Bl ReDraft

Let’s take a look back at the wonderful night of December 7th where we held our first draft of M22. Redraft selection is based mostly on production, draft position and the dreaded eye test. Not looking at things like attributes and trade value. Let me know what I got right and, more importantly, what I got wrong!

Pick 1- Justin (Chargers)

Original Selection - FS Juan Bronson

Redraft - WR Michael Holloman (1.5)

Free Justin Herbert. You trade up to #1 with MVS as your WR2 and have an all-world WR staring you in the face and you pass for a safety that has gotten you two interceptions.

Pick 2- Nick (Eagles)

Original Selection - CB Braylon Hampton

Redraft - CB Rashaun Haywood (1.8)

Braylon was the top CB for a lot of people but has struggled early on his career with 1 pick to his name. Rashaun came off the board at #8 and has equaled that with 8 picks for a top AFC team.

Pick 3- Bos (Lions)

Original Selection - CB Jay Rodgers

Redraft - CB Jay Rodgers(1.3)

Sticking with Jay cos he’s my guy. 4 picks on the year and would have 7 if Austin didn’t pull the plug :eyes:

Pick 4- Cmass (Ravens)

Original Selection - QB Don Washington

Redraft - S Matt Hall (1.21)

Trades Lamar for a haul and selects Don to lead the Ravens to glory. So far, it hasn’t worked but it’s early, we believe in the Don!

For this redraft we’re going to pass on the QB early and take another Steeler DB. Matt Hall jumps from 21 to 4 and will slot into the backend of this young, hot and fast Ravens defence.

35 tackles, 4 TFL, 6 INTs and 2 TDs for Matt on the year

Pick 5- Ben (Texans)

Original Selection - WR Michael Holloman

Redraft - WR Glen Allen (4.11)

Ben knocked it out the park by taking the best player in the draft. Unfortunately that means he’s not available for this redraft. We’re gonna stick with WR and select Glen Allen who jumps all the way from the 4th round to the top 5. He currently leads all rookies in yards, albeit only by 2 and has hit 10 TDs. Could he work outside of a Gunslinger system? I don’t know but I believe in Ben to get him the ball.

Pick 6- Connor(Saints)

Original Selection - WR Rashard Robinson

Redraft - RB Dwyane Potter (2.29)

Not been a great year for Rashard Robinson as he’s yet to top 500 yards. We’re gonna switch this pick to a RB and while Michael Castle on the Saints is having a fantastic year we’ve got to give this one to Dwayne Potter from the Bears.

Dwyane jumps from the end of the 2nd round. He’s currently #1OROY and has over 1700 all purpose yards and 19 TDs.

Pick 7- Chase(Cowboys)

Original Selection - DE Jeremy Rushing

Redraft - DE Jonathan Talley (1.11)

Rushing was the first Edge off the board and he’s struggled early with only 2 sacks and 3 TFL. Same position, different player, enter Jonathan Talley. Talley has been a monster off the edge for the Rams with 8 sacks and 11 TFLs.

Pick 8- Steel(Steelers)

Original Selection - CB Rashaun Haywood

Redraft - FS Juan Bronson(1.1)

Sorry Steel, we’ve already drafted two of your players! That means you did a good job!

Juan Bronson finally stops his slide and ends up in Pittsburgh. Fun fact: Juan was steel’s guy and he was very upset when I traded #1 to Justin even though I had no idea! Well, now he gets his guy.

Pick 9- Kiing(Jets)

Original Selection - WR Xavier Mullins

Redraft - MLB Greg Crisp (3.22)

Mullins has been fine as a rookie, not good, not great. Sitting at 600 yards and 7 TDs with only half the catches of his teammate RB Kene Nwangwu. At pick 12 Kiing takes a LB so we’re gonna move that up to here but switch the player. Greg Crisp is the anchor of the #1 run defence in the league with Tennessee and snagged 8 interceptions as well.

Pick 10- Gamble (Bucs)

Original Selection - DT Khary Hood

Redraft - WR JC Burns (2.27)

Khary Hood is a bust. He has 7 tackles in 11 tackles. What about the TFLs and sacks you ask? Don’t ask Khary cos he has no idea, 0 of either.

Let’s help Joe Burrow out and get him the speedster JC Burns. He’s topped 1k yards and has already caught 11 TDs for the Vikings. Very much-needed for Dan as we all know he doesn’t throw to Justin Jefferson.

Pick 11- Cody(Rams)

Original Selection - Jonathan Talley (DE)

Redraft - EDGE Ernie Glass (3.14)

Talley’s gone so let’s look around for another edge player to help the Rams out. Ernie Glass has excelled as a run stuffer with 12 TFLs and a pass rusher with 6 sacks with the Green Bay Packers.

Pick 12- Kiing(Jets)

Original Selection - Edward Garrett(MLB)

Redraft - S Josh McCoy(6.21)

7 TFL, 3 sacks for Garrett. Solid, not spectacular. We filled the LB hole 3 spots earlier so let’s help out the backend with one of the biggest surprises of the season. Josh McCoy jumps all the way from the 6th round. Dropped due to poor athletic measurables he exploded week 1 for 3 interceptions. He’s only added to that and currently is joint top among rookies with 8 interceptions. He didn’t have a first round pick but Alex did an excellent job drafting.

Pick 13- Kook(Jags)

Original Selection - Connor Fowler (RT)

Redraft -  CB Braylon Hampton (1.2)

I cannot support any OLine selection. Fun fact: Connor Fowler has allowed 8 sacks in 458 snaps, this is the worst sack allowed to snap ratio for any OL above 100 snaps. Do I trust Madden to accurately keep this stat? No but I will continue to use it in my anti-Oline agenda. Let’s give him a top CB prospect instead.

Pick 14- Tim(Packers)

Original Selection - Garrett Thurman (WR)

Redraft -  WR Garrett Thurman(1.14)

No reason to change the pick here. Garrett has been outshone by Glen Allen early but has still put up 700 and 5 TDs. A nice big body target for Aaron Rodgers

Pick 15- Morty(Panthers)

Original Selection - Victor Jenkins (QB)

Redraft -  QB Shane Shelton (1.27)

Unlike CMass, Morty can’t wait on a QB and has to take one here. The QB class has been interesting to follow with a lot of mediocre performances early from Don Washington, Victor Jenkins, Brett Boyd and Marc Newell. Shane has risen above early and thrown for over 40 TDs. He also leads all rookies with most suspended games so hopefully Morty’s calming presence can bring him under control.

Pick 16- Nick (Eagles)

Original Selection - Bruce Glenn (CB)

Redraft -  WR Alani Dorsey (1.26)

Same team, different player. Dorsey has established himself as a solid WR1 with 11 TDs through up and down QB play.

Pick 17- Caiden (Cards)

Original Selection - Kerry Chamberlain (LG)

Redraft -  LG Kerry Chamberlain (1.17)

Another Offensive Lineman. Kerry is a solid and dependable player with 0 sacks allowed. I just wish we could say the same for his user.

Pick 18- Kiing (Jets)

Original Selection - Justin Callahan (TE)

Redraft -  TE Justin Callahan (1.18)

If it wasn’t for positional value, I think Justin gets moved higher. Over 1k yards and 9 TDs and it looks like the rookie is heading for a pro bowl appearance in his first season.

Pick 19- Cloud (Titans)

Original Selection - Roman Riddick (WR)

Redraft -  WR Roman Riddick (1.19)

A little run here for people keeping their own players. Riddick has settled into a solid third option for Cloud. Over 700 yards and 7 TDs.

Pick 20- Steel (Steelers)

Original Selection - Tony Carr (WR)

Redraft -  FS Alex McAllister (1.25)

Hands down the worst pick we’ve seen so far. Tony Carr has 200 yards as the WR4 on a team that only passes to the RB anyway. Let’s double down at safety and take 6’4 McAllister. 47 tackles and 6 picks on the year.

Pick 21- Steel (Steelers)

Original Selection - Matt Hall (S)

Redraft -  CB Bruce Glenn (1.16)

Steel nailed this second pick thankfully but that also means Matt Hall is already gone. We’re gonna stick to DBs and take the last of the big 4 CBs to round out that backend with or without a Minkah trade.

Pick 22- Cody (Rams)

Original Selection - Juan White (EDGE)

Redraft -  EDGE Dwight Caver (1.32)

Juan has been disappointing, with only 1 recorded sack. Dwight has been exciting: 8 sacks, 10 TFLs and a pick! Swap em over and let’s get to work Cody.

Pick 23- CMass (Ravens)

Original Selection - Rashad Gentry (RB)

Redraft -  QB Don Washington (1.4)

Rashad was such a good pick that the first thing CMass did post draft was immediately trade for Derrick Henry. It makes you wonder if there even was a plan in place post Lamar trade. Anyway he gets his earlier selection in as Don Washington comes off the board QB2 now at pick 23. 3k yards, 23 TDs, 23 INTs, less than 100 rushing yards. It’s not quite Lamar Jackson.

Pick 24- Cam (Bills)

Original Selection - Rashaud Ferguson (MLB)

Redraft -  WR Otis Knowles (3.15)

Same team, different player. Otis Knowles was selected in the third round by Cam and has been a good WR3 and stepped up to WR2 at times. 700 yards and 8 TDs for the rookie.

Pick 25- Bos(Lions)

Original Selection - Alex McAllister (S)

Redraft -  S Kameron Moreland (2.2)

Steel stole my safety so I’ll steal Little Alex’s. Kameron Moreland has been a contributing piece of the best team in BL season 2.

Pick 26- Nick(Eagles)

Original Selection - Alani Dorsey (WR)

Redraft -  RB Kardell Ellington (4.3)

Nick already took Alani Dorsey so we look at RB and take Kardell Ellington. Kardell is on the same path as Kene Nwangwu: give him every touch until he pukes. 1350 on the ground, 470 through the air. 16 total TDs

Pick 27- Kumar(Raiders)

Original Selection - Shane Shelton (QB)

Redraft -  QB Victor Jenkins (1.15)

Kumar and Morty swap QBs here. Position of need here and has to take the best available QB.

Pick 28- Fin/Ptown (Falcons)

Original Selection - DeSean Northcutt(WR)

Redraft -  RB Michael Castle (2.6)

Draft the talent not the need was the motto here and DeSean hasn’t done much to this point. Let’s give them a running back to fill that need instead. Michael Castle is excelling early on an ascending Saints team. 1300 all purpose yards and 8TDs.

Pick 29- Bos(Lions)

Original Selection - Marc Newell(QB)

Redraft -  WR Cameron Peerman (3.25)

Stole one player from Lil Alex, why not make it two. Peerman has stepped and replaced Terry McLaurin admirably.

Pick 30- Gamble(Bucs)

Original Selection - Tracy Scott (DE)

Redraft -  DE Jeremy Rushing (1.7)

0/2 in the first round for Gamble. Probably too big a fall for Jeremy here but he’s been mightily underwhelming. At least he has more sacks than Tracy Scott

Pick 31- Cmass(Ravens)

Original Selection - Rahim Fowler (EDGE)

Redraft -  S Jaelin Bruce (5.2)

What are we doing here, Cmass ? Does he even play? 4 tackles, 1 TFL, 0.5 sacks.

Your redrafted player does play and play well! Another same team, different player as Jaelin Bruce was a 5th round selection for the Ravens and has racked up 5 interceptions.

Pick 32- Fin/Ptown(Falcons)

Original Selection - Dwight Caver(EDGE)

Redraft -  EDGE George Robbins (2.17)

Dwight is gone so let’s just replace with the best EDGE. 8 sacks and 6 TFLs from George Robbins originally drafted by the Cards.
