Game of the Week Recap: Chiefs @ 49ers

The Game of the Week for Week 5 was the Kansas City Chiefs heading out west to meet up with the 4-0 San Francisco 49ers. This game will be remember as the shootout at Levi's Stadium, with both teams putting up college like numbers with the final score of 53-40. Colin Kaepernick was impressive but not as sharp as he was in previous weeks, throwing 3 INTs, with 3 TDs on 13/26 passing for 387 yards, and added in 94 yards on the ground with 1 TD. Frank Gore added to the SF attack with 104 yards on only 15 carries with 1 TD. Michael Crabtree had a spectacular day for the 49ers catching 5 passes for an outstanding 231 yards and 2 TDs. The Kansas City offense was firing at all cylinders as well after falling behind 21-0 in the 1st Alex Smith began to find his rythmn. Smith finished the day going 18/32 with 3 TDs and 2 INTs with 352 yards. Jamaal Charles added in 83 yards on the ground on only 12 carries with 1 TD, and also caught 7 passes for 141 yards to bring his total to 224 All-Purpose yards on the day.

This game was an exciting one for most fantasy football fans, and this could possibly lead to a Super Bowl rematch in February.

Player(s) of the Game: Michael Crabtree (5 Recs, 231 yards, 2 TDs) and Jamaal Charles (224 All-Purpose Yards with 1 TD)

Duds of the Game: Both defenses and D Coordinators

Top 5 Teams Through Week 5

So we are 5 weeks into the season and each conference is starting to take form and the contenders are showing themselves, and the pretenders are there as well. So we are starting Top 5 teams based off of my opinion with records and stats coming into play as well.

#1: San Francisco 49ers - With a 5-0 record and a very impressive start to the season its nearly impossible to not name this team #1, with an unproven coach at the helm hes found a way each week to get wins and surely score points.

#2: Carolina Panthers- This has been the most quiet undefeated team, he doesn't talk much in the chat but when it comes game time the Panthers turn it on and secure the wins.

#3: Philadelphia Eagles- The Eagles come in at 3rd on the list, there only faulter was to the #1 team on the list and it was only by 3 points. They score plenty of points and get the job done on the defensive end at times too.

#4: Detroit Lions- Another quiet 4-1 team that just seems to win every single week are the Lions, with Matthew Stafford and Megatron in mid season form already this team could be a potential Super Bowl Contender

#5: Atlanta Falcons- Atlanta comes in at 5th on the list to round out the Top 5, they are sitting at 3-1 so far with week 5 to be played still, but they have won some impressive games and got the job done time in and time out.

Game of the Week Recap: Chiefs @ Broncos

The 1-0 Denver Broncos welcomed in the 1-0 Kansas City Chiefs to town this Sunday and it was a day to forget for the entire Bronco Organization. Peyton Manning may have had his worst game of his career throwing a total of 5 INTs to the Chiefs defense, including 3 by Eric Berry. Manning finished the day going 10/25 with 268 Yds and 2 TDs to pile on top of the 5 INTs. The Chiefs had a very balanced attack all day, with Alex Smith going 22/36 with 2 TDs and 1 INT, along with Jamaal Charles having 95 Yds on 25 carries. The Chiefs defense was out in full force causing 5 turnovers and getting plenty of pressure on Peyton Manning and the Broncos rushing attack.

These two teams are both considering the top tier in the AFC and will continue to battle it out for playoff positioning in a stacked AFC.

Player of the Game: Eric Berry, 3 INTs, 3 tackles

Dud of the game: Peyton Manning, 10/25, 268 Yds, 2 TDs, 5 INTs

Game of the Week Preview: Chiefs @ Broncos

Week 2 is finally here and so is our 2nd Game of the Week Preview, this week features two 1-0 AFC teams from the AFC west with the Chiefs heading to the Mile High city to visit the Broncos. The Broncos overcame quite a few mistakes during their Week 1 win vs the Colts, as Peyton manning threw 1 INT, and the offense also fumbled the ball twice. The Chiefs took on the Titans, even though the game wasn't exactly a thrilling show for the fans the Chiefs found a way to win the game none the less. Both coaches have been quite talkative during the build up to this game both stating that they are gonna to show the other one whos truly in control of the AFC West.

Will the Chiefs D be able to slow down Peyton Manning and the Broncos Offense? Or will Denver have trouble getting their hands on Speedy Jamaal Charles? We will find out this week.

Game of the Week Recap: Saints @ Falcons

New Orleans came out in full force for their Week1  matchup with divisonal rival Atlanta, forcing 7 turnovers in route to a 45-14 victory. Atlanta couldn't get much going from the start with Matt Ryan only throwing for 78 yards with 6 INTs. Drew Brees didn't technically have a flawless day either throwing 2 INTS but also putting up 5 TDS and 278 yards while going 18/23. Rookie Brandin Cooks made his presence felt catching 7 passes for a total of 123 yards and 2 TDs. Nobody thought that this would be much of a defensive game on either side, but the Saints defensive surely came to prove the critics wrong and completely shut down the Falcons offense. Atlanta will hope to figure things out in time for Week 2 so they can get into the win column and erase this terrible memory of Week 1. While New Orleans will look to build on a strong Week 1 and hopefully keep their defense on top of their game for the rest of the season.

Player of the Game: Brandin Cooks, 7 Rec, 123 Yds, 2 TDS

Dud of the game: Matt Ryan, 7/19, 78 Yds, 0 TDs, 6 INTS

Game of the Week: Saints @ Falcons

The Game of the Week for Week 1 features two familiar foes in the NFC South Divison, the high powered offense of the Saints meeting up with another high powered offense in Atlanta. Atlanta struggled last season with many injuries to their core offensive players such as Roddy White, and Julio Jones which truly decimated their opportunity of making a push in the NFC. Drafting Jake Matthews at #6 should give Matty Ice the protection he needs and with the weapons coming back healthy they should be a force in the NFC once again. The New Orleans saints have their own offense lead by one of the best QBs in todays league Drew Brees, his ability to spread the ball around to all of his weapons truly keeps this offense unpredictable. Losing Darren Sproles to Phialdelphia in the offseason could possibly slow this offensive juggernaut down, but we will have to wait and see.

Which offense will light up the scoreboard this week? Matty Ice and the Falcons?  Drew Brees and the Saints? Or will one of the defensives show up and steal the show?
