49ers and Saints will battle it out for the 7th time in 4 seasons. The Saints are on a winning streak having won the last 3 meetings.
On paper this looks to be a VERY close game and should come down to which ever team can capitalize on a mistake first.
NO is #2 in the power rankings and the 9ers are #3. The Saints edged out a defensive battle week 1 of the season. The Saints have the #2 offensive in the league and the #3 defense; the 49ers have the #1 defense and a power running control offense, which keeps them in every game.
Keys to the game:
-Defensive Battle: Both teams create many turnovers the on with the most takeaways will be in the best position to win
-Tight End: This was a down year for Jimmy Graham, but he had his best game versus the 49ers. Vernon Davis had another huge year and he had his worst game vs. the Saints. Whichever TE steps up in this critical game will likely lead their team to victory.
Analysis: Both teams are very close. It is really a push on who will win this game. The Saints need to play within their offense as Coach Kunkel’s history tells us that in big games he tends to take too many chances. Coach Stewart is a defensive minded ball control kind of coach, his top receiver was his TE (a stud) but then his HB was his second leading receiver. If Coach Stewart wants to pull the win out in the Superdome then he is going to have to take more chances and challenge the Saints secondary.
Who is going to win: The Saints are the defending Super Bowl champions, are at home, and have won the last two games versus the 49ers. The game will be close but the Saints will pull through.
I'll be streaming (and then archiving on youtube) all my games from this point on.
