Breaking: Malik Willis named starter

In a shocking announcement, the 4-1 Titans have named Malik Willis the starting QB moments before their divisional match up with the colts this week.

Willis responded well throwing for 1 touchdown and no interceptions. He also ran for 2 toucdowns brining his total on the day to 3. The Titans pulled out the win 31 to 14 behind a big day from King Henry.

Willis had a rough day with a good amount of missed throws but the potential was too great for coach TRC to ignore anymore. Coach TRC said "Theres going to be some missed throws but the 3 total toucdowns are a good sign for the future of the offense, our playcalling becomes much more diverse now".

Only time will tell if the Titans can contuie to roll behind this grouo of underdogs.

Titans fall in opener

The Titans fell 24-26 to the Giants this week. The Titans showed faith in rookie Malik Willis and were sorely dissapointed. Willis has 1 touchdown on a play where WR Robert Woods broke what seemed like 10 twckled but from there is was sloppy inaccurate throws ans picks. Ryan Tannehill came in and made some passed needed to keep drives alive. HB Derrick Henry was the source of the offense for the titans with 150+ on the ground and two TDs. Henry did have one rough fumble that took away a scoring opprtunity for the titans late in the game. The Titans were down as much as 20-7 in the first quarter but the defense settled in. Kevin Byard had a huge interception late in the game to give the Titans a chance. With roughly 3 minutes left thr Titans took their first lead of the game on a Henry 3 yard rushing TD. However a big pass on a HB wheel o  a blown coverage by the safety led to a game winning field goal for the Giants. When asked about the starter next week coach TRC announced Tannehill as the starter. "I think he gives us our best chance to win right now".

Draft Winners

Chargers:

The chargers went for top-end talent in this draft and I think it will pay off this season. They could have acquired more depth like a team such as the Cardinals, but overall I think they got some great players.

Davion Scott is an exceptional rookie corner who may be an even better FS. He has great catching stats for a DB, great speed, and extremely high hit power. He will make a great corner, but it would limit his forced fumbles. I think Scott could be one a top FS by the time the playoffs roll around.

The chargers also acquired a mauler at Left Tackle in Dallas Samuels. He should be a top tackle within a year or two.

Jets:

Archie Goltry is the best player in this draft. Goltry could stay at CB and be a dominant player in the league, or change to FS. The jets already have Browner and Cromartie penciled in as starters. Paying Goltry at FS could make their secondary elite.

During the draft process I saw story after storey about Speedy Bales. Everyone said he would drop down to the 5th round. The Jets found a steal. Bales is an 82 overall as a rookie with solid hands and speed. He is an instant starter and the best TE of this class.

Lions:

A good team just got better.

Odis Stallworth is a freak athlete at DT. Dontari Poe has nothing on him. The lions now have every good defensive tackle in the NFL and should be unstoppable. Stallworth could even play some DE with his speed. The lions defensive line will be a nightmare this season.

I mentioned that Speedy Bales was the best TE in this class. If he is 1.a, then Eric Baldwin is 1.b. Baldwin is a better athlete than most WRs in this draft. He will be an instant upgrade to a passing attack that already features Megatron and Anquan Boldin.

Texans:

The Texans are the AFC favorites this year. They also had one of the worst defenses in the league last season. That will change this year with the additions of Stevie Mayer and Jaden Tarrent. These two players are both going to be beast this season. They should make the Texans defensive line very formidable.

On the offensive side of the ball the Texans picked up Basmine Hooker. Hooker is only a rookie but he has higher elusiveness, spin moves, and juke moves than C.j. Spiller. He is also a better all around receiver than spiller. Look for him to be a third down back this season.

NFL Scouting Notebook: QB

From time to time I am going to rank what I see as the top 5 prospects at a postion.Warning: you may not agree with my rankings or may consider certian skills to be more important than me so feel free to let me know your opinion. My first position looked to when scouting started was QB because Peyton Mannings career as a Bronco may be coming to a close.

5. Glenn McCadden: In McCadden you will get a QB witha strong arm and solid accuracy. He is only graded as a 'C' in accuracy but shows great touch on the short throws. At this point in time he is also ahead of many young players in his medium accuracy but he has a lot left to be desired when it comes to the deep ball. He has is a solid athlete for a QB. He will not be the face of a franchise, but with the right team he could become a good QB down the road.

4. Damon Banks: Banks is projcted as first pick in this years draft. After scouting him, I think his stock will only fall as the season progresses and exposes his inability to throw short or mid ranged passes with any consistancy. He does throw a nice deep ball which is harder to develop for most QB's. He also shows a great amount of awareness for a young QB. I think he could a franchise QB but i have him rated at 4 due to the time he needs to develop.

*Rumor has it that at Peyton Manning beat Banks in a race when Banks made a trip to the Manning passing acadamy last summer.

3. Skyler Luc: Skyler is a solid day one starter. He has good accuracy and elite accuracy short. He is another strong armed QB and has all the make up you would want to see in a franchise QB. His biggest problems lie in the deep ball and his size. He is a good enough athlete to run for a first down when he needs to but scouts knock him for his small size. Being only 6'1" many scouts say he is an injury risk but personally I think his only down fall may be due to passes getting batted at the line. He is not a QB who will scrable to find an open passing lane but with a solid line he could be a very good QB in this league.

2. Tony Gardea: This kid IS Russell Wilson. He is undersized but has great mobility and will be able to open lanes by running for his life. He has great throw accuracy and when it comes to passes within 10 yards he will not miss. He is also like Wilson in the fact that he has not developed a great deep ball and has been known to just lob it down the field. He is not the strongest armed QB but makes up for it with his excellent awareness. Put him with a good HB and defense and watch him prove to the world that he is better than a 4th round pick.

1. Quentin Latta: Another small QB with great mobility. What sets him apart from Gardea is the fact that he has elite throw power. His accuracy is also very advanced besides his short throw accuracy which is one of the easiest skills to help a QB improve upon. He played in the SEC so he can handle high pressure games although he still needs to work on his awareness. In my eyes Latta is this draft classes top QB but as we have seen millions of times, scouts can be plain wrong.

If you guys want me to do a notebook on another postion next just let me know! It will take a few weeks for more scouting points.

Broncos win, Manning benched.

The Broncos won another game but not without trouble. MJD led the Jags on th ground trucking the likes of J.J. Watt and Miller as if they were pee wee league players and through the air Gabbert had a solid day as he looked better in scramble situations than Johnny football. The Broncos corners showed exactly why they did not play WR as there were at least 3 dropped picks in the game. Peyton Manning did nothing to help his team as he threw a wild pass that was intercepted in the endzone along with 4 other seperate ones. Coach TRC had enough and finaly benched Manning after his 5th wild throw. Manning was hurtting the team and did not yeild a chance to win. Rookie Zac Dysert came in and threw a deep bomb leading to a fieldgoal that would end up being important after Gabbert ducked Miller, juked Watt and made a huge TD pass to a wide open WR on the right sideline. Coach TRC has not named the starter for next weeks game but with Manning's carreer coming to an end and his sudden regression anything could happen.

Cowboys offer a wake up call to Peyton and the Broncos

This season Peyton Manning has been like Kobe Bryant at a hotel in Colorado, unstoppable. He leads the league in passing yards and TD's. He has 21 TD passes on only 77 completions. Coming into this week confidence was at an all time high and with the first pass of the game Peyton threw a pick and then he threw another. The Broncos soon realized that in order to win you must mix up your play calling no matter who is chucking the rock. Thats exactly what happened as Knowshon Moreno broke out with a few nice runs which freed up the passing attack. Dallas played a solid game but in the end the Broncos came away with the win. Last week coach TRC was asked if Peyton can win the big game and this game was a perfect example that this is a team game and with this team, when one player has a down game the rest of the team will be there to back them up.

Broncos hold off Eagles

With the first game against a user this week I'm here with the first Broncos update of the season.

Week one - Game was missed as I was in the hospitial.

Week two -  TRCownage joins the league as the Raiders head coach to lead them to a huge win against a tough Jaguars team... and then promptly packed his bags as he made his way to Denver. There was outrage by the Oakland fanbase. He went on to take the Broncos to a win against the Gaints who fell victim to the arm of Peyton Manning.

Week three - A big rivalry game was in the cards as TRCownage would play the team he left just a week earlier. The game ended up as a blowout. The Broncos came in injured McFadden and conquered. Mcfadden made it to the second quarter before the injury which may be one of the longest stints of his career. Many experts are calling out TRCownage saying that he went to Oakland only to steal their game plan. When the media began calling him a cheater TRC used the Belichick strategy and simply dismissed it.

Week 4 - The Denver Broncos faced their toughest test of the season this week aginst the high flying Eagles and a real user. The Eagles choose to kick off and two plays later the Broncos scored on a short pass to Demaryius Thomas that he was able to turn into a long gain. The Eagles answered with a score of their own. The game continued in this fashion for the most part and was sent into OT. The Broncos won the toss and took the ball. When the OT peroid started, the Broncos did something they had not all game and ran the ball. The only passes made on the drive were on third down and the game winner. The Broncos were as about the 6 yardline after the Eagles made a nice play to set them back a few yards. The Broncos used a two tightend formation and ran a screen. Off the snap TRC saw the user controled player lead to either TE #1 or to stop the screen, either way with the coverage going to one side Peyton manning made a throw to his second tight end who was wide open for the game winner.

Next week Peyton and the Broncos face another tough test as they must try and win in Dallas.
