Lions Prey on Cardinals; Jackson leads 4th quarter victory

It was a good day in Detroit, as Lamar Jackson, and backfield mates Corey Grant & Leonard Fournette put the game on their back. In a back and forth contest, the Lions were able to deal the game late in the 4th with a halfback screen to Leonard Fournette who absolutely planted defensive back Denzel Ward as he galloped to a 25 yard score. This wouldn't be the only touchdown coming from this backfield, as Corey Grant was able to score from 2 yards out in the 3rd, while Leonard Fournette added 2 rushing touchdowns on the day, including a 75 yard run up the middle where he broke several tackles, as well as hurdled a diving defender.

Darby, Lions roar past Bears

In a one sided affair, the Lions completely dismantled an upstart Chicago team. Forcing 9 turnovers, and netting 6 sacks, Ronald Darby led the way with a pick 6, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Despite Darby doing the scoring, Anthony Brown had quite the day himself, as he was able to nab 3 interceptions. On a day with several standout players, Anthony Brown was able to outshine with forcing 3 turnovers himself. A great sign for the corner who under performed just a season ago.

Adding insult to injury; Falcons fall, Rosen out 5 weeks

In the 4th quarter, Josh Rosen was attempting to make a come back against the Detroit Lions... Unfortunately for Rosen, the Lions roaring defensive line was making sure that didn't happen. On a routine dropback, Rosen was chased out of the pocket, only to be crushed by 3 Detroit Lions defenders. Tough break for the second year player, as the initial injury report shows he tore his throwing shoulder and will be out for a minimum of 5 games.

Lamar Jackson lights it up

In the second game of his second season, Lamar Jackson accounted for 7 touchdowns in total against a Buffalo Bills team that put 64 points on the board in week 1. When asked what motivated him to have such a great week, he replied, "Well it all starts with the preperation. There isn't a lot of game film at this point in the year, but that 64 point beatdown that the Bills put out there last week spoke to me loud and clear". Having to only throw the ball 14 times in this lopsided victory, 60% of Jackson's passes found their way into the endzone. Getting caught up in the running attack of the Lions, Buffalo opted to send 8, and 9 man blitzes consistnetly throughout the first half; Jackson made them pay dearly for it.
