Washington was in control for most of the game, but Dallas fought had and took the lead with :15 seconds left. After a long pass by Washington, they lined up for a game tying field goal, but it was pushed off to the left and Washington falls just short of notching their 3rd victory of the season.
In the first game under new ownership, Dwayne Haskins was auditioning for his job and he didn't disappoint. He threw for 261 yards and 2 touchdowns. He spread the ball around really well and will hopefully improve his arm strength this offseason. With rookie Marcus Vick injured, Bryce Love stepped in and had a great game as well. Running for 89 yards on 11 carries, including a touchdown run. The receiving corps was led by tight end Jared Cook and his 3 catches for 60 yards and a score.
On the defensive side of the ball there were some things to work on, but the pressure of the front 7 was exactly what he had hoped. The WFT was able to get to Dak Prescott for 3 sacks, including a strip sack by Montez Sweat. Kyle Fuller, Landon Collins and rookie Emmanuel Dodson all recorded interceptions in the loss.
With the offseason next up for the WFT, we will focus on free agency and the draft to fill some of the needs this team has. That being said, we don't feel like this team is far off from competing for the NFC East in the future.
