The Trade Block

One player from each team that could become expendable

Here is a list of each team and a move that they could afford to make to better prepare their team for the future:

Dee Ford, DE San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have debatably one of the deepest pass rush in the league. With guys like Nick Bosa (22), Arik Armstead (26), and Solomon Thomas (25), it might appear that Ford (29) might be pushed out for the younger ends on the team.

Jimmy Graham, TE Chicago

I bet there are some people who didn’t even know Graham was 1) still in the league and 2) now on the Bears. At 33 years old, he does not have much left in the tank, but Madden still graced him with a 78 OVR. While the return you might get back might not be much, it will open up more playing time for rookie TE Cole Kmet, who is only 21 years old and is a 70 OVR.

A.J. Green, WR Cincinnati Bengals

This should be a no brainer. The Bengals are not ready to compete right now and Green is 32 years old. While he is still an 88 OVR, he is going to start regressing immediately. The team would still have 3 WRs under 25 years old and over 75 OVR (Tyler Boyd, Auden Tate, & John Ross). Green shouldn’t even pack his bags and show up to camp.

Josh Norman, CB Buffalo Bills

J-No will always have a soft spot in my heart from his time in Carolina, but his time in Buffalo will be wasted. While his rating of 76 isn’t completely horrible, he is also 32 years old and finds himself at CB4 on this team. CB5 E.J. Gaines isn’t too far behind Norman, either. Norman would be a great fit on a team looking for a solid nickel corner on a team ready to win now. If I am JP, I will take a 5th and run with it.

Courtland Sutton, WR Denver Broncos

Sutton surprised many last season with his breakout 2nd year. A lot of people don’t remember Sutton was a guy who was debatably top 3 in his WR class (along side DJ Moore and Calvin Ridley). However, Denver went out and drafted Jerry Jeudy and speedster K.J. Hamler in this past draft, and many wonder if there is enough volume for all three guys. Sutton, at only 24 years old, would garnish quite the value if they were to move on from him.

Kareem Hunt, HB Cleveland Browns

If Prewitt already has something planned, then I suppose he beat me to it. Hunt is a great athlete, just not as good or as young as Nick Chubb, but I hear he’s great at fighting, if that’s your thing. At only 25 years old, he is very talented and might be worth a trade for those in need of HB help.

O.J. Howard, TE Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Let me start off by saying Howard is really good. And really athletic. He kind of reminds me of someone. Oh yeah, kinda like Rob Gronkowski. Who is now on his team. And Gronk is significantly better. And Gronk is (surprisingly) only 31. I debated on the two who to trade, and I think Howard would be the better bet. Brady has 1-2 more years left, so the time to win is now. Gronk gives you that ability. Get what you can for Howard, and prepare for the rebuild in a few seasons.

Ramesu, Coach Arizona Cardinals

Let’s be real here, if you want to win the Super Bowl, you need a good coach. If you can get value for trading your overrated coach, take what you can get, even if it’s a future 7th.

Budda Baker, S Arizona Cardinals

This is an interesting one. Baker is the best safety right now on the team, and is one of 4 players over 85 OVR on this roster. So why move him? Well he is in the last year of his deal, as well as this team has a ton of depth at safety. Rookie Isaiah Simmons is already amazing (and I know Ramesu is upset he isn’t listed as a LB!), they also have 22 year old Jalen Thompson (73 OVR) and 23 year old Deionte Thompson (70 OVR). Baker would get a lot in return, which would be great for a team with holes all over the field.

Drue Tranquill, MLB Los Angeles Chargers

Ah, back to LA. So many familiar faces. Drue is a prime example of a user MLB, with his 87 SPD and 89 ACC. However, with the team drafting Kenneth Murray Jr., Drue will be usering the sideline and handing Murray water all game. There is some value in trading Tranquill for late picks, but let’s be real, this team does not have many holes and can afford it.

Patrick Maho…. J/K I am not stupid. (GET HIM OUT OF THE AFC WEST THANKS!)

Damien Williams, HB Kansas City Chiefs

Williams is pretty good (83 OVR), but drafting Clyde Edwards-Helaire basically knocked him out of the starting role. The Chiefs wouldn’t even miss Williams at HB2 with DeAndre Washington signing with the team. Get an offer, accept whatever you can get, and never look back. Also, try to include Mahomes in the deal. JOKING!

Marlon Mack, HB Indianapolis Colts

We all know what is in store. Rookie Jonathan Taylor will be getting 74.5% of this team’s carries. You don’t need an 85 OVR to get 4 carries a game, especially in the last year of his deal.

Tony Pollard, HB Dallas Cowboys

The more I write, the more I see how over-saturated the HB market is. Let’s just ignore that. Lefty had quite the challenge last cycle managing the workload of Pollard and Zeke, and both guys excelled at different times. Pollard is intriguing, as he is just 23 years old but has 93 speed and 94 ACC. Anyone looking to stretch out their running game might get into White Greg’s DMs.

DeVante Parker, WR Miami Dolphins

Is Parker the 2nd best player on the team? Yes. Is this team ready to start winning? No. Is he already 27 years old? You betcha. By the time this team is ready to compete, Parker will be in decline. I am intrigued with WR Preston Williams (23 years old, 6’4 and has 91 SPD). Might as well get the younger guys looks as you start to build.

Everyone, Every Position Philadelphia Eagles

If you can get cap relief anywhere, take it (even if the devs hooked you up with a higher cap # instead of figuring out how to punish you with realistic figures!!!!)

DeSean Jackson/Alshon Jeffery, WRs Philadelphia Eagles

Both guys have values in their own ways (Jeffery is big and Jackson is fast), but both guys are on the wrong side of 30. If you can move either of them, there is no reason not to. There are plenty of younger guys ready to go right now.

Isaiah Oliver, CB Atlanta Falcons

At just 23 years old, and 71 OVR, he is a good building piece for a team, especially with his 79 ZCV. The Falcons just also have Kendall Sheffield (73 OVR, 93 SPD/93 ACC) and rookie A.J. Terrell (70 OVR, 92 SPD/91 ACC). You could dev all three together, or see what you can do shopping Oliver and look to replace older vets (3 out of their top 4 guys are 31+ years old).

DeAndre Baker, CB New York Giants

HURRY BEFORE HIS ASS ENDS UP IN JAIL!

Golden Tate III, WR New York Giants

Another team that is in rebuild mode. Another older vet who won’t be there if the process actually starts to work. Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton can very easily carry the load if Tate does get shipped off, and Corey Coleman is not a bad WR3.

Part 2 will be coming soon, it is just time to go home!
