Study Results

 

I have reached out to the wives of RZ and have received 17 responses. Thank you to all who have participated in my effort of gathering this data. Even if my question structure was...questionable.

Around how much time does your spouse spend with you compared to how much time they spend on Xbox?

 

More time with me: 41.2%

 

More time on XBox: 41.2%

 

Close to none with me: 11.8%

 

An even amount: 5.9%

 

Question 2

How many social events has your spouse missed due to an xbox game in the last 365 days?

 

0: 64.7%

 

1-5: 23.5%

 

6-10: 11.8%

 

10+: 0%

 

Question 3

Do you find your spouse remembering more xbox events than important events in your relationship?

 

Yes: 29.4%

 

No: 70.6%

 

Question 4

How often do you ask for your spouses time/attention and they reply with “I have something to do” and it involves Xbox?

 

Fairly Often: 52.9%

 

Not too often: 35.3%

 

Always: 11.8%

Do you feel as if you are speaking to a brick wall when trying to communicate with your spouse while they are on the game?

Written Answers 

 

1. I think the league community is amazing and incredibly supportive of one another. I think the quick time demands or a bit much for a healthy balance of work, family and the league.
2. Andy's penis looks an unshelled peanut that has 3 peanuts inside.
3. Sometimes I'm glad my husband has an Xbox so I can have my time also.
4. He is pretty good about planning games around events but sometimes feel pressed for time when a game is scheduled. I also hate how fast the weeks advance and the short time of the off-season. Also, time differences suck because the draft will often be scheduled during dinner time or bed time. It isn’t all bad because it’s a friend group and a hobby that he loves.
5. Things are often scheduled around games that are played during the week and sometimes it’s annoying af

8. I will say, he goes through phases. There will be times he won't play for weeks and then times he's completely consumed by it. All in all, if there were a better balance I feel life would be much easier. It sometimes takes a real toll on me you know! Anyway, I wouldn't be upset if all Xbox consoles just magically disappeared...
9. don’t even get me started about the damn Xbox. We literally had an argument about it 2 days ago. This man needs to help around the house more instead of sitting his lazy ass on the couch playing. But it’s his “hobby” I guess
10. Xbox is NOT real life. When life gets scheduled around the Xbox, there's a problem.
11. MADDEN SEASON IS A LIFE RUINER
