Colts Write Up
Coaches: Jake and Monty. Jake was the coach for the first 4 or 5 seasons of the cycle then Monty took over. Jake made of the biggest trades in RZ the first season when he unloaded his foreseeable future for the #1 overall pick in Kameryn Killings. Monty has taken over and has been solid but not a threat.
Success: After grabbing Killings with the #1 pick in the 2021 draft the Colts went to 2 straight playoffs. Losing in their first game in 2021 and winning one dropping one in 2022. Other than Killings rookie and sophomore campaigns the Colts haven’t been much to write home about.
Strengths: Coach Monty has been good at passing the ball. He has been able to score a lot on offense through his first season plus. He can’t really dive into much else the team hasn’t developed super well and hasn’t been super active in FA so it's hard to tell here.
Weaknesses: Stopping anything at all. I’m pretty sure that if I rolled a ball from one end of the field to the other it would find a way into the endzone past this Colts “defense”. Monty hasn't been here long enough to see if he can develop or build a team so we will see.
As for Jake, I think he gets in his way more often than not. When he would throw a pick with Killings he would just about fold. Jake can be solid in the right mind though.
M22 Prediction: Monty will need to improve a lot on defense. I think if he gets better on defense and gets a better defensive team he could be a roamer around the .500 mark or higher.
Time off will do Jake some good. He will come back with a clear head and ready to roll next cycle. We will see what team falls to him.
