Will he just be a back up?... Is he even relvent anymore... Falcons think valuable at least...
After battling low catch in traffic rating issues early in the season, the Seahawks made a power play and acquired one of the best possession slot receivers in the game. Welcome Wes Welker to Seattle!
Comments have been made by other franchise owners promising the best receiving core in the league… I feel Tavon Austin & Percy Harvin provided a fitting quote "Catch me if you can".
When Marshawn Lynch was asked how he felt about the team transitioning into a pass first franchise he simply smiled and said "Aint' no thang boss', I just wanna play".
The Raiders held a press conference to introduce new head coach Dan Prouty this week, taking over for interim coach D. Allen. Coach Prouty is seen as the new "franchise coach" in Oakland and made clear his plan to have the Raiders be known around the league for an aggressive attitude and play style.
It will be interesting to see what roster moves, if any, the new man in charge will make. The Raiders are seemingly fine in most positions, but you never know what is happening behind the scenes. Terrell Pryor, was excited for the change, but also remained thankful for the time Coach Dennis Allen put in for the team. "I am happy and sad at the same time, Pryor commented, Happy to see a new guy and a new style that we feel fits us better come in, but sad to see a guy leave who worked so hard to get us ready for the season."
Fans and players alike are hoping for a long term stay for the new coach, and maybe some deep playoff runs that have been missing for years.
ESPN Interview with coach Hazeey talking about his Vikings.
Erin Andrews: Coach Hazeey, what made you decide on the Vikings after figuring out that they had negative 11 million cap space?
Coach Hazeey: I've always been a risk taker ever since my first day of preschool when I tried to kiss a girl on the playground at recess. That story didn't turn out too well, but from then on I've always believed I could take on anything. It also didn't hurt that the best player in the game was heading my rushing attack. All Day and Patterson were the two players I have always wanted to coach. This job is the one I have always wanted. I'm excited to be a Minnesota Viking.
Erin Andrews: We saw you making moves early on this season. Why did you let one of the best defensive ends leave Minnesota? Why did you need Michael Griffin here after the previous coach drafted a gem in Harrison Smith a few seasons ago?
Coach Hazeey: We knew that we needed to trim the roster down right when we got here to try and reduce that -11m cap. Jared Allen was the first guy we looked at getting rid of. Allen is a great guy and a great leader in the locker room, but we couldn't handle his giant salary chunk we were going to have to pay for the final year of his contract. We put him out there and got a hit almost instantly. We ended up taking it over among the coaching staff and decided the best decision for us was to accept the Panthers offer. Carolina got an amazing player and we are still missing him here in Minnesota, but we are very happy with the two draft picks we received. Overall Allen alone almost took us out of our negative cap problems.
We all had a very special relationship Toby Gerhart. It actually never crossed our minds this offseason that we would even consider trading him, but when the Titans came knocking it was a move we just couldn't pass up. Michael Griffin will be used in a variety of ways here in Minnesota. We know very well of his past experiences at strong safety and that is a position we really need some depth at. Griffin will fill a big role for us the next few weeks being the only strong safety on the roster that can physically play.
Erin Andrews: The Vikings have been pretty successful so far this season. Do you think you can sustain this success with the lack of depth on that defense?
Coach Hazeey: We will play as hard as we can with whoever suits up for the Vikings. With that being said, I do believe that we can sustain this success. We are trying to make the necessary moves right now to fix our depth problems through free agency and trades, but our main focus is the team we have right now. As long as we can hold these injury's down I think this team has a good chance to make a run for the division this season.
Erin Andrews: Speaking of injuries, what effect have injuries had on the Vikings this year?
Coach Hazeey: The injury bug started hurting us early on. In the first game of the season one of our starting OLB's went down with a terrible injury. Greenway was put out for about 10 weeks and as a staff we even pondered putting him on the IR. We had a good long talk with Greenway and decided as a whole that it was best to keep him in the lineup and just wait out his injury.
The next week of the season we endured a couple of big injuries. Not one but TWO strong safeties went down trying to tackle Matt Forte. The Vikings have played without a SS in the lineup for the past 2 games. which has really hindered the secondary. This caused us to go after Michael Griffin in the trade market.
Week 4 brought on the biggest injury of them all for the Vikings. Patterson, a rising star and leader of this team, went down hard after being tackled on a kick return. The injury looked really bad on the field so we were just happy it wasn't more serious than it was. This injury has really put a burden on us coaches forcing us to make the crucial decision of if we want to keep playing Patterson on special teams or not. This decision will be made once Patterson returns from injury.
Erin Andrews: We have seen how many moves you have made so far this season. Are there any more moves that you guys plan to make this season?
Coach Hazeey: We hold ourselves and our team to a high standard. We want to play with the best and we want to win every week. With that being said, yes we do plan to continue to make moves this season. We are hoping to address a few needs that we have at LB and D-Line. We are also still looking to move Kevin Willams out after he revealed to us his displeasure with the organisation. We have promised him that he will be moved by the trade deadline this season.
Erin Andrews: Thanks, that's all we have for you today coach!
Coach Hazeey: It was a pleasure talking with you!

The Packers are not just a another team it has been over a decade since we have beaten th in Lambeau Field; this is a rivalry, and they don't shy away from that, we are one in one in division games at best we're average sick of coaches coming up here and speaking about their team and how they see progress and potential and they are only a few pieces away preaching patience and techniques. What is this the 1960s should I pull up my leather helmets out of the Vince Lombardi closet.
I'm not afraid of the Packers and more and we're not going to sit back and play a strategic game. I'm not a strategic man what I am is an aggressive smash mouth black and blue type of individual I'm as much of the warrior is my players we are unique because as aggressive as they are as players making plays being playmakers, I as well know where to dial the aggression and when to use a disciplined chaotic approach and this means if we as the unit do our jobs and create chaos and close the pocket for the quarterback and we're disciplined and are blocking schemes and we disengage from the blocks Arro Rogers won't be at the University of California, he will be in the frozen tundra of Green Bay Wisconsin he will be in our grasp going down. If we do not create chaos and we do not do the things correctly we will lose but I guarantee you we lose trying to break through.
"Vin Fisher is my name I won in the is in high school, and division two football, and that I was given the chance to coach Western Michigan University I took that opportunity, I'm not even sure why I get this job but I was told I did the best out of the most unknown players and I have a innovative and aggressive style of defense. There was more qualified coaches ahead of me but it is kind of like the NFL draft some people draft players on potential and some people draft players on the readiness to perform.
I had qualities that were high on the list for the Detroit Lions I know how to find diamonds in the rough and build them up to develop, and I also have a motivational style to coaching you have to get players to play football is not complicated games his family game that demands a lot of respect it is simple if they have the right interior motives to play and we are on the same page I don't care if my players know how to play nice in kindergarten every team needs incentive motivation and as long as we plan for the right reasons and then I don't care what they religiously believed and what their political stances are as long as their civil human beings with a aggressive motivated innovative style they apply kind of players. "
