#SEARED - A New Chapter for Max Ballard

Football organizations are full of clichéd sayings that in some cases seem to try too hard or overstate their importance. Others are overused to the point that they become air-filling utterances of nothingness. Some have become staples throughout the sport for simply stating how important the details are. The list goes, “Do Your Job,” “Just Win Baby,” “Who That,” “Keep Pounding,” and on.

Slogans attempt to boil down the mission of a team, to capture the essence of the coach’s message for what kind of team he’s building. But more than that, the best slogans represent values the entire football family can carry to all parts of their lives to become more. The most meaningful slogans contribute to the expansion of the meaning of community and touch the lives of those far beyond the walls of any football organization. The most impactful slogans capture the symbolic significance of football and teamwork, the responsibility of an individual to be accountable to the whole. The most inspiring are reminders of the standards for how to be when no one is watching.

For the next stint of my career, I have adopted and modified a simple slogan for the RedZone Cardinals that will be our guiding light during the cycle for M21.

Sincerity – always be your authentic self, those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

Excellence – the expectation is always excellence, and excellence is the commitment to giving your best effort.

Aim – have a pure motive, do it because it has to be done, not for you but for all.

 

Relentless – never yield to doubt, effort always

Execution – pay attention to the details, the little things are the big things

Determination – Obstacles are what you see when you take your mind off the goal, be determined to accomplish every goal
