It appears we can put the Head Coach search to bed, GM Sonny Weaver Jr has made his choice, as multiple reports say Kendal Briles is expected to be hired as the next Destiny Browns Head Coach heading to Cleveland from Florida State University where he was the Seminoles’ offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach. Briles’ offenses have consistently been amongst the best at the FBS level. Cleveland hopes to bring that same up tempo offense to the Browns. He has plenty of cars in the garage to play with. This year could be exciting for the Browns.
The Cleveland Browns have hired Sonny Weaver Jr to be their team’s next general manager, as first reported by the Destiny Sports Network and later confirmed by the team. The team had fired their previous GM and executive vice president earlier in the day.
What did Sonny Weaver Jr say? “Football is what I know, it is what I love, it is what I have worked my whole career at and I thrive on every element that goes into building a winning football team,” said Weaver Jr. “I have spent a majority of my football life with franchises that also have storied history and I think I have a feel for the mentality of the fans in Cleveland and what it would mean to recreate the success this franchise once had.”

The Brown's promising season has taken a turn for the worse. Star running back Nick Chubb went out for the season earlier in the year and the team started to lean on the other star in the tandem, Duke Johnson Jr., but know he is out for 6 weeks. That leaves the Browns with 2 unproven RB to carry the load. "It's next man up, what more can I say. Duke and Nick being injured is a major blow to the team but we are behind our young guys and feel they have what it takes to fill the void." said Coach Mack. The Brown's face Arizona next week and we will get to see the new backfield then.
The Arizona Cardinals came into tonight's game trying to find an identity. They are 1-8 and are looking to turn those woahs around. The first step was bringing in a new head coach. Bo Jackson has been hired to be the guy to turn this franchise around. In Jackson's debut the Cards held the visiting Raiders to only 3 points. QB Josh Rosen played a QB perfect game going 12 for 12. "This has been a rough season for us so far but that has been no reason to give up. We knew the Raiders were going to be tough but we believed in each and continue to play as a team." said Rosen. On his performance he spoke highly of the new offense installed by Coach jackson and the new offensive scheme. We asked Coach Jackson about his first game on the sidelines as a Head Coach. "It felt good to lead these guys. They are a good group of young guys that we are going to bring together and make competitive. We did some good things tonight but we still got a lot of work to do. I was not pleased with the running game tonight. We will go back and watch the film and get ready for the Chargers next week."
The Bills have been in a slump lately losing there last 3 games. Going into last nights game with Jacksonville they needed to turn it around in order to be in the playoff hunt. The Bills offense had been pretty none existent over the past 3 weeks with the lack of a running game being the problem. This week they went back to the drawing board and pounded the ball with 3 different ball carriers. This method proved to be successful as it kept the Jags off the field. Also it also helped that the Bills jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first half. The defense harassed RG 3 all game and forced him to throw a lot of bad passes and 2 INTs. The Bills would go on to win the game 24-6 keeping their playoff hopes alive.
The Bills were at home last week to face the New England Patriots. This game was a critical game in the Bills run at possibly winninng the AFC East. The game would see the Bills offense strugle for the first 3 quarters has they could not move the ball at all. Matter of fact both teams struggled. It wan't until the 4th quarter when QB Jamari Chambers came alive. Trailing late in the 4th Chambers would take the game into his own hands. With under 2 minutes left in the game Chambers would lead a beautiful 2 min drive that sent the game into overtime. In the overtime period the Bills would force a Patriots turnover that lead to an Aguayo FG to seal a 16-13 victory.
The Bills faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs in what would be a thrilling 33-28 win. The Bills lead by QB Jamari Chambers would need overtime to secure the Victory. Chambers went 15/15 with a perfect QB rating. He also was able to scramble for another score. Despite all of Chambers success the defense struggled to keep the Chiefs offense in check. Mahomes would pass for over 340 yards as the Chiefs kept the contest close. The Bills were able to hold them off as they would kick the game winning FG in the overtime period. Next week the Bills face Division Rival New York.
New Era Stadium
The Bills faced off against division rival New York in a wild game that saw both teams explode in the first half for a combined 45 points. It was as if they both had come to the game without a defense. The Jets would strike first when Russ Jowers would break for a 90 yard TD on the second play of the game putting the Jets up 7-0. Not to be outdone the Bills would answer right back with a 75 yard TD run of their own by Lesean McCoy tying the score back at 7 all. The two teams would score on each of their next two possessions as the defenses seem to have no answer for either offense. The halftime score would be 24-21.
TALE OF TWO HALVES
The Bills defense came out the second half on a mission. They would shut down the Jets offense and not allow a single point in the 2nd half. Jowers would be none exisistant as the Bills defense began to dominate. As the defense got its footing the offense continued to put points on the board and secured a 45-24 victory.
SHADY DOES IT
Lesean McCoy is in a contract year. Many feel that this year we would need to have a monster year for the Bills to resign him. Well if last nights game was any indication that he should be doubted then think again. McCoy showed the speed and agility that he is known for and he constantly pulled away from defenders on his way to 163 yards and 3 TD's. The Bills will have a tough decision come re-signing.
New Era Field,
The Bills entered the WFL season with a lot of unknowns. How would such a young new head coach handle the pressure of the WFL, is Chambers ready to lead this team, and how would the team respond to the new staff. Well week 1 they got their first test from the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers and they came away with the win. Not the way they wanted but it was a win. You could tell early on in the game that the offense was still settling in as some missed assignments and errand passes were present. The defense was stout as they only gave up 10 points with the other 7 coming on a pick 6. They would hold the Steelers to 52 yards on the ground. Despite Roethlisberger throwing for 230 yards he was harrassed all night and threw 2 INT's. "We knew we had to keep pressure on him and not let him get the ball to Brown." said Marcell Dareus.
Backs by Committee
The Bills offensive approach was one not seen in the WFL. Coach Myles employs a back by committee approach. Not 2, not 3, but 5 backs are rotated in. That approach led to 3 different backs scoring. "We have a great stable of backs who at anytime can break the game open." said Coach Myles. The backs all seem to be ok with this as the risk of injury is low and they are fresh more often. We will see how this approach plays out throughout the season.

The Bills selected Tennessee Linebacker Deontae Sanford with their first pick. Sanford led the Vols defense last season and came in 3rd in the Butkus Award race. With his skill set the Bills expect him to come in right away and help an already stout core of Linebackers. "I'm excited to be here. It's been a long road and to finally make it to the WFL it is a blessing. I can't wait to hit the field." said Sanford. The Bills already have arguably one of the best secondaries in the league. Young and fast. With the addition of Sanford to the LB core expect them to be well on their way to being one of the best as well.

CHAMBERS VS TAYLOR
New Head Coach check.....New QB? Rumors are swirling about who will be the Bills starting QB going into next season. Jamari Chambers the Bills first rd pick last year is the favorite to start under new head coach BJ Myles. Chambers has all the tools to lead the team but is he ready to be the leader. Can he handle the pressure of being the face of Buffalo. When asked about it Coach Myles said that he was still evaluating his 2 QB's. "Tyrod has been here and knows what it takes to lead this team. So you can't count him out. He is still a very good QB and a great competitor." said Coach Myles. Even with his experience this is a new system and neither guy has the upper hand. We have not had the chance to speak with Chambers or Taylor about the QB situation but we hope to hear from them soon.
READY OR NOT?
People are still in shock at the hiring of BJ Myles as the Bills new head coach. Myles will be scrutinized heavily in his first season at Buffalo. Not only on his wins and losses but how he handles pressure situations. This is the WFL and not college. Players are a lot smarter and quicker than the college game and he is going to have to realize that quickly. Myles style of coaching is considered old school as far as work ethic with an modern each when it comes to playcalling. "I was brought up on the Bill Parcels and Dick Vermiels but at the same time I understand the game has changed a lot and I have studied Chip Kelly and Urban Myer to name a few. So I feel I am ready to take on what's ahead of me." said Coach Myles. Myles first task is navigating through resigning and the Draft. We will have more on Coach Myles in the coming weeks.

The Buffalo Bills have named former UAB Offensive Coordinator BJ Myles as thier new Head Coach. Myles name became a hot commodity in the college ranks due to the way UAB's offense ranked near the top 5 in college football for the past 3 years. The 37 year old's name had been linked to many college jobs around the country and many expected him to be named the new head coach of an S.E.C. team. The college world was shocked when Myles announced that he would be heading to Buffalo to be Head Coach. Sceptics around the country have thrown shade on this move as many feel he is not ready and the Bills are taking to big of a risk. "I've prepared for this my entire life and it is a blessing and honor to make such a big step." said Myles. The Bills front office has all the faith in Myles as well. " BJ is a young guy who we feel can lead this team in the right direction and get us on track. We have a young team and he (BJ) is the right man for the job." said owner Kaz McFly. Coach Myles will meet with the team this week and begin preparations for resigning and the draft combine coming up.
