The San Francisco 49ers have a chance to become the 2nd team to have an undefeated season and the 1st in the SGC. The 9ers this year have been just flat out scary with their defense and offense. The offense is lead by MVP Colin Kaepernick with his 32 Tds and 3,551 passing yards. But their strength clearly is on the defensive side of the ball and is lead by Patrick Willis. His 75 tackles are tops for the 9ers and has 2 forced fumbles to go along with it.
Can the 49ers be the 1972 Dolphins or will they be the 2007 Patriots and be just another losing Super Bowl team? That is the question that will be answered tonight when the Baltimore Ravens meet the San Francisco 49ers in the biggest game of them all.....
Wide out Dez Bryant and the Dallas Cowboys still have not come to an agreement on a contract extension. The talks broke down in season after a complete melt down from the team during the season. The Cowboys went 1-15 this year and is the worst finish since 1989 when they went 1-15 also. Reports from inside the Cowboys have Bryant asking for a Calvin Johnson type contract which is around the 120 million mark. The Cowboys on the other hand are not close to that. If Bryant hits the market he will be targeted by almost every team in the SGC.
This is what everyone is asking themselves at the moment. With the Dallas Cowboys holding on to the 1st overall pick in the up coming rookie draft they could use that pick to select the monster DE out of South Carolina. The only problem with that is the Cowboys still have LE Anthony Spencer and RE DeMarcus Ware who combined for 14 sacks between the two of them. On the other hand Ware is 33 years old and Spencer is 31 and they are lacking starter quality back-ups behind them. Other teams in the mix for Clowney are the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos who both have glaring needs at the defensive end position.
There has also been numerous teams who have expressed big time intrest in Clowney but would the Broncos take that chance to trade back into the draft and miss out on the chance to get him.
Colin Kaepernick won his first SGC MVP Award on Thursday night. Kaepernick put up good statistics while playing with an offense that was overshadowed by their defense. In the end he led the 49ers to a 16-0 record and a division title to secure the #1 seed heading into the 2014 NFC Playoffs.
During the season, Colin Kaepernick passed for 3,551 yards and 32 passing touchdowns and rushed for 4 more. He accomplished it with a 61% completion percentage on his passes (193 for 317) and posted a quarterback rating of 107.8 for the year.
For the 2014 regular season, Colin Kaepernick ended up 14th in passing yards (Aaron Rodgers had 4,688), 5th in passing touchdowns (Aaron Murray had 40).
