Who wants trade grades!? Well, more like trade winners. There have been a ton of trades and I wanted to look at them all, so this is more rapid fire on who won each trade. Make sure to let me know how wrong I am in the Main chat. Here we go...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers send:
1st Rd pick (#9)
1st Rd pick (#19)
RE Logan Hall (76 ovr)
The Los Angeles Rams send:
1st Rd pick (#3)
Winner: Rams – They pick up a first and a good, young rotation piece and will still have a top 10 pick. The draft is such a crapshoot, I’d rather have more lottery tickets than six spots higher.
The New York Giants send:
Cleveland Offensive PB
Future 4th Round Pick
The San Francisco 49ers send:
49ers Offensive PB
Winner: Giants – The Niners PB is fire. There’s a reason the Shanahan/McVay trees are dominating defenses throughout the NFL.
The Seattle Seahawks send:
Current 1st round pick (17)
Current 1st round pick (19)
Future 3rd round pick
The Houston Texans send:
RE Myles Garrett
Winner: Seahawks – there’s no way either of the players drafted at 17 or 19 are going to get to 99, let alone 90, overall. Anytime you trade a 99 overall player in his prime, you lose the trade.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers send:
Current 1st rd
Current 4th rd
Future 1st
The Los Angeles Chargers send:
CB Jerald Christopher Jackson
Winner: Bucs – This was close. While getting the reigning defensive player of the year should automatically win you the trade, giving up two firsts is a steep price for a 29-year-old playing a position that relies heavily on athletic ability. Even so, Bucs weren’t going to get a corner with either of those picks that comes anywhere close to JC Jackson. Good trade both ways.
The San Francisco 49ers send:
Current 2nd round pick
RB Tyrion Davis-Price (76 ovr)
The Dallas Cowboys send:
RB Tony Pollard (85 ovr)
Winner: Cowboys – There’s five RBs in FA as good as pollard. No need to give up a second for an aging back just because he’s above average.
The San Francisco 49ers send:
WR- Deebo Samuel (92 ovr)
The Cleveland Browns send:
LOLB Shaq Redmon (80 ovr)
RE Perrion Winfrey (75 ovr)
Winner: Browns – Even though Deebo is approaching his 30s and he is on the last year of his deal, getting a 92 overall wide-back for a good, but not great, young starter and a depth piece is good GMing. (even if is a homer trade for KJ)
The Cincinnati Bengals send:
2025 2nd(Pick 48)
2025 4th(Pick 118)
The Philadelphia Eagles send:
QB Kenny Green (70 ovr)
Winner: Eagles – Sure Green is star dev, but he’s also not good. 67 awareness, below average accuracy, and he’s 24. I think the Bengals could have had better luck in FA or using those picks on flyers in the draft. I don’t see Green ever amounting to much (especially with the new hot route rules).
The Washington Commanders send:
Current 2nd Rounder (45)
Current 4th Rounder (109)
Future 2nd Rounder
The Jacksonville Jaguars send:
MLB Devin Lloyd (82 ovr)
Winner – Commanders – not a bad trade for either side. I suspect Lloyd would have been a 3+1 casualty and getting a 2nd is good value. But for the Commanders, they’re getting a starting LB who can play coverage and stuff the run. As long as they have the ability resign him without giving up another good player, I think it’s a good move for a 26-year-old starter.
The Las Vegas Raiders send:
Current 1st Round (#1 overall pick)
Current 7th Round (#193 overall pick)
The Houston Texans send:
Current 1st Round (#7 overall pick)
Current 1st Round (#17 overall pick)
Current 1st Round (#19 overall pick)
Current 2nd Round (#54 overall pick)
Future 1st Round pick
Future 2nd Round pick
Winner: Raiders – As I said above, the draft is a crapshoot. I’d rather have a few shots at getting the next Chase Shields (though his brother his obviously the target here), Shaquille Campbell, Jermaine Rose, Adam Driver, Donnell Henderson, or Jeff Kennard. But if “Jon Jon” Shields ends up being as good as his brother, this looks much better. According to the Jimmy Johnson chart, the Raiders are getting back 44% more value than they’re sending out. Great job Eikim!
The Buffalo Bills send:
OLB Akeem Davis Gathier (76 ovr)
Current 4.13
The Detroit Lions send:
G Joe Thuney (88 ovr)
Winner: Bills – Thuney is 32, but he’s one of the best guards in the league. I’d take him over a 4th round pick and a backup LB any day. I’m guessing he would have been a cap casuality for the Lions, but I’d still rather have a season of Thuney then what he got back.
The Cleveland Browns send:
Future 1
Future 3
OT Jedrick Wills (84 ovr)
The Los Angeles Chargers send:
S Darwin James (97 ovr)
Winner: Browns – Just like JC Jackson and Miles Garrett above, when you get that caliber of a player in a trade, you win 99% of the time. At least the Chargers get back a proven player in return in addition to solid draft capital, but give me stars over vets and picks any day.
The Atlanta Falcons send:
LB Arnold Ebiketie (79 ovr)
CB Sean Murphy-Bunting (84 ovr)
Future 3rd round pick
The Philadelphia Eagles send:
Christian McCaffery (99 ovr; lol)
2nd round pick (WTF – why?!)
Winner: FALCONS!!! – What an atrocious trade. On its face, one of the worst of the cycle. But then when you take into what the Eagles spent to get McCaffery it makes it that much worse. I know, I know… sunk fallacy, blah, blah. Here’s the thing, you can either value running backs more than the rest of the league, a reasonable take given the difference between Madden and real-life, or you don’t. But you can’t take both side of the argument in equally offensive trades and expect not to get absolutely blasted for it. Thanks for the laughs Longville.
The Houston Texans send:
QB Randy Brooks (72 ovr)
The Carolina Panthers send:
Current 4th
Winner: Panthers – even before the awareness rule change, this trade was a steal for the Panthers just when you look at what the Bengals gave up for Kenny Greene in a similar situation. The biggest difference here though is that Randy Brooks as 81 awareness. Look out Baker, you’ve got competition.
The Seattle Seahawks send:
WR DK Metcalf (95 ovr)
The New England Patriots send:
DT Christian Barmore (82)
Current 2nd round pick (#38)
Future 1st round pick
Winner: Pats – I’m guessing D.K. would have been a 3+1 casualty. Or maybe he just wasn’t resigning due to player motivations and Seahawks have the tag earmarked for another player. IDK. I hate to be a broken record, but when you get a Super Star (X-Factor in this case) in a trade, you win 9 times out of 10. An 82 overall d-lineman isn’t moving the needle for me.
The Pittsburgh Steelers send:
FS - Minkah Fitzpatrick (93 OVR)
The Miami Dolphins send:
Current 3rd Round Pick
Future 2nd Round Pick
Winner: Dolphins – This isn’t the same Minkah that won MVP last cycle, but he’s still a stellar safety and wasn’t being used to his ability by the Steelers. Pat made the classic mistake of basing Minkah’s value on his own perception and not the perception of others. Just because he wasn’t producing for you, doesn’t mean he wasn’t valuable to others. We already saw several people in chat say they would have given up more. If Adel proposes a trade, do not accept until that player has been in the trade block for at least 12-hours. He’s a vulture and you all should know better by now.
The Houston Texans send:
Current 3rd Round Pick
Future 3rd Round Pick
The Arizona Cardinals send:
WR DeAndre Hopkins (90 ovr)
Winner: Texans – I get that Hopkins is on the wrong side of 30 (he’s 33) and on the last year of his deal. But he’s still an exceptional receiver that would be the top guy for about a dozen teams. A pair of 3rds seems low to me and I don’t see a player as valuable as Hopkins coming out of either of those picks. If it were me, I would have let him play out the contract over those picks.
The Pittsburgh Steelers send:
Current Round 1 (12)
Current Round 4
The Dallas Cowboys send:
Current Round 1 (25)
Current Round 4
Future Round 1
Future Round 3
Winner: Steelers – According to the Jimmy Johnson chart, the Steelers win this one by about 15%. It was pretty close though, (1482 vs. 1278) so good job both teams. I like getting future round picks and betting against the team, but that’s just because I’m a dick so I won’t factor that in.
The Los Angeles Chargers send:
Future 1st
Future 4th
The Philadelphia Eagles send:
Current 2nd
Current 3rd
Current 6th
Current 7th
Winner: Chargers – According to the Jimmy Johnson chart they won by 33%. That doesn’t even factor in that the Chargers have lost 3 regular season games this cycle. That future 1st isn’t any different than the current 2nd in value. I won’t hammer Eagles too hard though since they won’t make the draft and just wanted to unload. However, we’ve seen some pretty stellar CPU drafts the last couple seasons, so maybe that isn’t a bad strategy.
The Jacksonville Jaguars send:
WR Christian Kirk (85 ovr)
The Kansas City Chiefs send:
Current 3rd Round Pick (82)
Winner: Chiefs – they get a really solid WR. 85 overall at this position isn’t as valuable as others, but a third-round pick isn’t much to give up either. It wouldn’t have taken at least a couple seasons to get a WR draft in the third anywhere close to this and it’s a total crapshoot if you get a receiver with the raw ability to even do it at that range in the draft. That said, this was likely going to be a cap casualty for the Jags, and unlike Hopkins, Kirk is a tier down where it’s much easier to replace through the draft or FA. Good trade for both teams.
The Los Angeles Chargers send:
Pick 8 Overall
Future 3rd
The Seattle Seahawks send:
2nd Round (SEA)
2nd Round (NE)
Future 1st (Sea)
Future 1st (NE)
Future 2nd (NE)
Future 5th (Sea)
Winner: Chargers – Jimmy Johnson chart rates what the Chargers received as 90% greater than what they sent. With that said, it’s a lot worse than that because the Seahawks have been in the bottom half of the draft each season so far and the Pats have performed similarly. The Chargers are stock piling those future lottery tickets and I’d be willing to be at least one is a top 5 pick next season. Still a risk giving up #8 overall, but I think it’s worth it. Plus, I know Moji is a dick so he’ll have no problem rooting against BP and Theo next season.
The Los Angeles Chargers send:
2nd round pick (LAC)
2nd round pick (CIN)
The Houston Texans send:
Pick 22 Overall
Winner: Chargers – I see a theme emerging… The Chargers won this trade by 10% according to the Jimmy Johnson chart (780 for pick 22, 704 for the two 2nds) but I don’t mind it for the Texans either. Those are mid-round 2nds and should be able to get two shots at a decent player. Good trade for both teams.
The New England Patriots send:
Pick 1.6 (NE)
Pick. 7.6 (NE)
The New Orleans Saints send:
Pick 1.32 (NO)
Pick 2.32 (NO)
Future 1 (NO)
Future 2 (NO)
Winner: Pats – The Patriots won by 7% (For what it’s worth, I have been rating future picks as the last pick in the round. I know some people use the middle pick of the next round, but I think that’s silly. A first-round pick is still a first round pick next season, you’re just waiting a season and not sure where it lands. But in this case, it was interesting since the Saints won the Super Bowl, future and current picks got the same value.) Close trade, I like it for both teams but I hope the Saints whiff as a division opponent.
The New York Giants send:
Current 2nd Round Pick
Future 2nd Round Pick (CLE)
The Baltimore Ravens send:
WR Racey Rush (73 ovr)
Winner: Ravens – Rush is fast and looked good in the Super Bowl. But let’s be honest, that was less the player and more the play style and QB. Either of those picks could turn into a player better than Rush. In fact, there is usually an undrafted FA or two just like Rush ever season. (P.S. to either Pie Guy or White Greg, please type in a name when you submit a trade, just pasting the link is lazy and not following the directions.)
The Miami Dolphins send:
Current 4
Current 5
The Carolina Panthers send:
Future 4
Future 5
Future 6
Winner: Panthers – I’m not looking up the chart. I made the trade so I’m declaring myself the winner. [fist pump]
The Philadelphia Eagles send:
Current 4th (101)
Current 4th (118)
Current 5th (133)
The Detroit Lions send:
Amani Oruwari CB (80 ovr)
2026 3rd
Winner: EAGLES! – What in the Sam Hell is going on… Longville won a trade. A starting quality corner for mid round picks when you know the guys isn’t going to be at the draft so he’s just selling the picks to the highest bidder, not great Bob.
