The Sons of Washington had a team come to town in the Bears who seemed to have thier number. The Bears allowed WAS to move the ball, but not far enough that it counted. We'll start with the offense. For the first time this season WAS committed the QB job to one man and it was Haskins. Haskins came in and took the team down the field pretty accurate showing great progress from his week one debut vs the Eagles. He ended the day with 19/33 with 239 yards 1 TD and 1INT. He was quoted after the game by saying the following. " Coach Gruden told me mid-week that I would have the nood to start this week. As a rookie I know my time can be limited so I didnt want to disappoint him. I know we didnt get the win and my play is apart of that so Im hoping Im given that chance next week until we get it right". Washington had a more settle attack with one QB playing the position. Now that the QB battle is over we can focus on some of the weakness of the offense. How about we start with the idea that they only had 9 rushing attempts this game. For a team that is expected to feature its back field they that is low. They will need to commit to the run game more to protect the rookie QB from injury.
Washington defense had a name show in the headlines we're not use to seeing and it was rookie LB C.Holcomb who was able to get his first sack of the season. While we are mentioning sacks. This would be the first game of the season Josh Allen didnt manage to get one. Hopefully, he can turn that around next game.
In addition, Ryan Kerrigan came up short in sacks, but made his presence known another way by catching two INTs. Washington defense was able to keep another offense under 200 yards passing, but they still find themselves struggling to shut down the run. The strength of this team is supposed to be the teams defensive line, but right now that isnt the case. This week the Bears were able to let Cohen out the cage for over 180 yards. Washington needs to change something in their scheme to bring home the wins.
Washington attempted to make the expected and dare we say highly favored Cowboys leave the game humbled. If you saw the game the score board and feel of the game did not tell the same story.
Dak was held by a defense which showed promise in week one. They picked up where they left off and came out even stronger. Making plays more so by getting the other teams offense off the field. WAS held the Cowboys offense to under 200 yards passing.
Of course that meant the only way the Cowboys must have moved the ball was on the ground. In fairness to WAS, they were able to hold Z. Elliot to 4.8 yards per carry - until he got one carry that pushed him to 8.8 yards per carry. Elliot was a non factor until the Dallas line sprung him for a 77 yard run to pay dirt.
Washington had put up a good fight, but in the end were no match for the Cowboys offensive power. The only positive to note on defense was that the team collectively slowed the passing game down. However, they forced no turnovers and only had one sack. For the record this is Allen second game recording at least one sack.
What seems to be developing as the teams weak point. The offense came on the field and still had no identity. They tried to run it and they couldnt. They tried to pass it and to a turnover or sack. What we see is that this team has no awareness of who they are no go to formula for success. Uncertain about who is who the team once again started off with two QB's. Haskins had the better day in this one 12/17 166 yards and 1 TD. I think the team would like to see him more around the 250 to 300 yards per game while creating space for the running game to reach over 80 yards a game. This season is going to be more difficult if the team cant decide who is going to lead from the QB position as its normally where the ideneity of the team comes from.
One thing about playing division rivals early is he who prepared the most gets the win.
Washington came into this game looking like a team on a mission defensively forcing the Eagles to turn the ball over on their first possession of the game. Sadly, they weren't ready on offense and gave the ball back less than a series later. Keenum ended up getting the nod to lead the team as he left the game throwing 6-8. WAS offensive cordinator admits that he hasnt gone deep into the playbook yet as he's still curuious to see what his teams wide reciving core can do. WAS enters this season with very few known names at the position. In fact the only noted name that would scare the opposing team little if at all would be Paul Richardson. Mainly know for his speed and deep play ability. Aside for him the wide reciving core are filled with no named players who will have to prove themselves this season. Keneem eneded up leading the team as they started off with the rookie. He came in and looked like he was way behind the teams system. His throwing was everywhere but to the WR's. Haskins connected for 9/19 134 yards and 3 turnovers. Not the start Haskins wanted for his rookie of the year campagin.
Defensively the team tried to hold there own, but they kept giving up field position offensively which placed them in a bad spot. Names like Allen, Everrett and Kerrigan manage to greet the QB once. While the secondary intercepted the ball three times. One was made by newly aquired Landon Collins (S), LB Sean Hamilton and the other by the Savage himself Josh Norman. This team has a long way to go if they plan on getting back to a winning way.
After having players signed to the roster late last season by the name of Josh Johnson at QB. The Washington Redskins took no chances in making sure they would not repeat those steps. For those who don’t follow the team they suffered a major blow at QB when newly traded starting QB Alex Smith went down with a leg injury. At the time the team was fighting for a wild card spot and Smith was only beginning to understand Coach Grudens system. Smith injury was said to be career ending. Surprisingly he has worked hard this off-season and will be expected to return to the team after week 11.
This creates a dilemma if you’re in the front office because they made sure to draft young talent at that position in Dwayne Haskins, not to mention the VET QB McCoy who is to be rewarded a decent amount of cash this season for his services is currently on the roster. To make matters more interesting the team has grabbed Case Keenum to help either start or playback up to the kid Dwayne Haskins for the 2020 season. The true outcome of this dilemma probably rests on Haskins ability to adjust to the NFL level and pace. We will see if these guys can figure things out before the games start to count. Who knows Keenum might be up for a trade if the organization can put hopes in the highly expensive Alex Smith returning before seasons end?
Winner of Super Bowl 13 & Super Bowl 14. Magic Lamptart has officially left his legacy with SPC by being the first back to back Super Bowl winner! In Super Bowl 14 he was able to hold-off the Jacksonville Jaguars lead by Coach Tech for a defensive win.
The Ravens entered week 5 with the faith of entering week 6 as a team over 500. For the past two weeks the Ravens have out performed their opponent as they lead in yards gained, passed, ran, first downs and more. The only statics they didn’t out do their competitor were in turnovers and 3rd down conversions. The Ravens had one turnover where the wind or some unknown factor lead the ball completely away from the target in the end zone. While the Eagles had struggles as well turning the ball over 5 times in the air. The one thing they did not turnover was the score. Eagles were in control of this game to the last second on the score board with the final being 27-20.
Offensively we team is getting the balanced they’d like to with the run and the pass. Jackson line this game was 294 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 7 sacks and a completion ratio of 25/40. Jackson threw for 62% on the day where the quarterback staff wants him to get closer to the 70’s range. The team wants to work on giving Jackson more plays that he feels comfortable with to ensure his success.
The running game is not bad by most standards for todays NFL, but the Ravens prefer to have the run game play a stronger role game to game. Highlight for this game of course was finally seeing something more than nothing from rookie Rafeal Roosevelt. He gave the team a good average this week with running 3 carries for 23 yards. Hopefully, this will continue to get better as the season carries on.
Defensively, I don’t think it can be said enough. The team is working to do its best without Pierce, but we can see how hes missed in the little things. His presence was needed greatly in the run game as the Eagles were able to literally run in the gap he would normally play. Nonetheless, the highlight for the defense was finally getting more turnovers. The team defense walked away with more than 5 INT on Wentz for the day. With this kind of output, you would think the team would have won, but this obviously wasn’t there day.
Warriors Get Seasons 1st Shutout 36-0
Hard to downplay the Warriors win over the Packers as they dominated them 36-0. In todays world of football and the massive amounts of schemes and players, its a rarity to have a shut out. However, the Warriors were able to pull this off by running a complete balance attack on both sides of the ball.
Looking at the offense:
Alex Smith did an excellent job controlling the ball and the game through the air going 21/28 for 260 yards and 1 touchdown with no
Ints. Smith was able to connect with Crowder for his first TD this campaign for 43 yards. Other good mentions for offense was P. Richardson Jr. who went 4 receptions for 70 yards. On the ground the Warriors were able to push the rock with their lead back Derrius Guice who had 11 carries for 75 yards, which was his highest rushing total yet this season.
Normally in a game like this you would think the Defense would have had a crazy amount of sacks and turnovers. Surprisingly, the Warriors ended the game with 3 sacks two by their defense LB Kerrigan. However, Norman (2), Dunbar (1), Foster (1), and Brown (1) were able to maximize their opportunity to force a turnover.
Next week we'll see if this game has them focused for a another high powered offense in the Saints.

deos at TinyPicWashington stepped on the gird iron not knowing what to expect from their high paying off season acquisition in Alex Smith. Smith who was signed to a 71 Mil dollar deal this off-season to replace Kurt Cousins. Smith knew he was taking on a team and franchise that would want to see some immediate success at the QB position. Well, not only did Smith give the team a good performance by going 13 of 16 for 189 yards and 1 TD. Coach Gruden would have liked to get more yards out of him down the field, but at the end of the day he said "The overall goal of our QB's are to move the ball down field and at all cost avoid turnovers. Alex did a great job of that". Next week the Warriors will go to face the Colts with one of the leagues primer QB's in Andrew Luck. The defense will need to be ready for every route and throw.
Its no secret that the Washington football team lives to play its division rivals each year. This year they had their chance at the Dallas Cowboys in week one, and simply put... Washington showed no promise from last years losses to the Cowboys to this year. New year same results. Although the Redskins lead by Coach Hog tried to build the defense over the off-season... It seems like if this plan is going to work it will be weeks from now.
The Redskins were able to take the win versus the Falcons this week by sticking to the run game as 2nd year player Perine ran for 21 carries and 67 yards not be out done by Hill who ran for 18 attempts for 98 yards. The Redskins should have a fun match-up next week as they will host the superbowl champs in the Titans
The Washington Redskins continue to find there way this season as they add another loss to their season. It seems that the Coach had the QB playing better in this one, but Cousins who went 18/24 still didn't get a TD nor the victory. Washington has to come up with more answers to whats being thrown at them if they plan on making the post -season as each game counts from this point in.
The roller coaster rid just went for yet another dip as the Redskins faced-off with the Cowboys for the 2nd time this season hoping to get some form of revenge. However, that hope was met with heavy resisitance as the Cowboys were able to best them again. This would be the Cowboys making the statement that they have the Redskins number. The Cowboys had an unstoppable rush as they accumulated more than 10 sacks. This along with putting up more than 48 points in both matches for the year.
Finally the Washington Redskins were able to get back to the win column when it seemed they quite on themselves last week. The Redskins were able to get more than 125 yards on the ground in this bout against the Texans, which opened the game up late in the 2nd half. Washington knows better than to celebrate thinking they've arrived giving the fact that they got a good taste of humble pie last week.
