Season 70 Mock Draft V1.2

Presented by: Kfox & Rfox

 #1) New York Jets

WR Jarred Hatchett

HT: 6’3 - WT: 197 lbs - Age: 22 - College: Stanford

I fully expect the Jets to trade this pick before draft day, with a weak QB class I could see a team giving up quite a bit of capital to move up and take the one “decent” looking QB available.

Since we are not doing trades here I have the Jets taking one of the top weapons in the class. There were only two players on the Jets roster with more than 50 receptions; TE Jordan Mathews (80) & WR Elijah Moore (53). Hatchett shattered school records this year and this caliber player is exactly what the Jets need.

 #2) Atlanta Falcons (3-14)

QB Travis Peterman

HT: 6’1 - WT: 219 lbs - Age: 22 - College: Ohio State

Record of 4-12 in 2020 and finished 2021 at 3-14. It is time for this Falcons rebuild to begin and why not start with the best QB in the nation? Travis Peterman from Ohio State.

Drafting a QB will not fix all of coach IJ’s problems, but it is a start. I do not see the Falcons finishing with a draft pick this high in the coming years so go ahead and get your guy while you can.

#3) Los Angeles Chargers

DT Ty McCullough

HT: 6’1 - WT: 303 lbs - Age: 21 - College: California

LAC has a lot of veterans leaving this team this offseason, one of those players happens to be 33 year old DT Linval Joseph. This is going to leave a huge whole in the middle of this defensive line.

DT Ty Mullough right now looks like the best interior defensive lineman and possibly one of the best players in the whole class. Pairing him up with dominant EDGE defender Joey Bosa could be scary.

 #4) Philadelphia Eagles

DE Zach Hobson

HT: 6’2 - WT: 259 lbs - Age: 23 - College: USF

With Ryan Kerrigan & Derrick Barnett expected to hit free agency that leaves 35 year old Brandon Graham (who is entering his last year on his contract) and Josh Sweat (only recorded 5 sacks in 21’) left on the Eagles front line.

Zach Hobson fills a need and also happens to be the best player available. The only downfall is that he is 23 years old, not 100% sure that Coach Tauph will take a chance on an older player or not? I think once he scouts Hobson a little bit more he will fall in love.

#5) Jacksonville Jaguars

G Dane Richards

HT: 6’3 - WT: 337 lbs - Age: 21 - College: Washington

We all know Coach Him Juseman will be looking HEAVILY at the defensive players in this draft but G Dane Richards is too good to pass up! The front office committed to the full rebuild when the drafted QB Trevor Lawrence #1 last year, now it’s time to protect your investment.

Not much to say about Richards, he’s young and has great size. I see him being a day one starter.

 #6) Dallas Cowboys

DE Andrew Royals

HT: 6’4 - WT: 250 lbs - Age: 21 - College: North Dakota St

Rumor has it that the front office is letting DE Randy Gregory and DT Brent Urban walk this offseason. This leaves two big holes on this defense.

Royals has great physical tools making him a work in progress type of pass rusher. He has been stuck playing weaker competition while at North Dakota State and is going to need to prove that he has what it takes to be a dominate edge rusher in the NFL.

 #7) Denver Broncos

LB Cory Beech

HT: 6’1 - WT: 251 lbs - Age: 22 - College: Penn St

I really wanted to go QB here for the Broncos, but I believe that the staff will roll with Teddy Bridgewater one more year before looking for their replacement. With that being said I have them selecting LB Cory Beech out of Penn State to start this defensive rebuild. I could see this team going multiple routes in the first round. Currently the team is still coachless so it’s hard to tell what they’ll do.

 #8) Pittsburgh Steelers

QB Michael Bethel

HT: 6’6 - WT: 235 lbs - Age: 23 - College: Virginia Tech

It’s not official yet but the word on the street is that QB Big Ben is going to announce his retirement in the next few weeks. Cam Newton & Dwayne Haskins also will not be returning.

Bethel might not be pro ready at QB and may require A LOT of work before he is ready to start in Red Zone but Coach Theo is in a tough spot where if free agency does not go right he may not have a choice with drafting him.

 #9) Cleveland Browns

WR Emmett Wright

HT: 6’2 - WT: 205 lbs - Age: 22 - College: Oklahoma

Drafting a WR will not help Coach Longville and this team get any better. They currently have Jarvis Landry on the trade block, Rashard Higgins is not expected to return, and Odel is turning 30 with two years remaining on his deal.

Emmett Wright was voted the nation's best wide receiver for a reason. The kid has all the tools to be a great WR in redzone.

 #10) Philadelphia Eagles (via IND)

CB Tyler Baker

HT: 6’0 - WT: 186 lbs - Age: 22 - College: Arizona St

The secondary is a major weak spot on this roster so any help added to this unit is a plus for this team. CB Darius Slay is 31 years old, Steven Nelson is not expected to return.

I gave the Eagles one of the top pass rushers in the draft earlier and now I give them one of the top corners, not bad of a draft so far if your Coach Tauph.

#11) Detroit Lions (via LAR)

WR Darren Burgess

HT: 6’2 - WT: 204 lbs - Age: 22 - College: Washington

All you have to do is go look at this team's current WR’s and you will see why I am drafting one. Currently the teams top four WR’s are not expected to return in 2022. Quintez Cephus is expected to be the team’s number one wide out in 22’. I was a very big fan of him coming out of Wisconsin but I am not sure the Lions coaching staff feels the same way. He recorded 0 receptions in 2021.

Burgess has a good mix of size/speed and showed big play potential towards the end of the year for the Badgers.

 #12) Philadelphia Eagles (via MIA)

G Marc Ricci

HT: 6’6 - WT: 330 lbs - Age: 21 - College: Washington St

Eagles QB’s were sacked a total of 46 times this past season. Guard Brandon Brooks is going to be 34 years old and Landon Dickerson could be playing better.

Marc Ricci could possibly be viewed by some as the best offensive lineman in the class.
