AFC South Team Reveal

Tennessee Titans (Steel)

Steel gets his 4th choice but the Titans are going to be one of the most fun offenses in the league.

Marcus Mariota was Lamar before Lamar. He is a little older and slower but way more polished and should light it up under steel who enjoys playing with mobile QBs and doesn't scramble excessively at all.... The offensive line is stacked especially at tackle with two maulers who can contribute in both the running and passing game. Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis are complementary backs who can even be used on the field at the same time. Delanie Walker is an excellent blocker and can excel in the receiving game. And while there are no standouts at WR, Corey Davis is still young and should be easy to develop.

On defense, this secondary is nothing to sneeze at. Malcolm Butler is a highly rated FA acquisition who would let Adoree play against No. 2 WRs while he is developed. The center piece of the defense is Kevin Byard who will produce turnovers. Brian Orakpo and Jurrell Casey round out the defense.

This team is a great fit for Steel because he could user the safety or LB both of which are weak spots but then again it would be a great fit for anybody because of how versatile it is, especially on offense.

Houston Texans (Reece)

Reece gets his No. 1 choice. With this, Reece has played with 3/4 afc south teams in the last 4 maddens. I wonder what team he'll pick in M20.
The Texans are totally loaded in some positions while some other positions are totally bereft of all talent.

On offense, Deshaun Watson is your prototype mobile QB. He is young and will be fun to develop further. Fuller and Hopkins complement each other very well in terms of what they can do and in the same way Lamar Miller and D'onta Foreman work great together. However the OL is brutally bad and Reece will have to trade for a TE unless he plans on going 5 wide every snap.

On defense, this team has a top 5 DL. JJ Watt and Clowney can be moved around on the OL to play againstt the weakest OL without giving up anything in the running or passing game. Mercilus is an extremely capable edge rusher who can also drop back and cover just like Clowney. At safety, Matheiu and Andre Hal make sure you are set at that position for 5 or more seasons. While they have no standouts at LB, they have 2 or 3 decent players like Zach Cunningham and Mckinney. The real issue is at CB with Jonathon Joseph being the only viable player but his age makes him a concern as well.

This team is a great fit for Reece but he needs to learn to make better use of the scrambling ability of Deshaun and try relying on him more than he has relied on QBs in the past. On defense, he never needs to blitz again. Heck he should probably drop 8 and rush 3 every snap.

Jacksonville Jaguars(Puffy)

Puffy gets the best team in madden after he paid me right before the deadline. This was a really close call. Almost gave it to doam anyways because I was in some legal trouble.

With this team you really need to nitpick to find issues. On defense, they have the best CB duo in the game with Jalen Ramsey, capable of being left one on one even with the fast reeeivers. AJ Bouye is better than the No. 1 CB on 3/4th of the NFL teams and he plays second fiddle on this defense. At LB they have the cheesiest developed LB now that Ryan Shazier is ded. Myles Jack is another physical freak who is developed. The D-line is monstrous with big names like Calais Campbell, Malik Jackson and Marcell Dareus but also has cheesy edge rushers like Dante Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue. The only concern with this defense is the safeties who arent the lightest on their feet but the cornerbacks more than make up for that.

On offense they have arguably the best RB in madden. Corey Grant is going to light it up against any defense that doesn't maintain the edge. One missed tackle and it's game over. The 2nd string RB, Leonard Fournette is a monster as well. His truck rating should get him extra yards on almost every run. ASJ is a good madden TE who has size and decent speed. The WR corps looks bare at first glance but then you notice DJ Chark who is easily the best WR in this years draft. 6'3", elite speed and a high jump should make it trivial for him to be the leading WR. Marquise Lee is a good complementary piece along with Dede Westbrook. The OL is the only glaring issue but considering this is madden, that might not matter at all.

Indianapolis Colts(RJ)

RJ gets a team that nobody else wanted. But surprisingly when you look at the roster, the Colts have a lot of speed.

On defense, T.J Green is going to be a nightmare with a little development. The LB corp isn't very developed but there are 3 LBs who are burners as well. Jabal Sheard is an elite madden DE. Al Woods is a very capable DT. Malik Hooker is still young even if he isn't a rookie anymore. This a pretty decent defense on paper in madden.

On offense, Andrew Luck is up there with any mobile QB in the league. Only concern with him will be the potential for injury. The TEs are both fast and skilled. Eric Ebron will be just as much of a nightmare in Indy as he was in Detroit. TY Hilton will be a beast for two or three seasons at least. Jack Mewhort, Quenton Nelson and Castanzo are rreally good blockers who should help a lot with the running game too. Marlon Mack figures to be the starting RB and while unspectacular he is a decent RB you can work with till something better comes along.

Also, RJ will possibly get the top FA pick (or Halpin) so he has a chance to improve this roster where it's weak and possibly get a good non user LB or another DE.

AFC East Team Reveal

New England Patriots (Nicolas)

Nicolas gets his first choice.

The New England Patriots are one of the best teams in real life with one of the best head coaches of all time. Unfortunately all of that doesn't translate all that well to madden football.

Several key pieces on the defense are old. Devin Mccourty, Patrick Chung, Hightower and Clayborne all figure to see starting roles but they are going to slow down pretty soon. Fortunately, they do have some exciting players. The LB corp outside of Hightower is really fast. 88 spd Lbs are better in madden than 88 ovr Lbs as we all know. Derek Rivers is 85+ across the board in terms of physical attributes and he should be a starter.

On offense, we have Tom Brady who is highly rated but that doesnt actually mean much in terms of gameplay. He is old and while accurate, he is immobile and eats up a decent chunk of the cap space. Gronk is an excellent madden player but he is old and injury prone. Dorsett might have a shot at a starting role if speed is as OP as it's always been. The OL is something to look forward to however with excellent pass protection across the board. Sony Michel is however something to really look forward to. He is a year of dev away from being an elite madden RB.

Buffalo Bills (Willy)

Willy gets his second choice in the Bills.

The defense lost their bonafide stud in Marcell Dareus but the ratings increases to players like Micah Hyde, Tre White, Jordan Poyer makes the seconday capable of picking up the slack.

The offense is going to be fun to play with purely because of the novelty of having Josh Allen and his rocket arm slinging the rock. 99 THP would keep me engaged in every single game no matter how bad its going. He is also really mobile to boot. Outside of Allen there are a few interesting pieces. Zay, Charles Clay and Lesean are decent threats in the passing game. Lesean is one of the most explosive backs in the game and he could be gone with one cut.

New York Jets (Zeek)

Zeek unfortunately lands his 6th choice here. But it's not all bad. Actually no. It's really bad.

This team has the same thing going for it as the Bills which is a young rookie QB. Sam Darnold is arguably the most pro-ready of the rookies and his stats reflect that. Just like Allen he is also fairly mobile which should add another element to the Jets offense which has been stale for years. Robbie Anderson is a solid receiver who should be able to stretch the field. Outside of that this offense has major issues. Zeek has his work cut out for him.

The defense doesn't look all that good either. You need to bank on Jamal Adams, Leonard Williams and Trumaine to make plays every drive because the rest of the defense is going to get rolled over.

In a year or two however, this team is going to have a lot of cap space so watch out for Zeek when FA rolls around.

Miami Dolphins (Felix)

Felix gets his first option. The fact that the Dolphins are his first option says a lot about how much of a Dolphins fan he is.

This team has issues everywhere. Almost everybody on this team who is effective is also old.

On offense, things are manageable with a couple of good OL players, a decent RB and some decent WRs. Tannehill is also very mobile and should be a significant threat even though he's going to be hard to dev. Juwaun James and Josh Sitton should ideally be moved to the same side and Felix should try running behind them.

On defense, things are downright bad. Minkah Fitzpatrick and Bobby Mccain are the only players to look forward to since Cam Wake will be moved to a retirement home any minute now.

NFC North Team Reveal

Minnesota Vikings (Rick)

Rick gets the team he wanted with his first choice.

The Vikings have one of the best defensive rosters with a hole arguably only at strong safety where Andrew Sendejo's speed is a huge concern at the position.

On offense the WR corps is solid with Diggs and Theilen being a solid 1-2 punch at the position. Dalvin Cook is an excellent madden RB. Kirk Cousins however has an unreasonably large contract given his rating. In addition the OL would fall over if there's a brisk wind.

Rick's skillset fits perfectly with this defense but his offense which relies on deep passes might need a better OL and a deep threat WR. To be successful he might have to rely on a short passing game.

Chicago Bears (David H)

David has to settle for a team which was his 4th choice and you can see why this team wasn't higher up the list. However there are a few promising pieces on the team.

Roquan Smith is arguably the best defensive rookie in the game with stellar physical and skill attributes. In addition there are some decent pieces on defense like safety Adrian Amos, CBs Fuller and Callahan. The defensive line can be fixed if Aaron Lynch is moved to a full time rushing position either as a 3-4 OLB or a DE.

The offense on the other hand is horrible outside of the running backs. Tarik and Jordan are the only saving grace who along with a slightly above average OL could contribute to a decent offense under David who is great at running the ball. Allen Robinson could either be good or awful based on how important speed is in this madden.

Green Bay Packers (WiggleXXXSticks)

Wiggle gets his 2nd choice.

The Packers are solid in madden terms. There are no huge concerns but there are no huge strengths either. It also has some young players to make up for the old.

On defense, this team has a deceptively good D-line. Mike Daniels, Kenny Clark, Nick Perry and Clay Matthews can do everything at a high level. Ha-Ha could be very effective in the right scheme. The CBs are young and can start from day 1. Based on how much XP Wiggle can rack up this could be a formidable unit.

One offense, Rodgers is still going to be Rodgers. He will be extremely mobile at least for the first couple of seasons. The WRs are decent although not exceptional. The bookends of this OL are going to be excellent at stonewalling a pass rush and the guards can hold their own. Jimmy Graham is going to be a nice addition to the offense as he tries to replicate what Jared Cook brought two seasons ago although Jared's speed is hard to replicate.

Detroit Lions (MHalpin)

Halpin gets a team that wasn't even a choice of his because Reece fucked up (and nobody else).

This team is old man. Really old. It's going to be decent for a season or two but Halpin needs to really hit out of the park in FA and the draft to keep it competitive long term.

Age aside, there are players here who can be really impactful. Darius Slay is a top notch CB, Ziggy is a cheesy DE, A'Shawn is going to be really fun to develop. Meanwhile on offense, there are decent players like Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and to an extent Theo Riddick (who will cook any LB in coverage) and Ameer Abdullah along with some really good OL players.

Halpin has his work cut out for him with this team a couple of seasons in and it's easy to see why none of the 32 users listed them on their ballots.

Celtic Tigers LB Donald Payne talks about being a Master Baiter

Donald Payne was a 3rd string LB for Jacksonville Jaguars when he got cut. He says that offseason was one of the most depressing periods in his life and he felt time came to a standstill. Doubt started to creep in about his ability to stay in the NFL. His confidence took a real hit and he tried to come up with distractions to avoid thinking about his future.

He decided he was going to become a master baitor of QBs. He started watching videos of QBs and looked at their motions and their eyes to become better at master baiting them. He also practiced the motion of moving forward and then dropping back again.

And then the Celtic Tigers called because they needed a LB with a cool last name. Donald Payne went on to reward them with one of the best pass coverage seasons in LB history and in the last few years he's become even better at master baiting. Payne plans to sign a long term contract with the Tigers so that he can become even better at masturbating.

Celtics RB Cheese Puff sends Patriot defenders to the hospital with ankle sprains

In an absolutely dominant performance Celtics RB Cheese Puff put up monster numbers against the New England Patriots but his impact on the Patriots might not be limited to that. Several Patriot defenders who hada  chance to tackle him in the open field severely sprained their ankles reacting to his elusive running style. The defenders are icing up after their ankles showed signs of swelling. A source said that the Patriot defenders are unlikely to miss any games.

Tigers cancel practice after a brawl between Teammates

The Celtic Tigers were forced to cancel a practice when all-pro linebacker Donald Payne instigated a fight by punching QB Teddy Bridgewater. Sources say the primary issue was the offense's poor performance over the last few weeks.

In spite of the string of wins, the defense feels the offenses poor showing could cost them a playoff spot if things don't change. HC Damn IForgotHisName says he's considering suspending the linebacker for their next game.

Bridgewater is now dealing with a broken jaw although the general consensus is that he can't play any worse so the jaw isn't really going to affect things by much. Sources also say WR Khalif Raymond was seen grinning when Bridgewater was getting assaulted while saying something about "overthrowing me on TDs"

The Celtics next play their division rivals the Browns. Their first matchup resulted in a close loss due to the refs being paid off by the sketchy owner of the Browns.

Celtic Tigers win 4 in a row

After an abysmal start to the season including two blowout losses, the Celtic Tigers finally seem to be getting on the right track. This reversal in their fortunes stems from two players: RB Cheese Puff and CB Marlon Humphrey.

Mr. Puff has produced 8 TDs in the last 3 games and over 500 all purpose yards after he was getting klamped in the first 4 games.

Marlon Humphrey who couldn't crack the starting line up his first two seasons in the league is now looking like one of the premier CBs in the league and has shown a nose for the football.

Next the Tigers face the Pittsburgh Steelers. While the Tigers franchise doesn't have any history with the Steelers, most of the players on this roster have been a heated rivalry with them and this game could be ugly especially with head hunters like Terrell Suggs and Mike Mitchell in the game.

Celtics RB Joyner converts to the Cheese Religion

Celtics first round pick and star RB was extremely unhappy with his current situation in life. He felt something was lacking spiritually. On a trip to the United States he came across a speech being given by Cheese Guru Puff. The speech struck a chord and after attending a few more speeches and cheese training sessions, Joyner converted to the Cheesism religion and has officially changed his name to Puff Cheese. His new found passion has also had an effect on his production. The last two games, Mr. Cheese has had 5 Tds and 200 yards rushing in addition to 100 yards receiving.

Are the Dublin Tigers tanking?

After two blockbuster trades this week, questions are starting to arise about whether the Tigers have given up on the season. GM Generic Name has denied the accusation but an unnamed source has said that the front office has aggressively started hiring in the scouting department. Commissioner Tiny Calves has released a statement saying the league will investigate any potential wrong doing by the Tigers and then suspend Ezekiel Elliot.

Owner Art Modell moves the Baltimore Ravens again

Owner Art Modell has decided to fuck over another fanbase today by announcing a move to Dublin. In a brilliant move he secured the funding for this by lying to Baltimore and hnc Stephanie who is a very very sweet girl.

The team will now try to model an actual successful franchise: The Boston Celtics and will reflect this through their colors and by moving to the home of the Celts which is Ireland.

They will be moving to a futuristic stadium which looks gae af but it was super expensive so Modell figured why the fuck not.

Award Predictions

MVP:

Tom Brady

After coming 2nd in MVP voting twice in a row, the third time might be the charm for the veteran QB. The addition of rookie WR Doral Sullivan which involved trading up to the 6th overall pick, who should play a big role in the offense opening things up for everybody else, also helps.

COTY:

Jeff Fisher

When the Giants HC Coughlin retired after the 2013 season, nobody expected much from Fisher. Since then, he has only led the Giants to the best win percentage in the league and the NFC Championship game twice in a row. He should once again have the Giants competing for a 1st seed in the NFC.

AFC:

DPOY:

Dion Jordan

After making the switch from DE to OLB, Jordan is now in a position where he can use all of his talents. A solid cover LB in addition to his pass rushing prowess.

QBOTY:

Tom Brady

See above

RBOTY:

Adrian Peterson

Given the improvement in the O-line, this should be another career year for the former Viking RB. Question is will it be enough to supplant Cleveland’s Ben Tate who didn’t have the volume last year but had amazing efficiency every time he toted the rock.

WROTY:

Ibrahiem Scott

A repeat winner. Scott was doing things no rookie WR should be able to do at the NFL level. Granted, the ball was being forced to him at times but that shouldn’t be a knock against him. The Houston Texan should have another record setting year.

OLOTY:

Joe Thomas

A pro’s pro. Joe Thomas fits the mold of a franchise LT perfectly. In addition to being an excellent pass protector, he can be a mauler in the running game when the need arises.

DLOTY:

Michael Brockers

Had what might have been the greatest season by a DT ever. A nightmare in the passing game and as tough to run on as any DT in the league. Should be another repeat winner.

DBOTY:

Logan Ryan

Since being traded to the Miami Dolphins/Brooklyn Barons, Logan Ryan has put together two great seasons as a No. 1 corner. More of a ball hawk than a shut down corner, he has made a name for himself by picking off QBs who dare to test him.

OROTY:

Spenser Byrd

You can’t teach size and this rookie has plenty of it. Standing at an impressive 6’6”, he is absurdly fast. Also expect rookie TE Ethni Adeniji to put up a fight for these honors.

DROTY:

Tramon Dixon

After letting Bernard Pollard walk, the Titans apparently found his clone. Yes, he isn’t very polished. He is also a little on the slower side. But this kid knows how to tackle and hit hard. Another team follows the Seattle blueprint.

KOTY:

They aren’t people. Probably the same guy who won it last year. Who cares.

NFC:

DPOY:

Manti Te’o

What a turnaround for the 4th year player. From being the butt of everybody’s jokes to being a bench player and then turning into one of the premium LBs in the league. Expect another big year from this talented player.

QBOTY:

Aaron Rodgers (assuming Taylor comes back)

Who else. One of the best QBs the league has ever seen reclaims his throne as the best in the north. A depleted WR corp will however hinder his chance at another MVP.

RBOTY:

Lesean Mccoy

First word that comes to your mind when you think of Mccoy: Explosive. He won’t be as dominant because of the changes in the O-line but he should still be able to put together another amazing season.

WROTY:

Calvin Johnson

No surprises here. When a player is in the conversation for being the greatest of all time, odds are, he will be the best in his conference.

OLOTY:

Mike Iupati

An excellent O-lineman on an excellent team. His ability to protect the QB in addition to opening up running lanes is textbook. Iupati’s O-line play is top notch and should lead to an award for him this season.

DLOTY:

Aaron Donald

He is looking like the best player to come out of the 2014 draft which contained players like Khalil Mack, Clowney and Anthony Barr. Along with Brockers, he had a phenomenal season from the DT position with an absurd number of sacks.

DBOTY:

Richard Sherman

Yes. He talks a lot. But he can and has backed it up. Richard Sherman has put together an incredible stretch of 4 years of top notch corner play. Unless something changes, he should at least be up there in the conversation for best corner in the league.

OROTY:

Rayshon Kelly

One of the more polished WRs I’ve seen come out of college. Add to that the lack of talent the Buccs have at the WR position, you should have one of the most targeted and productive WRs in this rookie class.

DROTY:

Jamaal Patton

He should have an immediate impact on the 49ers defense. if they switch to 3-4 and play him at OLB or switch to 4-3 and play him at LE. One of the most talented pass rushers in this class.

KOTY:

They aren’t people. Probably the same guy who won it last year. Who cares.

State of Affairs in the AFC East:

Buffalo Bills:

Looks like it’s going to be a tough season for the Bills. In addition to four games against the Barons and Patriots, they also have to face the Browns, Seahawks, Rams. A tough schedule in a rebuilding year. The Bills managed to keep Stephon Gilmore, the promising CB in FA. They also brought in talented RB Doug Martin. Don’t expect too much from this team but it does have a solid core to build around.

Key Addition:

RB Doug Martin

Miami Dolphins/Brooklyn Barons:

After a subpar showing in the 2015 season, the Barons are looking to bounce back with another playoff appearance. They bolstered their front 7 with the addition of Wilkerson. They also added LG Evan Mathis to fix their O-line’s pass blocking issues from last year. Adrian Peterson shows no sign of slowing down and should have another big year. However, this teams playoff hopes rest on the shoulders of 2nd year starter Stephen Morris who is looking to improve after a decent sophomore showing.

Key Addition:

Evan Mathis

New England Patriots:

The Patriots are in the same position they were in last year. One piece short of a Super Bowl appearance but this offseason, they have tried to fix the issue. The Patriots drafted two rookie WRs to provide QB Tom Brady with targets after cutting the talented yet often injured Amendola in the offseason. Expect another 12 to 14 win season with the Patriots coming just short of the Super Bowl again.

Key Addition:

WR Dorral Sullivan

New York Jets:

The Jets are in the same boat as the Bills but with a worse roster and a slightly easier schedule. This team desperately needs talent on the roster. To make a bad situation worse, they let their best D-lineman walk to a division rival.  However, things aren’t completely bleak for the Jets. Rookie Archie Kelly looks like a franchise QB after his two preseason starts. He wasn’t perfect by any means but he gave the Jets fan base a reason to hope. They also managed to snag two solid guards in Alex Boone and Mackenzy Bernadeau. Expect another poor season from the Jets but they might finally have the franchise QB they were looking for all this time.

Key Addition:

QB Archie Kelly
