In m20, we were able to complete 10 seasons. Throughout that time we saw some notable users exit. Wesley traded his whole squad to ravens, settled down with Ciara and left. Mikey pulled off one more heist and found himself in NRG prison. Ryan went into business on his own and started a cfm. Like most small businesses, he did not succeed. Rod started a twitch channel, got blown out, then left. He later returned with a guy that had a number for a name, which is ironic cause he didn’t like committing to a number/time to play. Bobby’s 3-4 pinch defense couldn’t save him from controlling his emotions. Speaking of that defense, I think I saw that in an AFC championship game recently. Jennifer played hard to get, and left us. There were more that came and went, but like Chea’s confidence, this league was not effected by their departure. We just keep on rolling.
This cfm was pretty competitive. Each conference won 5 titles, though if we hadn’t restarted, jags would have won 8 more titles in the next 5 years. At least that’s what he says. No one won more than 2, and some were able to win their very first NRG Super Bowl. One of the users to achieve this was cowboys. The man that kept getting those shiny stars that light up under his players back in the restarts. At least that’s what some say. Some will also say that team in the bay benefited even more from a restart. To them I say “I got them rings though”. A little rascal became a man and won his first two titles. But then he started doing a world tour, spreading covid like all the youngings, and he was never the same. Mr Bcar won titles with two different teams proving he could win with anyone. And the little engine that could got the job done with NO and won his first title. It was bigger than his college graduation this year. At least that’s what some say.
It was a fun year full of tears after breaking the rules, headaches from wiping your tears, and then me just laughing at your pain. We restarted a couple times, I had to boot some of ya’ll, but at the end of the day I had fun. Hopefully you did too. My advice to you guys is to remember this is just a game. No need to get upset and puff your chest......... especially when u did something against the rules. Your Xbox has a power button, turn it off and go enjoy life in the real world. 47 seasons completed, let’s keep having fun.
Biggest Disappointment:
This was a close race between the Ravens and Raiders. Two former AFC juggernauts struggling to sniff playoffs. In the end, the Raiders ran away with this award. Spyda stayed in the fight, resorting to all out blitzes, while Raiders took his ball and went home. It was a very shocking turn of events considering how much the Raiders seemed to have his way with the AFC the previous madden. The arrival of Chucky ended up being a horror story for the raiders this year.
Biggest Bust:
Is there any debate here? Jimmy Wolfe was drafted with the 17th pick, and was looked at as the savior of the Falcons' organization. Instead, he was a bum. Through 4 seasons he threw 116 td's to 138 int's. 2 time SB champ, Grant Snow was drafted 12 picks later. All the blame can't fall on his shoulders though. The Falcon's coach and Gm seemed clueless, trading away stars, and even being forced to forfeit a game because of a reading error.
Where's Waldo
The Saints coach has proven he could succeed when he only focuses on football. The only problem is he's a family man. The love he has on things outside of football are just too much. A lot of times he called out of work and would just ask Albert Patterson to run the team for him. At least his priorities are straight, Family > Football
Biggest Surprise/Best Player/Biggest Diva
Ryan was coming off an impressive m18 run. In madden 18 he was able to win a lot of games in the season, but he would always fall short in the playoffs. He was looked at as a non threat to start m19. With a late pick in the team selection he was rewarded the chiefs. As Julia Roberts said in the all time classic "Pretty Woman", HUGE MISTAKE. Chiefs would go on to only lose 1-2 games a season, with one undefeated season accompanied by 4 rings and 6 super bowl appearances. He was a NIGHTMARE. The chiefs' coach was thriving and wanted to make sure everyone knew it. If any of other coach's were having a discussion, he would make sure to turn the conversation back towards himself. If a coach liked BBQ chips, the chiefs' coach would chime in making it known that Doritos are superior and he is the creator of the recipe for it. As a result of his in your face, all about me attitude, a lot of other coaches emailed Rodger Goodell asking he be removed as owner. That request was never met. M20 is coming, and with that a new nightmare.
When John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan took over this team 3 years ago no one expected immediate improvement in the win loss column. Instead, they were trusted to put the pieces together. Find the talented players, draft players they could build around, and eventually strike gold. This duo have delivered on the first part of these expectations. Solomon Thomas, Reuben Foster, Jimmy Garoppolo, Christian Hill, Jarrick Hill, all make up a strong core to build around. But where is the championship, where is the gold? In year 4 now, expectations are through the roof. The phrase “It’s go time” is all over the 49ers facility here in Santa Clara. The coaches, gm, and players are all aware that it is time to perform. All the pieces are in place. The coaches have put in the work. The only thing left to do is strike gold.
