Cowboys – Overrated
Simply put, if you can stop the run game, chances are you can beat the Cowboys. Problem is, that is a daunting task, with Elliott in the backfield and the best offensive line in the league. Aside from the running game, the defense isn’t great, nor is the passing game. If you can get a lead on the Cowboys and force them to abandon the run, then you have found the key to success against the #1 rush offense.
Eagles – Properly
The Eagles are probably the favorite to get back to the Super Bowl, as they are playing great football on both sides of the ball. They have the #1 scoring offense and the #2 scoring defense. Like the Cowboys, the Eagles are built around their run game, averaging over 120 yards per game between their 3 RB rotation. Perriman was a great mid-season addition and can stretch the field once you put 8 in the box. How do you beat them? Ask the Bucs and Redskins, the only teams to beat them this year. Oh wait… they are at home watching the games from their couches.
Rams – Underrated
While I should use this opportunity to get back with him about calling the Bills overrated, the fact is that no one is talking about the Rams. Coach Warner installed a new offense build around showing the league they can pass the ball, and it has been successful, aside from the plethora of INTs thrown by Goff. Like the Eagles, they are a balanced team on both sides of the field, with the #4 offense and the #1 defense. Luuuuuke and Aaron Donald on the same team just doesn’t seem fair. I would be very surprised to not see LA vs. PHI playing for the Conference Championship.
Panthers – Properly
I know many of you may be in an uproar over this rating, but let’s look at the facts. The Panthers really aren’t that good, we all know it, and their record shows it. They made the playoffs only because someone from the NFC South had to represent the division. If coaches had ratings, theirs would be somewhere in the 60s. Wilson-to-Bird has been a positive note, but they are not paying attention to what they are built around. Between their two RBs against the Cowboys, they had 15 rushes for 170 yards. WHY ARE YOU NOT RUNNING IT EVERY PLAY, INSTEAD OF THROWING IT 39 TIMES? Sure, you can use the excuse of being down in the game, but if you are averaging 11 yards a carry, you better keep feeding them the rock.
Giants – Properly
These are the same Giants we know from every year. They will throw it up to OBJ and Ihedigbo, and then pound it down your throat with Lowery and Truluck. The offense is a well-oiled machine, but what worries me is their defense. They are giving up 21 points a game, which isn’t great. They need their D-Line to step it up in the playoffs against these great running teams. If not, they better pack their bags and start planning for next season.
Packers – Overrated
Boy, has this team digressed from a few weeks ago. After such a strong start to the season, the Packers ended up going 1-4 in their final 5 games, with their sole win coming from a simmed game. The Packers play in a weak division and simply would not make the playoffs if they played in a more competitive division. Sure, they beat the Rams. But they lost to the Lions. Rodgers is playing horrible, throwing only 3 TDs and 15 INTs.
