We are going to make the rest of these grades quick.
Jaguars Grade: F
Braxton Miller QB ‘nuff said.
Prediction: Cheesey 13-3
Jets Grade: B+
This team will be ready to win quick with veteran leadership on offense in Odell and Carson.
On defense Vic Beasley leads a young group that just needs awareness.
O-line is the weak link on this team along with the secondary but the latter should develop quick.
10-6
Lions Grade: B
Well balanced team with major potential on the offensive end with, now quick dev, Mitch Trubisky
Lack of an elite LB group may hender this defense slightly but, what the LBs lack, the experienced secondary makes up for.
11-5
Packers Grade: A-
This is possibly the best drafted team in the league. This offensive group is on paper the best in the league.
If the defense is clicking, this team will be near impossible to stop. The corners are the weak point of this team but that is an easy develop if the front seven forces bad passes and INTs.
Prediction: 8-8
Panthers Grade: C+
An aging secondary may hold this team back in the early seasons. However, the offense is good enough that the Panthers will be able to pull out some shootout victories.
Prediction: 6-10
Patriots Grade: B-
This Veteran Offense is good enough to win early, IF, the offensive line can hold up.
JJ Watt is such a beast on the defensive end that he makes a lackluster defensive group look good.
Prediction: 7-9
Raiders Grade: B+
Despite making a mistake pick early in this draft this is a sexy Raiders team. Led by Andrew Luck and Devonta Freeman this offense should put up enough points for this team to win enough games to compete for the division.
The defense has holes but Ronnie Lott is a big enough force to make a major impact at any time.
Prediction: 9-7
Rams Grade: B+
This team is a solid defensive end away from an A grade. The offense is well balanced and led by a great oline that will open holes for Eddie Lacy and keep Drew Brees upright
The defense is young but has a man by the name of Bobby Wagner to keep the middle of the field honest. If the Rams can make a move for a top CB they will have potentially a top 3 roster in the league.
Prediction: 4-12
Ravens Grade: C+
The explosive offense led by QB Aaron Rodgers and TE Rob Gronkowski should pull out wins against a few teams barring an epic collapse from the defense.
Speaking of the defense I do not see much promise from this group and it should definitely be the focus in the offseason.
Prediction: 3-13
Redskins Grade: B
Deshon Kizer will have some sure handed WRs to throw to in Larry Fitzgerald, Pierre Garcon, and Boldin. That group should allow kizer to progress for when they bring in younger WRs
The front seven on this defense is scary and has a solid veteran presence in the secondary. On paper this is the type of well-rounded team to make a superbowl push.
Prediction: 6-10
Saints Grade: C-
Brady is the lone bright spot on this offense and it doesn’t matter how good he is if receivers cannot get open.
The defense has some solid potential going forward in LB Reuben Foster and CB Desmond Trufant.
Prediction: 11-5
Seahawks Grade: B
This is a solid offense with a franchise QB in Deshaun Watson and a young stud in Amari Cooper for him to develop with.
This Defense is well-rounded and primed to make a legitimate push to the Superbowl right now.
Prediction 13-3
Steelers: B-
This team is fairly old on offense with not much room to progress. However they will not need to worry about a franchise QB if Jared Goff turns out to be a true number one pick
The defense is very put together and will be dominate for years to come with young beasts in CB Jalen Ramsey and DT Solomon Thomas
Prediction: 5-11
Texans Grade: C+
Sam Bradford is the only guy holding this team back I think. Hopefully, the offensive line can get him enough to hit open receivers.
This is a hard hitting defense led by Legend Lawrence Taylor. Have no doubts after each win no matter the record LT and his Coach will party it up with some white lines.
Prediction: 6-10
Titans Grade: C-
Melvin Gordon and Marcus Mariota are the only bright spots anywhere on this team. Maybe they can get it done in the tough AFC South.
Prediction: 4-12
Vikings Grade: B
The offense is so good that it carries this team up to a B. QB John Elway. HB Leo Fournette. WR Deandre Hopkins.
Defense is beginning to age but the offense will carry for a while.
Prediction: 11-5
Chargers Grade: B+
Offense Analysis: This offense could easily be the most explosive offense in the league. With legend Quarterback Steve Young leading the way and Julio Jones going up to get the ball this offense could carry them to a division win in the AFC West. The only question on this offense is can this offensive line keep their legend quarterback upright. When Julio Jones begins to regress the chargers have to young WRs ready to step up in his place in Taywan Taylor and Stefon Diggs.
Defense Analysis: The defense is highlighted by the frequently dirty player Ndamukong Suh and the ball hawking safety Eric Berry. Hitting hard isn’t just a sub account for the owner Troy Peska, it is also the best way to describe this defense. Eight starters on this defenes have 85 or higher hit power including the hardest hitting player in the game Kam “Bam Bam” Chancellor. Outside of the two stud safeties, the cornerbacks on this team need to prove they can blanket receicers long enough for the dline to get pressure. How long will this defense last with every starter set to regress at seasons end? Only time can tell
Prediction: 8-8
Chiefs Grade: C+
Offense Analysis: This ain’t your IRL Dallas Cowboys. In real life troubled Running Back Ezekiel Elliot benefits from running behind the best run blocking offensive line in the NFL. However, Zeke the Freak’s big men upfront do not come close to what he is used to. This is Ezekiel Elliots chance to prove he is a legit running back in this league. I am not sure if the chiefs plan is to roll with Flacco while second year QB Carson Wentz develops but, whatever the case this team will need to run the ball to win.
Defense Analysis: PRIME TIME! Deion Sanders is back and as explosive as ever. Deion is backed by the highest rated Free Safety Earl Thomas III. Hopefully, these two playmakers can keep offenses contained because the linebackers on this defense need a lot of improvement. The rookie draft for this team will for sure focus on the linebacker core.
Prediction 8-8
Colts Grade: B
Offense Analysis: The Juice is loose. Orenthal James Simpson aka Juice aka OJ. Rocking 95 speed and 84 Strength, who will be able to take him down? Much like the Chiefs the O-Line in Indy is shaky and may not hold blocks long enough for OJ to get loose… some pun intended. Although the O-Line is rough, OJ has help in MVP candidate Derek Carr. Carr just might the most promising QB in the league. At only 26 years old he will be at peak form for a long time. With two big and reliable receivers to throw to, the Owner of the Colts will surely inform his team to take a lot of deep shots.
Defense Analysis: The defense is holding this team back from receiving the highest grade in the league. With no help at linebacker or cornerback this team will have to put up big points week in and week out in order to win games. There is just not enough speed on this team to keep up with the division rival Jaguars. The two studs on this defense, Gerald McCoy and the Honey Badger, may be able to provide enough stops in a couple of games to keep this team afloat if the amazing offense does not show up.
Prediction 11-5
Cowboys Grade: B-
Offense Analysis: HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS? The Cowboys have a legit offense that is going to be needed to carry the lackluster defense. The Greatest Show on Turf is back with the Cowboys having the likes of, QB Matt Ryan, HB and Legend Marshall Faulk, and speedster WR Brandin Cooks. The offensive line just might be the best in the league allowing for Matty Ice to find open receivers. Marshall Faulk should have no problem getting in to open space behind this strong line.
Defense Analysis: This defense is just TOO young. It will take too long for them all to develop and be a force. If I were the coach of this team I would look to make a trade for a veteran presence to help this team make a Superbowl push.
Prediction: 10-6
Dolphins Grade: B-
Offense Analysis: Not terrible for a CPU drafted team. The team might be a little old but they will be good for a season or two. It also doesn’t hurt to have the modern day Juice in Le’Veon Bell. Going to need to build through the draft to improve this offense for the future
Defense Analysis: This defense is ready to make stops right now. This veteran group could help the dolphins coach win a couple games, something he has trouble doing year in and year out. Trading some of the vets on this team may be necessary to build for the future.
Prediction: 1-15
Eagles Grade: D (Heh Heh)
Offense Analysis: Where do we start to dissect this team? Ryan Tannehill might be the worst starting QB in the league. Despite being the worst QB in the league Tannehill has help at receiver in the form of Allen Robinson. The offensive line is just terrible and I don’t see them opening up holes for young Running Back Dalvin Cook.
Defense Analysis: This might be the worst the worst in the league right now. The defensive line has a lot of promise however. If the d-line can develop quick it could possibly save the terrible secondary.
Prediction: 8-8
Falcons Grade: B
Offense Analysis: Ben Roethlisberger should be able to bring the above average receiving group to a solid season. The falcons are rocking the smash and smash running back duo with Doug Martin and Legarratte Blount. The lack of o-line should be nullified by tough RBs and a tough QB.
Defense Analysis: Von Miller, Ryan Shazier, Sean Lee are the linebackers anchoring this group. Also, don’t forget about Melvin Ingram and Cameron Wake disrupting the run and the quarterback. They say defense wins championships and the front seven is a group that can take them there.
Prediction: 12-4 + Number 1 Seed in the NFC
49ers Grade: C
Offense Analysis: The offense consists of QB Cam Newton, WRs Antonio Brown and WR Dez Bryant. This offense is primed to win now, but after this season they will begin to regress. A solid group of oline should provide this team with enough time to pass the ball to the stud receivers.
Defense Analysis: In a pass happy league this defense will have a hard time stopping a good passing team. The d-line is solid and should help stopping the run, but overall the defense falls way short of spectacular. Thankfully this team has a solid offense and a solid coach to lead them to a playoff berth.
Prediction: 11-5
Giants Grade: F
Offense Analysis: Jimmy Garoppolo is a solid QB to build on but the receiving group isn’t something to fear. At running back you have the speedy Jerick McKinnon who will surely be fast enough on outside runs to help propel the offense. The offensive line looks like it couldn't stop anyone from getting to the QB and that could be the downfall of this team.
Defense Analysis: There was a point in this draft where I though the Giants had won this draft when they took my favorite player in the draft, Keanu Neal. However, the Giants did nothing to help MLB Luke Keuchly and Keanu Neal. Suggs provides some instant help for this defense but it won’t be enough to save the d-line and secondary.
Prediction: 5-11
Part 2 coming tomorrow
Bears Grade: C
Offense Analysis: No real upside from this offense. The offensive line will be strong for seasons with Left Tackle Tyron Smith and Right Tackle Jack Conklin anchoring the line. I am not sure Tyrod Taylor and Ty Montgomery will be able to put up enough points to win games.
Defense Analysis: With arguably the best defensive player in the league Khalil Mack is the cornerstone of this Defense. The Defense has a solid veteran group that will put the bears in position to win games, but they should be looking at upgrading on the d-line in the coming Rookie Draft
Prediction: 5-11
Bengals Grade: B+
Offense Analysis: If Quarterback Phillip Rivers and Halfback Marshawn Lynch Stick around past this season the Bengals offense should have time to develop. The question on this offense lies with the receivers. Taking three receivers at 22 years old and younger raises maturity questions, maybe Phillip Rivers experience can get the group together for a playoff push.
Defense Analysis: With legend Cornerback Champ Bailey making a hundred dollar comeback this defense has a lot of promise. Veteran experience mixed with youth should allow this defense to put the offense in great position to score time in and time out. The future of defensive line is in question despite having young stat Joey Bosa.
Prediction: 12-4
Bills Grade: B
Offense Analysis: The big question on this team: What will become of Patrick Mahomes? If he can quickly develop he will be very helpful in making some subpar receivers look good. It looks like this team will start off as a run first team while their rookie QB develops. Jay Ajayi should be good enough while the front seven on defense puts pressure on opposing QBs.
Defense Analysis: This defensive line comes in as potentially the best in the league. With Aaron Donald moving back to his natural Position of DT and Sheldon Richardson moving back to his natural position of LE expect this line to put up big sack numbers and give up minimal rushing yards. This offseason the Bills will be looking to improve their secondary and MLB position to set them up as a top five defense in the league.
Predicition: 10-6
Broncos Grade: D*
Offense Analysis: This offense just is not that good with an average QB in Andy Dalton and average Halfbacks this offense will be based on whether or not Sammy Watkins and Emanuel Sanders can carry this team.
Defense Analysis: Besides the teams reach of Myles Garrett with a top 5 pick this defense is set to regress every season. There are many holes this team will need to look fill in the coming rookie draft or possible trades.
*This grade subject to change due to rewards from missing draft on short notice.
Prediction: 6-10
Browns Grade: C+
Offense Analysis: This is a young team that will take a couple of seasons to develop but, when it does develop look out for this offense. With the young and eccentric QB Jameis Winston leading the charge this offense should be good enough to
Defense Analysis: Outside of CB Marcus Peters and Des Mario Edwards and Frank Clark I do not see any upside to this defense. The offense will have to take care of the heavy load while this defense progresses.
Prediction: 10-6
Buccaneers Grade: C+
Offense: Solid Offense to start behind franchise QB Russell Wilson. Behind Wilson in the backfield is a familiar face, Running Back Thomas Rawls who flanks the QB in real life. The bucs also have a solid offensive line to protect their prized QB and to open holes for Thomas Rawls. At WR the bucs possess red zone threat Kelvin Benjamin who has solid hands but lacks the ability to get open due to his speed.
Defense: Headlined by the highest rated CB in the game, Chris Harris Jr., this is a win now defense that holds 3 players at 90 overall or higher on the defense. While stopping the run seems like it will be an issue, the secondary should provide a lot of turnovers to help the bucs contend in their division.
Prediction: 9-7
Cardinals Grade: C
Offense Analysis: Coming off an ACL tear Teddy Bridgewater is back and ready to prove to the league he is a franchise QB. Teddy has a huge target to throw to in superstar Mike Evans. Mike Evans is looking to solidify himself as a top 5 WR in this league and he has the skillset to do so. Last, but not least, Running Back Adrian Peterson looks to bring balance to this offense. Due to his age, Adrian Peterson will have to make an impact quickly before his regressions kick in.
Defense Analysis: Besides MLB CJ Mosley, this defense does not have much star power to limit opposing offenses. Hopefully, the veteran presence on this team will provide enough stops for the Cards to outscore their opponents.
Prediction: 3-13
Part 2 coming soon.
