Stability on the Road

Philadelphia. PA

Ten games ago, eleven weeks ago, the Eagles lost to 49ers.  Since then, no one has been able to stop the flock.  Eagles sore to another victory to extend their win streak to 9 games.

The Eagles (9-1) downed the Bears (5-5) Sunday in one of the most dominant performances all year put forth by the Eagles.  Teams traded a couple of punts to begin the game, however, Desean Jackson fumbled his punt resulting in a scoop up and TD for the Bears.  From then on, it was Eagles lights out.  Eagles scored 33 unanswered points, were dominant on defense and shut out the Bears offensively.  "This was a big game for us, we know our history in road games and have been able to overcome our shortcomings." said Coach McDonald.  "It was nice to see such a solid performance out of our defense today, they came up huge in this one.""There's one constant on this team and that is heart.  We know bad things happen when we relax on the field as seen from last year so we are always playing every down like it's the last play of the superbowl."  Starting TE Zach Ertz had to say.

Ealges Rolling, Excited About Good Start

Philadelphia, PA

The Philadelphia Eagles are off to their best start in franchise history with a 7-1 record at the midway point of their season.  Coach McDonald relayed, "We are hot right now and we are looking to stay this way".

The Eagles took their 6-1 record to the Linc last night against the 3-4 rival Cowboys.  Both defenses forgot football needed to be played which resulted in a 14-7 Eagles lead 1 minute into the game.  Desean Jackson ran the opening kickoff for the game's first TD.  On the insuing play, Romo connected with Dez Bryant for an 83 yard TD.  "It was crazy out there the first minute of game time, we really just needed to settle down and play our brand of football." Starting RE Fletcher Cox admitted.  And the Eagles did just that.  Things settled down for the Eagles and they took the game 34-24 to inrease their winning streak to 7 games.  The Cowboys fall to 3-5 in a 2 horse NFC East race between the Eagles and Giants.  "We knew they wanted some revenge from last year, they just wanted this one more than we did." DeMarco Murray was on record saying.  Saftey Patrick Chung, having a career year, had another 6 tackles plus an interception.  "I am reading the offense well out there and now have a good grasp on our defensive philosophy" said Chung.  He went on to express, "It all starts with our defensive front getting pressure and causing inaccurate throws."

The Eagles 7-1 look to fly high in New England next week as they take on the currently 3-4 Patriots who lead the AFC East.  Coach Rooster McDonand wanted his team to know "...even though this is a non-conference game, we need to keep the foot on the pedal, do not let this be a letdown game."  Quarterback Nick Foles who has surpassed many people's expectations this year had to say, "The one think we are aware of is that this is a trap game, we know we preform much better at home than on the road so we need to really prepare well and take this one, the Patriots are an excellent team and it will be a tough game."

As of now though, jubilation out of Eagles camp as the team has a good grip on the standings and does not seem to want to let go of their spot among the leaders in the NFC.

Eagles Looking To Continue Winning Ways Out Of Their Bye

Philadelphia, PA

Coach Rooster McDonald has some big shoes to fill (literally and figuratively) as previous head coach Andy Reid held an astonishing 13-1 record in games following a bye week.  Said Rooster, "We don't care what our record out of the bye is, we just want to win games and make the playoffs." Coach McDonald and his team have expressed all year their desire to become a playoff team once again following last year's inadequate finish.  LeSean McCoy, the leader of the offense and holder of the single season rushing yard record stated, "Last year left a bitter taste in our mouth's the way we finished the season.  We are in a much better position now with a 6-1 record however we know we need to keep the foot on the gas and not let up."

The Eagles players are looking forward to their first matchup this year against the division rival Dallas Cowboys.  "We want blood.” said Patrick Chung, star saftey on the defense.  Chung went on to say, "We lost to them the last game of the year to ruin our playoff chances.  We are determined to not let that happen again."  When asked if there is a vendetta for last year's season ending loss to the cowboys, Coach McDonald expressed, "No, the past is the past.  We have a different looking team this year.  We have a true pocket passing QB, a few defensive positioning adjustments and a couple new key rookies.  This is now, and our team is a winning one."

Eagles (6-1) head into Dallas (3-4) with a 2-1 road record as opposed to their 4-0 home record.  Eagles finished well below .500 on the road last year and know they need to pick up their game away from Lincoln Financial Field if they are going to be contenders. "We sucked on the road last year, period" said starting LE Trent Cole who leads the league with 13 sacks, "If we are going to go deep, we need to begin playing on the road like we play at home, and I believe we are going to be fine on the road this year.  We made a lot of adjustments."
