RZBR Morning News Dump: Harris to Browns, RZ Bowl 68, & More....

Cleveland Browns introduce Andrew Berry as team's general manager

Greg Harris Traded to Cleveland

As we discussed in yesterday morning's News Dump, the Jets were on the cusp on making a move regarding quarterback Greg Harris. Entering his contract year, the young quarterback fell out of favor in the Jets locker room and front office.

The deal was completed quickly, and as we mentioned yesterday, Cleveland was one of a few teams really hard after Harris. The Rams were mentioned as a potential suitor, but Cleveland offered two 1st round draft picks, which pushed them over the edge as favorites.

The Browns sent picks 23 & 29 to the Jets, along with a 4th round pick.

The Jets now have the ammunition to make another trade, or draft two young players at the bottom of the first round. Sources tell me they're already trying to use one of those picks to acquire a starting caliber player in a trade.

Cleveland is fresh off a 1-15 campaign, and had one of the worst passing offenses in the league, they hope the addition of Harris provides a jolt for a franchise that deseprately needs it. In a division where the Bengals have started an upswing, and the Steelers are in RZ Bowl 68, something positive needs to happen for the Browns.

RZ Bowl 68 Preview

Big matchup today between the Atlanta Falcons and the Pittsburgh Steelers, as the Falcons held off a furious Cardinals comeback to reach their second RZ Bowl of the cycle, and the Steelers get the massive upset over the Broncos in the AFC Championship Game, as their vaunted defensive line harassed Drew Lock all afternoon.

So now we get the matchup of an elite offense in Atlanta, versus an elite defense in Pittsburgh. What's the pick?

I'm going Atlanta. Despite the talent on Pittsburgh's defense, and the way their defensive line has played, I just trust Coach Sowers in a big spot more. The offense for Pittsburgh has been up and down, and we don't talk enough about how good Atlanta's defense was this year. It will be close, but I have Atlanta winning, and getting Mr. Honeycutt another ring (press conference outside??).

Offseason Nuggets

-Expect a record amount of 1st round picks traded, with a minimum of two seasons remaining, teams that are on the cusp of competing for a championship will look to add proven players

-Teams that we expect to be very active in free agency and the trade market - Seattle, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Jacksonville, Houston

-As reported yesterday, Baker Mayfield or Carson Wentz seems like a lock to the Jets

-The Jets will use one of the recently acquired picks in the Harris trade to acquire an offensive lineman
