New Cycle Team Fit
BY: Kirk Hirbstreet
Just like the coming of a new season we find ourselves awaiting the release of the new Madden so we can continue this great legacy of RedZone. The end of the old cycle always comes with great memories and a well needed break to recharge. Time with the family and the warm weather helps alleviate the pain of no football, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun determining what teams we will end up with. After carefully researching each coach, play style, and team building ability, below is what I believe would be a good fit. Some are off the wall, but that is fine. It makes this exciting!
Arizona Cardinals- KFox- Coming off a sound cycle KFox is looking to expand and take the next step. Coming out of the AFC West with BM and KJ this will be a nice break from having someone he knows (besides KJ). The offense is different than what he was use to, but is set up for a good run early if he keeps the turnovers down.
Atlanta Falcons-JP- With a good start with that bears team we have seen glimmers of brilliance from JP. This young Falcons team rebuilding allows JP to build the team from the ground up and have the ability form it to his liking. Will having no pieces besides Pitts to start hindering his early success?
Baltimore Ravens- New Trent- The roll was set up perfectly for one of the new guys to get a great team. Trent did well coming into his own and learning this past cycle. Not sure exactly what that play style is yet, but we are curious to see how he constructs his own team from scratch.
Buffalo Bills-Theo – Theo makes a splash by getting the Bills in his roll. He takes them having a good QB and a good defense to match. We saw what he was capable of doing with the steelers, now can that translate the same way now that he has an elite QB?
Carolina Panthers- Beech- Beech did good turning that Lions roster into a challenge every week. Based off his placing and how he likes to build his team, these panthers should be right up his alley. An excellent Rb helps the offense he likes to run, the questions becomes what would he do with the QB situation?
Chicago Bears- Kad- Kad had a hard go with the Pats, but things can always get better right? The bears are in a similar situation that the Pats were in this past cycle. There were small glimmers of hope for Kad, but the dreaded Rfox kept ruining everything for the division. Here he can make a name for himself in the NFC.
Cincinnati Bengals-Astin- Astin likes a challenge, and the Bengals are missing a few pieces to get over the top. It has been shown that Astin can turn any team into a contender, and while the Bengals are a contender already, Astin can still utilize his team building skills to finish off the roster. We witnessed what he did with Mond then the rookie Qb so what will happen when he has someone like Joey B?
Cleveland Browns- Kelly- This team is set up in a way that fits Kelly perfectly. The offense is built and ready to go behind a great O-line, and the defense has many of the pieces to make it a top 10 defense. All Kelly will have to do is fill the voided areas and manage that cap and we could be looking at a new dynasty in Cleveland after abysmal seasons under Longville.
Dallas Cowboys-BM- The cowboys have the run game and qb to make this offense one of the better in the league. The offensive line has a spot or two to fix, but BM has shown he is capable of fine tuning a team to a prolific offense. The question becomes can the defense catch up to this offense and help get the ball back.
Denver Broncos- Glenn- After some great strides with the Packers coach Glenn is looking to utilize Wilson in Denver to make that offense a high-flying power. With a good young core, and a defense ready to go we should see this offense put up some numbers. Now can Glenn cut down on the INT is the question. If Wilson were to get suspended there is not much hope for the offense.
Detroit Lions- Blue Print- Rough going for Blueprint last cycle where he just never seemed to get it together with the Hawks. However, there is a light where he takes over a young team that seems to be the same image of the Seahawks team, he coaches last cycle. Interesting to see how it turns out with the QB saga again with him.
Green Bay Packers- Spittah- From the warmth of Miami to the frozen tundra I could see Spittah going with Green Bay for the cycle. Having Rogers for a few years and loading up weapons around him can be dangerous. The defense is sound and ready for the way spittah plays already. Is there anything that could go wrong with this?
Houston Texans- Robo- Robo likes a challenge and based off his success in New York why not let him have his try with the Texans. We saw what Biggs was able to do with this roster so why not Robo??
Indianapolis Colts- Longville- This team reminds me a bit of the Browns when evaluating the roster. Decent O-line, great RB, defense ready to go now. This plays exactly towards how Longville plays. The question is what he will do about the Qb situation cause we all know he does not make great decisions when it comes to the QB.
Jacksonville Jaguars-TBD-
Kansas City Chiefs- Ram- Who needs a RB on the team?? Ram showed us last cycle that you do not need a good RB to win games and what better team for Ram than to have the best QB in the game. Hill being gone will stink, but the other receivers on the roster are ready to show what they can do. That is run straight down the field and let Mahomes throw it as far as he can.
Las Vegas Raiders- Jim- Jim likes to run the ball, take time off the clock, and have a defense that causes turnovers. He did well on defense in Jax and that methodology can carry over to the raiders team who is right on the cusp of making that next move.
Los Angeles Chargers- Pat- This team is a bit different than what Pat normally would take. This is a long shot because they have a QB1 already and it doesn’t allow Pat to draft some no name and throw a random person in at QB to try to win games like he did the last two cycles. However, this team is built for the way he likes to play and can see some success.
Los Angeles Rams- WG- I do not believe there is a better situation or team for Greg to allow him to completely dismantle a team. The current rams have the win now mentality and once he starts losing everyone will be on the block so be prepared and have the offers waiting. (Kupp first to go)
Miami Dolphins- Adel- What can you say? Did you think Adel would go anywhere else? With Hill and Waddle on this team don’t expect anyone else to take the dolphins. Adel will cheese his way through and get Hill suspended at least twice next cycle. Hopefully he learned from having Lamar and won’t break any rules.
Minnesota Vikings- Andy- Let us go from King Henry to Mr. Cook for Coach Andy. A decent front seven in Minnesota and Cook makes for the Titans 2.0 for Andy. A team built like this should be right up his alley.
New England Patriots- TBD
New Orleans Saints- Spence- Spence nearly jumped out f his seat when he saw that he could be the saints. Nobody is going to run this organization better than what he can. We saw what he was capable of doing with a good Arizona team so the question becomes can that translate to the Saints? He has Kamara what else would he need? Obviously Hill is starting at QB right? Right?
New York Giants-Atom- Another one that came in late to the cycle. Slim pickings for him and the Giants seem like the most interesting one choice for him to take. Hopefully Saquan and do enough to keep him going. He was left with an odd team from the start so not to sure how well he will build a team but we will see.
New York Jets- Moji- Coach Moji goes home. He tried it in Cinci but it was not everything he thought it would be. With a good young core and picks to help build the future we can see coach Moji build the Jets back up to stardom.
Philadelphia Eagles- Main Event- There were some up and down seasons for Main with the Saints. He showed that he was capable of building a strong team and will do so with a strong core in Phili. The offensive core seems to be up his alley and one that he can build off of. However, will Hurts be the Qb that will help him turn the eagles into winners?
Pittsburgh Steelers- Eikim- Run the ball consistently while keeping the game as low scoring as possible seems to be just right for Eikim. The Steelers team is set up on defense to be towards the top for a handful of years. The offense has skill position pieces ready, but the QB situation is interesting. Will he run with the rookie or try Mitch?
San Francisco 49ers-King John- The last two cycles King John has built up a defense and converted the team to a running behemoth. Not only would the opportunity of his favorite team peak his interest, but the chance to have a very good defense with a young offense focused on the run it would be hard to pass that chance up. The question becomes will the salary cap issues in the future deter him from taking this chance? Odds are probably not.
Seattle Seahawks-TBD-
Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Tiko- The situation in Tampa is a lot like the one in Los Angeles. Tiko made a good defense and drafted very well allowing him to make his team into what should have been a contender. However, offensive woes stopped any progress. This Bucs team allows him to have a good foundation to try to build from.
Tennessee Titans-RFox- RFox keeps it in the AFC where he will be given one of the best backs in the league. Change of pace from the bills team where he could barely run the ball we see him adapt to the new offensive style. The defense is as good as the Bills so it should be fun to watch.
Washington Commanders- Jake- With the success this past season and having them as an open option I do not believe Jake could pass them up. He knows the team in and out and has shown he can build that roster up. Why break something that isn’t broken? Will he have Longville to get Baker from again is the question.
