An ugly 0 for 2 start has coach MoTrain and his staff headed back to the white board. There has been a complete shift in philosophy in the play calling during the first two games of the new season. As opposed to the game plan that was hatched during the offseason that saw several changes in personnel. Gone are the days of the Bradford pick 6 (holla), the Hightower 2 yard gain, and the often injured Hakeem Nicks. For that reason, there will be some changes in the staff. Josh Heupel has been removed from calling plays so that he can focus his complete attention on the quarterbacks. Taking over play calling will be wide receivers coach and former Washington Redskin Gary Clark.
As the first order of business, Clark will be installing a completely new package on offense that he plans to debut in the coming weeks. Most in the media expect this move to make a big shift to a more balanced attack for Team FuZion. Half back Alfred Morris has remained patient and respectful of Heupel's pass heavy calls, but appears excited to play under Clark with whom he was signed in the off season. "I am excited about coach Heupel's opportunity to work with one of the more exciting young players in our league; full time instead of worrying about the entire offense.", stated the fire hydrant-like Morris.
During the final quarter of Team FuZion's opening week loss to CJ's Bills, the FuZion offense appeared to completely ignore the run. Instead Heupel began to call exclusive passing plays putting the game in the hands of 2nd year pro Russell Wilson. And Wilson forced a late pass to fellow 2nd year pro T.Y. Hilton that was intercepted all but ending the game and potential comeback. Putting a blemish on the otherwise efficient and clean stat line for the QB. 11 for 21 for just over two hundred yards and a pair of touchdowns and the one late mistake.
Although the game may not have been so stressful had recent kicking signee Alex Henery not botched a bunker shot of a field goal in the 3rd frame. The game may have ended differently or it may have ended just the same. However, he was consequently cut from the team for his efforts instead being replaced by 2013 All-Fantasy first teamer Steven Hauschka; he of the herb smoking pacific northwest.
