Broncos and Cardinals strike gold deal before trade deadline.

Broncos give:

Champ Bailey
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
2014 2nd Round Pick
Vaughn Martin

Cardinals give:

Patrick Peterson
Javier Arenas
2014 3rd Round Pick

ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting:

Well, guys, we heard earlier today from Broncos head honcho and owner Gustavo Fring, owner of Los Pollos Hermanos food chain, that there was a huge trade brewing for the Broncos. He was not bluffing. The Broncos have decided to look to the future at their secondary and made a move at the league's best young corner in Patrick Peterson. Yes, the Broncos gave a lot up, but both Vaughn Martin and DRC were on 1 year deals, and shipping out Champ Bailey automatically frees up $10M in cap space for the Broncos; the deal overall frees up about $16M in cap space, which the Broncos will be using to re-sign a key number of players due for contract, such as JD Walton, Chris Harris, Robert Ayers, and Zane Beadles among some names. Earlier today, FB Jacob Hester just resigned with the team.

For the Cardinals, they receiver a couple of veteran corners who will make an impact immediately defending some of the toughest receivers in the league. DRC returns back to the team that drafted him, and Champ will presumably end his career as a Cardinal. They also get a nice pass-rushing end in Vaughn Martin. This will certainly be the talk of the week in Evo. Back to you, guys.
