Season 90 - Mock Draft #1

Hello everyone,

              This is the 1st edition of the Madden 25 Red Zone Mock Draft by me.  Just to remind / refresh everyone on how I do these, first mock draft I look at the top 5 vs my top 5, 2nd is top 10s, 3rd to top 15, 4th is top 20 and the last mock is the full 32.  The top 5 mock in Madden pretty much has it spot on for this particular mock draft.  I think we could see some changes by the 2nd one, but for now, let’s dive right in.

 

1.       San Francisco 49ers

·             Team Needs: HB?, DE, OLB, CB, FS, OT x 2, OG, Ownership

·             Madden Projected Pick: LT – Jesse Curtis

·             My Projected Pick: LT – Jesse Curtis

·             Thoughts:  One of the best stock teams in the league… the team is not damage anywhere horribly. But, 36-year-old Williams is very likely to retire after the season.

2.       Las Vegas Raiders

·             Team Needs: QB, HB, DE, OLB, MLB, CB?, C, OG, OT

·             Madden Projected Pick: QB – Zach Underwood

·             My Projected Pick: QB – Zach Underwood

·             Thoughts:  The Raiders need to address the QB right away.  This is a top heavy QB draft with 3 projected TOP 5 QBs. Underwoods looks right now to be the top 1 of 1. Some might be thrown of by his throw power, but I think he’s still going to be the top QB of the draft. Wi

3.       New Orleans Saints

·             Team Needs:  QB, DE, DT, FS, SS, WR ,TE

·             Madden Projected Pick: QB – Robert Tracy

·             My Projected Pick: QB – Ted Thurston

·             Thoughts:  While Tracy will probably just as good as Thurston, it seems the Strong Arm archetype is more valuable that the Field General.  At 21 years old, if he can come in with at least 95 Throw Power, it’s going to a nice long Red Zone career for Thurston.

4.       Chicago Bears

·             Team Needs: DT, FS, C?, OG

·             Madden Projected Pick:  RE – Marcus Overstreet

·             My Projected Pick: DT – Marcus Witherspoon

·             Thoughts:  Bears run defense is playing at a high school level. Allowing 175 YPG at the time of this writing.  They have most of the defense covered, but where they are lacking is they can stop anything up the middle.  So, Bears see the big run stopping DT, and it doesn’t take the Bears more than 5 seconds to make him the top drafted defensive player.

5.       Cincinnati Bengals

·             Team Needs: HB?, DE, DT?, OLB, TE, OG

·             Madden Projected Pick:  ROLB – Tony Thurston

·             My Projected Pick: - ROLB – Tony Thurston

·             Thoughts: The Bengals would love to get a true 4-3 OLB, but with another 21 year old high potential player here, I think the Bengals do go with the Madden projected pick
