This is only a mock with team selection being 3-4 months away. Owners still might quit or get booted so some owners can eventually move up. Again this mock is based on the owners top 5 teams and teams left that weren't quite picked in the top 5...

Fun Facts:

Jaguars lead in team top 5 with 15 owners having them in their top 5 followed by

Browns with 11

Texans with 9

Rams with 8

Eagles with 8

Titans with 8

49ers lead in team top 5 with 1 owner having them in their top 5 followed by

Falcons with 2

Seahawks with 2

Broncos with 2

Panthers with 2

Bengals with 2

Giants with 2

Surprisingly the two teams that met in the Super Bowl (Broncos v Panthers) only had two owners have them in their top 5 and the Seahawks only had two owners put them in their top 5 while the Browns with all of their roster issue had 11 owners with them in their top 5.

Rising Stars Vol. 2

Rising Stars Vol. 2

This week I’ve picked 4 rookies on defense who have shown that they are ready for the big leagues.

Mason Guy Falcons- this guy was a steal with the 4th pick in the 2nd rd. He has been a ball hawk on the field with 5ints, which makes him tied for 3rd in the MBL. He will be the future in the middle for years to come.

Garry Goodwin Chargers- I'm biased towards this player (he's on my team), but his presence has been made. Not only is he tied for 3rd in the MBL in ints like Mason Guy, but he also has returned two for tds. He's the perfect guy to tandem with Verrett.

Tramon Greco/Percy Bass Bears- the Bears did right by themselves by drafting two players who could help their team immediately on defense. Both Greco and Bass are in the top 20 in tackles in the MBL as rookies. Another solid draft and free agency might put this team over .500 next season.

Rising Stars Vol. 1

Rising Stars Vol. 1

Rising stars will be a weekly/bi-weekly blog focusing on the young and up and coming players in the Mbl who we know and who we don't know much about. This week’s focus is more about three of the top rookies on offense.

Cole Parker Broncos- there were 2 other Qbs drafted (1st/2nd overall) before Parker, but Parker is the Qb that has a winning record and his team at 6-2 and in the playoff hunt. Parker is the only drafted Qb with more tds than ints and he has a completion percentage of 71% and a rating of 108.4.

Cornel Dunbar Browns- has hit the ground running with his 681 yds receiving which is 3rd in the Mbl. What's interesting is that the Browns Qb play hasn’t been very good. That just goes to show the high level in which Dunbar is playing. With Josh Gordon on the opposite side, the Browns receiving core looks promising for the future.

Ladarris Corbett Vikings- he has came out the blocks running quickly rushing for 347 yds in his 1st 3 games. He's slowed down a bit, but he still is 5th in the Mbl with 549 yds. It's looking like the Vikings are doing just fine moving on from Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson.

MBL Inside The Huddle #1 Season 14 Super Bowl Winner Exclusive With Steelers Lipp

After an exciting Super Bowl, with ups and downs, back and forths, success and heartbreak, I was able to sit down with the new Season 14 SB champion Owner Lipp to talk about his emotions during and after the game.

Me: First of all I'd like to say congratulations on winning your first Super Bowl in MBL on your first try. How does it feel to be the new champion?

Lipp: Thank you DK, and thank you for this interview. It feels different than I had imagined it would. It feels like such an accomplishment just because of the time I had to put in to be able to get here. The preparation for the draft, the free agent signing, learning more and more as each season went by. It's a lot of fun but it's also very pleasing to see all that work come together and I'm really thankful for those who helped me along the way.

Me: You got off to a good start on your 1st drive. You had success running the ball and decided to get away from it and pass. After driving the ball down the field to the redzone, you threw a pick 6. At that moment how did you feel and why did you get away from the run game when it was successful?

Lipp: At that exact moment I really thought about two things. One, at first I said this is where it all starts falling apart. 14-2, conference champion, and we fall apart now. And as it took what felt like forever for him to return that pick, I had time to think a different way. I realized we had made it here and that we couldn't let that one mistake get in our head. We tried on some positive thinking and forgot about it as best we could. We got away from the run game because it felt uncomfortable. We had such a strong passing game all year that I think the length of that drive made us anxious and we wanted to go back to what we felt was our strength all season.

Me: After going down 7-0 you managed to keep your composure and drive the ball down the field to tie the game 7-7. Then you returned the favor back to Bomber with your own pick 6 to take the lead. What were your thoughts after digging yourself out an early hole with that careless pick 6?

Lipp: We got some nice runs and nice passes to set us up there for our first touchdown. I think that one settled us down from everything that we had messed up on to that point. We felt like it was a fresh game and we needed to get our heads on straight and go back at it. The next defensive drive, Sellers played off and was able to use his incredible speed to come up and pick it. Our corners are what we've worked on since the end of last season and it was exciting to see him step up and be the guy we knew he was when we took him two drafts ago.

Me: With a 1:29 left in the 1st half, you went up 21-14. Right when we all are thinking it couldn't get any better for your steelers, you managed to get another pick 6 and a sack fumble that you turned into another 7 points to take a 35-14 lead at halftime. You had to of been very confident in yourself and your team at that moment. Where you at all worried about a 2nd half comeback by Bomber and the Lions?

Lipp: Well we were not very confident going in at the half to be honest. We knew that we had struggled to do things on offense, and you can't ignore the high powered Lions. We felt like we had the defense to make it tough but we knew with such a great team that we would have to be perfect. Well, we weren't perfect and they began their comeback. We just had to keep it together for that half as best we could.

Me: A few key things I noticed in the 1st half was that you ran a lot of quarters and it worked out in your favor. What was the gameplay going into this SB and why do you think Bomber didn't attack your defense with a rushing attack with you only having 3 down lineman?

Lipp: Well we knew that the Lions were such a great pass offense. We also knew that we had a good run defense and we felt that if we kept an extra guy out there to try to prevent the pass, we could try to convince them to run the ball into our rush defense. We felt that if they had to run the ball then they would have to slow down their offense, who scored anytime they wanted to all season.

Me: With less than a minute gone in the 3rd qtr your defense forced another turnover. In my opinion your defense was very opportunistic in the biggest game of the season. How did the changes that you made the last few off seasons play an intricate role in this game and this season?

Lipp: I think the changes we made on defense was the one and only reason we had such a great season. Our offense has stayed the same throughout, they just played better this year. We gave Ryan Shazier the defense and told him to lead them in the right direction. As he developed he turned into a great leader, especially with 3 young corners on that side of the ball. We honestly felt this season would be a down year with so many young guys starting but around week 12, they turned it on and we were able to play much better defense than we ever have in the past.

Me: I personally loved your aggressive nature in the 2nd half when you were still airing it out, but an interception by Weddle did cost you late in the 3rd qtr with 1:43 secs left. Do you regret not being a little more conservative and running your stud back Bell to kill some of the clock?

Lipp: I think on offense we were just trying too hard to get into field goal position. We also made some mistakes, especially on that play, on what formation and who was there. Ben didn't make a good read and let Weddle fool him into a turn over. We felt like if we could get on the other side of the field with the pass game we used all season, then we could run more and it wouldn't be as bad if we didn't pick up a first down. A lot of things happened out of no where in that game that really shifted at a lot of different times.

Me: Another turning point in the game right after you turned the ball over, you knocked out "MVP" Stafford for a couple of plays and the backup had to come in. On a screen play your defense forced another turnover with the Lions in scoring position. How was your defense able to contain this high powered offense by causing turnover after turnover?

Lipp: I think that we were just in the right position at the right time. We brought in a guy with Super Bowl experience and he was just there at that time. We just had a completely different defense than ever before this season, and guys stepped up and made big plays. We added a lot of young talent but also some veterans to help lead the team, and he was one of those guys.

Me: With 3:21 secs in the 4th, the Lions were driving down by 14. Your defense was intercepting everything that their hands touch until the football Gods blessed Megatron with a touchdown off of your defenders hands. What was going through your mind as you saw a 21 point lead diminish to only 7 points with the Lions still having 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning?

Lipp: Well we expected them to score because of how good they were. The fact that Calvin Johnson made such an incredible catch is no surprise to us. He's a player that can do amazing things, and he hurt us bad in that game twice. He just has the greatness to not only catch the ball off of deflections, but also recognize that his QB is going to him in the most important moment and he has to make that play. That's why he is Megatron, one of the best to ever do it.

Me: After making a huge play on 3rd and 4 for a 1st down, the clock was running with 2:30 secs left in the 4th. Please tell me what in the hell were you thinking when you ran another play before the two minute warning? Your nerves must have been at an all time high.

Lipp: Thats exactly it DK. This whole game we were a mess and made so many mistakes. This was obviously the biggest game ever for me, and we just went out and played sloppy football. When I say we made a ton of mistakes, I mean we made a huge amount of stupid mental errors that I can't even explain.

Me: The lions get the ball back and drive it down the field to the 34 yard line with 6 secs left in the game. Stafford heaved a pass down the middle of the field to a "Calvin" but not Johnson, but Phelps and he catches it and falls down at the 2 yard line and you win the MBL Season 14 Super Bowl. 1st off, where were you thinking the ball was going to go? 2nd, as the ball was in the air, what where you thinking? 3rd, after you saw that Phelps came up short, what was your initial reaction?

Lipp: We felt that he was going to try to match up Calvin or Ebrons freakish ability against one of our guys that wasn't much of a star. Everyone was tired at that point so we really thought Calvin could bully someone over the top and come down with it. We were thinking that we built this defense to do exactly what it did. They have given up plays but always been able to keep the points off the board. It was time to prove it. When he caught the pass, we really thought that it was going to be a touchdown. We couldn't tell who had the ball but we knew it was a Lion, and we really thought he was going to power into the endzone. It was a bad feeling. Our guys ended up making the tackle. They let up the play but somehow kept the points off the board. I don't know how or why it went down like it did but we are just grateful to be in such a league in which not only the Super Bowls, but every game is a competitive one.

Me: Well thank you very much for sitting down with Mbl Inside The Huddle for this exclusive interview. The MBL community already knows that I picked the two SB contestants along with the winner and I must say I am very proud of that and I'm very excited for you. You definitely deserved this Super Bowl and I was 100% behind you throughout the whole playoffs. This game and season will defintely be one to remember. Would you like to add anything else before we close out this interview?

Lipp: Thank you for your time and effort that you put into this. We are thankful to be MBL champions and glad to have that off our back. I'd like to thank Bomber, Tom, Oktoba, Train, including all staff members of every extra that we have going on, for buying into MBL and creating such a unique experience for everyone. I'd also like to thank the owners of each team for buying into what we are doing and I hope they all enjoy Madden Bomber League.

That is all for now, but this is only the beginning of the emergence of MBL Inside The Huddle. Good luck to all 32 owners in MBL this offseason and just like Lipp got his 1st SB, you can can join the MBL SB club or repeat as an existing member of that exclusive fraternity. Until next time this is DK signing out.

MBL WEEKLY ROUNDUP #5 SEASON 14 REVEIW

MBL WEEKLY ROUNDUP #5 SEASON 14 REVEIW

Breakout season Owners/Players

Taut- After 13 long seasons Taut "The Killer" finally got himself into the playoffs. Even with people doubting him he still managed to get a nice win over the Bills in the wildcard game. I know there are some people hoping that those Dolphins make a solid run

Big Roethlisberger- At the bitter end of his career Big Ben defiantly made some noise this season. I personally think he got robbed in the MVP voting. He didn't lead the mbl in passing yards, but he did break the record for most passing Tds in mbl history. In season 14 Big Ben had a career high in yards, Tds, completion percentage, QB rating, and ints (only having 11). Along with those numbers he lead his team to a 14-2 record and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Disappointing season owners/players

Backley- After going 14-2 last season, backley fell short of his expectations in season 14 with a sub-par 8-8 record. The biggest issue for the Broncos was the play of the bipolar Mike Glennon. He threw 33 ints this season and I think that is what did them in. On a brighter note he did get out of his cold streak and played pretty descent towards of the end of the season.

AJ green- After helping propel his team to a playoff appearance last season the Bengals missed their opportunity to get back in. I believe a big reason why is due to the lack of productivity of AJ Green. Although he had an above average season, 7 of his games this season he had less than 50 yards receiving and 3 of the last 4 games he didn't have more than 25 yards. As an elite wr, this is unacceptable.

Team on the rise

Redskins- With new ownership, the Redskins have nowhere to go but up. All of his 7 losses were losses of 7 points or less. A couple division losses to the Giants and Cowboys at the end of the season destroyed his playoffs hopes. I feel Doughboy0515 is one of mbls new owners that's on the rise.

Team on the decline

Broncos- I looked and looked and looked and I came to the conclusion that the Broncos would be placed in this category. Backley is an amazing owner with tons of experience and a SB in season 10. I feel like Backley can take a step forward next season but the issues at hand might be too much. Not only has the division gotten tougher, but also I see Glennon being the starter next season and that can't be a good thing.

Rip veezy

Goodbye to one of the few beginning mbl owners. Veezy was a very much-liked owner in mbl and will defiantly be missed.

With the playoffs on the way, a lot of owners are looking forward to the offseason and season 15. First the playoffs will get played and we will crown another MBL SB Champ. Once again I like to thank everyone of the 32 owners for doing what they do and always remember that one man isn't bigger than the LEAGUE. Also a special shoutout goes to my new affiliate Tom&Project and The Extra Point Podcast.

MBL Weekly Roundup #4: THE MERGER

MBL WEEKLY ROUNDUP PRESENTS

THE MERGER:

On June 17th 2015, Madden Bomber League and The MaddenU merged together to become one. To give a little background, MBL is a madden connected franchise league that promotes realistic gameplay, with strict trade regulations and rules. MBL does its best to give the closest feel to the NFL on and off the field with 32 owners building franchises through the Draft, Free Agency, and Player Development. The MaddenU is a site that provides content for all things madden like hints, tips, ebooks, giveaways, tournaments and articles. After extensive talks with both parties on why this merger took place and what would this merger do for both parties, both bomber and one of the co-founders of MaddenU had plenty to say.

Bomber founder of MBL said, the merger with MaddenU would get MBL put on the MaddenU app and gain a lot of exposure being its only exclusive CFM league. MBL can also give MaddenU some exposure by retweeting all things MaddenU, downloading the app and rating it, and advertise MaddenU as a sponsor for the league blogs and the podcast. With MBL being the one and only exclusive CFM league of MaddenU, it will promote the realism of the actual NFL concepts MaddenU promotes with their content and MBL is the community that implements the content that they produce. Lastly Bomber said, "We are coming together to strengthen the madden community of dedicated gamers who thrive on realistic sports gaming."

One of the co-founders of MaddenU said MBL will be the first madden site with a legit CFM league that's ran extremely well and offers a lot of content. What other leagues offer things like two weekly podcast and MBL specials (30for30) to daily news and updates and consistent activity with team and league tweets via Twitter? To have a league like MBL sets MaddenU apart from all the other sites just looking to make money. To get the backing from a legit sim league shows our followers that we aren't in the business of just making glitchy plays or money. It shows our ebooks have legit content that will help their game improve the right way.

This merger is just the beginning of an epic journey with so much in store for the future. Who knows what the future may hold. But if I had to bet my Madden 16 copy on it being amazing, I'd bet that and my Xbox one.

MBL Weekly Roundup #3

Weekly Roundup Season 10 Week 1- Week 3

Surprise No Surprise
  • After facing each other in the Super Bowl in Season 8, both the Packers and Chiefs missed the playoffs the next season. Last season (Season 9), The Packers were changing the offense and tailoring it around Cam Newton and finished 8-8. The Chiefs were involved with tons of off and on the field issues with PEDs, hookers, and drugs and finished 6-10. Looking back to season 8, these teams were the cream of the crop with the Chiefs having a 13-3 and the Packers being 14-2. Now that it's season 10 and both of these power house teams are moving forward and both are 3-0 to start the season.

Final Playoff Stretch (AFC)

Final Playoff Stretch (AFC)

Before I go into breaking down the conference by division, I must say there's a lot of hope for teams to still make it. Unlike the NFC, the AFC is full of endless possibilities. Other than the 9-2 broncos and Chiefs the next best record in the conference is 7-4. Also there are four 6-6 teams battling for a playoff spot.

AFC EAST
The Pats lead the division with a 7-5 record and 5-0 division record. Basically as long as the Pats just have a tied record at the end of the year, they will win the division. The Jets are only one game behind that Pats and have a big game against them next week (wk14). Waiting in the wings are the Dolphins who are two games behind the Pats with a 5-7 record. Anything can happen with four games left in #MBLSeason8.

AFC NORTH
Just like the East, the North is in the same type of situation. The Bengals are 7-4 and 3-1 in the division and the Browns are right behind them with a 6-5 record and also 3-1 in the division. This week 13 matchup is the biggest game of the division. The Bengals can basically lock up the division with a win and the Browns can change the AFC North landscape with a win and stay in the playoff hunt. The Browns can't afford to lose with them being 6-5 and having the 6th and final seed in playoffs with three 6-6 teams lurking for that final spot. Steelers still have a punchers chance with a 4-6-1 record, but it isn't looking good.

AFC South
This division is full of surprises. I never thought I could say a 4-8 team had a shot at making the playoffs and winning the division!?!?! But in this whacky division, all of that and more is possible. So where do I start? Well the Titans(3-2 div), Colts(2-1 div), and Jags(3-2) all have a 6-6 record. The Texans are in last, but only two games behind the leader. I have been impressed the most by the Titans. They have been on a role going 6-1 in the last 7 games and also coming off a big win against rival Colts. The Colts will get their revenge by playing the Titans again week 17. The Jags hold there own playoff hopes in their own hands by playing Colts, Pats, then colts again. But then again so do the Colts. There final four games are against teams that are all battling for a playoff spot (Jags x2, jets, and Titans). I don't know how this division is going to end up, but it's exciting to watch!

AFC WEST
What this division lacks in playoff positioning excitement, the two leading teams excel at winning football games. The Broncos and Chiefs are locks for the playoffs. Both are 9-2 with 5 games remaining and and I don't see any decline. The Broncos have the better division record at 4-1 while the Chiefs stand at 2-2. Next week (wk14) these two teams will more than likely be playing for the #1 seed in the AFC! These two teams will definitely be tough outs for any AFC team bounce out. The Chargers still have a chance to squeeze in. At 6-6 they are on the outside looking in, but still in the hunt. Chargers can squeeze in with wins in their final 4 games but they have a tough road. Browns, Texans, Bengals, and Niners stand in the way of a playoff berth for the Chargers. Winning out could prove that the Chargers are worthy of that last playoff spot.

Final Playoff Stretch (NFC)

                                    Final Playoff Stretch (NFC)

NFC EAST
Eagles are in first place with a 9-3 record and one win in front of the the Giants who have a 8-3 record. The tie breaker goes to the Eagles because they are 5-0 in the division and the Giants are 2-1. The Eagles are looking good to hold on to the division and EJ Manuel looks to continue to light it up as the leagues leading passer, but don't count the Giants out holding on to the 6th seed. The Eagles and Giants will meet again in NY in week 16 and that game will probably determine who will win the East.

NFC NORTH
By far the most competitive division in the NFC. This division normally has all the teams battling for a playoff spot. They tend to beat down on each other and knocking one another out of playoff contention. The division was lead by the Packers who started the season 9-0 before losing at home to the Saints. Now the Bears have taken the lead in the division with a big win against the Niners and pushing their record to 10-2, while GB is 9-2. GB holds the tie breaker with them being 5-1 in the division and the Bears are 2-2. The Packers will win division if the Bears manage to keep pace with the Packers and tie them record wise. The Packers do have a showdown against one of the top teams in the NFL in the Niners week 14. The Lions are still in the hunt waiting to pounce on anyone who gets in their way at 6-5.

NFC South
The Saints have dominated this division. They are 5-0 within the division and have beaten two of the top teams in the NFC in Philly and GB. After losing to the Niners in week 5, the Saints have been on a tear going 6-1 in their last 7 games lead by there young QB Bo Coley. The Buccaneers are doing their best to keep up and not lose ground on the Saints. They are sitting at 6-5 and are looking for the saints to slip up.

NFC WEST
The Niners own this division. At 10-2 they are four games ahead of any other team in the division. The Niners have basically dominated everybody. They are coming off a very tough loss againt the Bears. After coming back down 23-10 and taking the lead (24-23), the Niners had the game in the bag with 30 seconds left until the Bears drove the ball down the field to kick the game winning FG. The Niners look to battle the Pack week 14. Somebody has to lose and lose ground for home field advantage for the playoffs. As the Lions and Buccs, the Hawks are still in the hunt with a 6-5 record. If any of those 3 teams want to try and slip into the playoffs, they are going to need a lot of help from other teams!

Lions, Seahawks, Buccaneers (all 6-5)

"Spring" Cleaning

                                        Saints "Spring" Cleaning
  • It's been 4 weeks into the season and the Saints have a fairly good idea of where the team stands. Owner Dee Kay bought the team after week 1 and inherited an 0-1 team with a good overall roster. The saints got off to a 2-0 start against division opponents the Falcons and Buccaneers (which was huge) and then went 0-2 against playoff caliber teams (bengals and 49ers).

  • Dee Kay has made some adjustments and will continue to do so. He says, "Practice is a competition everyday. Whomever shows me they want playing time will get it!" Great practice habits have given 8yr speedster Jeff Demps the nod at starting RB. Jeff Demps is now the 3rd leading rusher is the NFL with back to back 100 yard games in week 3-4. Due to Demps big play ability, great practice habits, and one year left on Mark Ingram's, Demps is now the premier RB and is looking to finally get over the hump and get 1000+ yards this season! Step two is seeing what young players can step up if given the opportunity.

  • Kenny Britt is an older player and is on the last yr of his contract and there is some young talent that might be able to step in. Brandon cooks is starting in the slot WR role, but wants to be an every down WR. 1st yr and 2nd yr WRs Aundre Cunningham and Poone Burnett are looking to take the next step to have a valuable role in the offense. Cunningham is a big target at 6'4 who has the size and athleticism of a Britt and Burnett is a 5'10 speed demon and with him on the field at the slot, it gives the Saints an opportunity to get more speed on the the field, but it also makes our WR core one of the smallest in the MBLeague. On a side note, Dee Kay, loves big WRs.

  • The #1 priority for this offseason is retaining Jimmy Graham. He's looking to get 8-10mil a year and the Saints don't know how they want to approach this situation by having Graham signing in the dotted line because even though he's an elite TE and defiantly top 3, he is 31 and turning 32 next season. Is he really worth the money? I don't know, but what we are hearing from the coaches is that he is working harder than ever and is in the best shape of his life. Which brings us to this. Our shutdown cb Dezrick Barnes is also a free agent at the end of the season and he's a must keep. Depending on how the season goes, he might just move up to the #1 priority.

  • Now to the most important position on the field; QB. Stills was given the nod over young 1st year, promising, mobile QB Bo Coley. Stills played well the 1st 3 games, but got injured in 2 of the 3 games. With it being the last year of his contract and due to the fact he's injury prone, and the horrific game he displayed against the 49ers, the Saints have decided to let Bo Coley take over as QB1. Both games Coley stepped in for Stills, he has risen to the occasion. He drove his team down the field and put us in a situation to win the football games. 1-1 when coming in for Stills, the Saints organization only hopes that he can keep improving! Due to this QB change, Dee Kay and the Saints have decided to devote all their money, time, game prep, and assets on the development of Bo Coley.
