Panthers are deep at both LB and DT, having no use for Star and replacements for Kuechly, while needing a strong edge rusher. Quinn fits their biggest need and Ogletree helps replace Luke. Rams have a very good Dline, but poor LBs. Kuechly fills the teams biggest remaining need at MLB and also adds depth in a run stuffing DT.
CHAMPIONZ MADDEN LEAGUE YEAR 3 PROJECTIONS
NFC West:
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (12-4)
Two time defending champion, BuccoBlast has tough early schedule to start the 3rd year but looks to be the favorite of the division and could be the strong favorite of the NFC once again. Big move in the offseason adding Mike Evans.
ARIZONA CARDINALS (11-5)
ChevyChase out in the desert is primed for a big year with a second year QB in Coleman. With a strong defense the Cardinals look to give the Seahawks their toughest competition within the division.
ST LOUIS RAMS (9-7)
The youngest owner in TJ2002-bumblebee as he returns the power run attack with Todd Gurley. With two good quality favorites to make a run for the playoffs the Rams look to hang around for a wild card and get a big upset or two.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (4-12)
Shathead looks to rebuild a defense, while trying find the explosive offense that once lead them to the Super Bowl a few years ago. Playing in the two time defending champs division, look for a big upset as the competition is fierce out West.
NFC South:
CAROLINA PANTHERS (13-3)
With the return Ono Russell and the dominating run game as well as a smash mouth defense, Masse looks to be at the top of the NFC when the dust settles. This front seven is one of a kind and something we don’t see very often.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (11-5)
With the addition of Eddie Lacy, ChipDouglas has change the identity of the offense. Looks to control the clock and set the tone for a young but aggressive defense. This team had a solid draft and has a lot of young talent upcoming.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (8-8)
Big moves made in the Bayou, as Aaron Rodgers brings back an air attack and the addition of Kiko Alonso along with a strong draft we could see the Saints have their first .500 or better season. Look for owner Phil to make some changes and adjustments during the season and could have some big upsets with this team as they gel together.
ATLANTA FALCONS (6-10)
While the Falcons moved some big pieces this offseason it is important for StoneCold to find a way to get his young backfield involved early and often to control the clock and allow this defense to not play a lot of minutes on the field and be ready to make some key turnovers that will be needed.
NFC East:
WASHINGTON REDSKINS (12-4)
Look out for the power run game in the Nation’s capital, as AJD has this team playing with any team in the NFC. Lead by a fierce power run game and a defense that is all about turnovers and getting after the ball will have this team back in the playoffs. A second half tough schedule will test this team and see what they are made of, but also have them ready for the playoffs.
DALLAS COWBOYS (11-5)
With the overhaul of player change in Dallas, Dez traded and Romo and Witten both retiring this offense has a whole new look. The defense also is young in areas and looks lean on the veterans here. BigHurt will have to empty out all the plays and tricks he has at times, but this team should be around come playoff time for a Wild Card spot.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (9-7)
Cspring the winner of the Ironman award last season has a lot to offer here, as the Birds will show a lot of familiar faces still in the green and black. This team will rely heavy on the front seven of their defense and hope to have them come up with some big plays. Look for Philly to be spoiler and even be around come talks for the final Wild Card spot.
NEW YORK GIANTS (5-11)
With a new owner, new QB week to week, and defense that has struggle time to time this will be a rebuilding year for the G-men. Youngsterwaynon looks to find some identity and consistency from one of the Quarterbacks early in the season to hopefully have a better outcome on this season rather than looking into next season too quickly. OBJ could have a monster season regardless, and this team will need a leader like him.
NFC North:
CHICAGO BEARS (11-5)
With a new coach taking over late last season and still sneaking into the playoffs in a weak division, look for this division to be much more competitive this season. Jacobymorrice has an air it out attack, but has some dangerous balance from Jeremy Langford in the backfield, this team could find itself back into the playoffs again.
DETROIT LIONS (10-6)
Big moves in the Motor City made by CincyIceBurg bringing in Dez Bryant to team up with Calvin Johnson to make for the leagues nastiest WR combo there has ever been. This offense could give defensive coordinators headaches all day long. Look for a complete turnaround from the Lions this season.
GREEN BAY PACKERS (10-6)
With the departure of Aaron Rodgers, Eddie Lacy, and Randall Cobb DavidEM gave this offense will have a whole new look, still potent as ever. This defense could be the story though to watch as this secondary could be considered one the leagues best and will need to be to give a new look offense some time to gel.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS (3-13)
With the return of SilentPoisen, he looks to have the Vikings bounce back and give them hope in what could be a race to the finish in this division. With the leagues most dominant back AP declining and new targets on the outside for Bridgewater, this team will need its defense to be at the top of every category to have a chance to make the playoffs. Look for a rebuilding year, but not too much needed as this team could be easily at the top of the NFC.
AFC North:
CLEVELAND BROWNS (13-3)
Coming off a strong year and losing in the Super Bowl in game that could have gone either way, fullyCARTERmatic looks to make it back to the Big Game and have the outcome different this time. Johnny Football has come a long way and is the heart and soul of this team as he brings that passion on and off the field.
CINCINNATI BENGALS (12-4)
Another favorite in the AFC each year, TheLight who has made it deep into the playoffs each of the first two seasons looks to have it no other way this year. With the addition of Amari Cooper to the passing game this could be another lights out year for the boys of the Nati. WHO DEY!
PITTSBURGH STEELERS (9-7)
With a tough division, Byrdmann looks to continue to air it out and spread the ball around to the many weapons this team has. The leadership of Big Ben will take them as far as he leads them. With the youth of this defense starting to gain some experience this defense could return to dominance from the years of success it had lead by Troy Polamalu. Look for the Steelers to shock some and be around when the final team for the Wild Card is being decided.
BALTIMORE RAVENS (4-12)
With the new ownership of Mightymouseqw this team looks to build on its youth and find some leaders to lead this team in the near future. The Ravens could play a spoiler into some of the teams being decided into making the playoffs or not.
AFC West:
LOS ANGELES RAIDERS (13-3)
With the departure of Cooper this team still has plenty to offer and looks to continue to build on its recent success and dominance in the AFC as a favorite once again. Royals Jay looks to have this defense control the game each week. The battle of the division rival Chargers and Chiefs look to set up an entertaining season in the end.
SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (11-5)
SDChargers being gone for personal reasons early in the season could have this team battling uphill for the rest of the season. With its success in the recent seasons look for this team to be in the talk of a playoff spot once again.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (11-5)
With the young play at QB, Wade looks have this defense playing at a high level and at the top of the league in takeaways giving his offense chances to control the clock and play at their own pace. There is no lack of speed on the defense in Kansas City.
DENVER BRONCOS (9-7)
With new ownership in SaintsRule28 and a rookie QB, Denver turns to their veterans. There are plenty of leaders that can step up on this team and have this team in contention for a playoff spot in the end. Look for the playbook to be emptied out in Denver with all kinds of trickery to find a way to win some close games.
AFC South:
TENNESSEE TITANS (11-5)
Look for the Titans and owner Ddynast to return to the playoffs as led by Mariota who is turning out to be everything Titan fans hoped. This division is up for grabs but to win it, you will have to go through Tennessee. Good disciplined play on both sides of the ball is how the Titans find their winning formula.
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (10-6)
NatiBoi513Reds coming in with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove as he feels the Colts have what it takes to win now. Many could argue to disagree but look for strong QB play from Luck to lead a heavy air attack in Indy.
HOUSTON TEXANS (9-7)
With a QB carousel taking place in Houston, look for this defense to make plays and earn some big wins for this team. Who-Is thinks he has what it takes to make the playoffs this year and make some noise, so lets see if the players buy into it. This division could be a race to finish all season long, where does Houston end up?
MEXICO CITY CONQUISTADORS (9-7)
With another big offseason and a lot of noise made by TaylorRockford, does Mexico City have what it takes to make a playoff push this year. With a number of games being within one score last season, look for the Conquistadors to find a way to win some of those games this year and be around for a Wild Card spot and playoff push at the end of the season.
AFC East:
NEW YORK JETS (10-6)
With the big splash addition of Julio Jones this Jets team isn’t all defense, they have some talent on both sides of the ball. The Jets will turn around a rough season last season and could win the East year, thanks to some big moves by BudBowl in the offeseason.
TORONTO THUNDERBIRDS (9-7)
Toronto is not just a hockey and baseball city anymore, it now has a football team as we all found out when EastCoast9erfan led his team to the playoffs last season and looks have the same kind of success this season. With some big moves of players on the offensive side of the ball during the offseason this team will be an all new look this season led by Tyrod Taylor and Sammy Watkins.
MIAMI DOLPHINS (7-9)
Glimeit looks to make a bounce back season in Miami, as this team was looking like there was no coming back and chance of the playoffs. New owner, new team, new goals and this team could be back in the mix for a good year. Ryan Tannehill will need to have Pro Bowl year and win some close games and this team could win some games many think they will lose.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (4-12)
With all the recent success in Foxboro, led by Tom Brady is no longer the story as Drew Brees is the new gunslinger in town. Can this team find its success and be lead by a new QB? Cmastac seems to think so as Gronkowski still is one the leagues toughest matchups for many defenses. Look out for the Patriots as they could have some big upsets and keep a team from making the playoffs in a tight AFC race.
