Another Afc south matchup this time the Colts and the Titans. The colts controlled most of the game yet found themselves down with just 1 minute to go in the game after a FG gave them the lead just moments before. 2 strikes from Harmon to Campbell then a Td pass to Hilton gave them the win 24-19. Harmon was trash until the end of the game. Missing throws left and right. 9/16 for 128 yards with 3 of his completions and most of his yards coming on that last drive. The rushing attack was a beast 140 on 13 carries for Lewis and 107 on 8 carries for Harmon. Hines was back for his first game and lasted 2 plays before being knocked out for the game again. No Leonard on defense no problem. Griffin racked up 15 tackles by himself. The Titans a grind it out offense controlled the clock and the colts defense held for most of the game. Lawerence had 3 sacks and the colts forced no turnovers. The colts held Henry to 22 carries for 55 yards but Dnell had 53 on 11 carries. 7-2 colts
Anytime the Colts and Jags only it's a hard hitting affair. The colts defense would definitely dominate this go around. They held JACKSONVILLE to 114 total yards and 6 first downs while causing 5 turnovers in the 26-6 win. Harmon was 15/23 for 209 yards which wasn't outstanding but it was solid enough to keep the chains moving. Lewis again rushed for 100+ this time 108 yards. The sack masters were back this week. Lawerence going for 3.5 and Ejiofer with 2.5. The player of the week was Vonn Bell with 4 interceptions. He was a ball hawk all game.
The colts and Texans couldn't agree to a time and the Texans gave the colts the win. Harmon played like a beast in the sim 21/28 for 199 yards and 3 tds. The running game struggled with Foreman and Lewis splitting the load but only managing 82 yards. Hilton was the leading Wr with 86 yards for the colts. Lawerence was invisible for the second week in a row with 2 tackles and a half a sack. Ricardo Allen in a more key role had 6 tackles, 1 sack and 2 interceptions as he tries to help replace the Leonard production.
This week the colts faced off with the Steelers the team who knocked them off in the playoffs. The final would be 30-27 in a back and forth game. Harmon was solid and efficient going 16/22 for 226 yards and 2 tds. Harmon also carried the ball 6 times for 29 yards. Lewis who has been a 100 yard game machine had 110 yards on 21 carries although he did have a fumble in the game. Deon Cain continues to be a solid #3 wideout who makes plays when Hilton or Campbell is focused on. This time with 5 catches for 64 yards. Defensively the colts were solid trying to avoid the big play. Lawrence was held in check with only 2 tackles and 0 sacks. In fact slot corner Westry was the only colts defender with a sack. Leonard would be lost for 7 weeks in the game we can only speculate how that will affect this colts unit which had played very well to this point in time. 30-27 colts are 4-2
The colts offense had been asleep most of the season but broke out vs the Bengals. Harmon threw for 379 yards and 3 tds on 23/31 passing, Lewis would rush for 105 yards and Campbell who had been solid broke out with 170 yards receiving on 10 catches. Defensively Lawerence continued his tear 8 tackles and 3 sacks. He's been a monster since his trade from Dallas. The colts forced 4 turnovers and allowed only 264 offensive yards vs the bengals. The colts won 49-13 and are now 4-2
The colts and the panthers squared off in week 4. The colts would come out on top 27-13. Featuring a sharp passing attack from Harmon 11/14 for 136 yards and 2 tds and a strong rushing attack by Lewis and Foreman 20 rushes for 133 yards the offense was solid. The defense was lead by Lawerence with 5 sacks and Ejiofer was right behind him with 3.5 sacks. This constantly kept the Panthers behind the sticks allowing the colts to grind it out despite only having 6 first downs and 310 total yards.
After two tough games the colts played the falcons. This game would be all colts all night. Lewis would go crazy rushing for 170 yards and looking like a franchise back in the process. The defense was lockdown except they gave up 197 yards to Ridley mostly in garbage time. Lawerence has been a terror and worth every penny for the Colts this year. He had 4 sacks. There was a disappointment in the game and that was Harmon continuing to turn the ball over. Harmon has been cold to start the year and in the last year of his contract the Colts are concerned.
Starting 0-1 the colts looked to bounce back against Super Bowl contender NO Saints. New starting RB Jamal Lewis was added to the roster and he looks like a monster at 6'2 226. His production in the game did not match his looks with 15 carries for 55 yards. Harmon unable to get the running game going struggled as he was pressured, hit, knocked down, and sacked all night by this Saints defense. The Saints forced him into 3 int and numerous poor throws due to pressure. The Colts defense held tough for most of the night despite being put into terrible situations. Finally the broke with a 50 yard run in the 4th quarter as the Saints sealed the game. Colts drop to 0-2
The reigning Super Bowl champs and the colts who were the runner up the year before started this season off. The jets with a new coach having traded their old coach to the lions were looking for a hot start. The colts would lose Hines on their second series of the game for 8 weeks. Causing the offense to go to the new acquired Foreman as the go to RB. Needless to say the running game struggled mightily with the loss of Hines and the new pieces of the OL. Harmon would look solid in the loss 24/39 for 305 yards and 1interception. The issue was the fumbles. The colts couldn't hold onto the ball and the jets made just enough plays to escape with a win 27-15
With 2 games to play the colts have a 1 game lead in the division title race. As it stands now the colts would be the 3 seed and see the Texans in the first round of the playoffs for round 3 this season. However if the Colts lose there is a chance that they don't make the playoffs at all. With 2 games left there is so much going on in the playoffs. The wildcard teams the Texans/Colts and the Dolphins have the potential to beat anyone. It's only a matter of a few days and we will see how it all shakes.
The colts burst out of the gate going up 10-0 and it looks like the jets are in trouble. 24 straight points by the Jets and then it looks like the Colts are dead in the water. The colts would answer to take the lead in the ball game with under 2 mins left as Harmon looked incredible. The defense just needs to hold and they win. The first 2nd down boom a ball hits Leonard right in the chest and he... drops it. The game should of been over right there. Later in the drive Westry has a ball hit him right in the face... boom another drop and the Jets still have life. The final 3rd down a ball is tipped into the air deflects over 3 colts and lands incomplete. It was one of those games for the Colts. Ejiofer dominated and Harmon continues to flash that big play potential. Consistency is the issue for this colts team.
Everyonce in a while these colts need defense flash big time and this was one of those times. They could do no wrong vs the jags. Except throw 5 interceptions. Despite the turnovers from the QB the defense answered everytime with a turnover of their own by forcing 6 to. Ejiofer had 2 more sacks and Adoree finally looked like Adoree this season. He's been in a major funk. Hines sliced and diced through the LOS and found his way to 125 yards. He has quietly had 1,000 yard campaign. Many inside the colts building are worried about Harmon come playoff time. A big game vs the Jets looms.
The colts avenged their super bowl loss to the cowboys 35-28. The defense did most of the heavy lifting forcing Dak into multiple turnovers including a 3rd quarter than included 3 pick 6. Westry who has been a star as the teams Nickle had an amazing interception on a corner route and got the 3 pick 6 rally going. The offense was inept most of the night with the cowboys doubling Campbell and the DL controlling the LOS it wasn't a good night for Hines. Right now the colts just don't have any juice besides those two guys.
The colts were outclassed in every way by the Texans. The Texans physically beat them having answers for answers. It was almost like they knew what the colts were doing as the colts got shredded on D and fell apart on O. Harmon looked worse than a rookie and Hines had no room all day. If the colts can't perform better the next time they are in for a long year. That's lose number 3 for them. Coach LSU has only lost 4 games in each season to this point. We will look for the colts to rally
The chargers had no chance in this one as Harmon was on fire early and often. One of the few times in his career where he didn't turn the ball over and the Colts have a ton of mo going into the Texans show down. All facets of the team looked good. Even though Melvin Gordon had 92 yards rushing he was a none factor the entire night. EJIOFER continues the breakout adding another sack. That's 5 in two weeks for the young player.
