AFC Best Rookie Drafted MBL Season 17

The MBL Draft for season 17 is over and the pre-season has begun. We will get to see if the huge run on Cornerbacks and wide receiver pays the dividends. We will get to see which Browns Quarterback wins the pre-season battle, same for the Running back competition in Tampa Bay. As the new rookies are battling for spots on the 53 man rosters. We are going to look at the best pick for each team.

Gordon Riles  #58 C

BUFFALO BILLS

Ovr: 76 Height: 6'2'' Weight: 300

Age: 22   Development: Fast

College: Auburn

Career: Rookie Drafted : 11th Pick, 1st Round

Riles is an Immediate starter at Center and looks to be the long-term captain of this rebuilt line. The Bills selected 3 offensive lineman in the first 2 rounds this year. With 89 Impact blocking and 94 Strength this guy might be the real life incarnation of the Juggernaut when he pulls for a run he might not be able to be stopped.

Hunter Harrison  #58 LOLB

MIAMI DOLPHINS

Ovr: 80 Height: 6'2'' Weight: 236

Age: 23   Development: Star XP: 1

College: Alabama

Career: Rookie Drafted : 20th Pick, 2nd Round

Harrison is an Immediate upgrade for the Dolphins pass rush, He looks to be able to play both the run and pass and should be able to immediate start opposite of Jenkins. The Dolphins continue to rebuild their defense.

Zak Shepherd  #14 QB

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Ovr: 82 Height: 6'3'' Weight: 229

Age: 21   Development: Fast XP: 139

College: BYU

Career: Rookie Drafted : 24th Pick, 2nd Round

Contract: $2.36M / 4 Years $1.00M Signing Bonus

Salary: $0.63M Years Left: 4 Cap Penalty: :$1.00M

New England had to wait till the 24th pick in the 2nd round, but the struck gold with the signal caller from  BYU. In New England tradition Shepherd will learn behind current starter Jimmy Garoppolo, but with his skills he might be able to win out the starting spot. The Patriots are looking to get back to the Superbowl and it starts with better play from their qb.

Keylo Williams  #83 WR

NEW YORK JETS

Ovr: 74 Height: 6'1'' Weight: 207

Age: 22   Development: Fast XP: 3

College: Texas

Career: Rookie Drafted : 19th Pick, 2nd Round

Weapons, Weapons, and More weapons. What do you do when you draft a rookie qb and start him right away. You bring him more x-factor wr's and that's exactly what Delvar did. Keylo will play opposite rookie sensation Kegan Craig. This is time for Harrison to show what he is made of. Look for jets to come out firing.

Gabriel Taylor  #52 ROLB

BALTIMORE RAVENS

Ovr: 80 Height: 6'0'' Weight: 236

Age: 22   Development: Avg XP: 60

College: Texas A&M

Career: Rookie Drafted : 10th Pick, 1st Round

The pass rush for the Ravens has been lacking ever since Suggs hung up the cleats. Taylor looks to bring back some of that nastiness to the rush. He will have some great vets in Upshaw and Mosley to learn from, but they expect immediate production in the tough afc north. If he produced look for a rookie of the year nod right here.

Kelo Hixon  #82 WR

CINCINNATI BENGALS

Ovr: 75 Height: 5'10'' Weight: 214

Age: 23   Development: Avg XP: 1

College: Georgia

Career: Rookie Drafted : 29th Pick, 1st Round

With an aging AJ Green the Bengals brass felt it was needed to draft some Wide Receivers, Hixon is the best of the bunch. Elite vision and burst will allow him to break some plays open, but his hands are his strongest area and he will turn into a solid number two option.

Bradley Samuels  #5 QB

CLEVELAND BROWNS

Ovr: 77 Height: 6'3'' Weight: 216

Age: 22   Development: Avg XP: 542

College: Texas

Career: Rookie Drafted : 6th Pick, 1st Round

Samuels was the first of the two first round Quarterback selected by the Cleveland Browns, a big surprise from Owner TFA who is known for his drafting skills. He had it right with his first selection as the dual-threat and accuracy of Samuels will develop into a better qb then the other first round selection. The qb battle will be intense.

Khamari Meyer  #16 WR

PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Ovr: 75 Height: 6'1'' Weight: 220

Age: 22   Development: Avg XP: 61

College: Alabama

Career: Rookie Drafted : 26th Pick, 1st Round

When your star receiving is declining good teams know its time to start developing. Meyer doesn't have the same speed as AB, but he has no fear of crossing the middle and his sure hands will be a much needed trait as he develops in the slot this season.

Lucas Barr  #54 LOLB

HOUSTON TEXANS

Ovr: 80 Height: 6'2'' Weight: 241

Age: 22   Development: Slow XP: 269

College: Alabama

Career: Rookie Drafted : 15th Pick, 2nd Round

Houston had to wait till the 2nd round this year, but they got one of their main targets in Lucas Barr. He missed out on the combine, which might have caused his slip but he falls to an up-coming team that is in the fight for the division every year. Barr will  plug in as a 4-3 outside lb and with his speed he will have no trouble covering the tight ends and half-backs in the afc south.

 Delano Lowe  #99 DT

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Ovr: 82 Height: 6'2'' Weight: 296

Age: 23   Development: Star XP: 0

College: Oklahoma

Career: Rookie Drafted : 7th Pick, 6th Round

The Colts had an excellent draft and both their first round picks could be considered thier best, but they got Delano Lowe in the 6th round, now that's value. This guy was a monster in college his first three years, but a gruesome injury to his

Kurtis Scott  #8 QB

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Ovr: 77 Height: 6'0'' Weight: 203

Age: 21   Development: Star XP: 506

College: Delaware St.

Career: Rookie Drafted : 1st Pick, 2nd Round

The Jaguars took a cornerback with the 1st pick in the draft and waited patiently to select their quarterback who replaced Connor Belton after he jetted for Free Agency. The wait paid off as they got one of the top QB's in the draft and a good candidate for rookie of the year.

Trevence Clayton  #18 WR

TENNESSEE TITANS

Ovr: 76 Height: 5'10'' Weight: 206

Age: 22   Development: Avg XP: 580

College: Alabama

Career: Rookie Drafted : 21st Pick, 1st Round

Clayton blazed through the combine, where many saw an SEC system guy, the titans knew they had something special. Clayton will play slot this season, and will work his way up the depth chart quickly. Look for the big play potential anytime he is on the field. Mariota is very happy with his new weapon

Zack Farmer  #60 LG

DENVER BRONCOS

Ovr: 75 Height: 6'2'' Weight: 310

Age: 23   Development: Fast XP: 634

College: UCLA

Career: Rookie Drafted : 31st Pick, 1st Round

Farmer was selected by the Broncos to help protect their star qb Cole parker, but a freak accident in week 2 has parker out for the season. This will allow Farmer to work on his Impact blocking and gain some awareness so next season Parker will have a nice safety blanket.

DeMarlo Gregory  #34 SS

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Ovr: 62 Height: 6'0'' Weight: 199

Age: 23   Development: Avg XP: 173

College: Connecticut

Career: Rookie Drafted : 127th Pick, 63rd Round

The Chiefs stayed out of this year's draft, they didn't produce a single star pick, but got some solid depth guys. Gregory will be on the hands team and might see some depth play at safety this season

Rijo Kilgore  #29 CB

OAKLAND RAIDERS

Ovr: 81 Height: 6'0'' Weight: 184

Age: 21   Development: Star XP: 187

College: Wisconsin

Career: Rookie Drafted : 4th Pick, 1st Round

Many wouldn't find it a surprise that the 4th pick is the raiders best, but to put it in perspective three other cornerbacks went before Kilgore. However the Wisconsin product is the best corner in the draft and now has a little chip on his shoulder after being skipped three times.

Victor Knight  #58 ROLB

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS

Ovr: 80 Height: 6'2'' Weight: 234

Age: 22   Development: Avg XP: 114

College: UCLA

Career: Rookie Drafted : 17th Pick, 1st Round

Pass-rush was what DK was looking for in the draft and he got it with Victor Knight, after having a down season last year the chargers felt they needed to improve on the defensive side. to many games they couldn't hold leads or QB Spriggs was trying too hard to do all the work. Look for Knight to bring a edge rush, while newly acquired Eric Kendrick's locks down the middle of the field.

MBL Madden 17 Mock Team Selection

Well It's officially the Saddest time in the sports year. The NFL Draft has commenced and thier will be no real sports being played after June 15. To help us get through the dead zone known as Baseball/Golf/Nascar season. We have two events this summer one is the Olympics in Rio and the other is Madden 17 Rating Reveal.

As MBL continues to go strong in the Madden 16 verision, all the owners will be doing thier mathemtical equations on best available teams. We will factor in age of player, amount of superstars, rookie god rating scale, etc to choose the best team or some will be HOMERS and stick with teams such as the commissioners dedication to the LIONS. Who wants to put odds on how many times he says KILLEBREW in chat next seasoin. Here is my Mock draft of the team selection list done with zero research.

Defensive Rookie Alert

Tackles

Kendle Jones

1.  Kendle Jones, ind

2.  John Clay, phi

14

3.  Lequinton Paul, cle

13

4.  Kashawn Fitzgerald, cle

13

5.  Alex Lopez, jac

8

The Colts picked up SS Kendle Jones in the 2nd round and he is already becoming a star in the making on the defensive scheme with 15 tackles and 5 Ints in 5 games he is on track to run away with DROY if he can keep up this pace.

The eagles paid a hefty price for CB John Clay giving up future 1st rounder to jump up and snag him at number 2 overall. He hasn't lit the MBL on fire with turnovers, but he is getting plenty of tackles, and is a few games away from breaking out

Sacks

Thadeus Skinner

2.  Kashawn Fitzgerald, cle

2

3.  LaMichael French, mia

4.  Michael Snyder, hou

5.  Alex Lopez, jac

Thadeus Skinner was one of the 4 defensive ends the Bills drafted. He was a depth pick in round 4 but might turn out to be the best of the punch, he has started the season off strong totaling up 4 sacks in 5 games.

Cleveland took outside lb Kashawn Fitzgerald with thier 1st pick, the browns have been searching for a defensive and they want to pressure the qb, Fitz is hoping to be the answer to that problem.

Interceptions

Kendle Jones

1.  Kendle Jones, ind

4

2.  Will Slaughter, mia

3

3.  Adrian Grayson, gb

2

4.  Eric McNeil, bal

5.  Lequinton Paul, cle

Again Kendle Jones is leading in this category as well, but not far behind is Number one Pick for the Miami Dolphins Will Slaughter. Slaughter didn't participate in the combine and saw two cb go 1 & 2 before he fell to 7. That might be the chip that carries him to outperform both his counterparts.

Green Bay was in the process of a regime change when the old coach drafted. They didn't disappoint selecting SS Adrian Grayson. He has been a day one starter and has 8 tackles 1 FF and 2 Ints.

Bryon Harrison

2.  Joey Bell, atl

Bryan Harrison was selected with the 20th pick in the 1st round by the Jets. Owner Delvar has been searching for his QB and Harrison might be it. He is putting up decent numbers in the first 4 games, but he is 2:1 for INT to TD and only a 50 percent completion rate. It might be time for a little TFR mini-camp.

Joey Bell was a 4th round pick by the Falcons but played so well in training camp that Owner One N Only decided that the team could dump the salary of 2-time Super bowl champ Matt Ryan and start over with Bell.  Bell has played solid the first few games especially after the falcons head coach was suspended for 3 games for tampering.  Can Bell explode once the falcons coach comes back in week 5.

Jennings was another great pick up for the falcons in the 3rd rounder. He is the Thunder to Telvin Colman Lightning. Efrem is enjoying the heavy load of runs and with his fresh legs and power he is a wrecking ball

The Saints have selected an impact offensive player in the last three drafts and McCray is the newest to the bunch. McCray is a 3-down back capable of carrying the run load for the high-power saints. Look for him to part of the three headed monster of Gordon and Riley.

5.  Otha Rosemond, dal

Frankie McCown was the first round selection of the Carolina Panthers and owner wildcats, this super bowl caliber team just added another huge weapon with McCown. The speed and vision of this rookie makes him a perfect slot companion to CJ Lawson and Redzone target Benjamin.

All the Pundits had Seattle mocked to take a wr and they did not disappoint selecting Spenser Mays with the 3rd pick. Mays might be the best pick of the draft as he has immediately come in and bonded with Russell Wilson. Mays now occupies the number one spot on the depth chart and is being targeted like a future all-pro. In 3 games he has 4tds and averaging over 100 yards per outing.

AFC 1st Round Big Board

AFC Mock Big Board

Buffalo Bills

1st choice-Quarterback

runner-up- Right Tackle

Tyrod Taylor is not accurate enough to be a long-term solution and the bills ownership have to know this. How much longer is Sammy Watkins going to put up with low-grade passing. If the bills can't replace Taylor at least start improving the line past Glenn. Take a big right tackle

Miami Dolphins

1st Choice:  Cornerback

Runner-op: Middle Linebacker

The Dolphins only have one starting Corner in 3rd year Nate Boykin and while his star is shining bright he needs help. Look for them to take a corner in the first round. If there is none available they might look for a replacement for aging Mosi.

New England Patriots

1st Choice: Wide Receiver

Runner-op: Strong Safety

On a team loaded with Talent, wide receiver is a glaring need for the patriots, their best receiver is a tight end. Look for them to target one or two WR this draft to put them over the top next season.

New York Jets

1st Choice: Quarterback

Runner-op:  Wide Receiver

If a quarterback is there at pick 9, they will pull the trigger Geno Smith experiment is over, but if there isn't a viable choice they will keep loading up on Talent around the QB in anticipation for their next ringleader.

Baltimore Ravens

1st Choice: Quarterback

Runner-op: None

After releasing the 20 million dollar arm of Joe Flacco the Ravens will draft a qb

Cincinnati Bengals

1st Choice: Cornerback

Runner-op: Wide receiver

The Bengals are not happy with Dre Kirkpatrick or Dennard and are hoping a CB will fall into their lap, if not they will continue to find a wr to pair with Green.

Cleveland Browns

1st Choice: Outside Linebacker

Runner-op: Defensive Tackle

The Browns have to bolster their defense front seven, look for them to take a pass-rushing Outside line back to put pressure on opposing teams.

Pittsburgh Steelers

1st Choice: Right Outside Linebacker

Runner-op: Quarterback

The Steelers have spent most of their off-seasons revamping their secondary, but the true nature of the Steelers is to be a linebacker U. Look for them to find their next star pass-rusher. There is a slight chance they reach for a QB in fear of the impending retirement of legendary HOF Big Ben Roethlisberger

Houston

1st Choice: Left Tackle

Runner-up: None

You drafted your future star qb last season know you take a stall worth tackle to protect him. GM 101

Indianapolis Colts

1st Choice: Left defensive end

Runner-op: Right outside Linebacker

The Colts want run-stoppers, they allowed almost a 100 yard rushing every game, a premier end will help end that.

Jacksonville Jaguars

1st Choice: Quarterback

Runner-op: None

Anyone who has been following the beat writer Jack Yawnsville, you know how much he hates Duncan and Belton and if you know Jack then you know he won't awake till they get a true leader under center.

Tennessee Titans

1st Choice:  Defensive Tackle

Runner-op: Right Defensive End

The Titans only have stud playing the trenches on the defensive side, they need to add weapons around Casey.

Denver Broncos

1st Choice: wide receiver

Runner-op: None

The Broncos are adding a big pass-catching wide receiver to add to the weapons for young Cole Parker.

Kansas City Chiefs

1st Choice: Running Back

Runner-op: Quarterback

Jamaal Charles will not be on the chiefs after this season and the reason will be his replacement gets drafted this year.

Oakland Raiders

1st Choice: Middle Lineback

Runner-op:  Cornerback

The raiders are looking to improve the linebacker core and secondary, it's a crapshoot between where they will add a player, but it will be the BPA at one of those positions.

San Diego Chargers

1st Choice:  Wide receiver

Runner-op: Free Safety

The want to build around Spriggs and Allen on the offense and if they land a nice speedy WR they will help open up the offense even more.

Best Player Offense/Defense- Baltimore Ravens

Offense

Breshad Perriman WR # 18

Perriman is a rare mix of elite speed, size, and skill to be the best wr on any team. Lucky for the Ravens they drafted him as a 22 year old rookie out of  UCF. His cieling is huge and at the worst day he can give any corner the run for his money on a fly route. With Flacco still chucking the deep ball this tandem will only get stronger. His stats this seasonn is  a team leading 55 catchs for 947 yards and 6 tds. His Rac is 17.2.

Defense

CJ Mosley deserves a huge photo with flames, because this guy is straight hot fire. Taking over for Hall of Famer Ray Lewis is big footsteps but Mosley has done an excellent job. He is the core of the Ravens defense and is a tackling machine. He leads the MBL in Tackles at 59 and also has 5 Ints.

He is Literally a Machine.

Offense

Nic Leonard  #1 QB

Just one year pro, Nic leonard the 5th overall pick is a star in the making, he has all the components to be the best qb out of the 2017 draft. the offense is certainly stuggling ranked 32 in points per game. If the new coach Osu can maximize Leonard he is due for big things next season.

He has exception throwing ability

TJ Wheeler is the QB you design in a Lab to play pro football.

Stats are near perfect

His Career Stats havn't quite met his potential, but this season he has Improved his passer rating from 62.6 to 92.3. He is on target for his first 3,000 yard season. He has players in every skill position on offense.  He will be coming up on a contract year next season, so I think Wheeler is going to start showing why was expected to be the next Payton Manning.

Defense

Deone Bucannon

Bucannon has built himself into one of the best hybrid safties in the league, with his size and speed he can play both the pass and the run

Ranking the new crop of Qb Talent in MBL

As MBL progresses towards the end of the 15th season. We are seeing alot of new talent at the most important position: The QB. Most teams that had elite qbs have seen father time play a part in the passing of the torch. Last season we had a mass exodus of talent: Phillip rivers, tony romo, tom brady, and eli manning all hung up thier cleats. Along with teams that were searching for the next matthew stafford or andrew luck, We have 8 teams with qbs with that have played 1 year or less. So lets rank them, we will take into factor the teams overall record along with individual stats.

1. Brandon "I'm not Vick"  Patrick  #2 QB

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Ovr: 87 Height: 6'0'' Weight: 213

Age: 24

College: LSU

Drafted : 8th Pick, 2nd Round

After claiming the NFC East div title his rookie season Brandon Patrick is leading the eagles into the playoff hunt. He still needs to work on his TD/INT ratio but he is a proven winner.

Passing Stats
Year Team Cmp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Sack Int Rate
2016 Philadelphia Eagles 105 185 57 1799 9.7 10 0 17 68.3
2017 Philadelphia Eagles 151 273 55 2116 7.8 5 0 15 64.2

2. Gavin "The Menace Dennis  #15 QB

WASHINGTON REDSKINS

Ovr: 83 Height: 6'3'' Weight: 221

Age: 21

College: Michigan St.

Career: Rookie Drafted : 8th Pick, 1st Round

Having a steller rookie year Dennis is in contintion for NFC rookie of the year. He is the bonfide leader of the redskins who have turned around a 4-12 team and are looking to make a push into the playoffs.

Passing Stats
Year Team Cmp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Sack Int Rate
2017 Washington Redskins 175 276 63 2709 9.8 19 0 10 104.1

3. Nic "Brees Killer" Leonard  #1 QB

Ovr: 84 Height: 6'4'' Weight: 226

Age: 22

College: Oklahoma

Drafted : 5th Pick, 1st Round

Nic Leonard was drafted highly by the 49rs but was expected to take a backseat to the HOF dree brees and learn the

system. However after a few bad games, the ball was givin to Leonard and he hasn't dissapointed he has the team

fighting for the NFC West crown

Year Team Cmp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Sack Int Rate
2017 San Francisco 49ers 101 183 55 1385 7.6 13 0 10 80.0

4. Anthony " Riverdance " Spriggs  #15 QB

Ovr: 82 Height: 6'1'' Weight: 211

Age: 21

College: LSU

Career: Rookie

Coming into the replace a fan favortie like phillip rivers, Spriggs has put up steller numbers his rookie season. The chargers are still filling some holes in the team but the qb is not one of them. He is clearly number 1 on the depth charts and should be able to start turning the ship in the coming years. He leads all qbs on this list in passing yardage this season. He just needs to get his INTs down as he is forcing to many throws. With Melvin, Allen, and Green he should have the weapons for years to come as well

Passing Stats
Year Team Cmp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Sack Int Rate
2017 San Diego Chargers 162 271 60 2714 10.0 16 0 18 86.1

5 . Aurel "I'm nout an Author" Powe  #15 QB

Ovr: 77 Height: 6'2'' Weight: 230

Age: 23

College: Texas

 Drafted : 18th Pick, 2nd Round

Powe landed on a team that doesnt need a superstar in their qb, they do need a game manager that can stay healthy. With a star rb in gurley and a top 10 defense, when powe is able to connect to his young wr tandom the rams excel. However he has missed to much time in his young carreer and ownership is worried about his long term health.

Passing Stats
Year Team Cmp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Sack Int Rate
2016 St. Louis Rams 176 270 65 2530 9.4 18 0 10 103.4
2017 St. Louis Rams 50 77 65 714 9.3 4 0 5 84.4

6. T.J. " Fast and Furious" Wheeler  #16 QB

Ovr: 90 Height: 6'3'' Weight: 223

Age: 22

College: Pittsburgh

Career: 1 Year(s) Drafted : 6th Pick, 2nd Round

Wheeler is the most gifted arm of all the qbs on this list, but with his very low wonderlic score of 4, he has trouble reading defenses. His first season he threw 7 td to 25 ints. He was injured and missed a good portion of his rookie year. Now in his sophmore season he had a great rookie rb helping him out but he still has more INTS then tds. Hopefully the coachs can work on him as his natrual talent only can get him so far

2016 Arizona Cardinals 130 251 52 1802 7.2 7 0 25 45.6
2017 Arizona Cardinals 131 209 63 1526 7.3 10 0 16 69.3

7. Nick " Two First Names" Jeffery  #10 QB

Ovr: 81 Height: 6'2'' Weight: 229

Age: 23

College: USC

Career: Rookie Drafted : 15th Pick, 1st Round

Heading to the Dallas to replace tony romo is a tough bet. Expectations are huge, Dez bryant is crazy, and the owner

expects Immdiate results. However things havnt gone as planned. Jeffery is missing alot of open throws and the timing

routes are off wiith his reciever. A good offseason of practice will serve the team well as they are fighting for the

number 1 pick in this years draft. His turnovers are to high and his completion rate of 47.8 is one of the lowest in the

league

Passing Stats
Year Team Cmp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Sack Int Rate
2017 Dallas Cowboys 131 271 48 1982 7.3 10 0 25 47.8

Conner Belton  #3 QB

Ovr: 84 Height: 6'2'' Weight: 222

Age: 23

College: Arkansas

Career: 1 Year(s) Drafted : 26th Pick, 2nd Round

Belton shares snaps with Blake Bortles, which hinders is progression. He needs to break away from Bortles and take control of the team. He needs more offensive TDs as 11 total in two seasons is not nfl caliber. Lets see if he can get some weapons in the offseason

2016 Jacksonville Jaguars 57 122 47 1202 9.9 7 0 13 62.5
