the depth at RB, but Coach Turner has finally found some value in McCoy with these clocks consuming fourth quarter drives. His experience in the back field has really helped Brett Hundley settle down and start making better decisions with the ball. On defense we really have to take our hands off to the scouting department and general manager. They’ve brought in 2 new starting corners via free agency and the draft, and they are really shutting things down. Geneo Furio has been on fire with his 7 interceptions and Senquez Golston has taken the challenge of guarding the opposition’s number one WR all season and is really holding his own with 5 interceptions.  The Rams Dline has also been on fire of course with Donald leading the way, but an under the radar trade with the Denver Broncos brought Derek Wolfe to pair with Donald and company and boy they have not disappointed. 61 sacks later, the Rams sit near the top of the league.

Plenty to look forward to but It’s great to stop and reflect on the season thus far. Especially with the departures of Goff and Gurley last year.

Ramming That D

The Rams have been unbeatable this year and that is directly attributed to the defense playing lights out. Holding teams to an avg of 18 and 2 turnovers per game, the defense has given the offense a much need spark at times and leave opponents wondering what could have been.. The offense are putrid in total offense but the are 5th in scoring offense at 29 points a game.

The 4 headed monster in the backfield: Nino Jameson, Jay Ajayi , Lesean Mccoy, and Ameer Abdulah

has made life so much easier for Brett Hundley who has thrown 12 TDs to 2 interceptions up to this point. Expectations in LA have been high for the past 4 years with LA taking 2 out of the three division titles with a fourth in sight. Is it too early to start considering the playoffs? I think not… Although the Rams have had much regular season success, not much can be said about their one in dones in the divisional playoffs. I know owner Floyd Mayweather is not happy about playoffs loses, and it is safe to say with the turnover last offseason, Floyd is looking toward playoff victories combined with regular season success. All in all, this start for the Rams is enough to garner much needed upgrades in the concession stands and team store and the fans are very appreciative.

LA Resurgence

WELCOME TO LA 2019!

We are back my friends! Welcome to LA 2019 and the make up of this team has vastly changed from what you may remember. As hinted all last year, The Rams were going to let go of either Gurley or Donald. When the smoke cleared, Gurley was gone, Ammer Abdulah, Jay Ajayi, Lesean Mccoy, and rookie Nino Jameson appeared. Also who disappeared in that smoke was Jared Goff… This move was very unexpected but what the Rams acquired with the Goff trade was a nice receiver in Demetris Robertson and a stud guard in Ben Bredeson. So who replaces Goff? In comes Brett Hundley the UCLA product who has been in the league a couple years now. Backed up by Mike Glennon, the Rams have clearly made the statement that they want to run the ball and use the QB to convert when they have to. With that OL being led by Greg Robinson the Rams look to solidify that wall this year with a stable of backs doing the work. Gurley was given a big plate, but with a dislocated hip last year the Rams felt they could get the running back by committee rather than hold the franchise hostage with a Gurley contract. The Rams still did not address the need that everyone thought they would, but we will see if their gamble pays off this year by solidifying the O.

I say this right now… WATCH OUT FOR THE RAMS DLINE! These guys are nasty being led by Donald. In the one preseason game I saw there were 5 sacks, a safety and a Forced fumble.  Donald play half a quarter by the way…. If this defensive could snap back into form from two years ago, they may be a force to reckon with. Although on the back end, they leave a lot to be desired. Athletically, the secondary is a step slow but process the game faster than any secondary in the NFL. Hopefully coach Turner can scheme up some greatness on the backend. I know the players can handle it the adjustments. I just want to give a quick shoutout to these two rookies that I feel will have a solid year on D.

Geneo Furio – A 6’2 corner who earned a spot on this roster looks to become a lockdown defender. Learning behind Trumaine Johnson and Lamarcus Joyner, I see no reason why he won’t be a contributor to this defense this year.

Gordon Basanez – a 6’6 290lb versatile DE looks to play both DT and DE this year. This dude looks like a monster and who better to teach him than the guy who may be the most disruptive force in the NFL, registering 58 sacks in three years of GFL work… Aaron Donald.

Bottom line, I fully expect better than 6-10 this year. The divisional winner 49ers took the crown last year at 9-7 so I see no reason why the Rams can’t compete for that division title..

All L's Matter?

This season has not been pretty for the Rams. It ain’t been ugly either down the stretch. Gurley has come on really strong in the last 5 games, hushing all rumors that he is ready to don free agency. Donald has been Donalding all season making it clear he is a HOF player and talent that loves the LA spotlight. Goff has been sliding off the road lately, throwing more interceptions than touchdowns this season. Coming up on his contract year, next year will be telling for him.  Jalen Strong since coming back from injury is looking like he is ready to take over the #1 wr position. Week 17, the Rams look to play the Denver Broncos. Nothing to gain for the Rams, but it looks like there is something riding on a Broncos victory. With nothing to play for last week, the Rams dominated the Seahawks in a 31-14 victory. The Rams with a victory will knock themselves out of a top 12 pick in the draft, but losing the last game is always a bitter taste. Coach Turner must navigate a slippery slope this week. Don’t be surprised to see Donald, Gurley, and Goff pulled early. Then again, don’t be surprised to see the same players play all game. Coach Turner has never been in this position, but I have full faith in his decision making.

ON TO RAMMING THE OFFSEASON.

Football gods, please have mercy on us

“The football gods have not been too kind to the Rams this year.” That’s an understatement. Every skilled starter plus J.Goff were injured with a dislocated bone somewhere which required at least 7 weeks of healing. It shows on the stat sheet as the Rams are 28th out of 32 teams in total offense. This past week however, the Rams were finally able to dress all starters and it showed. The real dilemma, at 5-8 do the Rams start getting some young guys in to prove themselves or do they continue to claw and fight and try to finish 8-8 saving face? The whole vibe around the locker room would say that this is a prideful bunch that will try to end on a high note to lead into the offseason. I would love to see the team go guns blazing down this last stretch of games.  This season up to this point feels like a total wash, but I’ve personally seen flashes from some young guys that get me optimistic about the future.  With Gurley and Donald looking to don free agency, the Rams will need to make a choice on whom to bring back via franchise tag. Right now, seems like the Rams will bring back whoever provides the most impact to the team. Gurley being hurt 8 games this season, does not help his chances, but he has come on quite strong in his three games back totaling 434 total yards in his 4 games back from injury. Either way a part of the foundation will be lost this offseason, but I have total faith in the Rams to finish strong and have momentum rolling into the offseason.

LA Rams offseason 2018

Sorry about the hiatus folk, but like Drizzy says you know LA traffic have the city slow..  We are here for the Rams Overview & future plans. Rams have had two amazing regular seasons that ended disappointingly in one possession losses in the div round. The team still looks very bright with Gurley and Goff leading that offense in the run balanced scheme. Defense hands down have been all universe with Donald being crowned king of the NFL last year (MVP). So how do we take the next step? We will walk through our thoughts and feeling of this team going forward.

-          QB

o   J. Goff

§  J Goff has done a good not great job of game managing. In his 3rd year we’d like to see his TOs decrease and the TDs increase. With the trade of Tavon Austin for Demaryius Thomas,  Goff should be licking his chops knowing he can throw it up and DT and Strong have a strong(no pun intended) chance to catch the ball. He has all the tools, and with Gurley behind him, there shouldn’t be a problem taking advantage of the defense stacking the box.

o   Future?

§  Goff for now is the foreseeable future, but don’t be surprised to see the Rams take a late QB to sure up some depth.

-          HB

o   T.Gurley

§  Gurley is HOF talent. We’d like to see him in the open field a lot more. Rather that be better holes and getting to the second level or catching more out of the backfield, we need to see Gurley make those electrifying plays we all know he can make.

o   Future?

§  The team has brought in Danny Woodhead to hopefully get some help in the receiving game out of the back field. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Rams take a late RB or UDFA RB this year to sure up the depth. WE DO NEED TO SIGN GURLEY AS IT IS HIS CONTRACT YEAR.

-          WR

o   Demaryius Thomas & Jalen Strong

§  We tabbed these WRs together as we feel this is the same person born in a different year. We hope with DT arriving, Strong looks to him as a mentor to be able to take that next step when it comes to making the contested catches.

o    Curtiss Samuel

§  This youngster from Ohio St looks to be dominant in the slot. No Tavon means more reps for this youngster. We believe he will have a good year on special teams and in the slot while DT and Strong demand attention.

o   Future?

§  Strong and Samuel should be here for an extended period, but the Rams will need to take another WR in this draft or the next.

o   TE

§  J.Amaro

·         We just pray Amaro taps into the potential we believe the coach believes he has. We are not sold on him what so ever.

§  Joesph Fauria

·         Coming off an average season, we think it’s time for Joesph to go. He will dazzle you with hard catches but drop the easy ones. I’d rather have the latter.

§  Future?

·         Look for the Rams to draft a TE next year if Amaro doesn’t pan out.

o   OL

·         There are some pieces… G. Robinson, Charles Andrew, Jamon Brown (Didn’t up a sack last year) look to lead this line. Definitely would not be surprised if the Rams sewed that OL up in the draft. There is some talent there that can be developed.

o   DL (Donalds)

§  Aaron Donald

·         GET THE DAMN DEAL DONE WITH DONALD. THE INK SHOULD BE DRYING ON THE CONTRACT RIGHT NOW.

o   I mean seriously, if we screw this up they can move back to St. Louis with Nelly Murphy Lee and the St lunatics.

§  Future?

·         Also, look at the Rams to search for a pass rusher. Hand up or hand in the dirt.

o   LB

§  Alex Ogletree

·         Ogletree leads that group with the playmaker Mark Barron desperate to get the respect he deserves.

§  Future?

·         Barron and Gooden are getting up there in age at the OLB spot, but I hear the Rams have some quick learners who are getting ready to take over.

o   CBs

§  Group

·         These corners may have the best hands in the league for DBs. Coverage may not be lockdown and beautiful, but they are aware of their surroundings and recognize what’s going on around them. Look for them to make the splash plays.

§  Future?

·         There’s room for DBs on this team. The owner has made such very clear.

o   FS

§  Deon Akins

·         Rams let Maurice Alexander go because of the potential and the cost efficient player Deon Akins. I guess the Rams will throw him in the fire and let him learn on the go.. Hey worked for Goff.

§  Future?

·         Deon Akins.

o   SS

§  T.J. Mcdonald

·         TJ is getting up there in age but his production is not decreasing. Look for him to continue the leadership role especially for Akins.

§  Future

·         As T.J continues to mentor, I hope the Rams find a young SS to come in and learn from him as well. Time will tell.

As always this division is always up for grabs, but we the seahawks losing Kam and Sherman, Niners searching for their calling card / cornerstone, and Arizona getting in their own way and getting older, we fully expect the Rams to compete for the div title once again...

Dangle Season 2020

Can you hear that? Can you feel it in the air? Yes GFL it's that time to D A N G L E.

KC coming off a respectable 9-7 2019 stint looks to be either in transition or loading up for one more run at greatness. With Justin Houston and Travis Kelce up in age and management keeping them on, it looks like they will finish their careers in KC. Which raises the question.. Where do the Chiefs go from here?

KC started off hot going 4-0, then cooled off quickly. Over a 9 game stretch KC went 2-7. Even prompting a quick QB change during the losing streak. Then Andy Reid made a drastic change.. Benched the molasses producing RB Justin Hunter(reportedly on the trading block) and inserting hungry R.T. Brackett. He even benched the vet Vince Mayle (known for making the tough catches) for young gun Mychal Austin. Seems like Andy Reid was giving up on the season giving the young guys a  chance to prove themselves.. R.T. Brackett absoluteley beasted the last 4 games, rushing for over 500 yards in a 4 game stint. He showed he can carry the load for a run game the Chiefs have been missing since Jamaal Charles left. Mychal Austin also proved he can be a viable sure handed vertical threat. Catching 23 balls for 295 yards over a 4 game period.

Justin Houston still can play at a high level illustrated by his pro bowl selection, but athletic ability is lacking so KC has moved him to DL permanetly. Shouldn't be a big transition for the vet as he has been playing with his hand in the dirt for most of the season in KC's 2-3-6 system.

Travis Kelce is now a heady vet who can still make anybody look bad in the pass game and look very weak in the run game. He is still a very viable threat. He has also been teaching the youngin Cole Martin how to be a professional.

YES... Chris Conley and Desi Gator still race after practice to see who is faster. They both had good season in 2019 and look to continue to produce in 2020.

Brandon Marshall, Aaron Lynch, and Shawn Jennings are looking to improve on a formiddable season in 2019. Who will be the #2 MLB?  David Mayo took advantages of his oppurtunites but he is not a starter.

Adrian Todd is everything KC thought he would be when they drafted him last year. Almost winning DROY. (Voted by owners as the DROY).  Marcus Peters and Mario Young still solidfy and great KC secondary.

Can't forget to give the Oline some love. They all got paid last year and they all produced like professionals should. I fully expect a dominate Oline in 2020 since KC is bring everyone back.

After a somewhat sophmore slump Angelo Hernandez looks to return to his pro bowl shape. 2020 the game looked to fast for him as he was throwing uncharacteristic interceptions. I fully expect him to be back at the probowl level especially with a solid Oline and good run game.

In the middle of the season last year it felt like the Chiefs were looking towards next year and looking at 2019 as a rebuild season, but now it looks like KC was retooling and is now primed and pumped for a great run in 2020.

Chiefs Offseason

Chiefs’ Offseason

QB – Angelo Hernández coming off a probowl year is looking to avoid the sophomore slump and continue his success lead the potent chief offense.

HB – Julius Hunter is looking to take the reigns from Jamaal Charles, this evident by Hunter beating Charles in a 50yd dash. (It wasn’t really even close.)

FB -  Anthony Sherman is still expected to dominate as a FB should. Plowing through LBs making the hole bigger than a vagina giving birth.

WR - Some questions arise from this group. Ruben Randle was traded and this leaves the door open for Chris Conley to finally step. Will he step up in his contract year??? Desi Gator continues to learn the art of route running with Jeremy Maclin. Gaitor had a good year and is looking for an even better one in 2018.

TE – Travis Kelce still has ADHD and continues to never run out of energy doing everything the Chiefs ask without any complaints. He took a step back in receiving but his blocking was outstanding.

OL – Positions continue to be interchangeable and it doesn’t seem to really matter. With DJ Fender and CJ Morris leading the way along with Jackson Young, this Oline continues to look as dominant as it did last year.

DL – Positions here are also interchangeable and with the Chiefs acquiring Calais Campbell and Terrance Knighton along with unsung hero Mike Devito. This Dline looks to be an improvement from last year.

LOLB – Justin Houston continues to perform at a pro bowl level. I’ve heard the Chiefs may be looking for his replacement though.

MLB - Brandon Marshall is coming off a career year where he almost won AFC DPOY (If it wasn’t for his teammate.) Hopefully he continues that run and looks to mentor a young MLB stud placed next to him

ROLB – It’s put up or shut up time for D. Ford. He looks the part. Has the skill set. He just hasn’t produced like the Chiefs thought he would. Junior Gallette is up there in age and he is ready to hand the keys to the young pup.

FS – ALL HAIL Mario Young! What an animal. Consensus Rookie of the Year. 10 ints 4 forced fumbles. Over 100 + tackles. This dude is the man hands down.

SS – Mario Young’s success has greatly come from Eric Berry who is coming off a pro bowl himself. He looks to continue to mentor as well as perform at a high level

CB – Marcus Peters and Phillip Gaines are now thrust into starting roles now that Sean Smith is gone. Peters faired very well on the number 2 receivers but is he ready for the big boys? Stanley Jean Baptiste and Tharold Simon also look to bring their physical nature to the secondary.

K/P – WHO TF CARES

Danglin

D A N G L E.

Since season two Chiefs’ owner Eazy E has been using the term dangle. What exactly does it mean?

Dangle - hang or swing loosely or offer (an enticing incentive) to someone.

Coming off a 12-4 run and a playoff berth, players are finally starting to buy in to the philosophy that is dangle.

Eazy E says he using the term dangle as a means to offer or entice someone.  “It all started when I was watching my dog beg for a treat. I would dangle a Vienna sausage in front of him and he’d do whatever I said. So I thought, why not apply that to these GFL owners. Dangle a player in front of them and see what they’re willing to do for that player. Once you slap the word dangle in front of a player that player becomes even more enticing to someone.” Eazy E.

Talking to players however, they use the term dangle in another way.  Justin Houston stated, “Ever since I’ve started to dangle, I feel freer and play looser on the field oh and my wife loves the dangle technique off the field.”

Desi Gaitor said, “Yeah I dangle. I dangle all the time, I’m danglin now.” He yelled in the locker room, “Aye! Who in here dangles!?” the locker room responded “If you aint dangling you ain’t poppin!”

However you want to use the term dangle, it has certainly got the attention of the GFL and the Chiefs are looking to dangle to even more success in 2018.
