Restarts, Bootlegs, Sweet Chins, Throats Cut, and Fun, oh my! A madden 20 story

In m20, we were able to complete 10 seasons. Throughout that time we saw some notable users exit. Wesley traded his whole squad to ravens, settled down with Ciara and left. Mikey pulled off one more heist and found himself in NRG prison. Ryan went into business on his own and started a cfm. Like most small businesses, he did not succeed. Rod started a twitch channel, got blown out, then left. He later returned with a guy that had a number for a name, which is ironic cause he didn’t like committing to a number/time to play. Bobby’s 3-4 pinch defense couldn’t save him from controlling his emotions. Speaking of that defense, I think I saw that in an AFC championship game recently. Jennifer played hard to get, and left us. There were more that came and went, but like Chea’s confidence, this league was not effected by their departure. We just keep on rolling.

This cfm was pretty competitive. Each conference won 5 titles, though if we hadn’t restarted, jags would have won 8 more titles in the next 5 years. At least that’s what he says. No one won more than 2, and some were able to win their very first NRG Super Bowl. One of the users to achieve this was cowboys. The man that kept getting those shiny stars that light up under his players  back in the restarts. At least that’s what some say. Some will also say that team in the bay benefited even more from a restart. To them I say “I got them rings though”.  A little rascal became a man and won his first two titles. But then he started doing a world tour, spreading covid like all the youngings, and he was never the same. Mr Bcar won titles with two different teams proving he could win with anyone. And the little engine that could got the job done with NO and won his first title. It was bigger than his college graduation this year. At least that’s what some say.

It was a fun year full of tears after breaking the rules, headaches from wiping your tears, and then me just laughing at your pain.  We restarted a couple times, I had to boot some of ya’ll, but at the end of the day I had fun. Hopefully you did too. My advice to you guys is to remember this is just a game. No need to get upset and puff your chest......... especially when u did something against the rules. Your Xbox has a power button, turn it off and go enjoy life in the real world.  47 seasons completed, let’s keep having fun.

NRG Mid Season Report

AFC North

Ravens-Thus far Ravens hold top spot in the division... with aggressive play calling on both sides of the ball they look the denounce the cloud over the staffs head of not winning the “Big one”. With suspect Losses to lesser teams are the ravens Lamar Jackson run around and launch deep that hasn’t been working lately? Or are they more and just simply a sleeping giant... Grade-B+

Bengals-Newcomer with flashes of skill and talented roster but simply not adjusting great at the moment to the diverse talent of a top tier league. With a good core in Mixon and Quinn Bengals could make noise but first they’re going to have to put some wins together. Grade-D

Steelers-Simply a team with talent and grit but not the savvy it takes to be a top team... will continue to be around .500 but fun to watch vs top tier teams through 3 quarters...Grade-D

Browns-Arguably a top 3 madden roster it seems this organization just cannot get over the hump.... As rumored “ethical play” has loomed over this staff’s head can they one day live up to expectations? Thus far has been a trying year looking forward to what the future holds for this consistently competing organization...Grade-C+

AFC South

Jaguars-Simply a top organization thus far... dominance of his division and conference has been unprecedented... Will someone in the AFC step up or will jaguars dominate into M21...Grade-A

Texans-Simply the “joker” of the AFC never know what you’re going to get... many claim his usage of “X factors” bails him out of bad situations but isn’t that what you pay top guys for?? Simply makes questionable decisions but always finds a way to compete... terrible losses to non playoff teams plague this staff but this year something is different? Can the Texans make a run? Or will this staff continue to be trade bait as a top 10 draftee?...
Grade-C-

Colts-Irrelevant at the moment

Titans-Irrelevant at the moment

AFC East-Unfortunately due to lack of users and low ratings of the bills/jets games we do not have an analysis... entire division is irrelevant at the moment.

AFC West-

Broncos-With a strangle hold on his division and the addition of Apke the Broncos made early league wide noise!! Can count on a fight with every match and staff does not need top offensive talent to win games. With rookie Drew Lock at the helms the hot routes and play calling by him at the LOS is top 5 in the league, this skill has allowed Philip Lindsay to run into the Bronco record books as well. Will the broncos get over the divisional hump? Or will teams such as Jags/Browns/Ravens plague him for that SB appearance?...
Grade-C+

Houston Gunners-New change in staff has produced a lot of takes for Skip and Shannon On undisputed but will the team cash the checks the coaches are writing? Or are we looking at another pretender from the YouTube world of play... With a decent roster and superstars at the wideout/safety/and Lineman position can they make a run? Grade-C-

KC Chiefs-Simply disappointing... you have the firepower on offense they have with newly drafted star rookie HB in Childress yet this team cannot get on track.. horrific losses with even worse defensive play calling have people wondering if there’s even an effort. There are bright spots but none that aren’t already expected can this staff turn this team around or are they future lottery picks for years to come? Grade-F

Raiders-Solid organization who show up to play regardless... not a good team nor do we expect them to compete but keep fighting.
Grade-D-

NFC-North

Green Bay Packers-Simply the class of this division almost consistently guaranteed 5-6 wins off division foes alone... with 3 years of huge choking in the playoffs this staff has the pieces and have made big trades in the past... with the recent ROY QB at the helms future is bright but how long before the candle burns out on that defense? Big regular seasons and huge Regular season wins can they avoid being the colts of the 2000’s?...Grade-B+

Chicago Bears-irrelevant

Vikings-Irrelevant

Lions-irrelevant

NFC South

Panthers-2X division champs and recent SB runner up this GM has dirt on someone in Chicago’s ownership... with the recent savvy moves to boast arguably the BEST defensive unit in NRG history a SB is in the eye sight... with simple yet effective offensive play calling the Panthers have the recipe... but will they actually maximize the talent? Or falter again ? Regardless of the accusations of how they play... the panthers PLAY HARD. Grade B

Saints-This organization had a surprise SB run in year 2  by defeating high quality opponents during that Playoff run.but other than that has been more chatter than results... huge overhaul with Star players leaving and rookies running the show makes this squad interesting... NO has been consistent in win column but after missing playoffs can they get back? Or will they complain on division mates secrets to success?? Thus far they are simple high risk high reward defensively and let the Hogs win the game offensively... Will it carry into another SB run? Grade B-

Falcons-Maybe the bust of the M20era... with a SB ready roster from year 1 then draft acquisition of arguably top 3 NRG RB In “Heroin” the falcons can show SB winning qualities one week and the next wonder if the coach is drunk. Unfortunately excuses has riddled this city and Arthur Blank has some decisions to make... they’re 1 more underachieving season from making our irrelevant list... can they turn it around and play football like the league know they’re capable? Grade D+

Bucs-irrelevant

NFC East

Cowboys-To start the league best “win now” roster we’ve seen in a long time... and that’s what they did... destroying everything in its path with simple play and keen execution the Cowboys were inaugural SB winners... since then nothing but underachievers. With big overhauls due to cap casualties can this staff show they’re more than 1 year hit? Or will we see Jerry stressed out come another December ??  Grade-B-

Redskins-One of the most unexpected built powerhouses of a roster this team can win it all... or not make it at all... consistent play from star RB Cam Akers gives them a chance but vs the top tier they’ve given Little effort to show they belong in the conversation. Stout defense sub par offense savvy coaching is always a key to success... can they get over the hump? Or will they just be a “good” team that never could. C+

Giants-Irrelevant

Eagles-irrelevant

NFC West

49ers-consistently a Pain in the rear for his division... doesn’t always come out hot but ends up in the dance... with 2-3 bad playoff losses in the first 3 years can they get over the hump? Will this staff be known for doing nothing this M20? Or will that defense finally finish in the playoffs?? GRADE-B-

Cardinals-Unique in their ways they’ve innovated the game with vast free agent moves and a QB who is fearless... the acquisition of AK41 has paid off... will this team overcome the traditional cardinal struggles? Grade C+

Seahawks- Great team to start a franchise with have sunk to the bottom of the barrel, has beaten the best of guys and lost to the worse... will this staff actually stay engaged the whole game going forward? Or after the sight of demise they leave mid game? This club is a couple of bad games from becoming “irrelevant” let’s see if this will change!
Grade-D

Rams-This org has built an awesome team built to compete... simple with them... will they be able to overcome lapses in big games? Or will they continue to underachieve by their own standards. Grade C

A Look Back at NRG M19

Lets look back at all the ups and down of NRG M19

Biggest Disappointment:

This was a close race between the Ravens and Raiders. Two former AFC juggernauts struggling to sniff playoffs. In the end, the Raiders ran away with this award. Spyda stayed in the fight, resorting to all out blitzes, while Raiders took his ball and went home. It was a very shocking turn of events considering how much the Raiders seemed to have his way with the AFC the previous madden. The arrival of Chucky ended up being a horror story for the raiders this year.

Biggest Bust:

Is there any debate here? Jimmy Wolfe was drafted with the 17th pick, and was looked at as the savior of the Falcons' organization. Instead, he was a bum. Through 4 seasons he threw 116 td's to 138 int's. 2 time SB champ, Grant Snow was drafted 12 picks later. All the blame can't fall on his shoulders though. The Falcon's coach and Gm seemed clueless, trading away stars, and even being forced to forfeit a game because of a reading error.

Where's Waldo

The Saints coach has proven he could succeed when he only focuses on football. The only problem is he's a family man. The love he has on things outside of football are just too much. A lot of times he called out of work and would just ask Albert Patterson to run the team for him. At least his priorities are straight, Family > Football

Biggest Surprise/Best Player/Biggest Diva

Ryan was coming off an impressive m18 run. In madden 18 he was able to win a lot of games in the season, but he would always fall short in the playoffs. He was looked at as a non threat to start m19. With a late pick in the team selection he was rewarded the chiefs. As Julia Roberts said in the all time classic "Pretty Woman", HUGE MISTAKE. Chiefs would go on to only lose 1-2 games a season, with one undefeated season accompanied by 4 rings and 6 super bowl appearances. He was a NIGHTMARE. The chiefs' coach was thriving and wanted to make sure everyone knew it. If any of other coach's were having a discussion, he would make sure to turn the conversation back towards himself. If a coach liked BBQ chips, the chiefs' coach would chime in making it known that Doritos are superior and he is the creator of the recipe for it. As a result of his in your face, all about me attitude, a lot of other coaches emailed Rodger Goodell asking he be removed as owner. That request was never met. M20 is coming, and with that a new nightmare.

Striking Gold

When John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan took over this team 3 years ago no one expected immediate improvement in the win loss column. Instead, they were trusted to put the pieces together. Find the talented players, draft players they could build around, and eventually strike gold. This duo have delivered on the first part of these expectations. Solomon Thomas, Reuben Foster, Jimmy Garoppolo, Christian Hill, Jarrick Hill, all make up a strong core to build around. But where is the championship, where is the gold? In year 4 now, expectations are through the roof. The phrase “It’s go time”  is all over the 49ers facility here in Santa Clara. The coaches, gm, and players are all aware that it is time to perform. All the pieces are in place. The coaches have put in the work. The only thing left to do is strike gold.
