Back in Season III of Pure 16 Calvin Clay was drafted by the Browns, and since, has brought a winning culture to this orginization. That includes his son, who he know coaches here in Cleveland.

The Browns and Bills squared off Monday night in a rematch of the AFC Divisional round playoffs, where the Browns have now picked up wins in both occasions.
The last time these two teams met a chance to play in the AFCCG was on the line and the Browns prevailed on the back of Austin Davis and a swarming defense. The only difference from then to now was the QB. The defense scoring two TDs on fumbles, getting six sacks, and two interceptions definitely lifted some of the weight off the shoulders of everyone on the offense.
Not that it mattered as the ground game finally picked up with Jeremy Hill and Darius Jackson both getting scores on the day and over 100 yards combined. Brock Osweiller added a pair of touchdowns as well as he went 10-15 with 260 yards.
QB Osweiller said after the game "When your defense can get you 14 points that quick it really makes things easier for you. You get a bit of a longer break and points scored so I'm not going to complain."
Osweiller hasn't had much to complain about after being brought back to his starting role after halftime of last weeks game against the Steelers. The Browns tried rookie QB Gavin Harper after Head Coach Calvin Clay was concerned with the turnovers.
"Brock has done his job the last two weeks. That's all we ask of him and he's been doing exactly that." Clay had to say after the game.
When asked about a QB controversy he quickly shot down the questions with a simple "Watch the tape. See why we made our choice." But when asked if the team is willing to draft a QB in the upcoming draft he added "It's all up in the air. Ask me in March"
The Browns play the Ravens next week where they'll try to improve to 8-5-1 and increase their lead in the AFC North as the playoffs quickly approach.

Cleveland Browns Head Coach Calvin Clay announced that rookie QB Gavin Harper will start this weekend against the Steelers.
"Brock has done a fine job for us before, but it's time that we make some changes to be successful"
Clay was the last Browns QB that brought the team actual success. Something the team has searched for since his retirement. Rodgers came close, but was traded after a poor start to the regular season last year. Brock Osweiller proved to be serviceable as we all saw season one of Madden 17, but since then has the worst TD:INT ratio in the league.
Clay continued in the presser "This team wins when we win the TO (turnover) battle. We can't have all the interceptions and win, so we're hoping that Gavin can limit those"
Harper was asked how he prepares for his first NFL start after practicing with the 1s today
"You have to take it one day at a time until Sunday. If I keep trying to think what could happen I'll be up all night."
Harper came in last game against the Buccaneers and threw an interception, something the Browns said they're trying to limit.
"Gavin will be given a simple playbook to get started, and we're hoping to add more as we go along. This whole staff, and myself, believe in him"
Clay added at the end of his conference.
The Browns are 5-5-1 and technically in first place in the AFC North.
The Steelers are 3-7-1 and are in last place, trying to fend off elimination.

For the fourth straight post-season in a row, the Browns have punched a ticket to the wildcard round.
The last three seasons though, its been nothing but close losses and heartbreak.
"We've always been right there." says Coach Estep. "But right there hasn't been good enough."
An obvious statement as the team has lost the three games by a combined 15 points.
"This season has had it's ups and downs, but theres something about this team that just has it."
Is that it Amari Cooper (who the team acquired from the Colts last offseason), or is it Todd Gurley who is having a career year?
As the Browns look to face the Colts tonight, they have to hope that the it is actually there, or they'll look to go to the offseason being THAT team.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Calvin Clay has come out today as a homosexual. The winner of Best Qb in the AFC last season has had the Browns gaining numbers in the W column since he took over for EJ Manual two seasons ago, and now he has come out of the closet.
"I've always felt this way, since I was a kid. It feels nice to finally be able to talk about who I am and be open with my teammates and coaches."
When asked about how the pressure may effect him Clay stated, "In the NFL you have pressure no matter what, so just a little bit more won't make or break me. I know my skill level, and I know that being openly gay or not doesn't change how I'll play football."
The Browns QB has them sitting at 6-6 right now, and hoping to take the AFC North crown.

We have a slight change in the offseason schedule.
The stages in the offseason were miscounted. In order to make sure the draft date stays the same, the offseason schedule will be revised and will be followed as so:
Advance to Stage-Four: SUN, 8 PM EST
Advance to Stage-Five: MON 8 PM EST
Advance to Draft: MON, 8:55 PM EST
DRAFT: Monday, 9 PM EST.
Also, as we move forward towards the next season, there are a few rules that need to be brought up to make sure everyone is on the same page moving on.
1. Being that we have new users in the league we are bringing back trade review BEFORE trades are ACCEPTED THRU CFM.You MUST send all trades through Zeus, or tell another mod so we can relay the info to him. Failure to observe this policy will result in reversal of trade and trade embargo for rest of season, as well as a possible autopilot for multiple weeks.
2. All members are required to have their team logo/name in their chat name/picture. Failure to do so may result in being place on auto pilot if you do not comply after warnings. I have made team photos for every team in the league (relocated or not), please ask if you would like one.

The Browns started the season 0-4. All looked lost as the team had traded their first for Todd Gurley, and they were dead last in the AFC North.
After losing in OT to the Condors, the team went back home to face the Colts, and thus the winning started.
Calvin Clay has come out and played like an MVP in just his first season. Devin Hester is playing like hes 25. Gurley is doing exactly what he needs to. The defense is playing the best kind of "bend don't break", and the team has won 6 in a row.
"I knew this team was able to do something like this from the start, and now we lead the division and control our own destiny." said coach Johnnie Estep after the 38-27 win over the Orbits.
"When you go on any kind of winning streak, you need to remember what got you there, and remember to not get complacent. We may have done some good things so far, but we need to stay hungry."
The team is poised to make the playoffs for the first time in Pure 16, and just the fourth time in Estep's Pure career.
They travel to Minnesota to take on the undefeated Vikings next week.
The Cleveland Browns are 0-3 again.
For the second straight season the Browns are winless though the first three weeks.
Week one, they imploded against the rival Beats, weeks two and three never really felt close.
Head coach Johnnie Estep spoke on the matter after yesterday's 42-28 loss to the Ravens.
"This team has a lot of pieces and we need to figure out how to use them all. It'll take effort, but I know we're better than our record suggests."
He also added that this week is open QB competition. Saying, "EJ simply isn't getting it done how we want. So we're letting Clay challenge him for the spot."
Calvin Clay, rookie out of UL Monroe, came in for EJ Manuel in the third quarter of the Ravens game and threw for 2 TDs in the loss.
Estep finished the presser with this, "In the next few weeks, this team is going to be something special, just wait."
The 0-3 Browns take on the 3-0 Condors in week 4.
The Divisional Round is in the books. Pure Madden is down to the final four. Who will represent their conference in the Pure Madden Championship XIV?
NFC
The Seahawks take down the Rams and the Redskins dominate the Vikings to reach the NFCCG. These teams played in a shootout last season in the divisional round, and I expect the same here. Derek Carr throws for 4 TDs, but adds on 2 INTs, one of them being in the redzone, as Cam Netwon throws a near perfect game with 300+ yards and 3 TDs. Seahawks use the running game and PA to dismantle the Wasington D and goes into the Super Bowl with a 31-28 win.
AFC
The Chargers blank the Dolphins and the Condors get revenge against Indy to make the AFCCG. Both of these teams are strong on both sides of the ball, and this one is the opposite of the NFCCG. 17-14 Condors on a last second field goal. Both teams try to use a running game to move the ball, but get stuffed often. The passing games dont open up until the second half, and the Condors find a way to clinch their way to the big game.
Knowing how this league works, I'll be completly wrong on both games.

After the events that led to Cody's dismissal from the league, we re now opening up the voting for the new Moderator to take his place.
Chance, Corbin, Victor, Goon, NOK, Maj, and Austin will be on the poll, and whoever gets the most votes, will take over as the new Moderator.

The 5-0 Broncos rolled in to Cleveland on a huge winning streak, while the Browns were struggling after losing their last three games. Denver has been able to find a way to win week after week as they keeping make the one or two key plays to get the W.
This week played out a bit differently for the horsies.
The game started with a 89 yard TD run by Tre Mason. Cleveland fans were concerned that the team would soon drop their fourth in a row. However, the Browns offense came back and did what they were supposed to do, and the team rallied for a 35-23 win.
Russell Wilson played well with 214 yards, 3 TDs, and just 1 INT. But the true offensive hero of the game was Marshawn Lynch. The team's fourth round pick has had some big games, but the team had recently strayed away from the run during their losing streak. This week the team stuck with it and Lynch picked up 164 yards on the ground.
"They finally just kept feeding me the ball. I was shocked when they called three plays in a row at some points in the game. Maybe the coaching staff finally figured it out?" Lynch stated in the post game presser. Lynch added, "I can't believe I'm talking to ya'll. I usually hate the media but I'm just too damn excited to not talk!"
Did the Browns learn something from this game to help them compete for a playoff spot? We'll find out as the season continues.
The Browns are 3-3, 2nd place in the AFC North, and traveling to St. Louis next week to take on the struggling Rams.
The Broncos are 5-1, 2nd place in the AFC West, and heading into their bye week.

Both offenses stalled in the beginning, but Baltimore pulled away in the second half to beat the Browns 34-17. Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson combined for 268 yards, 1 touchdown, and 6 ugly interceptions.
The Ravens D showed its usual strength again save for one 63 yard Marshawn Lynch run. Minus that run, the Browns were shut down all game on the ground.
Baltimore (4-1) is now on a four game winning streak as they sit in first in the AFC North. The Ravens will play host to the San Francisco 49ers next week.
Cleveland (2-3) drops their third game in a row after this tough divisional loss. The Browns will travel to Denver to play the Broncos in week 6.
The Jags beat the Colts in Indianapolis for a share of first place in the AFC South with the Houston Texans. Outside of Chance's Titans, this is the first loss by a team in the AFC South.
The Bengals get their first win of Madden 16 over the Chiefs, who have had heartbreaking losses all season. Lamar Miller had 208 rushing yards and a touchdown in the win for Cincinnati. Kansas City's Ryan Tannehill had a lofty 386 passing yards with two touchdowns but three unfortunate interceptions.
Cinci improves to 1-3, 4th in the AFC North.
KC drops to 0-4, 4th in the AFC West.
