RZ Bleacher Report - Season 74 Anonymous Owner Survey
It has been 4 seasons since our last anonymous survey has taken place, and a TON has happened in the world of Red Zone since.
With a massive suspension coming to wide receiver Jarred Hatchett of the New York Giants, what better time to check the pulse of the 31 Red Zone owners?
Before we dive into the answers, RZBR was able to obtain an exclusive quote from the Giants' owner regarding the suspension of Hatchett.
![]()
'I think it's a sad attempt to keep us (the Giants) from shitting on this foos. Quote that. Guard your record books all you want, Hatchett will have his name on that shit in just twelve games played. Commissioner Mojica is scared of normal sized adult men, so he's always had it out for me as an owner. Commissioner Allen is scared to upset the masses.
Hatchett is a grown men among little boys. I can see how that would trigger some discretion. All in all, it's provided some great conversation around the league, but I'm going to miss our guy Hatchett.' - Mr. Montguhmery
With that being said, let's take a deep dive into what the owners around Red Zone had to say about these topics we appraoched them with...
1) - What is your opinion of the Jarred Hatchett situation and suspension?
-'Off with his head!'
-'Too harsh. I think it's a non-situation. Moss-like talent being used like Randy Moss.'
-'Where is the Zeke Elliott suspension?'
-'I think this was a blatant example of stat padding, I'm surprised it took so long for something to be done.'
-'I think it's blown out of proportion to be honest. The Giants are 2-8 and we're suspending him for having a huge game with a guy that wasn't necessarily spoon-fed on his receptions, man was just open. Was it bad sportsmanship to keep throwing the ball as much as he was? Probably. However, bringing the hammer down on Hatchett for only 10 receptions does seem a little much.'
-'He deserves it, and his efforts to smear other generational talents and act like Hatchett isn't being favored is as familiar as it is silly.'
-'MUTguhmery is back and in full effect! Out of 5 weeks, Hatchett has three 200 yard+ games and one 300 yard game. #CmonSon'
-'Very deserved for stat padding.'
-'Disgusting. Monty's peen is far too large for my bussy.'
-'Deserved. He's up 40 point and runs the ball 11 times. Can't be more obvious stat padding.'
-'It was padding, and the suspension was justified.'
-'Dropping back and hot routing to streaks every single play is not what this league is built on. The fact it's gone on forever - this was way overdue.'
-'His season stats are not a problem to me. The only issue I have with them is the fact that he had 10 catches for 300+ and 4 TDs in a game where he was winning by 21+, and only ran the ball 9 times.'
-'4 games was not enough. If you want those numbers go join another league.'
-'I think 4 games is good. Levels out his stat line. Any further infractions should carry a year suspension or at least three quarters.'
-'It's well deserved, though it could've/should've been more severe.'
2) - What is the biggest current issue facing the commissioners in Red Zone?
-'Questions like this sewing the seeds of dissonance.'
-'Erectile dysfunction.'
-'Trade committee.'
-'The next glitch Biggs finds.'
-'Trade committee inconsistencies. These guys are all over the place.'
-'Besides that they aren't bringing media or league excitement?'
-'Suspension consistency.'
-'I think it's going to be keeping people invested after this season.'
-'Keeping all the people with complaints happy I guess.'
-'Picking and choosing what they want to publicly denounce and what they let go unscathed.'
-'Don't know if it is an issue they are looking at, but one I have is super deep dropbacks.'
-'Seems like guys are finding a way to figure out loopholes in the rules. Every week there is a new suspension or rule change.'
-'I would honestly say the gray areas in some of the rules and how they interpret them. Not on the commish crew to always have to make a new ruling, sometimes users just raise enough of a fuss to warrant it. Unfortunately with very different grown men, ethical ideas are different as far as similarities.'
-'The amount of picks thrown in RZ. This seems like something they're set on trying to fix, but I'm not sure if they can.'
-'The military dude sending death and rape threats to another member of RZ. From 8 am to midnight. Threats. Random messages. You can actually go to jail for that shit. And commish and gang shrugs it off.'
-'Managing cheesy play with the rule changes on game play.'
3) - Which of the rookie quarterbacks has the brightest Red Zone future with their current coaching staff?
-'Carruthers for sure.'
-'Carruthers.'
-'NOT Carruthers.'
-'Garland in Philly.'
-'Carruthers. The others are far too inconsistent.'
-'None of them, they're all in bad spots.'
-'Swift in New England.'
-'Garland. He's got the most attribute upside.'
-'None of them.'
-'None of the above.'
-'Carruthers if Farmer stays put. That's like an Andy Dalton on the Bengals situation in my opinion - not the best by any means, but is solid enough to help carry that offense out of mediocrity. I think if Farmer was on a different team it would be interesting to see how he does.'
-'None of the above. They're all mediocre at best, and don't see any of them putting up big numbers any time soon.'
-'None.'
-'Garland. The Eagles coaching staff just started to figure him out.'
-'Carruthers. He's not going to have to throw the ball that much.'
-'I think Garland. Tauph is starting to get an offense built around him. He has the weapons, just needs to master the playbook and his running ability. Give me the Eagles!'
To recap
4) - Which current Red Zone coach do you think should be on the hot seat with ownership? Why?
-'The Bears. Wasn't this supposed to be JP's cycle?'
-'The consumate rule breakers and lame play all-stars!'
-'Beech. He hasn't put out much media or tweeted since November.'
-'JP. He has ruined that Bears team, they had upside with Fields to start the cycle. He doesn't seem to care.'
-'I think other than Nick, I would have to say Robo. If he was at least good at gameplay, it would warrant some sort of spot. The fact that he is terrible and doesn't produce media is kind of a double whammy.'
-'What's going on in New England? I think this coach is more worried about collecting Discord All Star votes.'
-'J-E-T-S. Jets. Jets. Jets. At some point that drafted talent has to shwo and prove on the field.'
-'There isn't one particular guy for me. Anyone who doesn't contribute to the league with media/chat activity, and also doesn't carry the integrity of sim play shouldn't be here.'
-'No owners are really bad. I guess whoever does the least amount of media, or Biggs/White Greg because of the recent rule breaks and allegations.'
-'If White isn't the obvious answer. This is his second good roster he has imploded and turned into a top 10 draft pick.'
-'None. Everyone has bumps in the road to get over every now and then.'
-'JP. It's like when Zimmer was at the end of the season not caring and jus there to finish his DEs.'
-'Beech. This dude is not here mentally and just fills a spot. I don't know, I like him though, this was a tough question. Biggs is the other obvious choice for all the scandals.'
-'Robo. He wins drafts...not games.'
-'Blueprint.'
-'None. Everyone does what they should, and shows an acceptable level of passion for the league.'
-'Longville. Why the hell would Cleveland bring this guy back?'
5) - Which division is currently the best in RZ? The worst?
BEST
-'Best is strangely the AFC West, if we ignore Denver. Any one of those teams could win it.'
-'I think the best is the NFC South. Two shoe-ins for the playoffs any non-tank year, a solid Warren and a rising star in Atom makes this a very tough division.'
-'AFC South. Biggs is Biggs and Andy is very hot this season. White has also been solid and Jim isn't a pushover.'
WORST
-'NFC North. If Astin wasn't there this would be considered the worst division in Red Zone history. How did Glenn beat him TWICE this year?'
-'NFC North for sure. The Bears and Lions are a joke, and the Packers will win 7 games a year max. Astin is a cakewalk to the playoffs every season.'
-NFC East. Outside of Jake, that division has been very underwhelming. What happened to Tauph and Monty?'
6) - Which coaches have disappointed you the most from the beginning of the cycle to now?
-'Moji, very little playoff success. Same with Roc.'
-'Tauph and Blueprint.'
-'"Acknowledge us". IFYKYK'
-'I haven't been here long, but I've heard JP has had a rough go.'
-'Tauph, Blueprint, JP, Tiko, Zach, and Pat.'
-'Jets'
-KJ and Pat. I expected an Astin bowl by now as well.'
-'Tiko. I thought he really had something going, but he's fallen off on the sticks. Love his league contributions though.'
-'Jim, Jim and Jim.'
-'Blue.'
-'Blueprint.'
-'I'd have to say Tiko, besides the fact that he has built a very strong team, but some of the decisions were odd to say the least. One of the best talent developers, but just always falls flat on a team that is known to have some great talent.'
-'Tauph. He used to be a defensive monster. Now he can pass for a role on Monsters Inc'
-'Kad'
-'King John'
-'Moji, he hasn't done anything in the postseason.'
-'JP. It's too bad, but it's brutal in Chicago.'
7) - Any coaches that aren't getting the attention they deserve?
-'Adam'
-Too much parity, I have no clue to be honest.'
-'ATOM!!! He is crushing it.'
-'Hot take here, but I'm going to say White Greg for this one. Aside from always being the laughingstock of in game discord chat, the man actually isn't terrible when it comes to gameplay. He is a big stickler on the rules and really doesn't make that many mistakes offensively. He has a good run fitting user and typically doesn't give up too many big plays. Unfortunately his GM work has hindered his team to inconceivable levels, but purely as a coach I think he is solid.'
-'Love what Theo is doing.'
-'Theo and Jim.'
-'KFox one game from going to his first Super Bowl. This guy has had a huge turnaround.'
-'Theo is doing under the radar things.'
-'Atom has been looking nice. And cheesy.'
-'BM this season and Jake. Not a lot of twets about them, and they deserve them.'
-'Atom. He just beat Ram. BP, after his TankGate is second in the NFC West. WG, for all the grief he gets, he's in the playoff hunt.'
-'Warren sticks out to me the most. His gameplay is impeccable and his contributions to media, specifically Twitter, has created a great culmination of immersion. Jim would be another that deserves more attention.'
-'I feel like people underrate Mayne Event. He is a very smart player. I also feel like the people who haven't had the chance to play me think I stink.'
-'Not really. Good teams are good and bad teams are bad. Sun rises, sun sets.'
-'THEO!!!'
-'White. If the playoffs were to start next week, he'd be in over Biggs.'
-'Jimbo. His record is not indicative of his play.'
