IMFL Quarterly v. 1

IMFL WEEK 4 News

Patriots Stir the Pot

The New England Patriots (2-1) must have had a meeting gone bad, or switched Gm’s mid-season, as they made three trades this week.

The first trade involved trading one of the league’s best tight ends, Martellus Bennett (93 ovr) to the Arizona Cardinals (4-0) for a 2017 3rd round pick as well as the speedy veteran receiver Mike Wallace (84 ovr).

The second trade added more speed to the outside for New England, as they traded the rights to elite cornerback Sean Smith (94 ovr) and their 2017 5th round pick to Washington Redskins (2-1) for one of the fastest men in the NFL, receiver Desean Jackson (88 ovr). The Redskins also included a 2016 2nd round pick, and a 2017 3rd round selection.

These trades not only help the Patriots current problem of no speed on the outside, and also helps in the future, as third round picks in rookie drafts have produced talents such as Matt Ryan, Jamaal Charles, Joe Montana and coincidentally Mike Wallace.

The Patriots at this point were wheeling and dealing, and that led to the next trade with the Philadelphia Eagles (2-1). After their first two trades, veteran receiver Anquan Boldin (90 ovr) was the odd man out. The Patriots sent him to the Eagles for a 2016 4th round selection, wrapping up their wild day.

The Ravens Get Their Guy, Again.

The IMFL Commissioner and his Baltimore Ravens (1-3) needed Joe Flacco (89 ovr),, and after weeks playing with nemesis Andy Dalton (84 ovr) at the helm, was able to go out and bring Flacco back to Baltimore after a trade with the Cleveland Browns (2-2). The Ravens sent Dalton and a 2016 2nd round pick to the Browns for Joe Flacco and the 2016 4th round selection.

In an interview with GM Yougod10, he had a lot to say, including this gem : “Flacco is back, and so is our Super Bowl hopes!” Let’s hope he is right!

Money Manziel moves to DC

The Washington Redskins (2-1) have gotten Johnny Football fever, as they traded a 2017 2nd round selection to the New York Football Giants (1-3) for Johnny Manziel (78 ovr). He looks to immediately come in and provide an impact to a team in the thick of contention for a tough NFC East division.
